Increased Health Awareness: The rise in consumer health consciousness is a significant driver behind the surge in non-toxic nail polish sales. Awareness of the potential risks associated with prolonged exposure to conventional nail polish chemicals has led to a shift towards products labeled as "3-free" (free from toluene, DBP, and formaldehyde) and "5-free" (excluding formaldehyde resin and camphor as well). This trend is further fueled by increasing instances of allergies and sensitivities to traditional nail polish ingredients.

Influencers promoting non-toxic beauty products can significantly sway consumer preferences and drive the demand for non-toxic nail polishes. As more celebrities adopt and promote environmentally friendly and health-conscious lifestyles, their influence directly boosts sales in this niche market.
Technological Innovations in Product Formulations: Advances in cosmetic chemistry have enabled manufacturers to create high-quality non-toxic nail polishes that do not compromise on performance. New formulations offer long-lasting wear, glossy finishes, and a quick-drying nature, making them competitive with traditional polishes.
Market Trends
Expanding Product Range and Color Palette: Initially limited in variety, the non-toxic nail polish market now boasts an extensive range of colors and effects, from matte to shimmer and gel, without the use of harmful chemicals. Nail Polish: A Colorful Evolution The History and Science Behind Modern Nail enamel
Tumblr media
Early Origins and Nail Polish While nail enamel in its modern form was a 20th century development, the practice of decorating fingernails and toenails dates back thousands of years. Some of the earliest nail treatments and colorings were discovered in ancient Egypt, where both men and women regularly stained or painted their nails as a symbol of social status. Wealthy Egyptians would use kohl or henna to darken their nails, while poorer citizens were restricted from the practice. These early polishes were crude, often consisting of plant-based dyes mixed with oils or waxes to adhere to the nail plate. In Medieval Europe, red nail enamel made from crushed insects and fish scales became a popular aristocratic trend. However, the invention of synthetic dyes and new formulations revolutionized nail treatments in the late 1800s. In the late Victorian era, long, pointed, almond-shaped nails known as "spoon nails" became fashionable, and colorings grew more complex. By the early 20th century, specialized nail enamel was commercially produced and marketed directly to consumers as a beauty product. This marked a turning point where nail paint became widely available to the general public rather than a rare, conspicuous luxury. Formulation Nail Polish Early commercial nail enameles were oil-based formulas that stained the Nail Polish but lacked staying power. They had strong, unpleasant odors and caused damage when removed. A major advancement came in the 1930s with the invention of modern synthetic organic polymers that gave nail enamel its characteristic glossy shine and long-lasting application. The development of cellulose-based formulas allowed for thinner, drying polishes that adhered better without cracking or smudging. Polymers also enabled new tones and color effects that expanded options beyond traditional reds and light pinks. By the mid-20th century, advancements continued with the introduction of formaldehyde resin formulas. These provided better wear and facilitated easy removal without damage. Formulations also grew more refined, incorporating moisturizing and strengthening ingredients to improve nail health. The emergence of creative packaging and brush designs made application easier and more precise. The 1950s mark the modern nail enamel era, with a wide range of saturated hues and finishes available to the masses at affordable prices. Technology progressed further in later decades, giving rise to chip-resistant, long-wear varieties suitable for modern lifestyles. Modern Components and Manufacturing Today's nail enameles are emulsion-based liquid suspensions containing insoluble polymer pigments dispersed in a film-forming solution. Key components include: - Film formers (cellulose derivatives, formaldehyde resins) that dry to a flexible, durable coating protecting the nail. - plasticizers and moisturizers like glycols that keep the polish flexible and prevent chipping. - Solvents like water, ethanol or acetone to dissolve polymer formulas and adjust viscosity. - Pigments like iron oxides, chromium oxides or calcium aluminum borosilicate spheres that provide rich, long-lasting colors. - Preservatives like formaldehyde or formaldehyde releasers to prevent microbial growth. manufacturing involves meticulously blending proprietary polymer formulations with precisely controlled pigment dispersions and solutions. State-of-the-art milling techniques ensure homogenous mixtures down to nano scales for maximum luster, opacity and uniformity. Automated filling lines quickly and hygienically transfer finished polishes into bottles or convenient pen-style applicators for the global market. Quality control labs rigorously monitor each batch to maintain consistent performance and aesthetics.

Having good hand hygiene entails caring for your entire body, including your hands. Being able to give those worn-out hands a beauty lift and the chance to nail primer receive the sensitive loving care they so well deserve by using a wonderful brand and the appropriate colours. Make sure to choose a brand that encourages nail growth if you want to make your nails seem gorgeous and grow healthy with gel nails each application of the color you use. Look for companies that give the highest nail protection while also being created without any hazardous chemicals. Some people can provide weeks of chip-free polished nail experience. Better if you can obtain one.
SELECT THE BEST KIND OF NAIL POLISH TO USE
You might also need to think about the kind of finish you desire. Would you prefer to have acrylic nails? A gel polish or gel-like polish? Maybe a powder for dipping will do. Whatever you decide to use, keep in mind that the type of polish you use on each type will determine how long the coating lasts. Gel and dip powder nail treatments are made to be healthier for the nails and tend to last longer on the nails. You should either have a gel or an acrylic polish on your nails if you plan to have the same tint and shine for several weeks.
CHOOSE THE RIGHT SHADE FOR YOU
Think about the occasion or setting where you will be wearing those colors most of the time. Working hands who spend the majority of the day in a professional setting will benefit from neutral colors.
Going out for supper or a party? Draw them in with your fingernail. Choose one that demonstrates the bold side of a person who spends the majority of their waking hours at a workplace.
Do you have to attend a committee meeting, or are you going to make a formal presentation? You wouldn't want your nails to dominate the message you're trying to convey with words. Try using neutral or subdued hues.

