House Isekai: A Realm Reborn - Prologue (Rebuild)
Tumblr media
DING, DING DING DING, DONG!
[Life in Garreg Mach Monastery - Fire Emblem: Three Houses OST]
Sitri yawned as she heard the Monastery' bell echo throughout Garreg Mach. Rubbing her eyes, she slowly turned to the window that was letting sunlight in. It was in the sunlight Sitri saw a familiar figure crossing her arms and a scowl staring straight into her.
(Sothis) "I swear, the sleeping problems must run throughout the entire family."
(Sitri) yawn "Good morning, Sothis."
(Sothis) "It's noon, not morning!"
Sitri didn't respond as she lazily got off the bed and sat herself in a chair front of the mirror. She dug around her drawers trying to find a brush before she heard Sothis continue.
(Sothis) "I can't believe anyone could possibly sleep in this much!"
Sitri squinted at Sothis via the mirror as the brush straightened her dark green hair.
(Sitri) "I don't think you're in any position to lecture me about sleeping in."
(Sothis) "I stopped doing that years ago while you have yet to-!"
After a little bit, Sitri began to tune the noise out. She got into her uniform and checked the mirror. Her modified nun outfit didn't display any dirt as the capelet covered her left shoulder. The armored gauntlets were comfortably resting in her elbows and forearms. Sitri's eyes travelled down to her waist, where a small blue dagger sat on her belt.
Sitri finally tuned back into Sothis talking, who was still going off about her sleep schedule. Deciding this was too early in the afternoon to deal with, Sitri cut her off.
(Sitri) "Sothis. Enough. It's time we head out."
(Sothis) "Ugh, we are not done talking about this!"
Sitri chuckled, pushing open the door and her eyes taking a moment to adjust to how bright today was. She turned to her right to see a multitude of students hanging around the student dorms. Some of them waved to her, to which she politely waved back with a smile.
The students seemed to be enjoying their Sunday off, all spending their free time relaxing, studying, or training with friends. After all this time, the sight never failed to make Sitri relax. As she approached the faculty office, the sounds of chatter were drowned out by mechanical footsteps.
A steel golem that stood about three times the height of a normal man slowly walked past her, the clanking armor of a patrol of soldier right behind it drowning out the students. Sothis appeared behind Sitri, both of them staring at it as it slowly walked onto the bridge leading into the Cathedral.
(Sitri) "I still can't believe we're able to produce something like that in this day and age."
(Sothis) "Times are changing, I suppose."
Ever since the Church of Seiros was dissolved, Adrestia and Leicester led the charge of technological advancement. All 3 nations managed to recover technologies thought lost to time, though they were heavily assisted by the Zanado Tower.
Fodlan went from torches and horses to lights and metal carriages powered by electricity, fuel, and magic in two short years. Many of the ideas of their newfound technology was heavily borrowed, however. Sitri seemed to recall Dimitri and Edelgard mentioning it was the Persona Users and Class VII who had access to this advanced tech, giving them the foundation to build upon. The Zanado Tower allowed the scientists of Fodlan to access the memories of the offworlders to create their own versions of what they saw.
Chief among them being the Armiger Knight, a copy of Rean Schwarzer's Valimar. It was a golem made of metal, big enough for a person to get inside and take control of with a combination of magic and levers. It resembled a statue of a knight when standing still, the limbs and head being lanky enough to pass as humanoid. The Armiger had been around for almost a year now ever since the first few prototypes were deployed in Adrestia.
The three nations of Fodlan had a few regiments of them, but it was Garreg Mach that possessed the highest number of Armigers. Sitri had received training on how to pilot them, but never owned a private one, deciding it'd be better to give hers to the student body for training purposes.
It was just one of many things she could never get used to seeing, no matter how many times she saw it walk past her.
Beep beep!
Sitri's attention went to her belt as she pulled out a small flat crystal. Speaking of technology she hadn't gotten used to...
It began glowing with blue energy as a voice spoke out of it.
(Mercedes's Voice) "Headmaster? Everyone is here at the Audience Chamber as you requested."
(Sitri) "I'm on my way."
The crystal dimmed as Sitri put it back in her pocket. They were called Communicator Crystals, last she recalled. She felt the name was a bit too long, but couldn't be bothered to think of a shorter name. Not that she invented these things anyway. This was still in the prototype phase, so only a select few throughout Fodlan owned them. Garreg Mach Monastery again owned the highest amount of them.
Everyone in her staff owned one, including her. Deciding she had kept them waiting long enough, Sitri began to walk towards the faculty office, making sure to acknowledge and greet every student who bowed or said hello. Arriving upon the entrance to the offices, she gave a nod to the two guards in front, who wore the colors of Faerghus and Leicester.
