Summary: "I was wondering if I could get a Hawthorne!reader doesn't like Avery when she shows up for the reading of the will, reader doesn't get anything from her grandfather, and her brothers comfort her because she has nothing" (request)

Y/n didn't like Avery from the beginning. The girl seemed like trouble to her. She had never heard the name, she also didn't remember her face. A subtle frown tugged on her lips as she practically glared at the girl. Why would a random stranger be in her grandfather's will? It didn't make sense.

Her nerves were a mess as she waited for the will to be read. All of the Hawthorne's had finally showed up. Even if Nash had been late, and if Jameson was already drunk. She really needed to speak with him about his drinking habits. It was becoming constant. She would worry about that later, maybe talk to one of her other brothers first.

She quickly was snapped out of her thoughts as Mr. Ortega started reading the will. She had been distracted by Zara and Skye arguing. And maybe she had decided to stop paying as much attention as she should to todays events. She looked back to Me. Ortega anxiously.

"To my grandchildren, Nash Westbrook Hawthorne, Grayson Davenport Hawthorne, Jameson Winchester Hawthorne, Y/n Y/m/n Hawthorne, And Alexander Blackwood Hawthorne, I leave...." he paused for a moment before continuing. "Two hundred and fifty thousand dollars..." Y/n stopped listening after that.

What did he mean? Two hundred and fifty thousand dollars a piece was nothing compared to the over forty billion dollar fortune. And he hadn't said anything about the estates. She glanced back to Avery. What had this girl done?

"The remainder of my assets," Mr Ortega continued, "including all properties, monetary assets, and worldly possessions not otherwise specified, I leave to Avery Kylie Grambs."

The room exploded in a chorus of angry voices. Zara and Skye were upset that they received nothing, and Grayson looked like he might just kill Avery. His gaze was deadly as he stared at the girl, jaw clenched. Jameson was too drunk for many emotions, he but he looked very curious. And then their was Nash...

Nash looked surprised, but not like he cared very much. He never had about the families issues. Not after how horrible he had been treated by their grandfather. He realized it was toxic and got out.

Y/n left the room, going to an empty hallway. She leaned her head back, taking a deep breath. Nash appeared. He had his coat, and looked like he was probably on his way out. He gave her a comforting smile.

"It'll be okay kid," He said softly, leaning against the wall opposite of her. "I don't know how this happened... but I'm sure you'll figure it out. Good luck. And don't beat yourself up over it," he said as he gave her a hug and made his exit.

She mumbled several curse words before making her way back to her room. Whenever she arrived there, she could see Grayson waiting for her. To think, just yesterday the entire Hawthorne family thought either Grayson or Y/n would inherit the fortune. They had always been the most heir apparent Hawthorne's.

"I'm going to figure out how she did it," Grayson said coldly. He looked determined. He had to figure out how this mystery girl had manipulated his grandfather. There was no way some random stranger would get the entire fortune. Not whenever Tobias Hawthorne had spent years trying to mold his grandchildren into the perfect heirs.

"I'm sure you will," Y/n grumbled, sitting at her desk. She swiveled around in the chair, facing Grayson. She looked up at the ceiling, frustrated.

"It was supposed to be either me or you! Not some girl I've never even heard of!" Grayson said, his voice had lost some of its edge though.

Y/n shrugged, moving to sit on the bed next to Grayson. She patted his shoulder. She might be upset, but Grayson seemed even more upset. She had always thought he had the better chance so she wasn't as certain it would have been her. But for it to be a random girl? That was completely unexpected.

"I'm sure we will figure it out," She said with a soft sigh. Grayson nodded, standing to exit her room. He stopped in her doorway, looking back at her.

"I'll be back in the morning. I'll see what I can find tonight," He said before leaving and closing the door behind him.

Y/n had barely had time to change into some sweatpants, before Xander flew into her room. She shouted a curse as he bursted into her room. He gave her a smile, holding up a plate of scones.

"I know you're upset.... so you can have a blueberry one," He said with a smile as he plopped down on her bed. He crossed his legs and sat the plage of scones down. "And, I didn't even use the secret passage because it pisses you off."

She couldn't help the smile that brightened her face as she grabbed a blueberry scone. Xander grabbed a lemon one.

She would figure this out, with the help of her brothers or course. Nothing would ever be too difficult for a Hawthorne to figure out. Not with the way that their grandfather had guided, and trained, their minds to work.

Grayson x girl jameson reader hc?

