>>In this post, I, Nox, Former Demon, will elaborate on the unique trials one such as myself faces when suddenly and unexpectedly set into a living form, uncleansed of my history, and all too aware of how and why things are, as well as the nature of the body and soul’s interactions.
To start with, I first need to explain how to e body and soul each uniquely affect elements of a person’s being. Mainly, what elements come from what. To start with, I’ll start with the soul.
The soul is the origin of a person’s individual identity. The thing that says I am Nox or I am Asa or whatever else. The soul determines how one thinks, how one speaks, what one likes or dislikes. Unsurprisingly, the soul is the thing that drives your hopes and dreams and wants. But the soul isn’t something that stays in any one stagnant state of being. If it were, cleansing post mortem wouldn’t be necessary. The soul changes shape based on its surroundings, it builds habits and tendencies. The cleansing puts the slate blank, or at least as close to blank as manageable as the process isn’t infallible, mistakes are made, things get left behind or even picked up and imperfections are a given. And of course, the soul is bound to change once it’s in a form.
And a lot of this is because it is placed into a body that is hard wired certain ways.
To best illustrate this point, I often like to highlight handedness. In my past life, I was left handed, something that contributed to my military success with the HRE. But now that I share my form with Asa, we’re both right handed. This extends to other factors as well. The way your brain is wired, the chemicals that flow through your blood, injuries and medical conditions and puberty, all of it will have some sort of impact on how your soul melds to its form. Sometimes things are good fits, others the imperfections from the cleansing cause clashes. That’s why some people thrive in life and others struggle to exist.
I mention all of this to set up for the main subject I would like to discuss. That being neurodivergence. I don’t think it would come as a surprise to anyone if I say that neurological imperfections are a factor of the body and not the soul, elements a person is born with and cannot change but may change them as a result. Autism, ADHD, Tourette’s, OCD, Bipolar, so on so forth, these are all elements with how you are physically put together and while some can be treated others cannot, and you either need to be adapt to it or let to rule you.
Having said this, it shouldn’t come as a surprise that one who spends a long time without a body isn’t used to these kinds of conditions. A thousand years of having no physical wiring, suddenly shunted into a human form will have a pretty harsh adjustment period.
I was probably neurotypical before, even in my past life. Now, I’m in a body with adnd and probably autism as well. And I won’t lie, I kinda hate it.
I find myself sleeping in most days. Asa may wake up before I do, taking her medications most mornings. I think that the stimulant probably helps stir me most days. I remember they played a strong factor in my remembering who I am, giving the room to focus and think. And now they help me pull myself off of the couch in our shared headspace. But I’m not without difficulty. I’m far more forgetful than I once was, I can get affixed to certain things far more easily than ever before… to be honest I hate it but there’s only so much I can do. I’ll survive, as long as I need to anyway.
Some of you may be wondering where gender identity comes from after this explanation. And the answer is, partially body, partially soul. It should be obvious that imperfections in the cleansing play a role, but also the way the brain is wired, and how both your brain and soul ultimately react to hormones. It’s a mess, and it’s a mess that after all these years isn’t going away. That’s just the nature of the cycle. Imperfections are a necessary component of existence, and people really should understand that anymore. If they don’t, they don’t willingly.
If you’re now wondering about my own identity, sharing a form with Asa, let me abridge it. Asa is a trans woman due to imperfections in her cleansing, she is also partially inhuman due to her history as a demon and exposure to Nel, whose power had an effect on those around them. As for myself, my masculinity has never been too core a factor to me as a person. I spent so long embracing inhumanity that I only barely perceive myself as human, and in more recent times, I’ve found myself adjusting both to the wild energy Nel puts out as well as the femininity that comes from Asa’s and my shared existence in an estrogenized body. Asa is, to quote her, a “Transfeminine Human-Adjacent Dog Thing”, meanwhile I would best be described as “Xenogender”, as well as, with some reluctance in saying as much… a femboy. I hate that word but it’s accurate.