Sitri made her way up the stairs towards the Audience Chamber, passing by several Adrestian soldiers who gave her a salute as she walked by. Sitri saluted them back as they stepped to the side to let her pass. She opened the door to see her staff waiting for her. Yuri gave a casual wave with one hand while Constance bowed. Mercedes smiled and gave a nod. Recette excitedly waved while Tear floated next to her shoulder, gracefully bowing.
(Mercedes) "Afternoon, Headmaster!"
(Yuri) "Little late, dont'cha think?"
(Tear) "Reminds me of a certain someone who's been sleeping in too much."
(Recette) "Hey, it's not like we were late or anything, Sitri was later than us!"
(Constance) "I am not sure that is something you should be banking on, Miss Lemongrass."
(Sitri) "Hah, sorry about that everyone."
Sothis simply sighed and floated over next to Tear. She could've chosen anywhere to float, but decided to hang around the few people that could actually see her. Mercedes, Yuri, and Constance, along with the rest of Fodlan, seemed to forget she ever existed alongside them.
Sitri walked to the front of the room and stood straight, nodding at everyone.
(Sitri) "Now, let us discuss our findings this week. Yuri, please start us off."
...
Kairos sat in front of his desk, slowly turning through the pages of a spellbook he had been studying for almost a week now. He could recite the movement needed to cast it entirely by memory, but he wanted to be safe than sorry. There was no telling if the upcoming practical exam Tuesday was going to throw a curveball. Before he could focus any more attention to the repetitious task, he heard a knock at the door.
Knock knock knock!
He grunted in slight annoyance, adjusting his glasses before responding.
(Kairos) "The door is open."
The door gently swung open as he heard the clanking of armor walk into the room. Although many soldiers were heavily armored in the Monastery, there was only one person in it who'd pay Kairos any mind.
(Stefan) "Still studying?"
(Kairos) "Hm."
(Stefan) "Come on, today's beautiful outside, you can't spend it all cooped up in here!"
(Kairos) "And have you already finished studying for the practical?"
(Stefan) "Er..."
Stefan laughed nervously, which told Kairos all he needed to know. Kairos spun around in his chair to face Stefan, giving an unamused look.
(Kairos) "Frankly, I'm more worried for your grades than mine. But, you do have a point. Some fresh air would be nice."
Stefan immediately perked up as he stepped to the side, arms gesturing out the door.
(Stefan) "Great! Let's grab something to bite real quick, I'm starving!"
Kairos chuckled and got up, the both of them walking towards the dining hall together. On the way, they saw an Armiger in the courtyard wobbling. Any student and guard steered clear of the field, letting it have the space to fall in case it did. A soldier bearing Adrestian colors and golden trims was the only one who stood close by, arms crossed and shaking his head.
(Soldier) "No, the lever on the top right, Mcgrath. If you don't turn that downwards, your Armiger will have its locking mechanism in place!"
(Stefan) "Oh man, that explains it. Elizabeth is in there."
(Kairos) "Psh, who cares about her? Just let her deal with it."
Kairos made a notion to keep moving, but Stefan couldn't help himself and walked towards the Armiger. The soldier immediately noted his presence.
(Soldier) "Ah, Stefan. I'd stand back if I were you. Mcgrath is struggling with this thing."
Elizabeth's voice rung out from the Armiger, obviously shaky.
(Elizabeth's Voice) "M-My apologies, sir! I am used to horseback riding not...whatever this is!"
(Stefan) "Elizabeth! Once you turn the locking mechanism off, use your magic to stabilize the Armiger, otherwise you'll fall!"
A brief moment of silence passed before the Armiger suddenly stood upright. No longer wobbling, it stood completely still.
(Elizabeth's voice) "I...I did it! Haha, YES!"
The soldier turned to Kairos and nodded.
(Soldier) "Appreciate the help, son. Alright Mcgrath, that's enough for today. You can dismount it."
The center of the Armiger swung open, Elizabeth slowly stepping outside and landing on the ground. Once she dusted off her pants, she bowed to the soldier.
(Elizabeth) "Thank you for the training as always, Engineer Adams!"
(Adams) "Thank your friend here, I only made sure you didn't fall flat on your ass. Now, as you were, I gotta take this thing back to the Cathedral."
Adams waved his hand nonchalantly and went into the cockpit and walking off with the Armiger. Elizabeth smiled at Stefan and did a more proper bow, fit for a noble.
(Elizabeth) "Then I am in your debt once again, Stefan!"
Stefan bashfully rubbed the back of his neck as he averted his gaze.
(Stefan) "I-It's nothing, really. I just spend a lot of time training in the Armigers, so I know what the feeling is like when you first take control of it."
(Elizabeth) "Yes, I'm afraid I still haven't gotten used to them...Oh! I apologize for interrupting you during a day off!"
(Stefan) "Don't worry, I'm always glad to help. I was just about to grab lunch with Kairos."
