Author's Note: Look! It's a Christmas miracle, I am back! I have gotten your requests, and messages and I'm sorry I haven't done much but the writer's block continues to be so real. I will get to all of them soon, I promise. Nevertheless, I tried my best for my bestie @ittynyte's birthday and wrote this little thing for her. Love you, KT! I hope you guys like it!

You never intended to fall in love with Kate Bishop. It was just simply the easiest thing you ever did, as natural as filling your lungs with fresh air. From the moment you met, you always felt drawn to her, overwhelmed by her essence but unable to ever get enough of her. Her energetic personality kept you on your toes, and her charm and innate ability to make everything seem okay made it incredibly difficult to ever stay mad at her if she got herself into trouble, which happened much more often than you’d like. You weren’t sure of many things but, at least, you were sure of Kate Bishop. 

You, however, were never completely certain of where you stood with her. You had known once, for years. You were just friends, and you never dreamed of crossing that line with her. You were happy with what you had but things between the two of you had evolved. 

It happened shortly after Christmas. Kate showed up at your door, high on adrenaline, rambling on about whatever new dangerous situation she had gotten herself into and the next thing you knew, she had her lips pressed to yours in a way nobody had ever kissed you before. You didn't even have time to react. You blinked, and Kate was five feet away, sputtering apologies that went along the lines of "just being excited and never going to do it again", almost walking out of the door in her panic. Next thing you knew, you were running after her down the hall and bringing her back in. 

It all changed from that point forward. You never really described what you had but you knew she was more than just your best friend, just not technically your girlfriend either. Kate Bishop belonged to the city of New York, to her compromise to protect innocent lives and become the greatest Hawkeye the world had ever seen. You knew she was still mourning her losses, adapting to the new life her mother's absence had brought her. Obviously, defining what you had wasn’t an urgent matter. It could wait. You were more than willing to take what she gave you and allow her to take what she needed despite the annoying voice in your head trying to convince you Kate was only latching onto you because you were the last thread of normalcy and consistency in her life. You were determined to enjoy your time with her for as long as you could. 

You were brushing your teeth to go to bed when you heard the front door open and close. You spat out the remnants of your toothpaste, the crackling of the hardwood floors your only indication that the intruder was coming your way. You tapped on your phone, bold numbers marking 12:35 AM staring back at you. 

"I thought you were on patrol tonight," You said as the intruder came into view. 

"Change of plans," Kate responded leaning on the door frame and crossing her arms over her chest. "Clint says I need to take a break." 

"I agree," You said, rinsing your toothbrush. "You haven't stopped in a while." 

Kate sighed, extending one of her hands towards you. You took it, and she pulled you closer, lazily wrapping her arms around you. Your hands found her cheeks, your thumbs lightly brushing over the newest scrapes on her face. 

"I think about my mom when I stop," Kate confessed in a whisper. "I kinda miss her." 

"You could go see her, you know," You said, dropping your hands to her shoulders. "I could go with you." 

"No, I'm not ready yet." Kate shook her head. "And that's not why I'm here, anyway." Her hands landed on your hips, pulling your body towards her. "I missed you." 

"I missed y–" 

You were interrupted mid-sentence by Kate's lips on your own. Your arms circled her neck, and her mouth parted open, taking on your bottom lip. A soft whimper escaped you, the grip on your hips tightening. As it would happen every time Kate showed up at your door like this, your world simply stopped. You were trapped in time, at that moment, in an eternity that encapsulated your very being with hers. Kate deepened the kiss, her movements slow and unhurried, gentle in a way it filled your heart. You soaked in her essence, responding to her silky kisses in steady breaths, treasuring every single moment you got to feel her be yours, however momentary. 

The kiss died down naturally, Kate’s forehead resting against yours while her breathing returned to normal. Soft sapphire eyes stared at you intensely, bringing one of her hands up and tracing the ball of your bare shoulder with her fingertips. The brunette didn’t even move an inch, as if the lack of proximity would kill her if she did. 

“Hi,” Kate whispered, the back of her thumb stroking your cheek. 

You giggled. "Hi." 

"I missed you." 

"You said that before." 

