You brought your hand up, tapping your knuckles against the door of your soon-to-be home. The hinged barrier swung open, revealing Seonghwa, the owner of the apartment.
"Hi. It's Y/n. We went out for coffee last week to talk about me possibly being your new roommate." You told him.
"Yes, I know. I called you yesterday saying you could move your stuff in."
"Right." You chuckled, nervously. "I don't know why I said that."
"It's fine. Do you need help?"
"Yes, please. It's not much, but it'll take me a while to move it all by myself."
Seonghwa stepped aside, allowing you to roll your suitcase inside.
"Wow. This place is nice. Very spacious." You commented.
"Thanks. Let me show you to your room."
You followed him down the hallway to the empty bedroom that would soon be full of your stuff. When you saw an ad for the opening online, you were quick to contact Seonghwa because you heard the room was mostly furnished. There was a queen sized bed that just needed sheets and a comforter, a few shelves and a desk. Just the basics, but it was enough for you.
You thanked Seonghwa and placed your suitcase by a wall before leading him to your vehicle where he helped you take out boxes, carrying them up to the apartment.
As much as you wanted to talk with him and get to know your new roommate better, you couldn't. Carrying the boxes from your car and to the apartment left you breathless.
Seonghwa walked behind you, his eyes catching sight of writing on the box he was carrying. Glancing around the side, he saw the words CHRISTMAS STUFF scrawled on the box in bold sharpie. His top lip curled in disgust. Just thinking of the holiday made him want to hurl. Too much cheer, too much happiness, too much music, and too much for him. You seemed like a nice person, so he tried to give you the benefit of the doubt and attempt to look on the bright side.
She's just got this one box. She's probably not one of those overly cheerful people who are obsessed with Christmas. He thought.
You let out a huff as you set down the last box.
"Finally. Thank you for helping out."
"No problem. I'll leave you to it. If you need any assistance, just let me know."
"I will. Thanks."
Seonghwa gave you a small nod before closing the door and leaving you to yourself.
"Okay." You rubbed your hands together. "What first?"
It didn't take long for you to get settled in. Before you even knew it, you had all your boxes empty and everything was put together. You had your sheets and comforter on the bed and put all your little knickknacks and other items onto the shelves. You smiled to yourself as you took a gander around your new room. Thought you had just moved in, the place was honestly already starting to feel like home.
You had been staying with Seonghwa for almost a full month now. It was nearing the end of November and you couldn't help but notice the lack of Christmas decorations in the apartment. Normally, people would have their trees and decorations up by now, but the whole pace was bland and didn't give off any holiday cheer at all.
"I noticed you don't have any Christmas decorations." You mentioned as you waited for yours and Seonghwa's ramen to cook.
"I'm not really a Christmas person." He answered.
"Oh." You frowned. "Well, to each their own."
As you stirred the noodles in the pot of boiling water, an idea popped into your head.
You decided right then that you were going to take it upon yourself and decorate the apartment, making it look festive for the holidays.
The next day, you left to go Christmas shopping. You had brought a few Christmas decorations with you from home, but it wasn't enough—you needed more.
A few hours later, you returned to the apartment with an armful of bags. Thankfully, Seonghwa didn't seem to be around as you lugged the newly purchased items to your room.
Once you had everything unpacked, you started to decorate, stringing garland along the shelves in the living room, placing little nutcrackers along the windowsill, all while listening to Christmas music.
You hummed along as you strung tiny fairy lights across the coffee table, maneuvering them around the tiny reindeer and snowmen figures.
You heard a door open, followed by the shuffling of feet. Turning around, you saw Seonghwa standing at the end of the hallway that connected to the living room. You thought he wasn't home, but it appeared he had been in his bedroom the whole time.
"What are you doing?" He asked.
"Decorating." You answered with a smile. "I didn't think you'd mind."
"I don't love it." He answered. "But you live here too, so I guess it's fine."
"Ah. Good." You turned your attention back to the task at hand, bobbing your head to the festive music.
You heard Seonghwa's soft footsteps for only a moment before the sound ceased.
"Could you turn off that noise?" Seonghwa asked, seeming a bit irritated.
"Oh. Sure. Sorry."
"It's fine." He muttered, walking out of the room.
You did what Seonghwa asked and turned the music off, opting for headphones so you could listen in peace and enjoy the music without disturbing him. His reaction kind of stunned you. He said he wasn't a Christmas person, but his reaction almost made it seem like he hated the holiday. You didn't think about it too much, as you still had a box of Christmas stuff from your house to put up.
By the time you were done decorating, the place had a cozy and festive feel to it, one that made you feel warm inside. Seonghwa may not care much for Christmas, but there's no way he can't like the bright and festive decorations you put out. A proud smile spread across your face as you admired your handiwork.
Seonghwa returned to the room, walking over to the wall where you had hung two stockings. His face scrunched in distaste as he lifted one of them up.
"What is this?"