Upon mentioning the name, Elizabeth's smile quickly disappeared, her gaze slowly going to her right as Kairos approached.
(Kairos) "You done, Stefan?"
(Elizabeth) "Ah. I imagine you had some smidge of satisfaction watching me bumble about, Kairos."
(Kairos) "When it involves you, I doubt I can feel anything remotely positive, Elizabeth."
(Stefan) "C-Come on you two...-"
Before Stefan could unsuccessfully attempt to calm them down, both Kairos and Elizabeth's ears were yanked downwards, catching them both off guard.
(Kairos) "OW! OW OW OW!"
(Elizabeth) "AGH?!"
When their eyes looked to the source, it was a small girl pulling both their ears.
(Helena) "No fighting. Professor's orders."
Helena let go, both of them startled by how surprisingly strong she was. Kairos straightened his glasses as he shook his head.
(Kairos) "Ugh, damn you can pinch hard..."
(Elizabeth) "Helena, dear, I thought I taught you better than to sneak up out of nowhere like that!"
Helena simply shrugged with a deadpan expression. She then turned to Stefan with the same face.
(Helena) "If these two are too busy ripping out each other's throats, I can eat lunch with you."
(Stefan) "Ha...Thanks, I think?"
(Kairos) "Nonsense, we were just going-."
(Stefan) "Elizabeth, would you like to join us?"
Kairos immediately spun around to Stefan, his eye twitching underneath his glasses.
(Elizabeth) "Well...it'd be remiss of me to pay back your kindness for assisting me earlier, so very well."
(Stefan) "Just...play nicely you two."
(Kairos/Elizabeth) "I HAVEN'T EVEN DONE ANYTHING!"
The four departed for the mess hall, Kairos and Elizabeth glaring at each other while Helena and Stefan shrugged. When they reached the entrance, they heard a voice call out to them.
(Astrid) "Oh hey, over here!"
Kairos and Helena waved hello and once everyone grabbed their food, they sat by Astrid who was sitting alone at the end of the table, 3 plates of food her only company.
Everyone else had one plate of food, and even then it was barely covered.
(Kairos) "Good goddess, Astrid. Think this is enough?"
(Astrid) munch munch "Whayameab?"
Helena, still having her blank expression, just shook her head.
(Helena) "No talking with your mouth full."
Taking the time to swallow her food, Astrid asked the question again.
(Astrid) gulp! "Ah! What do you mean? We go through a lot of energy throughout the day, you know!"
Stefan looked at his one plate then back to Astrid's.
(Stefan) "...She's got a point. I'm getting more."
He got up from his seat with a newfound fire in his eyes, making everyone but Astrid sigh.
(Astrid) "See, he gets it!"
(Elizabeth) "But what about dinner? You both will spoil your appetites!"
(Astrid) "Nonsense, we got a lot of training to do for the practical exams, we'll work up a big one too!"
(Kairos) "Ah, speaking of which, how are your studies going? I can basically see my spellbook whenever I close my eyes."
Helena completely froze before she could put the fork into her mouth.
(Helena) "...Exam?"
(Astrid) "Yeah, Tuesday morning, we'll be getting judged by our professors for our combat capabilities. You didn't know?"
Helena's shoulders seemed to relax after she processed Astrid's words.
(Helena) "Oh. Nothing to worry about then."
(Elizabeth) "You haven't studied at all, did you?"
(Kairos) "While I don't think anyone should skip out on their coursework, I think Helena will do just fine...The physical portion anyway."
Helena only grunted in response. Stefan sat back down next to Kairos and turned to her.
(Stefan) "Well we don't need to worry about the written portion for a while! Besides, it's the physical part that matters in a practical exam anyway."
(Astrid) "Agreed. The whole writing part of them is pretty pointless."
(Elizabeth) "Hmph, says you! I will have you all attend my study sessions once this exam is over, you have grown far too lax!"
(Kairos) "Hey, what makes you think I can't teach Stefan or Astrid?"
(Elizabeth) "Your intelligence is not being called into question, Kairos. It's your willingness to let them skip out on sessions!"
(Astrid) "As if you don't do the same with Helena-"
(Elizabeth) "-That is NOT because I let her, it's because she keeps hiding!"
Finally, Helena cracked a small smile.
(Helena) "Yup."
(Elizabeth) sigh "I do wish you'd take this more seriously. This exam not a matter of just grades, but Headmaster Eisner will be a close eye for the exceptional students!"
Stefan, Helena, and Astrid stiffened upon hearing the last part.
(Astrid) "W-Wait, really?!"
(Kairos) "If you had been paying attention in class, you'd have known that by now. Those chosen few will be taken into a special class personally led by her."
(Stefan) "Oh crap! We gotta get started soon!"