"Yeah, but I really did," Kate shrugged. "I'm out there fighting bad guys while you're here looking so…" she trailed off with a huff, drawing a small smile on your lips. 

"So what?" 

"Comfy," Kate scrunched up her nose, leaving a soft peck on your cheek. "Warm. I wish that were me right now, to be honest." 

You rolled your eyes goodnaturedly, shaking your head. "Come on, let's fix that then." 

You intertwined your fingers as you led her back into the bedroom for her to get changed. You attentively listened to her every story, random tales from her adventures you had heard a million times, but you relished in the excitement and the happiness behind every single one of her words. It was moments like that one that made you feel like it would be worth it to get your heart broken if this wasn't as real to her as it was to you.  

When she finally laid her head on the pillow next to you, those three traitorous words you had avoided for so long to say wanted to come out of your throat at the sight of her. It took all of your willpower not to say it. It wasn't time yet. Instead, you settled with letting your fingers linger on her back, tracing her spine, watching her melt under your touch. 

"I wish I could stay here with you all the time," Kate said, her voice barely a whisper. "This is so nice." 

You smiled. "Now that would be impractical. When would we eat? Or go to the bathroom?" 

Kate chuckled, shifting her position enough to look at you. "You know what I mean." 

"I do and you do always know where to find me, Kate. I'm always here for you, you know. You're kinda stuck with me." 

The blue in Kate's eyes sparkled like the starriest of nights as she looked at you, something inevitably shifting in the air. You held her gaze, unconsciously holding your breath as you did. 

"You promise?" Her voice was barely a whisper. It was small, and fragile as if she was scared of the answer. And maybe she was, you couldn't tell. You only knew you'd do anything for her. "'Cause I can't do this without you, Y/N, I really can't. You're my rock." 

Your hand moved from her back to push a loose strand of black hair out of her face. "You won't ever have to. I'm here to stay." 

Kate smiled, satisfied with your answer. She leaned in, pressing another kiss to your lips before returning to her previous position in your arms, her face now safely tucked in the crook of your neck. Silence took over the room, warmth, and comfort taking you in its soft embrace. The last thing you heard before you succumbed to slumber was a faint I love you that lingered in the air. 

You never felt more at peace.

Happy birthday Scottish TV host and entertainer Craig Ferguson born in Glasgow, on May 17th, 1962.

Ferguson was born in Stobhill Hospital and brought up not far from where I now live in nearby Cumbernauld. He admits to growing up "chubby and bullied" At age sixteen hen left Cumbernauld High School and began an apprenticeship to be an electronics technician at a local factory of American company Burroughs Corporation.

In the early 1980s, Ferguson drummed in punk bands for a few years before a bartending job led him to Michael Boyd, the artistic director of the Tron Theatre. Boyd talked Ferguson into giving acting a shot, which Ferguson soon did, finding the comedy prong of the art too compelling to ignore.

Ferguson soon created an outrageous—and successful—stage character called Bing Hitler. On top of the local success he was experiencing, Ferguson used the experience as a backdrop from which to move into mainstream acting roles.

Craig Ferguson’s first TV appearance came on an episode of the sci-fi sitcom Red Dwarf in 1988, and it was enough to get Ferguson to head overseas to the United States for his first role on American TV. The part was playing a teacher in the pilot episode of High (1989), which starred Gwyneth Paltrow and Zach Braff. The pilot wasn’t picked up, though, and Ferguson headed back to Scotland.

In 2017 he released a six-episode web show with his wife, Megan Wallace Cunningham, titled Couple Thinkers. For two seasons from 2021, Ferguson hosted the American game show The Hustler, which airs on ABC.

In 2022, an adaptation of Ferguson's film Saving Grace (2000) was announced as a stage musical in which Ferguson will portray a "villainous banker". It was adapted by April De Angelis from Ferguson's and Mark Crowdy's screenplay, with music by fellow Scot KT Tunstall. In October 2022, the musical was confirmed to run for a limited twelve performances at Riverside Studios from 22 November until 4 December 2022 as an "intimate first run.

