okay so about the lyatt scene - it was cute and very fling like?? just two people in "like" who are exploring their feelings. and this is when they had the glitz & glamour of old hollywood and it was just time travel and adventures and nothing too serious. then jessica comes back. then lucy finds out how much her family is involved in rittenhouse. then shit starts to get real. and that relationship isn't meant to last beyond a crush?? lyatt has always been cute, but garcy has always been /real/

Yvonne Blake, de vestir a su Supermán a dirigir la Academia de Cine de España

Magdalena Tsanis Madrid, 17 jul (EFE).- Un Óscar, cuatro premios Goya y el Premio Nacional de Cinematografía avalan la trayectoria de la diseñadora de vestuario Yvonne Blake, que vistió para el celuloide a estrellas como Audrey Hepburn, Sofía Loren o Christopher Reeve en "Supermán" y que dedicó sus últimos años a dirigir la Academia española de Cine. Británica de nacimiento y española por adopción y devoción, Blake (Manchester, 1940) se autoproclamó en su día "más española que Agustina de Aragón". Llegó a España en 1968, por motivos de trabajo, y se quedó por amor, hasta su fallecimiento hoy a los 78 años. Diseñó el vestuario de medio centenar de producciones nacionales e internacionales, entre ellas, "Nicholas and Alexandra", la historia del último zar de Rusia dirigida por Franklin J. Schaffner, por la que se llevó el Oscar en 1971, y volvió a ser candidata a la estatuilla cinco años después con "The Four Musketeers", de Richard Lester. Blake fue cuatro veces candidata a los BAFTA -una de ellas por "Jesucristo Superstar"- y dos a los Emmy, y logró cuatro Premios Goya: por "Remando al viento" (1988), de Gonzalo Suárez; "Canción de cuna" (1994), de José Luis Garci; "Carmen" (2003), de Vicente Aranda, y "El Puente de San Luis Rey" (2004), de Mary McGuckian. El ministerio español de Cultura le concedió en 2012 el Premio Nacional de Cinematografía por volcarse en el cine español con "rigor, elegancia y creatividad". Fue la primera mujer no actriz en hacerse con este galardón, que compartió, puño en alto, con todas las mujeres "técnicas" del cine: "Nosotras también contamos", dijo. Formada en arte, diseño y escultura en el College of Art & Design de Manchester, Blake se presentó en sus comienzos con su portafolio en Londres en la sede de la casa de vestuario Bermans, que colaboraba en las películas de la mítica productora de terror Hammer. Tras hacer sus primeros pinitos en Bermans, llegó el momento de diseñar su primer vestuario para una película: con sólo 22 años se encontró vistiendo a Sofía Loren en "Judith" (1966), de Daniel Mann. En una reciente conferencia en el Fashion Institute of Technology de Nueva York, Blake recordaba que, lejos del glamour de las firmas italianas, vistió a Loren con ropa discreta encontrada en un kibutz de Israel que, pese a todo, le sentaba espectacularmente. Para Hepburn, en su opinión la más elegante, diseñó un espartano traje de abadesa que llevó en "Robin and Marian" (1976). Ava Gardner, Robert de Niro, Sean Connery o Elisabeth Taylor también lucieron sus diseños y trabajó a las órdenes de directores como Francois Truffaut, Albert Finney, John Sturges, Paul Verhoeven, Peter Bogdanovich o Milos Forman. Pese al logro artístico de elaborar el vestuario de "Supermán" sin que pareciera "ridículo", y pese a su buena relación con Marlon Brando o Gene Hackman, aquel fue para Blake un rodaje para olvidar, ya que no se entendió con su director Richard Donner ni con la actriz que hacía de Lois Lane, Margot Kidder. Blake asumió las riendas de la Academia española de Cine en 2016 pero su mandato se vio interrumpido a causa de un ictus que sufrió en enero pasado. Fue la única "con huevos" para presentarse, según dijo entonces a Efe, en un momento de aguas revueltas para la institución. No sólo puso paz tras la salida precipitada de Antonio Resines, sino que logró atraer a nuevos miembros y rejuvenecerla. EFE
