What is Good Friday / Holy Friday? | GotQuestions.org

How is Good Friday... good? How can the day marking Jesus' crucifixion, a moment of profound suffering, be called Good Friday? It's a question that might make you pause. For Christians, this solemn day, also known as Holy Friday, points to something much deeper than the darkness of the event itself – it's about the ultimate sacrifice for sin and an extraordinary display of God's love offering salvation and peace with God. But what does the Bible actually say about observing this day before Easter Sunday, and what does remembering Christ's death truly signify? Let's explore why this pivotal, seemingly tragic day holds such powerful meaning and hope. In this video, Pastor Nelson answers your question: What is Good Friday or Holy Friday?

Blog #10 – A Time to Pause: Family, Rest, and Reflection
This week was a meaningful pause from our academic work as we embraced the spirit of Holy Week. I took the time to visit my sister and spend some quality moments with family—something that often gets pushed aside during busy school weeks.
One of the most heartfelt parts of this week was visiting my father’s grave. It reminded me of the importance of slowing down, reflecting on life, and appreciating the people who shaped who we are today. These quiet moments of connection and remembrance offered a different kind of strength—one that fuels both the heart and mind.
Though we stepped away from our research and manuscript work for a bit, the rest and family bonding gave me the clarity and energy I needed to return with purpose.
Sometimes, growth happens not just in progress, but in pausing.

Mountains are not only visually majestic. They also give meaning to our existence and re-energize our spirits. A climb to the peak is a search for the divine in all of us. #holyweekreflection #deuter #Deuterph #lightenup