"That's your stocking." You told him. "It has your name on it."
"Well, I don't want it."
"What? I painted our names on the stockings myself."
"I didn't ask you to get me a stocking."
"You didn't have to."
He grumbled in response.
"You know, it's proven that Christmas decorations lift your mood." You told him.
"Not mine."
"We'll see about that."
A few days later you and Seonghwa were sitting in the living room watching TV. Your eyes drifted from the screen to a huge empty spot in the living room. As happy as you were that you decked the place out with Christmas decor, something was missing.
"We need a tree." You commented aloud.
"No we don't. What you did is plenty."
"Come on, Seonghwa. You can't have Christmas without a tree."
"If you wanna go, by all means, knock yourself out, but I'm not going."
"Don't be such a Scrooge." You ruffled his hair playfully. "Plus, I could use an assistant to help choose the perfect tree."
Seonghwa gave you a hard glare, but stopped when he saw the bright expression on your face. As badly as he wanted to say no, he couldn't.
"Alright, fine. If it'll make you happy, I'll go." He gave in.
"Wonderful!"
Once the both of you were all bundled up, you jumped in the car and drove off to the nearest Christmas tree farm.
"There it is!" You pointed.
You pulled your car into a parking space and stepped out into the lot. A sign at the entrance of the tree farm read: Get your Christmas trees here! You hurried across the small parking lot, Seonghwa dragging behind. Closing your eyes, you took in a deep breath, enjoying the scent of the trees.
"Do you smell that?" You asked.
"Not really." Seonghwa muttered.
You ignore his response, scanning the selection of evergreens.
"Let's look at this tree." You pointed. "It looks really nice."
You walked over to said tree and began inspecting it, running your fingertips along some of the the needles as you walked around the fir. Upon inspection, you shook your head.
"There are some dead limbs on here. We don't want that."
"Of course we don't." Seonghwa remarked sarcastically.
You continued your search, passing by trees that didn't catch your eye. You finally came to a stop when you spotted the perfect tree. It was the perfect height, not too tall, but not too short either. The fir was perfectly healthy and had deep green needles.
"This is the one." You stated.
Glancing around, you called one of the employees over, showing him the tree you wanted.
"Alright. We'll get it all wrapped up for you." He told you before walking off.
As you waited, you spotted a man dressed as Santa Claus sitting in a large, red chair under a small awning. There were no kids around, so you decided to have some fun.
"Hey Mr. Claus." You greeted the man as you approached.
He smiled warmly. "Hello, young lady. What would you like for Christmas?"
"Oh." You were surprised he asked. "I didn't expect that." You chuckled.
"Why? You're never too old to get a Christmas present from Santa."
You smiled, then began to think about what you wanted. You knew Santa wasn't real and that this wish couldn't be fulfilled, but you wanted to tell the man anyway. You leaned in, whispering something in his ear.
"Oh a very kind wish." He responded with a nod.
His eyes trailed over to Seonghwa who was watching you from a distance, a soft expression on his face and a slight twinkle in his eye.
"I have a feeling it'll come true." Santa told you.
Oblivious to Seonghwa's staring, you gave the man in red a gentle smile.
"We'll see."
You returned to your grumpy roommate who put on his usual sour expression when you walked up.
"What was that?" He asked.
"Oh. I was just talking to Santa." You answered with a shrug. "I thought it would be fun."
"Aren't you too old for Santa Claus?"
"Apparently not." As you answered Seonghwa, you spotted a small stand nearby serving hot cocoa and gingerbread cookies.
"Ooh. They're selling hot chocolate. You want some?"
"I don't know."
"You're seriously gonna turn down a delicious, hot, chocolatey drink? It's chilly out here. A hot cocoa would warm you up."
"Alright, fine. I guess I'll have one."
"Perfect." You smiled and headed over to the small stand, ordering two medium hot chocolates.
The man working at the stand had your drinks ready before you knew it. You started rummaging around in your bag for cash only to stop with you saw Seonghwa reach across the counter with money in his hand. You glanced up at him, but he kept his gaze ahead as he grabbed his drink. You followed suit, taking your beverage. The warmth from the liquid seeped through the cup, radiating onto your cold hands. You took a sip, the sweet, cocoa coating your tastebuds and warming you from the inside out. You let out a hum of satisfaction before taking another sip.
"Thank you for paying. You didn't have to, but I appreciate it. That was very nice."
"It's no problem." Seonghwa answered as he sipped on his cocoa.
About that time, one of the tree farm employees approached you to let you know the tree was ready. Behind him were two other employees with your tree resting on their shoulders.
"Thank you so much. My vehicle is this way." You motioned, leading the group to your car.
They tied the tree snugly to the roof, ensuring that it didn't fall off on the trip home. You paid the man who you spoke with about the tree and bid him goodbye, wishing him a Merry Christmas as you left.
"This stupid tree is making a mess." Grunted Seonghwa. "Look at all these pine needles."
