It’s officially past midnight here in the UK, which means it’s Eddie’s birthday!!!! Happy 41st birthday Eddie. May your birthday be as magical and wonderful as you are!! I hope this year is full of happiness as much as you make us fans happy! You are an amazing person and brilliant actor. Keep smiling, and doing what you do best. I hope we see you in more films and projects this year. Thank you for all you do, for making films to entertain us, doing interviews weather it being on videos for YouTube, interviews for online articles, and interviews for podcasts. For attending Q & A sessions with fans, premiers, and other events, and hope to see you do more in the coming years. Thank you for doing so much for us fans, and being so kind and generous to us in everything you do.

I wanted to do a fan art for his 41st birthday, but I don’t know if I’ll finish it on time for his birthday. Eek! I wanted to say all that on his birthday fundraiser. I know he’ll probably not see this, although I wish he could, but I still want to express my gratitude for all his hard work for us fans, and wish him a heartfelt birthday. Love him so much. He’s one of the best actors out there and he is my number 1 favourite actor. Anyway we’ll see if I can finish it later today, as it’s late now snd past midnight.

HAPPY 41st  BIRTHDAY EDDIE !!!!

Several years have passed since our first meeting and since in 2010 I discovered you as an actor in the miniseries "The Pillars of the Earth". For me you are and have been very important, you have fulfilled all my wishes, seeing you acting live again after 10 years, winning 1 oscar, being nominated a second time the following year for The danish girl, having met you in my city Turin where in front of the whole audience you spoke about the guide book I gave you the year before at Eton. and so on.... This year we met in London after three years, and it was an emotional, indescribable meeting for me... but I wasn't the only one!! You too were very excited and this is what makes you an extraordinary, unique man who, despite his immense success, remained humble!!

It's been a very difficult year for me, but you've made it better even though I know it sounds incredible, but it's true!! You have an extraordinary power, you give us great emotions with your acting, which in life for each of us fans, helps a lot!! So big man happy birthday to you on your 41st birthday, and you know what I do now? I'm going to donate to the MND, of which you are a patron!!

Thank you for all the emotions you have given us this year and for those you’ll give us in the future! Never forget, you have an amazing talent !!

The response to this year’s #Happy41stEddie fundraiser for the MND Association in Eddie’s honor has been overwhelming!

We’ve raised more than £20,000 from 29 supporters so far, received heartfelt messages for Eddie— & heard from Eddie himself!

Just because his birthday has passed doesn’t mean the drive is over. We’ve learned it’s best to continue active promotion for another week or so, and then we keep the account open because it does generate contributions throughout the year when someone stumbles on an old post/link and is moved to donate.

Where it began

On the eve of Eddie Redmayne’s birthday, with our annual fan fundraiser in full swing, we recall Eddie’s portrayal of Stephen Hawking in The Theory of Everything this Throwback Thursday. Eddie’s research into the effects of Motor Neurone Disease on the body and mind + on the lives of its victims and their loved ones led to his bond with and patronage of the MND Association.
