Paris Olympics: Most Resilient Performance By Any Indian Hockey Team, Says Somaya

World Champion Germany: Former India captain and selector MM Somaya on Sunday termed the Indian Men's hockey team's victory over Great Britain in the quarterfinals in the Paris Olympics as "one of the most resilient" and "tactically well played" performance in recent times. Despite being a man down for three of the four quarters of the match, the Indian team defended stoutly and absorbed tremendous pressure to end the match 1-1 and then emerged 4-2 winners in the shootout to seal a place in the semifinals. This is the first time that India have reached the semifinals in two successive Olympics since the 1972 Olympics in Munich. Somaya, who was a member of the team that won India's eighth gold medal in men's hockey in the 1980 Olympics in Moscow, hailed the players for their performance in the Paris Olympics and said they have raised hopes of going through all the way. India had ended a four-decade-long medal drought by winning the bronze medal in the Tokyo Olympics. "It was one of the most resilient and the most, I think, tactically very well-played (game) given the circumstances that the team found itself in. So, I think a very resilient and very strong tactical game to pull it off in the quarterfinal at the Olympics. So the game was not a, you know, pool game or a, you know, some smaller tournament quarterfinal. To do something like this at the Olympics is amazing. It is definitely one of the most resilient performances by an Indian team," said Somaya, who was the captain of the Indian hockey team at the 1988 Olympics in Seoul. For years, lack of resilience and tactical acumen was considered as the reasons for the Indian men's team's failure to progress through key knockout matches in mega events -- conceding last-minute goals like at the 1984 Los Angeles and 2000 Sydney Olympic games that thwarted them from progressing to the last-four stage. On Sunday, resilient play and a strong tactical game saved the day as Harmanpreet Singh's team battled hard despite being reduced to 10 players at the start of the second quarter after Amit Rohidas was shown a red card. A keen observer of Indian hockey since his playing days, Somaya, who is a member of the senior men's selection committee of Hockey India, has seen the team grow in the last decade and said by reaching the semifinals in two successive Olympics, the team has lifted the stature of India in hockey. "There has been an amazing change. They have really lifted the stature of India in hockey. They have put us (in the top four). They have retained that stature we used to have earlier. May not be finishing as first, second, or third very often, but the quality of hockey they have played over the last ten years has been very, very encouraging and they have again put Indian hockey on the World map. So very happy with the style of playing," said Somaya. The 65-year-old Somaya, who was born in Madikeri, Karnataka but now settled in Mumbai for the last many decades, agreed that the team's performance was not perfect as they made many errors in midfield easily giving away the ball on many occasions, but said that could be because the players could not go up on attack too much as they were a man down. Somaya felt that the mistakes could be because the players were very tired while covering the length and breadth of the field as they had one person less. Asked what areas should the team focus on for the semifinal where they will meet the winner of the match between World Champion Germany and Argentina, Somaya the players' main concern would be to recover from Sudnay's exertions and get fully fit for the semifinal. Another area of concern will be the absence of Amit Rohidas for the next match because of the red card as that will reduce the squad to 15 players whereas the opponents will have their full quota of 16. "Recovering physically, mentally, emotionally is going to be difficult as the day after is the next match. So, you have to first recover physically, mentally, emotionally. These sorts of games drain you completely. So it has drained them. So, the first thing is they have to recover. And they, again, may at a handicap. If Amit Rohidas doesn't get a reprieve from the disciplinary committee, then he may have to (miss the semifinal). We may have to play one player short from the 16. And in today's rules of rolling substitution, where they make 40, 50 changes, you know, then your options are limited as compared to the opposition. Indian Hockey Team Secures a Win against Australia 4-3 in the FIH Pro League Match

For the second time, the Hockey team India beat Australia in three days. In the penalty shootout, India on Wednesday for the second leg match was at 2-2 in regulation time. But managed a win at the FIH Pro League in Rourkela. PR Sreejesh, the goalkeeper converted a chance in the shootout for India that won 4-3. The win pushed up the Indian Hockey team a notch up at the Birsa Munda Stadium. It is the fourth win for team India. On Monday, the win helped India get the top position in the standing.

On Sunday, in the first leg match, India beat Australia (the world number 4) with a 5-4 score, while it won the double-legged matches against Germany, the world champions by 3-2 and 6-3. As for the match in question, Sukhjeet Singh scored for India in the 47th minute of regulation time and Vivek Sagar Prasad scored in the 2nd minute. For Australia, Nathan Ephraums twice 37th and in the 52nd minute. In the shootout, Sukhjeet and Dipreet Singh, as well as Harmanpreet Singh scored for India and won the match.