"That's just part of it. We can always clean it up later." You told him, reaching for another ornament. "Why don't you help out?"
"I'm not decorating."
"At least put this one on."
Seonghwa sighed, pushing himself up from his spot on the couch. When he reached for the ornament, he stopped. Pinched between your fingers, hanging from a silvery string was an ornament of Toothless the dragon. Seonghwa blinked a few times before bringing his eyes up to meet yours.
"What do you think?" You inquired with a bright smile. "He reminds me of you, so I thought it was fitting that I buy it."
He didn't answer—he couldn't.
"Oh. Check this out. I got one for myself too." You pulled out another ornament, this one depicting the Light Fury.
If Seonghwa's eyes weren't wide already, they sure were now. Seeing you grinning brightly, holding both ornaments made his cheeks warm. Did you not realize that the two characters were in love in the movie? Were you aware of what you were doing?
Based on the cheery gleam in your eye, you were completely oblivious to the fact and he didn't know if that made the situation better or worse.
"Seonghwa?" You called.
He blinked himself out of his daze, returning to reality.
"Sorry." He murmured, taking the ornament from you.
"Look at the bottom." You urged.
He turned it upside down. Written in tiny, white letters was, Our first Christmas 20XX
Seonghwa's face was on fire at that point. First the matching ornaments, now this? It was all becoming too much and it didn't help that he had a massive crush on you.
"It's..." He started to speak again, but the words were stuck.
"You're speechless." You chuckled. "I'm glad. Why don't you hang it on the tree?"
He slowly moved towards the fir, hanging the ornament on a branch. He momentarily debated about going back to the couch, but decided not to.
"I don't mind helping out." He told you, his voice coming out quieter than he intended.
Your face lit up at his offer.
"You mean it?"
He nodded.
You let out a small squeak of excitement. "Grab an ornament and put it wherever." You told him, gesturing to the box of festive tree decorations.
He then began pulling ornaments out of the box, strategically placing them onto the tree, making sure each one was spaced out just right and filled in any gaps.
Once the tree was finished, you stepped back and got a look at it. The lights you had strung around the fir were ready to be plugged in. You couldn't wait to see what the tree looked like all lit up. As you prepared to plug in the Christmas lights, you noticed Seonghwa was out of the room. Before you could call his name, he came rushing in with a handheld brush and dustpan, dropping to the floor to sweep up the needles littering the hardwood panels.
"Sorry." He chuckled softly. "I can't stand it."
Once he cleaned up the needles, you placed the tree skirt around the metal base that held the evergreen.
"Alright." You clasped your hands together, grabbing the plug once again. "Are you ready?"
"I suppose." Answered Seonghwa.
You shoved the plug into the outlet, the tree coming to life, giving off a warm glow and illuminating the room. A soft gasp left you as you marveled at the festive sight before you.
Despite the merry spectacle in front of him, Seonghwa's eyes were on you the whole time. The lights on the Christmas tree reflected off your large eyes, making them twinkle in wonder and doubling your cuteness. He could feel himself falling even harder for you, which wasn't totally a bad thing.
"You know what we should do next? Bake cookies."
Seonghwa was quick to regain his composure, acting indifferent and pretending like he wasn't just ogling at you.
"I've had enough Christmas for today, thanks." He responded.
"Baking cookies isn't a Christmas thing." You told him.
"Still. You can bake them yourself. I'm not interested."
Truth is, he was interested. He hated Christmas for so long and suddenly you come along and start changing his mind in just a few days. The idea was nearly impossible for him to comprehend.
"Are you sure? This is my last offer." You told him.
Seonghwa sucked in a deep breath, weighing his options. If he baked cookies with you, then he would be able to spend more time with you, which he really wanted. So, in the end, he agreed.
In all honesty, he enjoyed baking with you. Did you make a mess? Yes, a little, but the important thing is you both had fun and also made some delicious chocolate chip cookies.
You were right. Baking cookies isn't just a Christmas thing, but it did somehow feel festive, which Seonghwa, for once, didn't completely hate.
Christmas approached quicker than you had anticipated. You didn't have anywhere to go or anyone to hang out with, so you opted to stay home and have your own little Christmas party with Seonghwa. He wasn't too keen on the idea, but you knew that you would somehow win him over as you had with other festive things.
You managed to talk Seonghwa into letting you play Christmas music. To your surprise, he was more easily persuaded than you expected.
You were currently baking gingerbread cookies that Seonghwa helped you make. The two of you sat in the living room playing board games and card games while the cookies baked in the oven. Seonghwa had just beat you at an intense game of UNO when you heard the oven beep from the kitchen.
"Oh! The cookies are done." You pushed yourself up from the floor. "I'll be right back."
You exited the room, going to the kitchen to take the gingerbread cookies from the oven. They looked incredible. Each one was perfectly shaped like a little gingerbread man. The next step was to decorate them, then they would be ready to eat.