Stefan and Astrid began scarfing down their food, much to Elizabeth's dismay. Kairos just shook his head while Helena shrugged.
...
(Mercedes) "-...and that about sums up what I've seen out of the student body. There were a few who seemed promising, but we will not know until Tuesday's Exam."
Sitri put a finger to her chin as she took everyone's words into consideration.
(Constance) "Do you truly think the students are ready to travel all over Fodlan? I do not believe even back in the day, we were."
(Yuri) "Frankly, times are even more dangerous now than they were back then."
(Recette) "It's not many that are going out right? We're just picking the best ones out of everyone."
(Mercedes) "Recette dear, we do not want to see even one of our students get hurt. Garreg Mach is safe, but everywhere else..."
(Tear) "Hm. From what I've read on the reports, the attacks in Adrestian and Leicester territories have increased."
Sothis looked over to Sitri, crossing her arms.
(Sothis) "So, what are you thinking?"
Sitri's eyes looked up, but spoke only inside her own head.
(Sitri) Back in the day, Byleth and his students went out to solve these...problems for the Church.
(Sothis) "Yes, but the times have changed. The world is arguably more volatile than before, what with these Separatists, the remnants of Those Who Slither and Church. Taking the students out of Garreg Mach could be incredibly dangerous for them."
(Sitri) Well, this IS an officer's academy. But you raise a fair point.
Sitri tuned back into the conversation everyone else was having.
(Yuri) "Well, even when we find the chosen few students, how are we gonna teach the houses? I doubt any of us want to take them into the warzone that is Fhirdiad."
(Mercedes) "I do not think we'll have a choice. Edelgard, Dimitri, and Claude will ask us many tasks. Sitri's group the most dangerous ones, presumably."
(Constance) "Hm...I wish we had more of our old friends around."
(Recette) "Oh, maybe we can hire adventurers?"
(Tear) "I do not think we can entrust them with the safety of our students, only our gold. And that can easily be betrayed as well."
(Sitri) "Hm. And Mercedes had a point, we're going to get called into some dangerous missions. It's not like the nations can spare any more soldiers to us than they already have-..."
Sitri's eyes lit up, catching everyone's attention. Since Sothis could read her mind, her eyes were already going wide.
(Constance) "Lady Sitri?"
(Sitri) "We're short on help, the threats in this world are rising exponentially higher, and we need people we can trust to teach our students."
(Yuri) "And...who'd those people be?"
...
...
[Dead Broke - Konosuba OST]
Kazuma sat on the chair, tapping his fingers against the armrest sighing loudly. No one was in the house currently. Megumin was off casting explosions with Yunyun, Darkness, surprisingly, was off doing Noble duties. And as for Aqua…Who the hell knows what she was up to right now?
(Kazuma) “So…god damn…BORED.”
He slumped back on the couch, grumbling to himself. Nothing sounded particularly entertaining or stimulating right now. Kazuma got off and began pacing back and forth trying to think of something. This was the fourth week in a row he had done nothing. At first he loved it. Then it hit him, there was no one at home to even talk to since they were off doing their own thing.
He had gotten exactly what he wanted, peace and quiet. Now, he had too much of it. There was no devil king to defeat, no quests to do, no one to even have lunch with.
(Kazuma) “Ugh...this SUCKS!”
He kicked the table leg in frustration, which only made his foot hurt and made him swear even more. Kazuma shook his head and went into the kitchen. He swung open the pantry, trying to find any bottles of wine-They were gone. Why the hell were they go-
(Kazuma) “THAT BLUE LITTLE BITCH.”
Aqua took all of it. Literally all of it. Even the ones he thought he hid. To say anyone outside could hear him would have been an understatement. He made one last scream of pure unadulterated anger before he fell to the floor, ready to cry. There was literally nothing to do. Nothing at all.
Beep! Beep! Beep!
(Kazuma) “…The hell?”
He sat up, feeling a vibration in his pocket. Raising an eyebrow he reached into it and pulled out a small crest.
(Kazuma) “When was this in my-”
It was a tiny badge of House Isekai’s logo.
(Kazuma) “Man…That’s something I haven’t thought of in a while…Wait a second, we never had anything like this, why the hell is it in my pocket?”
Beep! Beep! Beep!
(Kazuma) “…How do I make it shut up?”
He tried poking it.
Beep! Beep! Be-
He tried poking it multiple times. Except harder.
Beep! Be-
(Kazuma) “…”
He put it on the table, took a deep breath, then slammed it with his fist.
DING DING!
(Kazuma) “Thank go-”
BZZZRRRRRT!
Kazuma was about to scream before he heard a voice coming from it.
(Girl's voice) "H-Hello? Is this on? Am I speaking to Kazuma?"
(Kazuma) "...Yes, I'm Kazuma."
