Man something about today felt so final. I hope it’s not, but it feels like the natural conclusion to the story.
This is gonna be a long thank you to the ccs, the fandom, and most importantly, the admins
I was here from day 1. I watched the walls at spawn come down due to a shared hive-mind disobedience moment, and thought, “dude, this seems like it’s going to be special”
I watched as Spanish and English speakers struggled to communicate, but still found comedy in their shared moments.
I watched the Brazilians and the French join, dying of laughter as the events turned into pure chaos and sound.
I watched the ccs form friendships and meet up with each other, I heard them speak about the impact and importance of qsmp to them specifically.
I watched as members of the community formed friendships, as we shared cultures and exchanged some of the most beautiful artwork and fanfics I’ve ever had the pleasure of seeing. I made this account because my main got so qsmp-centric that I needed a space to go full-autism and just talk into the void about my cubitos.
My first day of having this account, I mentioned a fic idea I had. So many people replied, encouraging me to write and engage with the community. When I posted it two hours later on pure adrenaline, the same people praised it, reblogged it—it’s a memory I’ll probably never forget because it made me feel so welcomed into qsmpblr.
Lastly, I remember first meeting the egg admins. I remember how hyperfixated the ccs became on keeping them alive, how attached we all became to them. For me, the egg admins proved that this wasn’t just a silly minecraft server, but a team of workers dedicated to the storyline and lore of the QSMP.
The QSMP, to me, felt less like a Minecraft server, and more like a story being told with the help of Minecraft. That team behind it was invaluable to its success, and built their characters in ways that were so convincingly authentic that they sealed QSMPs place, for me, as a story being told.
The QSMP would not be what it was today without the ccs, the fandom, and most importantly, the admins. So thank you to everyone for doing your part in making this community what it is—pretty fuckin special <3

Moon's Big and the Let's Play as a Roleplay Medium (sorry in advance for this way-too-long post)
okay hermitcraft s8 is still on my brain so can I just say. there's just something that's so interesting about the let's play format as a roleplay medium. and the hermits really got it down to a science and deconstructed it in s8 to make one of the most entertaining mc series I've ever watched.
so here are some of said thoughts compiled in a list of no particular order, because my brain can not formulate a sensible meta yet.
1. the minecraft let's play has basically been around as long as minecraft has been. we know how they work. the youtuber starts out with the same greeting they always use, they lay out some goals, they work on said goals, and then they sign off, all in about twenty or so minutes (give or take). if the cc is on a server, there might be some shenanigans and banter, including whole episodes dedicated to some funny roleplay plot, because playing minecraft with friends is fun and leads to great content; but usually they will still have individual projects which they work on.
2. we knew s8 was breaking the mold when they started and a lot of groups of hermits revealed that they were basing together instead of making individual megabases. throughout the season we've been talking about how hc s8 has been more collaborative than any season that's come before it, that it's incorporating more lore at one time than ever. the cc's have also talked about how they've been breaking out of their comfort zones a bunch.
3. however, the hermits never changed their format through all of this. they still made lets plays—more highly polished and edited lets plays than the lets plays of before, maybe, but that quality increase has been happening for a while now. the let's play format provides an anchor, a throughline from past seasons. it keeps the season grounded in familiar territory, even when weird supernatural stuff started happening.
4. the let's play is a style of content that was never built with a 4th wall in mind. I mean, the cc is basically talking directly to the viewer most of the time. this means that suspending disbelief is way more difficult for the viewers of a let's play than the viewers of a play, movie, or even standard rp. there are already video essays out there talking about how the youtube video as a format is predicated on the youtuber building parasocial relationships by directly talking to an audience. long story short, you aren't supposed to suspend your disbelief when you watch a let's play. the authenticity of the person playing the video game is ingrained in the format itself, to the point where it's expected.
5. of course, this has never stopped let's play series from having lore; but it's usually played more for comedy than in a standard roleplay because, again, the viewer expects they're watching a real live person playing a video game, not a character's journey in said video game. lighthearted lore can give more imaginative viewers something to latch onto while reassuring them that the cc's behind it are still themselves (or the selves they project on screen for the internet). in the viewer-youtuber conversation, lighthearted lore is like an inside joke for fans of a let's play.