Just in the second minute, team India earned a penalty corner and Captain Harmanpreet attempted a drag-flick. However, it was protected by Johan Durst, the Australian Keeper. However, as fate would have it, Vivek Sagar Prasad, playing his 100th match for the team, picked up the rebound and scored a successful goal from the top of the circle. India kept the momentum going by pushing team Australia to the back foot.

While India had two more opportunities, they could not convert them in the first quarter. Australia had its first goal in the 37th minute with an earlier otherwise no goals in the second quarter. It was Nathan Ephraums, which scored on a penalty stroke. Then ten minutes later, Sukhjeet from India scored a field goal for the team in the 47th minute. In the 52nd minute, an unintended foul resulted in a penalty corner to Australia, and the team executed it well.

The foul occurred by the Indian defender. The stopper, Anand Gupte used the trick of faking a drag-flick and then passed the ball to Tim Howard. It was Tim who then put the ball at the post. Both the teams were now at a 2-2 level at the finale of the regulation time.  And then they proceeded to the tense shootout moment. Not only did the talented goalkeeper of India, Sreejesh make some awesome saves.

But he was the man who saved the grace of team Hockey India by saving a crucial referral. He also was the one to win an extra point for the team. In May, team India will continue the FIH Pro League matches as they will travel to Europe and compete with Great Britain, Argentina, Netherlands, and Belgium.

12🏹बाबा जयमल सिंह को स्वामी शिव दयाल जी से नाम उपदेश देने का कोई अधिकार नहीं था।

1878 में शिव दयाल जी की मृत्यु हो गई। उस समय जयमल सिंह सेना में नौकरी कर रहे थे। शिव दयाल जी के देहावसान के 11 वर्ष बाद सन् 1889 में सेना से सेवानिवृत्त होकर पेंशन प्राप्त करने के बाद जयमल सिंह ब्यास आ गये और नाम उपदेश देने लगे। इससे सिद्ध होता है कि स्वामी शिव दयाल जी ने उन्हें नाम देने का अधिकार नहीं दिया था। अगर उन्हें शिव दयाल जी ने आदेश दिया होता तो वे सीधे 1878 में नाम देना शुरू कर देते।

13🏹सावन सिंह जी महाराज सतनाम के बारे में कुछ नहीं जानते थे।

सावन सिंह जी के अनुसार राधा स्वामी की पुस्तक "संतमत प्रकाश" भाग-4, पृष्ठ नं. 261-

FIH Hockey Pro League: India Loses 4-2 To Netherlands In Shootout

FIH Hockey Pro League: India rallied from an early setback 1-1 before losing out in the penalty bonus shootout (4-2) to World No.1 Netherlands in the second round of FIH Hockey Pro League, here in Rourkela. Despite conceding an early goal to Floris Middendorp in the first quarter, India refused to back down. Vice-captain Hardik Singh rose to the occasion, unleashing a determined effort to level the score in the third quarter, much to the delight of the home crowd. With Krishan Pathak guarding the goal for India, anticipation soared. Though Pathak showcased his skills with a crucial save, India faltered in their attempts, missing twice and ultimately conceding the tiebreak to the Netherlands. The world's top Dutch team was drawn 2-2 by Harmanpreet Singh's side earlier in Bhubaneswar, where they went on to win a bonus point in shootouts. Asian Games: Indian Men’s Hockey Team Leaves For Hangzhou

Asian Champions Trophy Chennai:  Indian men's hockey team on Tuesday left from Bengaluru airport for Hangzhou to take part in the 19th Asian Games. India will kick off their campaign in the marquee event on September 24 against Uzbekistan.India are placed in Pool A, alongside Pakistan, Japan, Bangladesh, Singapore, and Uzbekistan. Pool B consists of Korea, Malaysia, China, Oman, Thailand, and Indonesia. The top two teams from each Pool will qualify for the semifinal. Harmanpreet Singh, the charismatic defender, has been tasked with leading the squad once more, with Hardik serving as his deputy."The team has been rigorously preparing for the 19th Asian Games Hangzhou 2022, and we performed well at the recently concluded Asian Champions Trophy Chennai 2023, so the goal is to maintain that level of performance. We have some tough opponents in our Pool, but we are confident in our preparation and hope to finish on the podium," said Captain Harmanpreet before leaving for Hangzhou. The team includes goalkeepers PR Sreejesh and Krishan Pathak. Varun Kumar, Amit Rohidas, Jarmanpreet Singh, Harmanpreet Singh, and Sanjay are the defenders selected for the Asian Games. 16🏹राधास्वामी पंथ के प्रवर्तक श्री शिवदयाल जी मृत्यु उपरांत प्रेत क्यों बने?