Asa’s pronouns are She/It. Mine are They/It/He. It’s an awkward situation, sharing this form, but I’ve had enough time to get over the initial shock and just only be mildly annoyed.<<

Take a Closer Look Into The Flow Form Construction Of HRE Wheels
With manufactures using different techniques to develop a wheel, many companies have mastered the production of all of these processes. One fault in these companies is not having the research behind what they are making. HRE has found massive success using the single process of flow forming and has the data to prove it.
After years of research and refinement, HRE has honed its skills in the flow form process. HRE opens its doors to give us an in-depth look at the development of a wheel from start to finish.
Why Choose HRE?
The process of flow forming comes with trials and tribulations, as does any construction technique. One thing that sets HRE out from the rest is the fact that they test each and every wheel design. This ensures the utmost quality before delivering to any customer.
Each wheel is rigorously tested with increased stress that simulates real-world driving. Using highly-advanced equipment allows for stress points to be visualized so engineers can add or remove material in specific areas. This improves the durability and longevity of the wheels.
Before HRE lets a wheel leave the factory it goes through multiple quality control checks. Many of these QC checks are done throughout the whole manufacturing process to remove any wheels with the slightest imperfection. Taking these out of the line allows every wheel delivered to your doorstep to be pristine.
Why Should I Buy Flow Form Wheels?
Using the flow form method provides customers with the security of knowing their wheels can handle more than they throw at it. The construction gives a lightweight product that proves immense strength compared to standard cast wheels. This makes it ideal for track use and other race applications.
Due to the increased strength, HRE is able to incorporate unique spoke designs without sacrificing durability. The sporty spokes are known for being slim to showcase the brakes that are usually hidden behind hideous factory wheels. To take a further look into HRE’s factory, watch the YouTube video below!

if you won't mind could you share your fave hetalia artists??????????
Idon’t know anyone on this list personally, so hopefully I won’t be bothering anyoneby tagging them here. They were the first people that came to my mind so I couldn’tadd many talented people on this list :(
@ellmovy : How they stylize facial features of a figure isjust… incredibly gravitating. What I really admire about their art especiallyis how they can do this while staying true to the original designs of thecharacters. And oh the diversity they bring with this! And it’s not only thediversity of shapes of the eyes or the skin tones- how each character has aunique smile to themselves, how corner of their eyes crinkle, how the lightilluminate parts of their face- there is always so much to explore.
The colors they use are also another thing they never fail towork with masterfully. Toned down palettes with balance of light and shadowsthey create polarize their prominently bolder drawing style and gives thedrawing another depth. It’sjust… incredibly pleasing to look at,,,
,,,
@kisamesfacioplegia : Ireally don’t know where to begin to be fair. Not only their historical content isso well put together and reflected, simplicity of their color composition andhow they can make this a stylistic element is beyond great. they have such a strong hold on understanding colors and creating a narrative with it. perhaps this is especially the case because of their extensive knowledge on the concepts & topics they base their pieces on.
another thing is that- their HRE & Prussia are just? the best?? their approach to their design is marvelous and their headcanons for these two always are on point and a delight to dig into more!
,,,
@gnostic-heretic : Ah they have such an elegant style! The vintage& baroque vibe, the balance between curvatures and sharp edges! Their sketchesare always drawn so smoothly and have such a natural texture to it. Their useof ink has its own opulent trademark on their art and just looking at how theyconduct such flows with ink and continuous consistent patterns they use neverfails to be incredible.
Otherthing I really want to add to this is the way they draw hands! While I can saythe same thing for their figures in general, how he inks the hands gives themsuch solid form yet they still keep a delicate charm to themselves.
,,,
@yelyzavetaart : Toconfess now, they were the one who got me into hetalia with their art, haha. how clean their sketches are and  drawing without letting the lead smearnever fail to strike me. building up volumes at certain partsand keeping balance of lines crossing each other- these especially are two things they perfected in their art.
The content itself- the research that must go for each- I learn new things from the notes they add as context for their pieces. oh and the clothes! The clothing they draw! I simply don’t know where to start to tell how much I love the glimpse of historical fashion in their art.
