rambling/venting? not that deep but dunking under the readmore so you're not blasted with a wall of text

I am bummed the hell out that this piece that I put a lot of time and love into and am deeply proud of has gotten, like, zero attention across all of the platforms I shared it on today. it's probably a result of the timing - posting something at 2pm instead of 5-6pm - and the fact that it's not as immediately visually flashy as the high-contrast doodle dragons. but... man. i'm just bummed.

ultimately it's not about the numbers, and I know that; but there is a definite component to all of this where: the conversation and response to sharing a thing I've made and getting to talk about making it is important to me! and I don't want to feel bad for valuing that!

I think I just... maybe I just need community again. as always. guy who has a disability that makes it difficult for him to socialize struggles with making and maintaining social connections, more at 11. I was writing out some thoughts/notes for the patreon page refresh I'm doing for July and the thing I keep coming back to is that I want and need to balance the fact that this is my job, my career, and it pays the bills; and it's also about making things. it's about making things for people. the connection is just as vital as the process of making the thing. I want to make art for people and I also want to eat and go outside and go on adventures and travel a little and thrive.

i'm opening for some new projects for the first time in a while later this week and god I hope that somebody jumps on it lol. I'm not letting myself have any expectations.