(Girl's voice) "Ah, it's been such a long time! It's so nice to hear your voice again!"
Kazuma's head racked for faces to connect the voice to. But narrowing it down, and by how cheerful the voice was, it could only be-
(Kazuma) "Towa?!"
(Towa's Voice) "Yup, yours truly!"
He felt a wave of relief wash over him. Finally, someone to talk to that wasn't a complete idiot.
(Kazuma) "...Wait, why'd you call me?"
(Towa's Voice) "You're actually the last person I'm calling. So far, I've got Rean and Aigis to respond."
If she was calling everyone then does that mean...?
(Kazuma) "Is this a high school reunion? Cause if it is, I didn't really-"
(Towa's Voice) "W-What? No. I'm afraid it's not as pleasant as that. It's about Fodlan."
Kazuma's casual demeanor suddenly vanished. It had been nearly three years since he and his party left Fodlan. And if they were suddenly calling for him, then that means-
(Kazuma) "What's happening there?"
(Towa's Voice) "I'm not sure. The situation seems to be a bit murky. All we know is Sitri called us for help. I've been trying to call and get everyone we can, but...It seems like we'll only have the three of us. We understand if you have your own duties to attend to in your world."
Part of him did NOT want to go back to Fodlan. It wasn't simple like this world, there wasn't any clear cut good guy or bad guy. And yet...
(Kazuma) "...I'm in."
(Towa's Voice) "R-Really?"
(Kazuma) "If our friends back home are in danger, say no more. Besides, was always hard to say no to you, Towa."
(Towa's Voice) "Heh, I'll be sure to remember that Kazuma. Just call me back when you're ready!"
(Kazuma) "Got it."
Kazuma put the crest on the table as he looked around. Aqua, Darkness, and Megumin probably wouldn't be home for another couple days.
(Kazuma) "If that whole time passing bullshit is the same like last time..."
Years in Fodlan meant minutes in his world passed. That wasn't something he could risk. He rushed to his room and put on his adventuring gear, taking his tracksuit as well.
Making sure his sword was on his belt and cape on his back was adjusted, he found a piece of paper and wrote a note before leaving.
Fodlan is in trouble. House Isekai is getting called. Get your asses in here ASAP. - Kazuma
Leaving it on the table where the crest was, Kazuma sighed deeply. When he wanted something to do, this was NOT what he envisioned getting. He was glad at least some familiar faces would be there to greet him. Kazuma had no idea if he was actually ready for the upcoming fight, but there was one thing he knew. He couldn't run away, as much as he wanted to.
Not after so many friends died protecting that world.
Unlike him, they don't get to resurrect and try again. So in the end, it was up to him, Rean, Towa, and Aigis from what he heard.
(Kazuma) "Towa? This is Kazuma. Let's send in the cavalry."

House Isekai: A Realm Reborn - Part 6, The Emperor’s Wont (1 of 3)
House Isekai ARR Masterlist Here
Tumblr media
Client: Dimitri Alexandre Blaiddyd
House Isekai has now become aware of superweapons, developed by the Adrestian Empire, that are under control by Separatist forces.
In an attempt to prevent another deployment, King Dimitri calls for Garreg Mach's aid.
Dimitri sighed as he adjusted his cape while Dedue turned the power on, the Communication Crystal beginning to transmit data.
(Dedue) "We should be connected in a moment."
(Dimitri) "My thanks."
Dedue stood beside Dimitri, both of them remaining quiet.
Finally, the crystal projected an image of Edelgard, with Hubert right next to her.
(Edelgard) "King Dimitri. To what do I-"
(Dimitri) "Spare me the pleasantries this time, Edelgard. I want you to tell me truthfully, did you create those weapons?"
Edelgard and Hubert remained stoic, a moment of silence passing between them before she responded.
(Edelgard) "...Which are you referring to?"
(Dimitri) "The super weapons you designed to wipe all of Fodlan and House Isekai out. Does that sound familiar?"
Hubert was about to say something before Edelgard raised her hand, interrupting him.
(Edelgard) "I did."
(Dimitri) "You did not even think to tell me, or Claude, about these?"
(Edelgard) "The entire point of developing these weapons was to counter us in the event of any nation going rogue. If I had thought to tell you that, it would've only rushed our militaries into an arms race, or you creating a counter."
(Dimitri) "And so what, you think not telling us anything at all is the better solution? Why on earth would you even think of creating these weapons instead of-"
(Edelgard) "House Isekai was ready to fight all of Fodlan and wreak unspeakable destruction under Byleth's flag. And WE did cause death and destruction upon everyone. Back then, we couldn't possibly hope to stop them or even each other before the death toll piled up to countless numbers!"
(Dedue) "Only because you decided to attack Garreg Mach and forced everyone's hand-"
(Hubert) "You witnessed firsthand what the Church had done to your people and Enbarr. Would you have rather stayed under Rhea's thumb like some plaything?"