,,,
@anneimator : Theirstyle is just adorable! The monochromatic sketches with cartoon likeexpressions! Their art is just so soft and it makes me happy! After a long day, there is nothing better than just some soft content to just enjoy and ah their art of France showing love to others is always so nice to see! Also they dragged me into the hell that is turkfra so here i am, forever grateful for them for this haha.
,,,
@aph–lietuva : I… don’t know where to start. Their knowledge on history and how well they blend this to their art- everything they add, whether it would be an embroidery or just a small accessory, not only they add to their work, but also strike historical accuracy. how they prioritize this, and how they work on every detail without running away from it… there is always more to discover, or to read between the lines of.
And their characterizations of the nations! It’s just so on point! I really enjoy reading their small comics and ideas on nations, they always being so well thought out.
,,,
@tractymart : I actually recently discovered their art but I have to say, their style is magnificent! at some pieces, their figures and shapes are so bouncy it creates a flow, and at others, how they use solid forms makes the person focus on the color compositions they create so masterfully! and while this is the case, they still manage to keep such a consistent style.
one thing that strikes me is how they use exaggeration of certain elements as a part of the composition- I don’t think I will ever not love the ‘tiny merchant’ concept of italy with the pointy nose!
,,,
@elisabethillustration (@ask-risorgimento-italy) : I added both of their blogs because, while I first discovered their art through their ask blog, I didn’t want this to be taken as i only talk about their ask blog.
Perhaps the most prominent part of their art overall is their approach to narrating- whether it would be on a bigger scale such as in the continuous storyline of their ask blog or in their individual work. And their animations- their style of animating- it feels so natural, not only in terms of the figure but the lines and transitions between each small change in the movement. Its hard for me to explain what I exactly mean.
their style is even harder for me to explain- their lines are so clean and their style seems simple, yet it is not. It had depth, differentiation in volumes. Let it still carries its natural aspect of it. It has such a unique charm to it.
,,,
@stirringwinds : they were one of the first artists i started to follow when i first came to the fandom. it may not be the main focus of their art but the way they draw the eyes is sharp and harsh in the best way. they can convey such strong emotions with only a portrait of a character and this is especially incredible to me because, the historical periods they put the focus on are the parts of history where the international relations were on harsh edges. not only the eyes but the narrative they tell really underlines this. perhaps this is one of the reasons the storytelling of their pieces are so prominent and natural in a way. just… the tension is magnificently crafted.

The Nobel Prize in Physiology for Medicine 2019
Tumblr media
he Nobel Assembly at Karolinska Institutet has today decided to award the 2019 Nobel Prize in Physiology for Medicine jointly to William G. Kaelin Jr., Sir Peter J. Ratcliffe and Gregg L. Semenza for their discoveries of how cells sense and adapt to oxygen availability.
SUMMARY
Animals need oxygen for the conversion of food into useful energy. The fundamental importance of oxygen has been understood for centuries, but how cells adapt to changes in levels of oxygen has long been unknown.
William G. Kaelin Jr., Sir Peter J. Ratcliffe and Gregg L. Semenza discovered how cells can sense and adapt to changing oxygen availability. They identified molecular machinery that regulates the activity of genes in response to varying levels of oxygen.
The seminal discoveries by this year’s Nobel Laureates revealed the mechanism for one of life’s most essential adaptive processes. They established the basis for our understanding of how oxygen levels affect cellular metabolism and physiological function. Their discoveries have also paved the way for promising new strategies to fight anemia, cancer and many other diseases.
Oxygen at center stage
Oxygen, with the formula O2, makes up about one fifth of Earth’s atmosphere. Oxygen is essential for animal life: it is used by the mitochondria present in virtually all animal cells in order to convert food into useful energy. Otto Warburg, the recipient of the 1931 Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine, revealed that this conversion is an enzymatic process.