The rumor mill has been buzzing that Craig is thinking about returning to the talk show ranks In a recent interview he said;

“I have meetings next week in Los Angeles for a show,” Ferguson said, calling from New England while on vacation with his family. “I’m considering doing a show but I just don’t want to do one every day. I like doing a talk show, but not enough to do it every single day.”

Something I noticed about Haruka's change in t2 is that he says he likes the way he is now and supposedly gained more confidence, but the rest of his answers in seasons 2's interrogation are still self deprecating. Saying how no one is like him cause "no one is likehim cause they are all great people, everything (about him) is wrong, etc.". My guess is what he gained wasn't confidence, it was his innocent vote and Muu's influence that temporarily rubbed off on him. Think about it: Muu's personality did a whole 180 when she was voted innocent. She went from being shy and timid to becoming a queen bee which is what her 'true personality' is. Haruka, while he learned to become more social, was still unsure of himself. He couldn't fathom why someone like him was forgiven (what he sings in akaa) but still takes it. But why?

Cause it's what Muu does. They were both given an inch and took a mile

It's pretty clear Haruka is heavily attached to Muu (he even says his current self only exists because of her), but I think Muu influenced him to think that forgiven = what he did wasn't wrong. Since it seems like it is also her own mindset. But before, Haruka knew what he did was wrong and felt remorse, while Muu always thought she was in the right cause (her words: It's your fault for doing horrible things to me)

Also, confident people do not form unhealthy attachments like this and threaten to kts for someone else. Haruka did not gain confidence, he gained temporary relief from someone else

And this isn't to say Muu is abusive or doesn't care about Haruka at all, but it's still so incredibly unnerving to influence someone that's already broken like this

Thank you so much for this. I've wanted to talk about this for a while, I feel like the fandom overlooks just how deeply Muu influenced (and probably continues to influence unless their codependency starts to break in T3) Haruka. Not that shes evil or abusive or anything of the sort, but unfortunately their attachment styles create the most awfully perfectly fitting puzzle piece

Haruka looks down on himself so much, he wants more than anything to be a "smart, strong and interesting person" in his own words. As a result he is constantly searching for someone to latch onto and mirror, trying to create a new identity for himself, because he just doesn't see any part of himself that is worth keeping (BPD Haruka headcanon comes in...) Haruka still believes he's wrong, that he's worthless, but he's desperately looking for any solace albeit temporary or fake. A confirmation bias I think?

Something that comes into mind when proving this point, is that when Muu talked about Kotoko's attacks in her 2nd VD, she mentioned that those who were attacked were "deemed bad people by the Guard" as in they were scary and cruel, but Es, who so kindly believed that Muu wasn't at fault by giving her an innocent verdict, had deemed those people at fault, so they kinda deserved it, in her view. When Haruka was asked about what he thought of Kotoko's attacks, he said something similar, but then we see him in Mikoto's 2022 birthday TL coming to check up on him, showing compassion, wanting to wish him a happy birthday, even though Mikoto was voted guilty in T1, he should be a bad person in Haruka's book as well, but I think that shows he doesn't really believe what Muu was saying, he just doesn't think of his opinions as worthy so he latches onto those of the people he looks up to, the authority figures (Muu, Es) (I could talk about this for a while...). Also, in the newest collab, one of Haruka's lines were "Mikoto-san is a good person" but I'm not sure exactly when in the canon timeline that takes place (as in, before or after T2) (I'M SORRY I JUST HAVE TO BRING UP 0109 SIBLINGS HERE THEIR DYNAMIC IS SO IMPORTANT TO ME)

I do think Muu feels guilt and is just as broken, just in different ways, and she copes with her own issues differently, but I won't go offtopic... but yes I completely agree with what youre trying to say here. That Haruka is largely under Muu's influence, and it's heartbreaking. I often think about how an innocent verdict in T1 without Muu's influence would've helped Haruka gain some actual confidence and maybe even start to develop some sense of identity and independence. When I see Haruka T2, when I listen to his VD, his MV, all I see is... not Haruka. As in, Haruka under someone else's influence, breaking even more. It's not either of their faults, again! But god is this codependency going to take a toll on him for a while.

