Graphene is a near perfect material in terms of its crystalline structure of pure carbon with strong bonds and with that comes many different applications for the material. However, if it's so good why aren't we seeing more uses of it? My views are the difficulty in manufacturing processes of obtaining this near perfect structure and then turning that into a useable substance. What do you think will be the breakthrough applications for graphene and how long (If ever) will until we see wide use of the material? #graphene #graphenebattery #carbon #materialscience #materials #manufacturing #electrical #electricalengineering #electronics #electronicengineering #automotove #automotiveengineering #aerospace #aerospaceengineering #engineering_memes #engineeringlovers #engineeringlife #engineeringblog #engineeringfirstprinciples #engineer #engineering #engineeringbasics #engineeringmemes #engineeringstudents #technology #innovation Original post by: engineering_first_pronciple https://www.instagram.com/p/BnLRcqPHp2U/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=16u3ise2c0b2t

Graphene Facts
Graphene is a single-layered two-dimensional honeycomb lattice-shaped allotrope of carbon. Stacking layers of it result in the formation of graphite that is another allotrope of carbon. The graphene exhibits exceptional properties that make it a semimetal acting as an electrical conductor and a thermal insulator.