(by the way, I'm talking mostly about vanilla survival let's plays right now. I know there was some serious roleplay under the let's play format back in the day, but most of them were with more modded gameplay. I'm sure there are exceptions, but I'm talking very generally.)
6. so having done all that rambling about the let's play as a content format, let's return to hermitcraft s8. things start out pretty much as expected. hermits basing next to each other means that the number of shenanigans have been turned up to eleven, but they're still relatively lighthearted, all things considered. other than some plots that are played completely straight from the start (like the hermatrix), we're looking forward to a season that, besides an increase in jokes and collabs and a decrease in the number of megabase projects, seems about right for the hermits.
7. the season continues and the shenanigans just keep escalating. I'll use boatem as an example because it provides an easy one, although I know all the other hermits can also provide excellent examples. things that start out as one-liners ("potato boy") become plot relevant (shapeshifter mumbo). storylines start small ("boatem inc") and then get weirder and weirder (I will never get over the boatem company cars and mumbo's replacement). it's a slow evolution, but there's definitely an evolution. watch an early hc s8 episode and then a later one right next to each other, and you'll see what I mean.
9. and I think that one of the things that obscures the tone shift is the let's play format. even when the moon got big and blocks started floating and earthquakes started happening, the let's play format still tricked my brain into thinking things were normal. (because it's a let's play, right? cc!Scar just built a Star Wars inspired wagon for his sand and gravel shop in Super-Fast-Build-Mode, like in any other Scar let's play! Yeah the blocks are moving and the ground is shaking, but there's always some weird background lore happening these days. Just the Hermitcraft server doing a little cosmic horror like it does every season, right? :D)
(hey, maybe that was just me. but judging from the amount of posts that didn't believe Moon Big would actually end the server, I don't think I'm alone.)
10. well, things didn't just go back to normal. the moon kept getting bigger, the earthquakes more violent. the blocks stop coming down. every weird and wacky solution the hermits employ fails, and instead of it just being a funny "lol funny shenanigans am i right" the tension on the server builds. but the hermits have been taking all the bits pretty far this season. what's to say this isn't one of them— oh no.
I'm going to highlight grian and bdubs' final s8 episodes as videos that employ the let's play format to the fullest as roleplays.
11. grian spends his last episode frantically trying to put the finishing touches on his base. he does timelapses. he talks to the viewers about how happy he is with the base's completion (without ever cutting to the back lmao). trying to finish procrastinated areas of a base last-minute before the hc season ends is a very grian thing to do. and if you cobble nothing but the building segments together, you can almost trick yourself into thinking that it's just another hermitcraft let's play episode. I mean, it follows the established format pretty well: grian greets the viewers, lays out his goal to finish his shop interiors, shows himself working on said interiors, then steps back to show the viewers what he's completed. plus there funny shenanigans on top, as a sweet bonus!
but well. there's the huge moon in the background of it all, providing a sense of urgency to grian's project and disrupting him whenever he tries to go about it normally. there are already a ton of better posts talking about how tragic grian's final hc s8 episode is, but basically what I'm saying is that it wouldn't work so well if it wasn't a let's play. it weaponizes the familiarity of the let's play format to blur the lines between cc and character. the impending physical threat of the moon in the background make it so that things that would normally get read as cc!grian going about doing his normal let's play things are instead read as the final, desperate actions of his character trapped in a dying world.
like, take the cut where he walks around midnight alley and talks about how proud he is of his hc s8 base. that's a normal let's play thing to do for grian. but with the huge moon in the background, it also feels like a hopeless man reminiscing on his progress right before he has to leave it. it reads both ways. it's a let's play convention turned emotional, with nothing about it fundamentally changing.