पूर्व जन्म की भक्ति से सम्पन्न हुये भक्त वर्तमान में अच्छे साधक लगते हैं, परन्तु साधना शास्त्रविरुद्ध होने के कारण भविष्य की भक्ति कमाई से वंचित रह जाते हैं। फिर वे पितर या प्रेत बन जाते हैं।

17🏹श्री शिवदयाल जी (राधास्वामी पंथ के प्रवर्तक) ने इतना हठयोग/तप किया फिर भी उनका मोक्ष क्यों नहीं हुआ, वे मृत्यु उपरांत प्रेत क्यों बने?

पवित्र गीता जी अध्याय 16 श्लोक 23 में कहा है कि जो मनुष्य शास्त्र विधि को त्याग कर अपनी इच्छा से मनमाना आचरण अर्थात मनमानी भक्ति करते हैं उनको न तो कोई सुख होता है, न कार्य सिद्धि होती है, न ही परम गति(मोक्ष) को प्राप्त होता है अर्थात व्यर्थ है।

18🏹राधास्वामी पंथ के प्रवर्तक श्री शिवदयाल जी है जिनका जन्म आगरा शहर की मुहल्ला पन्नी गली में 25 अगस्त 1818 को हुआ। श्री शिवदयाल जी का कोई गुरु नहीं था, स्वयं ही हठयोग क्रिया करके, बन्द कमरे में सूरत शब्द का अभ्यास किया करते थे। तथा मृत्यु उपरांत मोक्ष प्राप्त न करके भूत योनि में गये और अपनी शिष्या बुक्की में प्रवेश करके हुक्का पिया करते।

19🏹राधास्वामी पंथ के धर्मगुरु कबीर साहेब को मात्र सद्गुरु मानते हैं जबकि पूर्ण संत रामपाल जी महाराज जी ने सर्व शास्त्रों तथा सभी संतों की वाणियों से प्रमाण सहित बताया है कि कबीर परमेश्वर ही सर्व सृष्टि रचनहार है और सर्व आत्माओं का जनक/पिता है, अविनाशी तथा पूर्ण परमात्मा है।

इस पंथ के मुखिया शिवदयाल जी ने कोई गुरु नहीं बनाया, मृत्यु के बाद भूत बना।

1🏹सतपुरुष, सतलोक, सारनाम एवं सतनाम को एक ही बताने वाले राधास्वामी पंथ द्वारा पांच नाम (ओंकार, ज्योति निरंजन, ररंकार, सोहं, सत्यनाम) बताये जाते हैं। जबकि ये नाम काल के हैं। जिसका प्रमाण पुस्तक ‘‘घट रामायण‘‘ पहला भाग के पृष्ठ 27 में है जिसमें लिखा है:

"पांचों नाम काल के जानों।"

2🏹राधास्वामी पंथ का मानना है कि सच्चखंड यानी सतलोक में प्रकाश ही प्रकाश है जहाँ जाने पर आत्मा ऐसे मिल जाती है जैसे बून्द समुद्र में मिल जाती है। यानि सतलोक में परमेश्वर का कोई अस्तित्व नहीं है। जबकि सत्य इसके विपरीत है।

3🏹राधास्वामी पंथ के अनुसार परमात्मा निराकार है। जबकि हमारे धर्म ग्रंथ और परमात्मा प्राप्त संत अपनी वाणियों में परमात्मा को साकार, मनुष्य सदृश्य बताते हैं।

कबीर, गुरू बिन माला फेरते, गुरू बिन देते दान।

गुरू बिन दोनों निष्फल हैं, पूछो वेद पुराण।।

5🏹राधास्वामी पंथ के प्रवर्तक श्री शिवदयाल जी मृत्यु उपरांत अपनी शिष्या बुक्की में प्रवेश करके आदेश देते तथा हुक्का पीते थे। ऐसी स्थिति पितरों तथा प्रेतों की होती है, किसी भी मोक्ष प्राप्त संत के इतिहास में नहीं मिलती। जिस पंथ के मुखिया ही विकार नहीं त्याग सके तो अन्य अनुयायी कैसे विकार रहित हो सकते हैं।