During evolution, mechanisms developed to ensure a sufficient supply of oxygen to tissues and cells. The carotid body, adjacent to large blood vessels on both sides of the neck, contains specialized cells that sense the blood’s oxygen levels. The 1938 Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine to Corneille Heymans awarded discoveries showing how blood oxygen sensing via the carotid body controls our respiratory rate by communicating directly with the brain.
HIF enters the scene
In addition to the carotid body-controlled rapid adaptation to low oxygen levels (hypoxia), there are other fundamental physiological adaptations. A key physiological response to hypoxia is the rise in levels of the hormone erythropoietin (EPO), which leads to increased production of red blood cells (erythropoiesis). The importance of hormonal control of erythropoiesis was already known at the beginning of the 20th century, but how this process was itself controlled by O2 remained a mystery.
Gregg Semenza studied the EPO gene and how it is regulated by varying oxygen levels. By using gene-modified mice, specific DNA segments located next to the EPO gene were shown to mediate the response to hypoxia. Sir Peter Ratcliffe also studied O2-dependent regulation of the EPO gene, and both research groups found that the oxygen sensing mechanism was present in virtually all tissues, not only in the kidney cells where EPO is normally produced. These were important findings showing that the mechanism was general and functional in many different cell types.
Semenza wished to identify the cellular components mediating this response. In cultured liver cells he discovered a protein complex that binds to the identified DNA segment in an oxygen-dependent manner. He called this complex the hypoxia-inducible factor (HIF) . Extensive efforts to purify the HIF complex began, and in 1995, Semenza was able to publish some of his key findings, including identification of the genes encoding HIF. HIF was found to consist of two different DNA-binding proteins, so called transcription factors, now named HIF-1α and ARNT. Now the researchers could begin solving the puzzle, allowing them to understand which additional components were involved and how the machinery works.
Tumblr media
“Figure 1. When oxygen levels are low (hypoxia), HIF-1α is protected from degradation and accumulates in the nucleus, where it associates with ARNT and binds to specific DNA sequences (HRE) in hypoxia-regulated genes (1). At normal oxygen levels, HIF-1α is rapidly degraded by the proteasome (2). Oxygen regulates the degradation process by the addition of hydroxyl groups (OH) to HIF-1α (3). The VHL protein can then recognize and form a complex with HIF-1α leading to its degradation in an oxygen-dependent manner (4).”
VHL: an unexpected partner
When oxygen levels are high, cells contain very little HIF-1α. However, when oxygen levels are low, the amount of HIF-1α increases so that it can bind to and thus regulate the EPO gene as well as other genes with HIF-binding DNA segments (Figure 1). Several research groups showed that HIF-1α, which is normally rapidly degraded, is protected from degradation in hypoxia. At normal oxygen levels, a cellular machine called the proteasome, recognized by the 2004 Nobel Prize in Chemistry to Aaron Ciechanover, Avram Hershko and Irwin Rose, degrades HIF-1α. Under such conditions a small peptide, ubiquitin, is added to the HIF-1α protein. Ubiquitin functions as a tag for proteins destined for degradation in the proteasome. How ubiquitin binds to HIF-1α in an oxygen-dependent manner remained a central question.
The answer came from an unexpected direction. At about the same time as Semenza and Ratcliffe were exploring the regulation of the EPO gene, cancer researcher William Kaelin, Jr. was researching an inherited syndrome, von Hippel-Lindau’s disease (VHL disease). This genetic disease leads to dramatically increased risk of certain cancers in families with inherited VHL mutations. Kaelin showed that the VHL gene encodes a protein that prevents the onset of cancer. Kaelin also showed that cancer cells lacking a functional VHL gene express abnormally high levels of hypoxia-regulated genes; but that when the VHL gene was reintroduced into cancer cells, normal levels were restored. This was an important clue showing that VHL was somehow involved in controlling responses to hypoxia. Additional clues came from several research groups showing that VHL is part of a complex that labels proteins with ubiquitin, marking them for degradation in the proteasome. Ratcliffe and his research group then made a key discovery: demonstrating that VHL can physically interact with HIF-1α and is required for its degradation at normal oxygen levels. This conclusively linked VHL to HIF-1α.