12. bdubs makes a very different last episode from grian, but he still uses the let's play format to the fullest. first of all, it kind of falls into the category of "world tour" let's play episodes, which are also an established staple of the genre. of course, it's no ordinary world tour—there's a giant moon in the background of it all, and bdubs is acting disconcertedly cheerful in the face of the impending crash.
but that's the thing—let's plays are cheerful! again, it's kind of supposed to feel like they're just talking to you directly (something something everyone projects a certain version of themselves on social media, idk, I'm not a professional psychologist please don't sue me if I get things wrong).
and yet, it feels wrong here. everyone else is panicking about the moon crash, and here's bdubs checking his profits, talking happily to his pets and the viewers, even making a sponsorship cut. through the hints he drops in his episode, it feels like character bdubs is putting the let's play as a facade for the viewers (I mean, see his message to Tango—he is clearly aware of what's going on). It transforms the let's play in itself into a roleplay from within the hermitcraft planet, played by a doomed man trying to stay cheerful as his world ends. whereas grian's use of let's play convention blurs the line between cc and character, bdubs' use of let's play convention makes the character the cc.
13. yeah, it's meta. and you can argue that the hermits have always been doing this—I mean, there's been distinction between the hermits as characters and the hermits as cc's for a while now—but imo hc s8 (as well as 3rd/last life, empires, etc.) has solidified the minecraft let's play as a roleplay medium from a nebulous possibility into a modern mcyt staple. if there was early mcyt that was doing this, i'm sorry for missing this, but as someone who has watched back into older hc seasons and has also watched mcyt since 2013, this is what I've observed.
14. anyways, it's cool as fuck. also moon big.
(edit: made some small wording edits.)

Be respectful - You can have as much fun as you want, but when it becomes too annoying; be respectful. Know when to stop!
Be ethical - If you're reading this you know what it means!

Why did you make a server again?
Well, let me tell you. For too long, I feel like servers have stayed to the easy formula. Sure, it works; but what makes it different than the last? Our story begins in 2015, before this server was even created. My childhood favorite server was shut down unexpectedly. Something I'm sure we've all experienced before, the heartbreak of something you really enjoyed disappearing off the face of the internet. Well, since that day? I've been planning! We've only been public for about 11 days now, but we're growing at a good pace. So, you're probably wondering what we offer? Why not take a peek below!
x
So... What's the deal? Below are features that we offer!
Survival - Regular, and just the way it was when you built your first dirt home all those years ago!
Minimal Plugins - To be honest, we're tired of lazy servers. Run by the same plugins, same things to do, same everything. We're bringing it back to the roots. This server offers everything a heavily modified server offers, but we do it with class. No plugin, all people, all effort. This offers player versatility, and the chance to do quite literally anything they want.
Quests - What we call dynamic quests. These are handmade stories, which prove to be very difficult. No B.S here, a quest is server wide and can only be done ONCE. When a quest is completed, said player(s) who completed it push the entire servers story forward. Unlock new features, go down in server history forever, and of course... get rewarded!
Lore - This server also features a very deep story, one that can't be looked up. Remember the days when you played Runescape and didn't know how anything worked? Remember how there was no website that had all the answers? That's what you'll find here. Clues are scattered across the world; and YOU can be the one to uncover them. All of what we know, is uncovered by players. Find a dungeon? Delve it, to learn something brand new; and teach others what you find.
Dungeons - Handmade super-powered dungeons are the end game. Only for the hardcore players. These dungeons feature limited inventory, a cash reward, exclusive dungeon gear, high difficulty... the works.
Organic Ruins - Players can report other player made structures they believe are vacant or unused. Said structures will then begin to rot, rotting structures become overgrown, and break down overtime! The items left over become scattered, for the next player to find! Reporting a building grants a cash reward.
Player Run Towns - All towns in this server are run by players, and built in survival. Towns which become big enough are able to become an official town! These towns choose between two separate factions, either becoming an industrious town, or a religious town. These towns become part of the server story/lore!