Dedue and Hubert stepped in front of their leaders.
(Dedue) "We are trying to move forward and rebuild, not sow mistrust!-"
(Hubert) "And we are trying to atone for those who had to die for our actions by letting the past repeat itself!-"
(Dimitri) "Dedue, stand down."
(Edelgard) "Hubert."
Both of them bowed their heads apologetically and stepped back.
(Dimitri) "...I do not disagree with Dedue's words, as you no doubt agree with Hubert's. I agree we need a failsafe should the worst happen, but I only wish that you told us."
(Edelgard) "..."
(Dimitri) "As for House Isekai, they have shown nothing but kindness to Fodlan. Despite the troubles in their own world, they willingly came back to help us with our own. It does not do well to mistrust close friends like this."
Shaking his head, Dimitri continued.
(Dimitri) "No matter. What's done is done."
(Edelgard) "If I may ask, where did you get this information leak from?"
(Dimitri) "An anonymous source had dropped the papers into the Castle. They showed us the design blueprint for "Azure". I have no further clues than that."
(Hubert) "Only House Isekai, our top scientists, The Black Eagles, and the Separatists who stole them know about this...Though, I suppose you do too now."
(Dedue) "It would be safe to assume Claude knows about this as well if this source ensured we knew about it."
(Edelgard) "It may be an attempt to divide us-"
(Dimitri) "In which they have failed. Incidentally, this was not the only reason I had called you today. Dedue?"
Dedue nodded and adjusted the crystal's knobs, showing a facility in a snowy mountain.
(Dedue) "We believe this may be a Separatist hideout, as reported by our scouts. In particular, we thought this may interest you."
Dedue adjusted the knobs again, this time showing a static image of what appeared to be an Adrestian female scientist.
She was wearing white robes with the crest of the Empire on her shoulder, while being accompanied by several soldiers.
(Hubert) "...Doctor Valda."
(Edelgard) "She was the chief designer in charge of producing the Weapons."
(Dimitri) "Is she there of her own free will?"
(Hubert) "That is unknown. When the Separatists made away with the Weapons, several key personnel were either kidnapped or defected willingly."
(Edelgard) "If I may, I would like to send some of my own to investigate the facility."
(Dimitri) "On one condition, Edelgard. I want House Isekai to investigate this themselves. I expect their arrival at the end of this week.
(Edelgard) "...Very well."
(Dimitri) "Dedue will be here to greet them. And tell Claude before he finds out himself."
Edelgard nodded, and communication was cut off.
Dimitri turned around and exited the room, Dedue following closely behind.
The two stepped out of the castle and were greeted with a biting cold as the wind fiercely blew snow past them.
The Guards passing by stood at attention as Dimitri nodded at them, continuing down the path.
Surrounded by towering stone walls as soldiers rushed back and forth in blue armor. Some units were accompanied by Knights while others had engineers.
Dimitri glanced at the soldiers passing by and sighed with frustration.
(Dimitri) "El really chose a fantastic time to let those things loose onto Fodlan. Thank goodness we have our old friends back."
(Dedue) "Couldn't we also ask House Isekai to investigate the Demonic Beasts as well? They may have brought enough-"
(Dimitri) "I dare not get my hopes too high these days my friend, even if it is on our own allies."
Dimitri and Dedue continued out of the gates and onto the streets of Fhirdiad, where the people began muttering and cheering for him.
He smiled as he waved to his people, though with not much enthusiasm as he normally would.
(Dimitri) "Our numbers are spread thin, and theirs must be even further. Sitri has only told us only 7 have arrived while the rest are newcomers."
(Dedue) "Who were those seven?"
The two walked into an alleyway as it connected the main street to one of many residential districts, but since it was so close to the main castle it was much higher class than one would've expected.
(Dimitri) "Sitri told me Kazuma, Aigis, Rean, and Towa are currently the professors of the new class. Letters from Marianne and Hilda told me Laura, Fie, and Elliot from Class VII had also arrived."
(Dedue) "...Kazuma is a professor now?"
Dimitri finally cracked a smile as his eye softened.
(Dimitri) "That was all of our reactions too. Hah, who knew that arse could end up teaching kids."
(Dedue) "I suppose anything's possible these days."
They continued down the path and out of the residential district, eventually reaching the entrance of a magical academy.
(Dedue) "...Are you sure she wouldn't mind?-"
(Dimitri) "Oh, Annette will definitely mind us interrupting her."
Dimitri walked ahead first into the academy while Dedue quickly caught up.
(Dimitri) "But given our situation, I do not believe we are at luxury to pick as we please anymore..."
...
Garreg Mach Monastery...
Astrid's head slammed to the table letting out a sigh that could be heard throughout the entire mess hall.