Oxygen shifts the balance
Many pieces had fallen into place, but what was still lacking was an understanding of how O2 levels regulate the interaction between VHL and HIF-1α. The search focused on a specific portion of the HIF-1α protein known to be important for VHL-dependent degradation, and both Kaelin and Ratcliffe suspected that the key to O2-sensing resided somewhere in this protein domain. In 2001, in two simultaneously published articles they showed that under normal oxygen levels, hydroxyl groups are added at two specific positions in HIF-1α (Figure 1). This protein modification, called prolyl hydroxylation, allows VHL to recognize and bind to HIF-1α and thus explained how normal oxygen levels control rapid HIF-1α degradation with the help of oxygen-sensitive enzymes (so-called prolyl hydroxylases). Further research by Ratcliffe and others identified the responsible prolyl hydroxylases. It was also shown that the gene activating function of HIF-1α was regulated by oxygen-dependent hydroxylation. The Nobel Laureates had now elucidated the oxygen sensing mechanism and had shown how it works.
Tumblr media
“Figure 2. The awarded mechanism for oxygen sensing has fundamental importance in physiology, for example for our metabolism, immune response and ability to adapt to exercise. Many pathological processes are also affected. Intensive efforts are ongoing to develop new drugs that can either inhibit or activate the oxygen-regulated machinery for treatment of anemia, cancer and other diseases.”
Oxygen shapes physiology and pathology
Thanks to the groundbreaking work of these Nobel Laureates, we know much more about how different oxygen levels regulate fundamental physiological processes. Oxygen sensing allows cells to adapt their metabolism to low oxygen levels: for example, in our muscles during intense exercise. Other examples of adaptive processes controlled by oxygen sensing include the generation of new blood vessels and the production of red blood cells. Our immune system and many other physiological functions are also fine-tuned by the O2-sensing machinery. Oxygen sensing has even been shown to be essential during fetal development for controlling normal blood vessel formation and placenta development.
Oxygen sensing is central to a large number of diseases (Figure 2). For example, patients with chronic renal failure often suffer from severe anemia due to decreased EPO expression. EPO is produced by cells in the kidney and is essential for controlling the formation of red blood cells, as explained above. Moreover, the oxygen-regulated machinery has an important role in cancer. In tumors, the oxygen-regulated machinery is utilized to stimulate blood vessel formation and reshape metabolism for effective proliferation of cancer cells. Intense ongoing efforts in academic laboratories and pharmaceutical companies are now focused on developing drugs that can interfere with different disease states by either activating, or blocking, the oxygen-sensing machinery. This is the 700-HP 1970 Plymouth ‘Cuda Wrecked in the Kevin Hart Crash
On Sunday, September 1, just before 1 a.m. (PST), multiple reports came out about Kevin Hart being involved in a car accident. The driver, Jared Black, lost control of Hart’s 1970 Plymouth ’Cuda while driving with Hart in the passenger’s seat and Black’s fiancée, Rebecca Broxterman, in the back seat. The car plowed through a wooden fence and careened down an embankment, where it came to rest in a heap. Hart was able to exit the car, but Black and Broxterman were stuck and had to be cut out by emergency crews. Both men sustained injuries and, according to CBS Los Angeles, were taken to nearby hospitals. Hart underwent back surgery and is expected to recover.
This wasn’t just any ’Cuda, though. The car was built by SpeedKore, a company that’s setting precedents for carbon-fiber-bodied muscle cars. In its original form, the ’Cuda was powered by a 6.4-liter Hemi V-8 and made 720 hp with the help of a 2.9-liter Whipple supercharger. The main course was the gratuitous carbon-fiber work that the shop is known for, along with HRE wheels, Baer Brakes, and a fully custom interior upholstery from Gabe’s Custom Upholstery. For his 40th birthday, the comedian/actor purchased the car for himself with a few changes; the 6.4 engine and the transmission were swapped out in favor of a blown 6.2-liter out of a Dodge Challenger Demon. SpeedKore had no official comment on the accident. To see what the highly customized Barracuda looked like before its unfortunate crash, and get a full breakdown on all that went into building it, check out the Hot Rod feature article below.