Like, come on, you can't tell me the boy who gives the most birthday wishes, says that all the prisoners are good people unlike him, says he would forgive everyone but certainly not himself, is a confident, guilt-free person. Half a Soul by Olivia Atwater {5 stars} - A very sweet fae fantasy. Dora Ettings is one of my favorite book characters I've read this year.

Idol Lives by KT Salvo {3 stars} - A satisfying conclusion to the trilogy of books about these two. I say that because the author is continuing the series next year but changing protagonists to kpop idols competing in a survival show.

Light of Stars (and the Destroyer) by Sanguis - MDZS AU

My Summer of You, vol 2-3 by Nagisa Furuya {4 stars} - Finished up this manga series and loved it. Slowest of slow burns, but seeing Wataru and Chiharu get more comfortable with each other and their relationship over the summers was wonderfully nostalgic.

There is such an interesting contrast between the intimacy portrayed in two of the shows I'm watching as they air: Sunset x Vibes is suggestive and takes its time, leaving a lot to the imagination. 4 Minutes is filmed closely, sometimes bluntly and it feels like you see practically everything. I think in practicality, you don't, which is even more fascinating and just shows how important filming style is to the mood and feel of a scene.

4 Minutes, ep 4 - I was happy to see more back story filled in for Tonkla and Korn's relationship, but it really highlighted how little we know about Tyme. He's the second lead and yet the show is very focused on Tonkla when it's not following Great. Yet another thing to pay attention to on my binge rewatch. The highlight of the episode was that last scene between Tyme and Great. The focus stayed with Great's adrenaline rush longer than expected and it was lovely how Tyme's tenderness in response led to their first sex scene. It was just very well done all around. (Even though I found myself wondering where Great found a glamping yurt at that time of night and on such short notice.)

Life: Love on the Line (Director's Cut) {finished: 5 stars} - Um wow. My heart is full and yet again I've got no way to describe how a jdrama has left me feeling. It lived up to every good thing I've heard about it over the years. And the framing device using their ages was genius.

Monster Next Door, ep 4 - I really liked how deftly the show treated Diew taking steps outside his comfort zone, with God's very sweet support and encouragement. Also, God is a very funny drunk. I do wonder what God's character development will be because if they've hinted at it I missed it completely.

Sunset x Vibes, ep 10 - The past life scenes I've been waiting for yay. Does Sun have a past life too? He's not having dreams so I'm inclined to think no, which is disappointing because I like the shared reincarnation trope. I am still all ::chinhands:: about the way Sun is with Lin. I love him.

I just rewatched S1 bc Netflix, idk if im gonna go into S2 bc it aint on Netflix but i do have questions!!

- We figure out that only a descendant of Amneris can restore the Cup right? So, Nina.

- why was Sarah considered a Chosen One during S2? was she also a descendant?

- if she was a descendant, that means she and Nina are related which isn’t the wildest theory— makes a lot of sense actually. but, if she’s a descendant via her father, would that make KT a possible Chosen One as well?

- Rufus Zeno was considered the Osirian remember?

- then it was Eddie, but what exactly is the Osirian? (asking for a girl who hasn’t rewatch s2 in a minute)

- is it not related to your bloodline? because in the movie, Eddie lived while the Osirian part of him died. did it just pass from Rufus to Eddie when Rufus became unworthy or something? Or are Rufus and Eddie, and therefore Mr. Sweet possibly all related?

- off topic but never forget that Mr. Sweet and Jerome’s dad knew each other because they both attended Anubis House as teenagers. and they more than likely had Victor as a caretaker as well. isn’t that wild. imagine Jerome’s dad in Anubis House, happy and relieved to be out of prison, and then boom! there’s that creep-raven-obssesed-i-want-to-hear-a-pin-drop-bastard still looking the exact same age. must’ve been a nightmare.

Sarah was a Chosen One in season one as well! That's why Nina didn't start heavy hearing voices and talking to the house until after Sarah died :( Nina is the "true" Chosen One bc the thing they were being chosen for was to rebuild the Cup of Ankh and only Nina did that. It's implied that Nina will be the last Chosen One, meaning when she dies there won't be another one to take her place like she did with Sarah, because the goal has been achieved. Now there was some open-ended stuff with the Chosen One with the "not allowed to be around the Osirian" thing, so that might not be accurate.