"Hey, Seonghwa. If you wanna come help decorate the cookies they're-" You came to a stop when you saw him standing by the tree near the window.
"Look." He pointed. "It's snowing."
You walked over, standing beside him and peering out the window. Sure enough, there were large, fluffy snowflakes falling from the sky in a flurry, coating the street below in white powder.
"Wow." You marveled. "This is perfect. A white Christmas."
"Y/n." Seonghwa called out softly.
"Yes?"
Seonghwa took your hands in his, taking a step closer just as a slow Christmas song begin to play, the music filling the room.
"Can we dance?" He asked.
You nodded, sliding your arms around his shoulders. Being in such close quarters made you feel a bit bashful, so you tried to distract yourself by focusing on the song.
Seonghwa held you close as the two of you stood by the window, swaying to the music and watching the snow fall outside.
"Look up." He told you.
You did as he said, lifting your gaze only to spot mistletoe hanging from the ceiling.
"I thought you didn't like Christmas." You remarked with a smirk.
"Not entirely."
You knew what was coming next and you were more than ready for it.
"What about decorating the cookies?" You asked, your eyes glued to his lips.
"The cookies can wait."
As soon as the words left his mouth, he closed the gap between you, placing his lips gently on yours.
Your hands that were previously resting on his shoulders moved to his hair, gently running your fingers through it. You could feel Seonghwa's body relax under your touch, meaning that he was enjoying it. You couldn't help but smile a little against his lips.
"I have a confession." Seonghwa uttered once he pulled away.
"That you like me?" You grinned.
"Besides that." He chuckled shyly, his cheeks tinted pink.
"What's the confession?"
"You made me appreciate Christmas. I've never really been a fan of Christmas. It's just too merry, too happy, and too bright—but seeing the way your face would light up whenever you would do anything Christmas related, made me see things differently."
You couldn't help but smile at his confession. Truthfully, you had noticed a change in him over the past month, and knowing that you played a part in that made you happy.
"So, that means you'll participate in Yuletide traditions?" You asked, hopefully.
"Perhaps."
"Then let's go decorate those cookies." You took his hand, attempting to lead him to the kitchen, only for him to swiftly pull you back towards him.
"First, one more kiss."

It is again early morning, but I have rested and enjoyed the last twenty-four hours. I slept till late in the day, and awoke of my own accord. When I had dressed myself I went into the room where we had supped, and found a cold breakfast laid out, with coffee kept hot by the pot being placed on the hearth. There was a card on the table, on which was written:—
"I have to be absent for a while. Do not wait for me.—D." I set to and enjoyed a hearty meal. When I had done, I looked for a bell, so that I might let the servants know I had finished; but I could not find one. There are certainly odd deficiencies in the house, considering the extraordinary evidences of wealth which are round me. The table service is of gold, and so beautifully wrought that it must be of immense value. The curtains and upholstery of the chairs and sofas and the hangings of my bed are of the costliest and most beautiful fabrics, and must have been of fabulous value when they were made, for they are centuries old, though in excellent order. I saw something like them in Hampton Court, but there they were worn and frayed and moth-eaten. But still in none of the rooms is there a mirror. There is not even a toilet glass on my table, and I had to get the little shaving glass from my bag before I could either shave or brush my hair. I have not yet seen a servant anywhere, or heard a sound near the castle except the howling of wolves. Some time after I had finished my meal—I do not know whether to call it breakfast or dinner, for it was between five and six o'clock when I had it—I looked about for something to read, for I did not like to go about the castle until I had asked the Count's permission. There was absolutely nothing in the room, book, newspaper, or even writing materials; so I opened another door in the room and found a sort of library. The door opposite mine I tried, but found it locked. (dracula)
When I woke up, I was alone, lying on a sofa in a simply furnished little bedroom, with an ordinary mahogany bedstead, lit by a lamp standing on the marble top of an old Louis-Philippe chest of drawers. I soon discovered that I was a prisoner and that the only outlet from my room led to a very comfortable bath-room. On returning to the bedroom, I saw on the chest of drawers a note, in red ink, which said, 'My dear Christine, you need have no concern as to your fate.  You have no better nor more respectful friend in the world than myself.  You are alone, at present, in this home which is yours.  I am going out shopping to fetch you all the things that you can need.' I felt sure that I had fallen into the hands of a madman.  I ran round my little apartment, looking for a way of escape which I could not find. (the phantom of the opera)
The parallels are so chilling. The note. The locked doors. Christine is more desperate than Jonathan because she already knows for a fact that she’s been kidnapped (and I love the inversion too. She fell into the trap because she thought Erik was a supernatural being, an Angel sent by her father, when his danger lies in the fact that he’s just a normal man. Jonathan fell into the trap thinking he was going to meet a normal man, and fell in the clutches of a dangerous vampire), while Jonathan is frightened of the red flags, but still hasn’t enough evidence to fully realize what happened to him. And I love the differences too. Erik, under the delusion that he’ll later manage to make Christine into his wife, almost seems to care about his captive’s comfort. She has the means to do her toilette, and assurances that she won’t be touched without her consent. Of course, that’s nothing. He has fucking kidnapped and imprisoned her, and she’s right to despair. But even at these early stages, when Dracula has yet to show his true colors, Jonathan is being offered less than Christine. Dracula later claims to love him, yet he’s already deprived of mirrors and is already being touched in ways that make him uncomfortable. I love and am fascinated by both the similarities and the differences in these two passages. I love Jonathan Harker, Gothic Heroine.

