Just in from MSN we have the reveal of the next Haslab project – it’s Liokaiser! Unlike the previous Combiner Wars version, this looks to be a fully-accurate figure containing all Breastforce members and their Breast Animals: • Leozack • Guyhawk • Hellbat • Jallguar • Killbison • Drillhorn • And as a bonus, the ill-fated Deathcobra!

I wasn't expecting to ever own this guy. Shout out to my boss, John, for making toy dreams come true. Merry early Christmas to me. I truly do not know where to go from here with toys. Will a toy ever feel like an event again in relation to this? I'm spiraling. That's how cool this toy is. He's massive, cumbersome, fiddly, but who gives a shit. It's fucking Orson Welles.

A little while ago I got the Haslab reissue of the GI Joe “Skystriker” off eBay

It’s based on the original “A Real American Hero” Skystriker released in 1983 but with a few strategic tweaks/upgrades

I’d wanted the 1983 one for ages but was apprehensive to try to find one because it meant outrageous nostalgia collector prices and/or taking my chances with something that had been abused for over forty years so the re-release was a welcome compromise. I missed the initial preorder but mercifully after a couple years or so the secondhand prices came down quite a lot, even for NIB ones like this. I thought about leaving it unopened but my inner twelve year old won out. It did come with some carded figures I left packaged and some decals I did not apply.

I used the 1992 and 1993 ARAH Ace figures for the pilot/navigator positions

As you can see it has variable sweep wings, retractable landing gears, a complement of missiles, and removable ejector seats with parachutes

It’s pretty sweet

Also I blame @gijoe-forever’s influence for inspiring this purchase

Once again, we push the boundary of what can be considered a "desk toy" and I test the limits of my boss' and coworkers' patience. 😅😅😅

But man, oh man, this is something special. Just like the HISS before it, the HasLab Dragonfly has to be seen in person to be truly appreciated.

Haslab Liokaiser Deathcobra Unlocked

The ongoing Haslab Liokaiser project has now unlocked its first tier – Deathcobra!

Currently at over 13000 backers and with 28 days remaining, it will need 16000 to unlock the Electromagnetic Nunchaku and 18000 to unlock the display bases.

Still hoping for a secret Micromaster Clipper to complete the references to Deathcobra's feature episode.

Man do people go out of their way to simp for Hasbro’s greed the moment you tell them HasLab is a scam to get consumers to pay production costs of things that the company used to make purely itself just a decade or so ago and put out on shelves for like a fifth the price of what a HasLab product backing price is. Like for fuck’s sake. This recent Liokaiser thing? For like $500? They legit just put equal sized Devastator and Predaking combiner sets up on store shelves for like $120 or so back in the 2010s. Heck even The Vintage Collection Millennium Falcon was cheaper than the Razor’s Crest and Ghost HasLab projects. And they’re comparable size ships. No online funding campaign required. They’re fucking fleecing you so they don’t have to spend profits making the very thing they’re selling. It’s a scam.