(Astrid) "So tired...!"
Elizabeth parted her teacup from her lips and looked at Astrid, eyebrow raised.
(Elizabeth) "And devoid of table manners."
(Helena) "As if we didn't know that already."
Elizabeth sighed as she turned to Helena.
(Elizabeth) "And you are not better off than her!"
Stefan laughed sheepishly.
(Stefan) "To be fair, none of us really are great at being fancy at these kinds of things."
(Kairos) "Oh great, now you've done it-"
(Elizabeth) "Speak for yourself! I'll have you know my table etiquette-"
She began to discuss in detail how she was raised to have the best manners as a noble, oblivious that everyone could hear her clear as day.
Class VII walked into the Mess Hall and realized who was causing the noise.
(Altina) "...Is there any particular reason Elizabeth is speaking so loudly?"
(Kurt) "None that we'd understand, I'm afraid."
(Ash) "Eh, whatever. Let's just grab our food and get out, its way too early to be getting headaches."
Helena got off the seat and joined Class VII near the kitchen to grab more food and peace of mind.
(Helena) "Mornin'."
(Juna) "Oh, morning Helena!"
(Musse) "I see you all are having fun."
Helena's face remained still as she turned to respond.
(Helena) "All because Stefan couldn't keep his mouth closed."
(Kurt) "Perhaps we could defuse the situation?"
(Helena) "Hmph. Welcome to try, but I seriously doubt you could make her shut up when she gets like this."
(Ash) "Welp you heard the lady, let's just keep minding our own business-"
(Elizabeth) "Class VII? A moment of your time, please!"
(Ash) "-Ah shit."
(Juna) "Just HAD to say something didn't you?"
(Altina) "A headache is very probable in this situation."
(Kairos) "Knock it off would you? You're causing a scene."
(Elizabeth) "I am NOT. Astrid, Stefan, and Helena must be taught the proper etiquette when dining! If we were to meet with an important leader, we would embarass our families and House at our current state!"
Elizabeth turned back to Class VII.
(Elizabeth) "Now come, I would examine all of our dining-"
(Ash) "Nah."
(Elizabeth) "...Nah?!"
(Kurt) "You have my personal assurance that Class VII's table manners are up to par."
(Elizabeth) "Hm...Well how about the Knights of Favonius? And the soldiers, or even Duvalie?"
(Juna) "Feel like Duvalie would hit you over the head with her shield..."
Helena sat back down next to Elizabeth with a plate full of food.
(Helena) "I think we need to teach you how to be casual. You're gonna scare our classmates away if you don't be quiet."
(Elizabeth) "Wha?! Am I scaring you all away?"
(Kurt) "Er...-"
(Musse) "Scaring is not the right word. It's like you're more-"
(Ash) "-Loud."
(Juna) "Pretentious?"
(Altina) "Grating."
(Elizabeth) "...O-Oh."
Elizabeth looked down, ashamed.
(Astrid) "Hey now..."
(Helena) "Don't give those puppy eyes, just scoot over."
Everyone moved aside for Class VII to sit beside them.
(Stefan) "Hah, never a dull moment with her around. Right, Kairos?"
Kairos rolled his eyes as he rubbed his forehead.
(Kairos) "More like never a peaceful moment..."
Meanwhile, the Knights of Favonius were standing off to the side watching that exchange happen.
(Amber) "Yikes! Those kids really go for the throat, huh?"
(Lisa) "Ah, to be in an academy like this again. Brings back memories."
(Kaeya) "I think it's best we let them be, don't want to be involved with THAT too early in the morning."
(Jean) "While table etiquette is important, I'm not sure if it was worth that much of a fuss over."
(Venti) "...Does this place serve any alcohol by chance?"
(Diluc) "This is a school. Why would they have alcohol-"
(Venti) "I heard that the former House Isekai had at least 3 alcoholics. They must keep the good stuff somewhere!"
(Diluc) "..." sigh
...
Kazuma was the last to enter the Audience chamber, rubbing his eyes.
Sitri, Sothis, Towa, Mercedes, Rean, Aigis, Recette, and Tear were there waiting for him.
(Recette) "G'morning! Whew good thing I wasn't the last one here."
Tear shook her head.
(Tear) "Even in this new world it amazes me how much you can sleep..."
Shrugging, he turned to Aigis.
(Kazuma) "So what's the issue? Missing my freetime here."
(Aigis) "I wished to show some data that I had been collecting ever since we got here, as well as some information that may be relevant to House Isekai's current students."
She fiddled with the crystal platform in the middle of the room and displayed semi-transparent images of Old and New House Isekai.
Aigis then explained everything she and Valimar had talked about the night before.
When Aigis was done recounting that talk, she turned to Recette and Tear.