PLEASING: A PRETENDED MARKETING MIX
Tumblr media
This is a basic structure for any marketing activation needed to put into works any business.
From what we see until now, this would be Pleasing's nail polish:
PRODUCT:
Concept: here
No primary (core) beauty routine
Nail polish Technology: Can be mixed in order to transform.
Usefulness: Top removal for more precise application
No packaging
Warranties of well-delivered + 24 months lasting since opened.
Design: extra large (perception) bottle.
Tumblr media
PLACE:
Worldwide e-shop (with exceptions)
Limited pop-up store during launch in LA
PRICE:
We will see shortly but they might be using penetration & psychological price strategies.
Medium-High price positioning [1.38€/ml individual]
Shipping: can play a handicap in the purchase decision stage. [Shipping: 10,00€ to €14,20€* + plus taxes]
Mass mrk: 0.65€/ml • OPI: 1,09€/ml • Channel: 2.07€/ml • Dior: 2.49€/ml
PROMOTION:
Pack: -18% off (1.13€/ml) & stickers
Teasing on Harry months previous to launch.
selected PR activation in USA & UK
Main campaign: Online Buzz.
Outdoor Ad: Just in the UK
Tumblr media Tumblr media
PROCESS:
Speciality consumption
Unknown industrial timing process. Probably rent a major existing one (such as many brands do).
Ljubljana (Slovenia) & London (UK)
TARGET:
Online Harry's fans.
PEOPLE & PHYSICAL ENVIRONMENT: Unkown
CONCLUSIONS:
The brand is relying on loyalty; whether a very safe promo + product (formula) are the channels to reach their goals. No need for packaging, sachets, testers, physical environment or other physical support (that other beauty brand has, not even the ambassador image fee since he is only the "voice") other than the logistic, which along the production are the major costs.
It is interesting to observe that the only investment a global brand as Pleasing has done is 1 slot of outdoor advertising in the UK (London, if I am not wrong) where there is actually NO point of sale at all and just right after the launch. Never announced before, never communicated a detail out of SM. Just a couple of screens with a date and a logo after Glendale's LOT show. It's the perfect equation. A couple more of this and all marketing experts and professionals can rest till eternity.

Makeup Packaging: How the Packaging Influences your Makeup Shopping Decisions
Tumblr media
Evolution of Makeup Packaging Makeup packaging has come a long way from the simple metal compacts and paper boxes of the early 20th century. As the needs and preferences of consumers have changed, so too has the design and functionality of makeup containers. Early on, manufacturers focused primarily on protecting the product and providing basic information. Over time, additional elements were incorporated to attract customers and influence purchasing. Let's take a look at some of the key developments in makeup packaging over the decades. In the first half of the 1900s, powder and rouge came in simple tins or cardboard boxes with minimal graphics. Lipsticks were cylindrical tubes or pots with a color swatch on the label. As mass production gained steam post World War II, plastic containers replaced metal for lower costs. This allowed for molded compacts in fun shapes and larger palettes. Glossy advertisements brought vibrant colors to magazines, creating demand for new styles. The consumer revolution of the 1960s ushered in disposable income and self-expression. Makeup went pop with bright packaging to match the youth culture. Revlon launched its trendsetting Pop Art nail polishes and lipsticks adorned in painterly prints. Clear plastic emerged for lip and eye products to better showcase shades. Sleek metallic tubes conveyed luxury for higher-end brands. Advancements in printing birthed graphic designs and bold typefaces in the 1970s-80s. Eyeshadow palettes took off as a way to build kits for different looks. Signature brand logos helped cultivate customer loyalty. In the 90s, limelight for gutsy colours like turquoise brought out futuristic finishes. Lightweight plastics and minis became portable must-haves. The 21st century saw Makeup Packaging pushed to new limits. From glittery exteriors to holographic shifters mimicking the products inside, flashy exteriors drew consumers to shelves. Sustainable bamboo and recycled tubes entered the scene. Customizable compacts allowed personalization. Complex molds created multifunctional components like built-in brushes or mirrors. Meanwhile, technological interfaces blurred physical and digital worlds. Impact of Sensory Marketing Advances in materials science and manufacturing now allow unparalleled creativity and interactivity in makeup applications. Whereas appearance was once the main focal point, sensory elements are equally important in engaging target audiences. The feel, sound and even smell of a product all influence the shopping experience. Brands employ these techniques to build emotional connections at points of sale. A well-designed container can enhance several senses on its own. Smooth plastic that's cool to the touch may translate quality, while premium metallic finishes signal luxury. The satisfying click of a compact or satisfying twist of a lipstick potentially triggers positive responses. Some go farther with touch-activated lights, music or voice memos inside. Layered fragrances on compacts may match scent to specific lip, eye or face palettes. On shelves, standouts make first impressions through vibrant palettes that jump off in peripherals. Glossy, holographic or textured exteriors catch attention where seconds matter most. Meanwhile, satisfying sensory aspects encourage handling time crucial to consideration and education. It's no surprise high-tech packaging coincides with top-selling prestige lines. Brands realize an immersive unboxing fosters attachment and increases lifetime customer value. Sustainable Innovations As environmental and ethical concerns rise globally, forward-thinking companies innovate with sustainability in mind. Post-consumer recycled plastic is a growing standard while bioplastics create plant-based options. Some new packaging utilizes recycled cardboard envelopes that fold flat for shipping. Refillable compacts reduce single-use waste by allowing replacement of powders or creams over time.