In its short history, SpeedKore Performance Group has made a name for itself by building high-end, high-power muscle, with an emphasis on classic Mopars. Their latest build, this 1970 ‘Cuda, belongs to SpeedKore co-owner Jim Kacmarcik, so of course it follows the trend of bringing top-notch build quality and design with handling and drivability. It debuted at the 2016 SEMA show and its aggressive presence makes it deserving of its nickname, Menace.
SpeedKore took three main goals into consideration when designing Menace. First, the project had to return a practical driver. It had to be timeless. After all, when you’re starting with one of Mopar’s most iconic models, there’s no point in scrapping the whole thing. Finally, the car had to be innovative, incorporating unique design elements under the hood, in the cabin, and wherever appropriate. Sean Smith, SpeedKore’s design director, took those goals to task, “Our approach is to highlight and preserve the styling of the vehicle that the fan base loves.” That meant no over the top spoilers, wings, or unnecessary scoops, just simple and clean style with a mean presence.
To update the ‘Cuda’s lines, the window and drip rail moldings were eliminated and the hood was simplified. Molded in carbon fiber, the hood’s twin, raised scoops were extended toward the windshield and the cowl vents were deleted. Both the top and bottom of the hood were molded in carbon fiber before being bonded together. The quarter panel pockets house the door opening switches, as in a late-model Corvette. The rectangular notches hint at the somewhat industrial factory latches without interrupting the flow of the carbon fiber door skin. The quarter panels also house the exhaust bezels that were manufactured in-house. At the rear, panel gaps were minimized as a new carbon fiber valence was molded in and a carbon fiber bumper sits tucked into the quarters. You’ll notice that’s quite a bit of sheetmetal that was replaced by carbon fiber. SpeedKore offers lots of E-body parts in the lightweight composite, so designer Sean Smith decided to do a modern take on the AAR graphic and leave the carbon exposed on top of the fenders, hood, and doors.
The interior of the ‘Cuda was treated to the most radical redesign, as all of the carpet, vinyl, and plastic were stripped out leaving only a bare shell for the SpeedKore team to build from. The bones of the car’s interior were 3D scanned and a whole new look was conceived. Bill Jakum began with a new dash that was filled with a billet aluminum gauge cluster. The rear seats were eliminated, in their place is a shelf with twin storage boxes. Front seats began as high-backed Recaro buckets that were trimmed down before they were sent to Gabes Custom Street Rod Interiors in San Bernardino, California. There, Gabe upholstered the seats, dash, console, and door panels in black leather.
The centerpiece of the interior is the dashboard that is hand made and fabricated by Bill Jakum, SpeedKore’s lead metal fabricator. Once the dash was fabricated it was 3D scanned to produce a billet gauge insert to house custom-made Classic Instruments gauges.
The epitome of Mopar pony cars was the Hemi ‘Cuda. Considering the car’s looks, handling, and braking had all received modern upgrades, it only seemed right to use a Gen III Hemi. Wegner Motorsports in Markesan, Wisconsin, took on the job of blueprinting and dyno testing the 6.4L Hemi powerplant. It uses a factory block, crank, and heads with equal-length headers and stainless steel exhaust fabricated by SpeedKore’s Bill Jakum and Ben Murphy. The V8 is topped by a Whipple 2.9L supercharger and carbon fiber valve covers. The combo churns out 720 hp at a street-friendly 5,800rpm, with torque on tap from idle. A custom firewall, core support, and inner fenders, designed by Sean Smith, frame the engine. Lyle Brummer developed the tooling for the molds and they were all formed in carbon fiber.