Generation 1 ⚘ The Fixer Upper
All your life you’ve dreamed of renovating homes. It is your passion, and nothing is going to stop you! You start out as a young adult with only $5,000 simoleons to your name and an empty plot of land waiting to be utilized into something good! With your own two hands, build up a home and furnish it with items you’ve collected/bought. You can either dumpster dive, shop at retail stores, or thrift at flea markets.
However, countless nights alone in the unfurnished home has been quite lonely. You can’t help but feel like this is something that should be done with a family. So you go on dates. Hoping to find someone to settle down with, to build this legacy with. It is on your 5th date that you believe you’ve found your perfect match. You know this with your whole heart and soul! The two of you meet, fall in love, and get married all within the span of a week. You’re a busy couple, the house won’t build itself.
Soon, the now once empty lot is complete! And you are ready to move out. Move out your household and sell the furniture. Now your family is ready to move onwards to another renovation. However, this time it’s an abandoned home near the beach in Sulani. You move your family into this abandoned home and with the help of your partner, along with your little children, you guys renovate this into your permanent forever home.

○ Have at least two kids
○ Fully furnish one home with items you’ve bought/collected

Generation 2 ⚘ The Greatest Love Triangle
The new neighbors moved across the waters. They had a little kid just the same age as you. The kid even went to the same school. You decided in your head to make this kid your friend. No scratch that, your best friend! You spend your afternoons combing the beach for seashells and unique items to give to your shy new friend. Neglecting your after school projects and even homework at times. All you wanted to do was play with your new friend.
All things changed once you reached high school, your best friend got hotter, you got hotter, or was it the blazing sun in Sulani? Who knows, but all you knew was you have the hots for your best friend and there is nothing you can do about it. Or is there? A little harmless flirt here and there wouldn’t kill anyone right? It was at this time that your parents started cracking down on your “future”. They constantly nag you about your goals and plans and honestly you yourself have no clue. The constant badgering puts a slightly negative strain on your relationship with your parents. So when you become a young adult, you move out with your best friend to a nearby beach home.
The two of you are now ready to party all night long. Yes you still have the hots for your bestie but would you be down to ruin this good friendship if things don’t end up working out? That fear keeps you from pursuing anything with them but like before, the little flirtatious tickling, endless cloud gazing, and even little winks here and there just pulls at your heart strings. One night at the bar with your bestie, a hot new eye-candy appears. You feel a tingle, or is it the drink? You introduce yourself and sparks ignite! Thus, the greatest love triangle of a lifetime!
Traits: Cheerful, Romantic
Aspiration: Soulmate
Location: Sulani
Goals/Requirements:
○ Max the Mixology, Dancing, & Mischief skills
○ Become best-friends with the neighbor’s kid
○ Maintain an average of C throughout middle and high school.
○ Once young adult, move into a new place with your bestie
○ Go out for drinks at least two times a week
○ Meet a new love interest at the bar
○ Go on at least two dates with the love interest
○ Maintain a small romance between you and your bestie
○ Have at least two kids
○ Marry either your bestie or the love interest
○ Complete your aspiration
゚+..。*゚+
Generation 3 ⚘ No Time For Love
A whole childhood of listening to the same love story a thousand times. At this point you’re surprised you’re still sane. Nothing is worse than listening to your parents rave on and on about how perfect they are for each other and how they were meant for one another. Oof, not to even mention the constant public display of affection! It was embarrassing for you!
You grew up gagging at the thought of love. The thought of “the one” disgusted you. The last thing you wanted to do was find “the one”. You wanted to be better than your parents. You wanted an education, a REAL job. After high school you set out for Uni to pursue a career in engineering. Finally you’re excited to move the heck out of that god forsaken town! Screw the beach! The only problem was you didn’t have much money to attend college and you were not going to ask your parents for money! The only other person you knew that had money to help fund for your schooling was your Aunt/Uncle. Mustering up the courage to contact them, you ask them to borrow a sum of money. And set out to start your life!
You move out of Sulani and into one of the Uni dorms. There you meet your best friend and a few lovers. But they never lead to anything serious. You weren’t looking for that. You graduated and quickly found a job as an engineer. Your goal is to climb the top of the ladder. Nothing else matters to you. It was all going perfectly fine until a one night stand leaves you with very bad news. The glove broke and now so are you.

