I was gonna do more with this, but it was taking too long and I just wanted to get it finished.

Almost two months ago, I made a poll asking which pairing I should make art of next, and someone voted on Silash as the tie-breaker.

This is only my second render with them, and I want to do a lot more!

Nightmares

Currently running on anime and spite so I apologize for any poor quality content. This was requested by @bluepladin I hope you enjoy!

Pairing: Dylan x Ryan

warnings: nightmares; Abi died in this one; trauma; post-game; panic attack; but then fluffy and sweet

Teeth.

Gnashing teeth.

A long tongue writhing between glinting canines. Wild, dilated eyes flashing yellow in the moonlight. Vicious snarls tearing through the cabin.

Flesh ripped from bone. Head pried off shoulders. The screams and pleas of friends.

But they would be okay — the rest would be okay. This had happened before… hadn’t it? Yes, Dylan had seen it. The monster would leave, breaking through the window.

But where was the shattering glass? Why hadn’t the growling faded yet?

Claws scraped against wooden floors. Thuds of galloping paws grew rapidly closer. Someone —Ryan — cried out in pain as he was attacked but the creature kept running. Running directly at Dylan.

His mind screamed at him to move. His heart tugged at the loss of a friend and with worry for someone he wished was more. But he was frozen.

“Dylan!” Ryan shouted. Of course, it was too late. He couldn’t do anything and neither could Dylan.

Bright yellow irises mere inches from Dylan’s deep brown ones. A loud snarl and engulfing darkness pulled a scream from his throat.

Dylan shot up in bed, gasping, sweating, throat sore from… yelling, maybe? Or snoring. Ryan always complained that he snored.

“Dyl…?” Ryan’s sleepy voice croaked. Dylan loved Ryan’s sleepy voice. It was cute, and soothing right now.

Ryan rolled over and patted the spot where his boyfriend always slept. His hand met fluffy pillow, empty mattress, then Dylan’s back. Ryan’s eyes cracked open, and immediately widened. He sat up, “Dylan? Babe, what’s wrong?”

Dylan was trembling all over. His breathing was irregular and shaky. His hand was buried in his hair, gripping a handful. The nub that was left of the other was pressed against his sweaty forehead.

“P-Panic att-ack,” he managed. His voice wobbled, like he was choking on something. Tears?

“Shit,” Ryan whispered. He scooted closer to his lover, gingerly put a hand on his back. “I-I’m here. Shh, breathe, focus on my voice. On my hand.”

Ryan started rubbing circles on Dylan’s back.

“I’m right here. I’m not goin’ anywhere. Hey, look at me.”

Slowly but surely Dylan lowered his hands and met his boyfriend’s eye.

“Deep breaths, Dyl, c’mon. You can do it. Wanna do it with me?”

“Yeah— mhm,” Dylan gave a little nod. Ryan kept encouraging him, “Okay. With me then. In… out. In… out.”

They did that a few times, until Dylan’s breathing was mostly normal. Ryan gave him a while, held his hand. Finally Ryan asked, “Do you… wanna talk about it?”

“There’s not much to talk about,” Dylan sighed. “It was another nightmare about, uh, about that night.”

“At camp?”

“Yeah. The one about Nick… er, about Abi, when she…”

Even years later Dylan couldn’t get his friend’s death out of his head. Granted, she had been decapitated by the boy she liked after he turned into a werewolf so it was bound to stick. But the fact that Dylan was still having nightmares about it was just pathetic.

“God, I’m sorry babe,” Ryan said. “That night was hell, but that moment was… that had to’ve been one of the worst. I feel like I can still hear it.”

“Me too.” Dylan shifted closer to Ryan. “But this nightmare was different from what happened. Nick — killed — Abi, but didn’t run off. He hurt you and came for me.”

Ryan stayed quiet for a moment, considering responses, “Well, Abi may be gone, but so is Silas. Nick’s better. He didn’t attack me or you. We’re here and we’re okay. I’m okay.”

Dylan flashed a flirty smile, “Can I get some confirmation on that?”

Ryan scoffed and rolled his eyes, but he was smiling too, “C’mere.”

They tugged each other closer, laid back on the pillows, and pulled the covers up. They settled with Ryan’s arms wrapped around Dylan’s neck, his chin resting on his head. Dylan’s held Ryan’s middle, his face buried in Ryan’s chest.

Dylan filled his lungs with his boyfriend’s soothing scent, “Thanks, sweetheart. I love you.”

“I love you too, babe,” Ryan pressed a kiss to the top of Dylan’s head, nuzzled into his soft hair.

Kado (gay) loves his bi boyfriends (Midas and Lorenzo).

Piper (lesbian) loves her bi girlfriend (Mae).

