background: - born to kruti and bruce messer- they seemed like your average middle class couple - but from a young age, bruce’s temper started flaring more and more and he took it out on hudson and her older brother, sullivan - kruti tried her best to protect her children from her husband’s abuse, but, usually, it would just end up with him taking it out on her - she has always been very close to her mom, her mom is very quiet and very unlike her and as hudson got older she tried to protect HER from bruce instead of the other way around - she grew up really close to her brother, but he left as soon as he turned eighteen- she was sixteen- and she hasn’t seen him since - they talk via text and call from time-to-time, but she feels like he abandoned her and they are, pretty much, estranged - hudson has started uses drugs to numb her feelings more and more, it started out just as recreational drug use, but now she does it alone and when she’s not partying and it’s starting to become a problem, but she’s ignoring it like she largely does her trauma  - she stumbled upon the record shop about two years ago and impulse applied  - she also works as a bartender at outside voices at night 

personality: - has a really hot temper - she’s aggressive and really angry at the world- and who can blame her? - she’s extremely stubborn and usually pretty pessimistic - very protective of those she’s close to, but she’s RLY hard to get to know on a deeper level - self-medicating heavy, is actually fairly nice when she’s drunk/high  - she DOES want her life to be different and she wants to create positive change for herself and other people, but she’s super cynical too and doesn’t know if it’ll ever work out - Sad and Angry Girl - will fight anyone for no reason - will tell you to get your shit together even though she has hers 0% together - is actually a good friend if you get close enough for that - is afraid of getting too close to people only to realize that they’re not what she expected- ie what happened to her mom w her dad - doesn’t sleep very much bc she has nightmares, so she just kinda stays up until… she can’t anymore