Generation 4 ⚘ What the Cow Poo?
Living in the busy city was the best thing ever! There was always something happening, never once a dull moment. That is where you adapted the love for social media! Always posting selfies and Simstagram stories. Without the internet you would simply die!
A week into your new job as a style influencer, you received a call. Your landlord is evicting you for unknown reasons and you have to move out IMMEDIATELY. Stressed out, you call up your parent and they tell you that your great-grandmother has some land somewhere in the countryside.
Defeated, you hop on a plane and travel to Henford On Bagley. The smell hits you and you almost faint. The stinky cow poos and chicken feed was definitely not it. What’s even worse? NO WIFI! The place is totally OFF-THE-GRID! A one bedroom shack, a few chickens and a cow. Now you have to find your way and make this place your own.

Growing up in Henford, you realized that there are quite a lot of strays but not even a vet clinic in site! So you set out your goal. Open the very first vet clinic right at the heart of Henford On Bagley. The goal is to make sure your love for animals is reached across the whole town.
When it comes to your love life, you are quite picky. You never see yourself being with someone that doesn’t like animals so you set out to only date people who have the animal lover trait. Hoping you could start a family with little fur babies running around as well.

Steal, lie, and cheat to your heart’s content. Because that is all you can do. But there is a catch. In order to stay clear from the police, you must change your appearance every time you get caught. That means plastic surgery. And it’s not free. $2000 simoleons to change your appearance. So be sure to not get caught.
Traits: Kleptomaniac & Hot-Headed
Aspiration: Public Enemy
Location: Anywhere
Goals/Requirements:
PSA: You DO NOT need to change your entire catalog of clothing if you get caught. Just the outfit you were caught in. <3

Generation 7 ⚘ Finding The One
Your childhood life was very interesting. Your parent(s) spend a lot of time moving around and not very much time settling down. You were taught from a young age the ropes of thievery. Yeah your brain tells you that you might want to dabble in it from time to time but you want to be different. You want to be different from how your parent(s) has raised you. Therefore you set out to start your own life and with this new life of yours you find love while finding yourself.
You have your very first love. The person of your dreams or at least that’s what you hoped that person was. After a long good time together things just don’t work out so you divorce. Then there’s the hot fling of the spring. Still trying to find yourself you fall deeply in love. Not wasting any time you both get married as quickly as you can. However, after a kid and some issues in your relationship you guys decide to part ways.
Two failed marriages in, living life as a single parent, and still hopping from job to job things just aren’t going your way. At this point it just makes sense to just be alone. But you’re a hopeless romantic. You just can’t help it, you want that thrilling romance that you read in the novels, you want that kissing in the rain moment. That is when you suddenly meet this incredible sim. It’s the fact that there’s nothing special about the sim that makes them so special. However, do you hear wedding bells or is your heart still mending from preivous wonds?

Quick and easy sandwiches all you have to do is just unwrap them, slap them together and bam, you have a meal. Those Salsberry Steaks, takeoff the wrapper put them in the microwave and Bam! Food.
It sounds like a great life. Never having to cook your own food, just ordering out all the time and if not ordering out you’re always eating quick meals. But this all comes to a slow realization that this is not healthy. But dang it you can’t cook your own food so you’ll just have to learn slowly.
Research online or watch cooking shows on the TV until you reach level seven of cooking. Once reaching level seven of the cooking skill then that is when you will venture into making your own food for the first time. How will it go? Well you have to start making food for you to know ;)

Ever since your dumb cousin taught you what video games were, you became obsessed. You play it every day after school, video games just consumed you. There was no time for chores. But you’re not just a regular shmegular gamer girl/boy. You are going to go pro. You can feel it in your bones. So you set on a journey to win at least three of the gaming contests at Geekcon.

The place for inspirtation. You move to Sulani. The fresh hot sand digging between your toes and the warmth of the sun that embraces you. The sweet salty smell of the ocean just hits you right as you wake up every morning. You hear locals around saying how great Sulani is for exercising and clearing one’s mind. The locals recommend fishing, swimming, biking all of those things just so that you could be one with nature.

Adventure Poll!
Previous Poll
Though it's been a while since you've paid Cooper a visit, she hasn't changed a bit. She's always meticulously wrapped in tailored suits with colorful pocket squares or cravats or glittering cuff links. There's something about her fashion sense that feels like putting a gown on a tiger: absurd and unnecessary in theory... but damn does the tiger look good.
She grins widely at you, teeth glittering in the bright lights of her shop, eyes shining like the various jewels on display.
"I should have known that of all days, you'd come tumbling in with a torrential downpour!" she says, and she closes the gap between you two with preternatural swiftness. She pulls you into a near-crushing embrace with strength that belies her lithe frame. When she pulls away you see the swift flicker of her eyes, they dart over your cloak appraisingly, and she clasps your hand warmly in her own.