Gnash (?) loves his asexual boyfriend (Silas).

Gnash died from being exposed to low temperatures for too long.

He got stuck behind debris after a building collapsed, and although he was uninjured, had no way of getting out. It was extremely cold, and he ended up freezing to death within a few hours.

(I don't have the details planned out, but he was found a few days later and taken to a lab where he was brought back to life.)

Because of this he hates the cold, is claustrophobic, and terrified of being alone. He hardly talks about these fears and puts on the persona of a cool, badass zombie, someone who's supposed to be scary.

Once he meets Silas, he ends up flirting pretty excessively. The snake doesn't like this, as he's very protective of his owner. (more on that here) But Silas doesn't mind, and enjoys having Gnash around.

Eventually they start dating, and Gnash becomes extremely clingy, constantly hugging Silas and grabbing his hand. One day the snake has had enough of this, and he bites Gnash hard, causing him to run off.

Silas is furious and removes the snake from his neck, setting him aside while he goes after Gnash. Silas apologizes for the reptile's behavior, but Gnash says he's the one who's sorry.

He explains how he died, which he'd never discussed with him before. The moments he was trapped are constantly replaying in his head, and he just wants to feel safe next to someone he loves.

Silas hugs him tightly, heartbroken after learning this. He tells Gnash that he never has to worry about being alone again, and he can hold onto him as much as he wants.

They're always cuddling now, often with blankets and heat pads. The snake has since softened up, and is on good terms with Gnash now.

Midenzo (Midas x Lorenzo) - It may seem random, and yes, I started shipping them just because they're my top two favorite characters. But they do have a connection through Meowscles, and I came up with a neat way to incorporate that into my headcanon for how they met. They mean everything to me. ♥️

Gnilas (Gnash x Silas Hesk) - Another random one, this time with no connection at all, but they're two of my favorites and I thought they would be cute together. It could be argued that Silas has a spooky vibe going on, and Gnash definitely does, and I think they go pretty well together.

PipMae (Piper Pace x Mae) - They share a battle pass, so not too random! I thought they would be adorable together pretty early on, but then Piper said something that made it ever better. During an early quest, she mentioned not wanting to make any friends, and that she was only doing heists for the money. But later on, she said you should meet her friend Mae. So it seems she warmed her way into her heart. 😊

Those are the ones I've made content for so far, but there are others I really like and will be sharing art of soon!

Silas's snake is very protective of him, especially when Gnash starts to take interest in the lavendar-haired boy.

He doesn't trust anyone who gets close to his human because of the fact that he's heir to a fortune. He's seen people use Silas before, acting as if they care for him when it's only wealth they're after. Pretending to be venomous and baring his fangs always scares those losers off, though.

Silas hasn't had any real friends because of this. If there were any genuine people wanting to know him, and not his money, they would be scared away by the snake. He really did love the scaly creature, who he considers family, but he was still lonely. He wanted other companions, but it seemed like they would never approach him now.

That's why when the strange zombie boy started hanging around, Silas became hopeful. He hadn't been frightened, no matter how many times the snake would hiss or strike at him. Gnash would just laugh and call it cute, then continue talking to Silas. He never asked about the fortune, and in fact would always offer to pay for Silas when they went out places.

The snake still didn't trust him though. He always kept a close eye on Gnash, ready to attack in an instant if he ever got too close to Silas. He was certain that if he let his guard down for a moment, something bad would happen. It's why he's constantly coiled around Silas's shoulders.

With Gnash, he was also worried for a couple of other reasons. For one, he was a zombie, and all the stereotypes from fiction left a bad image in the reptile's mind. He figured Gnash would try to kill and eat Silas, which both boys laughed at when they heard the ridiculous idea.

Gnash was also very flirtatious, which the snake found to be problematic due to Silas being asexual. However, Gnash has never tried to do anything perverted. He certainly loves to cuddle, hold hands, and kiss Silas, but doesn't ever try anything more.

Silas eventually has a talk with the snake and tells him things need to change. He explains that Gnash is a good, sweet guy, and though he's undead, has a heart bigger than any person he's ever met. They love each other, and the snake needs to respect that and give them space.

(This post is even better now that I've come up with this headcanon.)

We had to say goodbye to Silas today. Gnash was very emotional. 😔

It may be the last time they'll see each other in Battle Royale, but that's only one option. 👀

They went on a date right after this anyway, which is why Silas thinks Gnash is being silly.

The snake is tired of Gnash constantly showing up just to flirt with Silas.

He's like, "Really? This bitch again? Just ignore him Silas."

"Oh my god. Is this idiot really painting a giant heart on the floor?"

"Alright. Someone get this lovesick moron out of here."