- he'd absolutely HATE her at first because how much she reminds him of jameson

- would call her "trouble"

- she teases him a lot

- at first he'd pretend to hate it and act like he's not bothered by it

- but later he'd start teasing her

- she'd be the one to always push him out of his comfort zone

- when she's at hawthorne house, she would immediately bond with jameson (they'll be like siblings)

- gray would get a tad bit jealous

- but he knows he is his only pookie

- she, jameson and xander will pull pranks on gray all the time

- when he's sleeping, she'd draw stars or hearts on his stomach because gray sleeps shirtless and sleeps like DEAD

- he wouldn't wash it off soon

- he'd try to pull pranks on her as well

- he would say he her new ideas of 'fun' but end up loving them

- except if it was rollercoasters

- sometimes he gets worried because she wants to try something risky

1 - the character everyone gets wrong

JASON. MOTHER FUCKING. TODD

especially the fandom interpretation Titans version, but like damn

(even other canons get him wrong, and Titans did him so right and people refuse to acknowledge it)

(I could also say Lori Grimes, and Andrea Harrison, and Dick Grayson, and Michonne Hawthorne, and even Gar Logan tbh but this is the rant I am picking)

but I am not even so big on a lot of women's interpretation of comics Jason - as some big soft cuddle bug who just needs to be treated softly and cuddled uwu, someone who rip out the throat of anyone who looks at you the wrong way and basically acts like a big bad doberman guard dog in your life (someone possessive and angry and jealous in a love life). again - no

Jason is one of the most emotionally complex characters and the only people who truly understand him are me and Curran Walters.

Jason is a wreck. he was set up to fail - his backstory of poverty and sadness isn't just about giving him some revenge to seek or making him a more conventional criminal, it's his emotional core. everything that has ever happened to him in his life makes him who he is, and so many people don't understand those layers. (so many people don't even acknowledge the differences between him and Dick before Jason became Red Hood). Jason is depressed, he's insecure, he thinks that he's nothing but a problem in other people's lives.

he uses violence as a tool because it's all he's ever known. in a relationship, he would be difficult to connect with because no one has ever truly tried before. he wouldn't be instantly loving - he would be guarded as hell.

I could go on a long time, but anyway - Titans Jason is largely a thing that the show got right and so many people refuse to acknowledge it because they just want to mock Curran's looks and it makes me want to bash my head into things

2 - a compelling argument for why your fave would never top or bottom

I have to do it to em - Spencer Reid would never be a fucking dom. NEVER

(also I know that bottom and top aren't synonyms for dom and sub but I think this ask game was created with mostly mlm ships in mind, so I am talking about this in a dom/sub context because I mostly write and consume x reader fics with bdsm dynamics)

Spencer is a sub. anybody who says that he is a dom, even a 'soft dom' is fucking lying to themselves because they have a particular fantasy that they want him to fit into. even later seasons Spencer would never be a dom

just because someone has rage and acts intimidating towards someone they consider an enemy doesn't mean they would ever feel the confidence to actually be dominant and in charge in bed. that man is walked like a dog constantly by other people in his life, and the only time he 'takes control' of a 'romantic' interaction is when he is with Cat - someone he also considers to be an enemy, an unsub that he can psychologically control. see the pattern?

I have discussed this before, and I wish I had a screenshot because without proof it almost doesn't seem real

someone saying that Spencer loves Henry more than JJ does - in a massive post where they listed all the reasons that JJ 'ruined' Spencer's life (which just gobsmacked me)

that post was a huge inspiration for the JJ/Spencer friendship scenes in [REDACTED]

I just cannot believe that the fandom is so fucking detached and unrealistic about JJ

23 - ship you've unwillingly come around to

...Richonne

this is in large part from what I have seen about The Ones Who Live spin-off, and I recently realized that the title of the spin-off comes from a scene where Michonne punches Rick in the head in order to literally knock some sense into him, so I fucking love that (and it seems like that's what the whole show is - her literally forcing sense into him after he's become detached from reality due to being held hostage by whatever the fuck that group's name is)

and I think The Thrifty Typewriter really put their relationship into terms that I was struggling with. so many Walking Dead ladies were relegated to nothing but being 'the love interest' once they became a love interest to someone. and if they were struggling with what to do with a female character, they turned her into a love interest for someone

Andrea being paired with a Governor, Rosita not getting more interesting storylines until after she parted from Abraham, Sasha being with Bob and then Abraham and then dying (although I think Sasha has a lot of interesting emotional beats, I see the point in saying that), Jessie (who could have had so much potential outside of just being a love interest for Rick, especially when they clearly had Richonne in mind), Lori's entire existence, etc.

So my huge problem with Richonne is that Michonne was so interesting before she got with Rick. And after she got with Rick, she lost all of her interesting traits, and she was stripped down to 'Lori 2.0'. Pregnant housewife character who stays at home and almost never fights. Rick was spotlighted and she was almost never around until Rick drowned. And I think I loved The Ones Who Live because it gave her back a lot of her fire and her autonomy as well as adding more to the romance, so it was the best of both worlds. (And it really made me come around to the pairing.)

And another huge problem I had with Richonne is the same problem I have with Dickkory - people who ship them act like the entire show was created to drive the ship. And the shippers get really annoying because they act like all the other interesting characters and plot lines do not exist. They act like the producers and writers made the show as a vessel to carry the single ship when that is clearly not the case.

For Dickkory, people boil Dick and Rachel's entire relationship down to 'omg, she is Dickkory's child' - which is very annoying. And for Richhone, people act like Andrea just does not exist, when she pulled Michonne out of a very dark place - Rick did not do that. Michonne said so herself. Andrea is a very important character in Michonne's story.

Anyway - I do like Richonne a lot now. More than I ever expected I would