"I was hoping to impose on you for a night or two, Cooper. I promise I'll stay out of the way," you say, heartened by the warm greeting. It's nice to see a familiar face after so much strangeness.
Cooper scoffs broadly, shaking both of her hands at you before starting to scurry around the shop.
"As if you're capable of being an imposition," she says, rolling her eyes. "You're welcome in my home. Hop next door and put the kettle on, make yourself comfortable--get out something for us to eat while you're at it! I'll close up shop and be over in a minute."
"Aw, Coop," you say awkwardly, "I don't want to bother your business hours. Someone might--" Cooper cuts you off with a look that's somehow both sweet and sharp. You remember that nobody will be coming out in this weather, and also that Cooper has never done anything other than exactly what she wants to do. So you smile, dip your head, and find the door that connects the curio shop to her house.
Her home is humble and warm. It's a little better furnished than yours, and less drafty, plus it has more than two rooms, but there's a common thread of comfort and care. Being here with your new awakened senses is odd. The room literally welcomes you, everything you touch tentatively offering up memories of time you've spent here with Cooper. You hang up your cloak, coat, and backpack, and rest your quarterstaff against the door frame. You take a deep breath to quiet the Primordial murmurings, though there's some comfort in them, and set about getting tea and food ready.
A rumble flash of lightning illuminates the windows, and at its reciprocal rumble of thunder, Cooper is suddenly at your side helping you retrieve teacups from a high shelf. You startle, jumping back with a yelp at the horror-story entrance. Cooper presses an apologetic smile between her lips.
"Sorry love," she says, "should've announced myself. I'm just excited to see you--and to hear where on earth you found that cloak!"
You shake your head at her ruefully--of course she's instantly zeroed in on your new and unusual magical garment; it's her job after all. But there's also something else about her... something heightened that you've never noticed before. You trust Cooper implicitly, but that sharp smile somehow seems sharper, her eyes greener and reminiscent of deep wilderness.

Why leaving the city to settle in the province is one of the best decisions in my life
I already drafted a post earlier, pero nawala lol. So, here's my second attempt.
Tumblr media
Before the pandemic, I was living in a condo along EDSA with my then-fiancee now-husband. We paid 18K monthly for a studio-type condo, with pool and gym amenities. It was a dream come true for me since my previous homes in the metro were in not-so-Instagrammable places.
So a bit of a history of my living situations in NCR:
I left Laguna since HS for college and stayed in a dormitory. There were about 2-4 girls per room and my parents who crawled my expense through graduation often paid my rent late.
Then, I graduated and vowed to not have my parents pay a single cent for me anymore. I lived independently paying ALL of my living expenses including rent, food. My first home that I paid for myself is another dormitory with about a 7 x 7 room shared by another girl.
Then, I lived in with my then-fiancee and toxic ex in a 2-BR apartment in the middle of a busy Manila baranggay. When he left me, along with needing to pay some unpaid rent, I moved into a smaller a 1-BR apartment. Both were in the middle of a noisy, crazy Manila neighborhood where people drink and gossip 24/7.
So, fast forward to the pandemic doom, I got initial info (being an EHS & BCP person) that there would be lockdowns. My then-fiancee now-husband and I then rushed packing and left our condo unit (even after spending hours panic-buying some supplies) to go home. We never really imagined the pandemic lasting years, so for the first 3 months, we lived with our parents... transitioning between his parents' place and mine while we work remotely. But then, since we are getting married, we decided to buy a house. If there's one thing the pandemic made us realize is that HEALTH IS IMPORTANT... and he and I both know that we cannot live in a boxed condo as a permanent home. Luckily, his work perks allowed us to choose a model unit (fully furnished but a bit outdated) so it's basically ready for occupancy. It took us barely 6 months to get the papers settled (while also preparing for our wedding) but we got it.
We now live in a 2-story house located in a city in Laguna, near an SLEX exit. I'll save the logistical, administrative costs and construction gulatan costs for another story, but we were able to save enough to have some improvements like a gate, home gym, pocket garden, and repainting. We'll be spending our third Christmas (WOW) here and yes, it's still the life I want because:
Province life allows for a slower, mellower life. I am not sure if I can put it into words but there's something about waking up, walking down the stairs, taking a peek at the window and seeing Lolas sweeping their front yard, smiling and waving at you. There are neighbors who even if we rarely go out, reaches out to us to ask how we are, share a laugh or two. There are kids going to and from school. Even the traffic is way way better, not only because its decongested but because people are not in a rush? Like, kapag naluwas kami para pumasyal or for work, even a 2-3 second delay from the go-signal would cause people behind us to hit their horns like they are dying. Gulat na gulat kami at how full of rage drivers are, while here, people tend to give way. Though may mga kupal minsan, pero like 1:50 ang ratio compared sa NCR na 40:50 ata.