To return the modern handling befitting a build like this, Speedkore chose a Roadster Shop Fast Track subframe as their new jumping off point. The SpeedKore team modified it starting just behind the control arms, making the rails taller and incorporating them into the firewall and cowl support to minimize flex. The tall Hemi and large, deep-sump oil pan from Stef’s Fabrication Specialties required modifying the Roadster Shop crossmember. A Detroit Speed rack and pinion was the perfect, although not drop-in, solution. SpeedKore fired up their computer drafting software to model the front suspension and design new tie rod spindle drops that eliminate bumpsteer with the new rack. With little room to work, a splined sway bar from Speedway was located ahead of the oil pan. A set of HRE S101 wheels were fitted to Menace, with 19x10s in the front wearing 245/35XR19 Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires and 20×12-inch hoops in the back with massive, 345/30ZR20 Michelins.
HRE S101 wheels feature satin bronze spokes and a brushed lip. The spindles and hubs are C6 Corvette. Baer six-piston Extreme brakes were used with slotted and cross-drilled rotors.
Completing SpeedKore’s vision, Bill Nicoud, SpeedKore’s head painter, spent countless hours prepping the body before spraying it in a custom mix they’ve dubbed Lakeshore Blue. It’s not too far off from the factory 1970 P-6 paint code, Frosted Teal Poly and is a perfect fit for the ‘Cuda. Along with the exposed carbon fiber, the painted panels were drenched in clear to give them amazing depth that only comes from hours of wet sanding and buffing.
The result of SpeedKore’s labor is a perfect melding of muscle-era lines with details that keep rewarding the viewer. The body is very much a ‘Cuda, only refined, while the engine bay and interior reflect SpeedKore’s more modern, muscular aesthetic. This is the most pure example of their design philosophy yet.

This 890-Wheel-Horsepower 2007 Corvette Z06 is the Ultimate Therapy
Everyone’s path to Corvette fever is different. Some get there through a love of preserving history and some through undeniable performance-per-dollar value Corvettes have always offered. Others still derive the fever from experiences from their youth that stick with them. That was precisely what hooked Bill Cobb of Medina, Ohio.
“When I was 10 years old,” Cobb recalled, “my father came home with a red 1976 Corvette and two short years later he traded that ’76 for a 1978 Silver Anniversary with every option. I was immediately hooked.” But just as Cobb was coming of age to take the wheel himself, everything fell apart. He told us that his dad “ended up selling the car 21 days short of my 16th birthday because, as he put it, he wasn’t going to do hand-to-hand combat with me for the keys every Friday night.” For 15-year-old Cobb, this new reality was crushing. “I have honestly never recovered,” he told us. But it all worked out for the better because Cobb’s love for Corvettes only got stronger over those years—the classic “you want what you can’t have” scenario.
Even though his dad let go of the ’78, Cobb still found a way to get his fix of Corvettes by spending his summers working for a guy named John Drahos who, not coincidently, is the owner of Corvette Conspiracy in Cleveland, and has been for 40 years now. “I will always treasure that awesome experience and the memories I have,” said Cobb. “They are a part of what fueled my passion.” Unfortunately, life happened and responsibility took hold of him. It wasn’t until much later when he picked up a black ’02 Corvette convertible that Cobb got his first taste of Corvette ownership. It was good, but didn’t quite hit the spot. Then in 2006, he made a trip down to his local dealership and put in an order for a brand-new 2007 Z06. “I took delivery in the fall of 2006,” Cobb told us, “and have never been happier with an automobile!”
He drove and enjoyed the Corvette in its stock form for a few years, but then started to notice some of the builds that his old friend Drahos was turning out at Corvette Conspiracy. More specifically, the huge power they were adding to late-model Vettes via ProCharger superchargers. All of a sudden, his dream-come-true C6 Corvette wasn’t all that exciting any longer—it needed more.
The guys at Corvette Conspiracy began by pulling the entire drivetrain and sending the engine out to ERL Performance where the LS7 received their Superdeck treatment, sleeving the cylinders so they could withstand way more power than stock. Then back at Corvette Conspiracy, the rotating assembly was upgraded to match. They went with a Callies crankshaft and Callies Ultra H-Beam rods with Wiseco pistons. As for the top end, a Lingenfelter GT9 camshaft was tossed in and then the stock heads were ported for more flow. The LS7’s air and fuel capabilities were further enhanced with a FAST intake manifold and 102mm throttle body. Then the fuel injectors were upgraded to Aeromotive 85lb units. Finally, the engine needed more oiling capabilities so a Katech billet oil pump was installed.