(Aigis) "And I have been meaning to ask you two in particular: how did you manage to get to the world where you first saw us, and how did you get to Fodlan?"
(Recette) "Um...We actually went to Fodlan before any of this happened. All we did was sell our wares for a year then went home. A portal sucked us up and plopped us right in front of Garreg Mach!"
(Tear) "It was only a few months after our departure that another portal took us to a town called Selphia. It is there where we found others who had at least met the residents of Fodlan. The colorful soldiers and that farmer you showed us had met the three houses, but not anyone from House Isekai."
(Recette) "But no one from Fodlan seemed to recognize any of us..."
Mercedes stared at Recette and Tear, squinting her eyes.
This WAS the first time they met, right?
Noting the confusion on Mercedes' face, Aigis then turned to Rean and Towa.
(Aigis) "Towa, Rean. You surely noticed how Class VII hasn't once mentioned any of us looking familiar?"
Rean nodded his head.
(Rean) "Yeah, that was bothering me too."
(Towa) "We even fought alongside them for a little bit while you were attacking the Tower, but only old Class VII seems to remember."
Sitri put her hand to her chin.
(Sitri) "Well from what I've understood watching Sothis's memories, this isn't the first time all of your memories have been interfered with..."
(Sothis) "Yeah, but we're in control of the Tower now. What could still be causing this to happen? Not to mention all the newcomers."
(Kazuma) "Man this crap is getting exhausting, whys it ALWAYS something with that god damn tower?"
(Rean) "Laura, Fie, and Elliot went to investigate it, but now I'm curious myself. We should assemble House Isekai to-"
BEEP BEEP! BEEP BEEP!
Everyone's attention turned back to the crystal platform as it had begun pulsating red.
(Sitri) "A call? Aigis, put it through."
Aigis nodded and pressed a flat crystal button, the platform now projecting a transparent image of Dimitri.
(Dimitri) "Lady Sitri-...Oh, well look who it is."
Aigis, Mercedes, and Kazuma's expressions brightened up immediately.
(Aigis) "Dimitri!"
(Kazuma) "Hey, you're no longer lookin" like a homeless crackhead!"
Sitri and Tear raised an eyebrow while Towa and Rean laughed.
Dimitri wrly smiled in response.
(Dimitri) "Eloquent as always, Kazuma."
(Mercedes) "You are aware he is our king now, right?"
(Kazuma) "Come on, when have I ever gave a...crap about that?"
(Sitri) "Um, is there any particular reason you called Garreg Mach in particular?"
Dimitri's expression darkened once again.
(Dimitri) "Yes, Lady Sitri. I know you have only just begun teaching the new House Isekai, but we need their help in Faerghus."
Everyone stiffened up when they saw how serious he had become.
(Dimitri) "Edelgard didn't tell you all of these weapons, did she?"
(Mercedes) "Did you know about this?"
(Dimitri) "Not until 2 hours ago, Mercedes..."
(Towa) "I-Is there a weapon headed for you guys too?"
(Dimitri) "Thankfully, not at the moment. But we are going to stop it before it even has a chance. I will tell you what I reported to Edelgard."
A few moments passed as Dimitri explained the situation over at Fhirdiad regarding the Separatist base.
(Kazuma) "Hm, those soldier guys would probably be really good for something like that."
(Dimitri) "Actually, I had something else in mind. I wanted Sitri's students to be the one infiltrating the base."
(Sitri) "What?!"
(Rean) "No. We have to be the ones to-"
(Dimitri) "Hear me out for a moment, Rean. The Separatists have weapons specifically designed to counter all of us. Our crests, your technology and spells, but the one thing they aren't ready for is the new generation of Garreg Mach students."
(Aigis) "...I...do see where he's coming from. It is highly likely that Duvalie would be unable to harm the Weapons while the ODST's and Raelyn's ammunition would fail to pierce the armor."
(Recette) "Um, what about those Knight people?"
(Tear) "They are wild cards..."
(Towa) "I think if we sent too many they'd be easily caught."
(Kazuma) "Now listen, I know we were basically kids fighting in a war last time we were here, but you really want THEM to be infiltrating a military base?!"
(Dimitri) "I do. However they would not be completely by themselves. They would have Sitri as well."
(Sitri) "I-I...I understand."
(Dimitri) "As for you all, I have gotten several disturbing reports of what may be offworld activity happening in our territories. I was hoping your own could investigate it."
(Sitri) "...Very well. We will go forth with this plan."
(Dimitri) "Thank you. I know it's not easy. We will speak again soon. Recette, Tear. It's time those payments got to work."
(Recette) "Yup! We'll get the private train coming up right away!"
Recette and Tear quickly left the room, leaving the staff of House Isekai looking uneasy.
(Towa) "I have a bad feeling about this..."
All looking at each other, they went out of the Audience chamber to find the students.