Everything is accessible. Maybe it's the smart location that the village is located, but Nuvali is 15 minutes away so we get to do our weekend runs and grocery shopping there every weekend. When we want a different view, Alabang or Makati is barely an hour away. We also have access to foodpanda and Grab, so we can also order food. And, when we grow tired of that, we also have an online Facebook page for the village where we can order food and have it delivered too. Kanina lang nga, dahil naka-isolation kami, pati pandesal inorder namin sa online village store.
The view can easily put you in a better mood. I remember during the MECQs, we'll just jump in the car and do a quick drive-thru run to Mcdonald's or Starbucks. We'll sometimes bring the cats with us para masanay sila. We'll eat inside the car, just open the windows a bit and see lush greens around us. On days when work feels too much or when I get depressive or anxious episodes, we'll just drive around, and instantly, I feel better as we pass by trees, farm lands and sunset view. When we run too, there's always a mini trail to discover.
We are nearer to our families. Though we may not be able to visit them as often as we want, but connecting is easier. We can have lunch outs over the weekends, or they can easily visit us at home and spend some time together. Malawak yun bahay at bakuran, so they can sleep over. Kapag may emergency, iba pa din yun may mga kakilala kahit paano na pwedeng takbuhan. We have my husband's office mates near the village and my Dad's office is also 30 minutes away from where we live. So, minsan sa amin din sya nauwi. Our house also offers a breathe of fresh air sa Mom ko when she wants to relax and play with her apos aka cats LOL.
Expenses are cheaper. Gas, groceries, services are cheaper here. Though we are not safe from the ~golden era~, we do have options like talipapa or wet markets. Since nearer din kami sa mga sakahan or isdaan, mas mura din talaga yun mga fresh produce. Sa Nuvali and LB area, madalas din may community market. Also, the 18K rent we paid for the condo? Imagine we pay less than that and we are owning this house after a few years. To share, even the 7K rent I paid for the 1-BR apartment can pay for a house here in Laguna too. No, I don't think renting is a waste of money since tinitirhan nyo naman sya, but imagine how getting a house can be a future asset (yun lupa, hindi yun bahay, but that's also another topic). But basically, LAND does not decrease in value ever. Ever ever. Kaya din bahay kinuha namin over condo.
There is space - to move, to breathe and to grow. Literally and figuratively. Literally, I am lucky to have my own home gym, and garden and garage that like now that we are in isolation, we can move around. It's easier to partition our lives between work and home, kasi may home office din ako. May place to sleep, to eat, to work out and that's important for an ADHD person like me. There also is room to grow... ewan ko pero the more I see how people can live in the provinve, the more lumawak yun pananaw at pangarap ko. No, I don't want a bigger house, but I now know that having a slow and steady life is possible. Yun, hindi kailangan pagod at ngarag to earn money, because people here, maraming may passive income and all. Parang here, money flows in even when you don't do much. Hindi ko ma-explain pero siguro totoo yun kapag mas malawak yun paligid mo, mas feeling mo din hindi ka nakakahon? (Though, we really need to do some spring cleaning LOL kasi ang kalat na ng bahay.)
My mental health has greatly improved. Probably because of all the reasons mentioned above. But, you know, taking myself away from that hustle and bustle of the city, really allowed me to slow down and think about what I really want in life. Dito sa probinsya ko narealize na life doesn't need to be complicated. Dito ko din na-allow ang sarili ko stop when I tend to want want want a lot? Kasi, in the midst of every grit and grind work day, masaya ako to just slow down, have a coffee or a glass of wine and spend time with my husband and cats. And really, that's all I need. In a world that tells you that you need to work-out, prep food, be excellent at work, learn new things, have a hobby, stay connected with loved ones and all sorts of MUSTS, the province life allowed me to tone it down and just do what I can. The more we do so much minsan, the more we lose who we are... or that's how I feel. The province life allows me to be just me~ whoever I want to be.

I know not everyone has this privilege, and for this I am grateful - for the opportunities that came our way, for the blessings given to us and for the hard work we put in. 🧿 It's weird pero the pandemic really did turn our life around, kasi naipakita sa akin kung ano yun importante - Health, connections and peace of mind. Yan lang pala talaga kailangan ko.
So, anyways, ayun lang. If you have the chance, give it a think. Alam ko hindi lahat possible ito sa work nila, but this is also why I chose to make it a non-negotiable when I consider work offers. Either remote or hybrid. Because this is now home and I can't sacrifice this peace for career progression or additional pay.
I hope you read this not feeling like I am boasting. Sa totoo lang, hindi ko inakalang dadating ako sa ganitong level of contentment... o baka natuto lang talaga akong maging grateful sa araw-araw. Good or bad, there's always something positive (gaya ng antigen test namin, eme). Nagpapasalamat lang talaga ako sobra for being here... so I really try to pay it forward too. My husband, I noticed, does the same na din. Every chance we get, we share our blessings.
Universe, thank you. I trust that 2023 would only bring us closer to the simple farm life we want. 🧿. 🪬. 👁️‍🗨️.