From what I understand, to be a Chosen One you have to be a descendent of Amneris (meaning that Sarah and Nina are distantly related) and you have to be born on all the same number. Sarah was born on the first hour of the first day of the first month (1AM on January 1st) and Nina was born on the seventh hour of the seventh day of the seventh month (7am on July 7th). KT is also a descendant (I think? ig the Amneris could be from Sarah's mother but I feel like it was always implied that her father was the start) but can't be a chosen one because there can only be one at a time and that's Nina. I also don't remember if KT's birthday was ever stated. Also fun thought: this means Nina and Joy are also probably distantly related!

Not as much about the Osirian is known but I imagine it's in a similar vein. The job of the Osirian is to protect the Chosen One. Rufus was the Osirian during the generation that Sarah was the Chosen One (and failed his duty), and Eddie was the Osirian during the generation that Nina was the Chosen One. Similarly, Eddie's Osirian abilities didn't fully develop until Rufus was near death and then dead. It's implied that Mr. Sweet knew that Eddie was the next Osirian, which implies that it's also based on birthdate, but we don't know the details of that, or who the original Osirian was (by comparison Amneris being the original Chosen One). This also suggests Eddie and Mr. Sweet are related to Rufus. The movie was kinda wack but I think it was just that Eddie gave up his abilities as an Osirian and like Nina would be the last Chosen One, Eddie was the last Osirian so when he gave it up it just died instead of passing onto someone else for the next generation.

 Happy Birthday Scottish singersongwriter  KT Tunstall

Edinburgh born singer-songwriter KT Tunstall is one of Scotland's most successful musicians having sold over six million albums worldwide.

Kate “KT” Victoria Tunstall was born on this day 1975,  her birth mother was a  Hong Kong-born exotic dancer, who put her up for adoption her parents David and Rosemary Tunstall adopted her and raised her in St Andrews, she has always been aware that she was adopted. 

Strangely enough for a musician of her magnitude, KT Tunstall did not grow up in a musical household. Her parents’ only tape was a Tom Lehrer album on tape, leading Tunstall to discover the world of music entirely on her own , but it didn’t hold her back, KT was musical from an early age, learning to play piano, flute and guitar as a teenager.

KT moved to the USA, hungry for experiences and independence, she gained a scholarship to Kent School in Connecticut, New England. Whilst out there KT spent time on a hippy commune and formed her first band, The Happy Campers, she also spent a lot of time on busking in Burlington, Vermont.

After her time in the U.S she enrolled in a  music course at Royal Holloway College in London, before finally moving back to St Andrews, she joined a group of folk musicians from around the East Neuk  called The Fence Collective, which included the very talented Kenny Anderson aka King Creosote, in time she decided folk music was not for her and went on her way.

She began writing projects with Swedish songwriter/producer Martin Terefe and London-based Orcadian Jimmy Hogarth and London’s Tommy D. She started work on her debut album with her new band and legendary U2/New Order/Happy Monday’s producer Steve Osborne at the helm. ‘Eye to the Telescope’ saw her whittle down a massive catalogue of over 100 songs to just 12.

Luck played a part in her big break when due to another artist pulling out she appeared on  'Later With Jools Holland’ performing ‘Black Horse and the Cherry Tree’ it went on to become one of the most played songs of the summer. Her double platinum selling debut album 'Eye to the Telescope’ was nominated for the prestigious Mercury Prize. 

KT has now had 6 top 20 albums, the latest, Wax was in 2018, it reached number 6 in Scotland and 15 in the UK charts, her new album, Nut, is due out in September.

I remember her being interviewed on The Proclaimers, This is the Story documentary in 2017, where she chose their excellent song Scotland’s Story, commenting “Scotland’s Story just really struck me as quite a different song for them, that they were really saying something incredibly poignant and quite brave. It’s quite a critical song of the way that Scotland’s history is logged.

“Here we are in 2017 and it couldn’t be a more poignant, relevant song for what’s going on in the world and I just thought for right now, it’s an amazing song to sing.”