With all of the supporting mods done, Corvette Conspiracy got to the fun stuff and installed ProCharger’s D-1SC centrifugal supercharger along with an air-to-air intercooler. The result? Double the factory horsepower. Once they got everything back together and bolted on the Pfadt Tri-Y header exhaust system with X-pipe and Billy Boat Fusion mufflers, they ran it on a chassis dyno. The Corvette put down an astounding 890 horsepower to the rear wheels. Add in a bit of correction for drivetrain loss and that’s just over 1,000 hp at the crank compared to the factory-advertised 505 hp.
As for the rest of the drivetrain, the stock transaxle was retained but got a new twin-disc clutch and B&M shifter. Driveshaft Shop supplied them with a new torque tube to tie everything together.
From the outside, Cobb’s C6 doesn’t let on that it’s hiding a 1,000-horsepower mill under the hood. The only visual differences over stock are the 19×10 front and 20×13 rear HRE wheels shod in Nitto Invo rubber, the fronts getting 285/30R19 and the rears 345/25R20. Inside, the whole interior was gutted and covered in Dynamat then put right back in place. A fuel pressure gauge is hidden in the ashtray and some higher-quality Kenwood and Boston Acoustics speakers replaced the stock units, but other than that, it’s all just as Chevrolet designed it.
The whole build process likely took a lot more money and time than Cobb might have preferred, but the lucky man his is, he had his wife Amy’s patience and support through it all. Without her support, we wouldn’t get to enjoy his one-of-a-kind Z06. So for that, Amy, we thank you. And once the Vette was done, Cobb showed it at the annual Cleveland, Ohio, Piston Power Show in 2013 and took home Best in Class. Then he came back the next year and did it again.
When we asked how he typically uses the Corvette he replied saying, “As needed—mostly for therapy.” Can you think of a better way to blow off some steam after a long work week than taking your 890-wheel-horsepower Corvette Z06 for a drive? We can’t. Vette

Java Green BMW M2 With HRE FF01 Wheels
This little beast looks simply spectacular with its Java Green finish. Whatever you may say, the BMW M2 is the perfect vehicle for high-profile wraps and Individual Finishes. It’s the hyperactive kid of the model range, all thanks to its powerful engine and seldom seen driving dynamics, all wrapped in a rather interesting visual package.
Even since it launched date, the BMW M2 has attracted a huge following and it is now one of the most popular M cars ever made. Its older, more powerful siblings fair a bit better in some areas, but the smaller, nimbler M2 can certainly keep up with its brethren. The vehicle comes powered by a by a 3.0 Liter BMW TwinPower Turbo engine delivering 370 horsepower and 369lb-ft of torque. It allows the nimble high-performance coupe to sprint from 0-62mph (0-100km/h) in just 4.1 seconds. The top speed is electronically limited to 155mph (250km/h).
With this owner, the M2 needed a bit more flash on the exterior. The additions consist of the aforementioned Java Green Individual Finish and a set of HRE FF01 wheels. As a long-standing market leader, HRE Wheels recognized the need for entry-level, high-quality and lightweight performance wheels and have thus revealed their FlowForm wheel line. Consisting of wheels that bring the same iconic styling and a level of quality embodied by the brand, all at an accessible price point, these make for a perfect addition to various mid-range projects.
These cast flow-formed wheels are designed in their San Diego office but are made in Japan. This ensures that both the highest level of design and engineering available in the world today is used to make these wheels. In turn, these are some of the lightest wheels available on the market today.
For this BMW M2 build, the customer went with HRE FF01 FlowForm wheels sized 19×9.5 in the front and 19×10.5 in the rear. With a Frozen Stone Dark Clear finish, these wheels look great on this Java Green M2, that’s for sure. Check out the complete media gallery of this build right below.