Economy - This server features a credit system which is used for a variety of things. You can trade credits with players for gear, items... anything they offer! Credits can be spent on entering dungeons, or used on Quests; and biggest of all... Credits ARE your grief protection. Should your property be destroyed, you incur a credit amount which has to be payed in order to have it instantly repaired. If you can't afford the repair cost, you can get a bill. Which allows you infinite time to gain the credits needed. Players do not need to use economy, if they prefer hand fixing everything that is always an option. There are no chest shops, players are encouraged to trade goods between themselves and form authentic bonds. Not ones with a chest.
Ranks - We offer a ranking system that rewards players who, well... PLAY! Each rank is used as a show for status and achievement. Nothing more! Players who continue to achieve greatness are rewarded with special prefixes and suffixes. An example... if a player named Bill Nye completed many quests in their day. They can get a suffix to make their new name Bill Nye the hero, or a prefix like [Hero] Bill Nye
Seamless World Updating - Let's be honest, server wipes suck, and are extremely lazy. We offer the opposite. If you spend a ton of time building, you can sleep easy knowing we announce on Discord and Instagram when the world is being upgraded. Then you have until the NEXT update to request a home/village/whatever being moved. Here's an example, if you build a ton of stuff in Minecraft 1.13; and 1.14 rolls out. The 1.13 world is kept as a secret warp for admins, if you request your house to be moved, we will go to the coordinates, check that it's yours, and copy it into the new world so you never lose your progress! The 1.13 world would be kept until 1.15 comes out, then it is moved offline and the 1.14 world becomes the back up for players to request homes from.
Events - As the server grows, we'll begin offering competitions by the week! These can range from gaining a certain amount of materials in a week, to building competitions! The player who wins is rewarded, and has their creation added to spawn!
Curated - This server has very lenient rules, because we feel the most fun is had when everyone is in a relaxing situation. However this server IS curated by staff.
Unlimited Building - We don't like pesky world borders. You want to know what we're set at? 30 million by 30 million. Have fun!
x
Current world size is 25.8GB!

What's Up With Reflected
Recently, there’s been very little releases on Reflected Network, and I think there will continue to be few for the coming months. Here’s why.
Minecraft and Scaling
Since day one of CaveCraft (wow, that long ago), I’ve struggled with scaling Minecraft servers. There are several ways to work around this, BungeeCord, what used to be Purgatory, which under Reflected Network was renamed to ServerDiscovery. I’m not going to go into technical detail on how they work — but essentially they allow several separate Minecraft servers to connect together.
The main issue is that Minecraft itself is not meant to scale. Not from a technical perspective, but from a business perspective. Minecraft is at this point Microsoft’s cash cow, designed only to feed them a constant stream of kid’s parent’s money. It is not designed to promote Minecraft servers, Minecraft servers are designed to promote it. Building an independent, recognizable brand identity on top of Minecraft is almost impossible.
This has been exaggerated by the fact that to produce the October 24th event, I would have had to complete not only an integration with the overcomplicated Microsoft Account authentication network, but I’d also have to connect Bedrock and Java servers in a stable manner. While both of those tasks are very much possible, Microsoft themselves claim that they are not designed to be available to end users for modding and fiddling with.
The point I’m trying to get at is that I’m working against Microsoft here, and that’s hard.
What Does this Mean for You
I have one or two other ventures, which I think some of you may have caught on to since they’re mentioned and integrated with several Reflected Network underlying services. Regardless, they are something that I can easily just un-plug Reflected Network (figuratively) and move all of my development efforts there. However, none of them have the robust codebase and are fully launched.
So, I have decided that Reflected Network will stay up until Christmas 2021, with minimal maintenance and updates. This doesn’t mean Reflected Network is over, it just means that it will be ramping down for the time being until and if I can gather the resources and time to resume all of the projects I’ve been working on for the October event.
So basically, Reflected isn’t going anywhere. Not deleted, not updated, any time soon.
Sorry.

Placing A Dirtblock Modifies Your World/Sport Aswell
No matter how they wish to expertise Minecraft, all of those players will benefit from The Camping Mod, a plugin that provides various nice objects constructed round the thought of bedding down out within the wilderness. If you've got already killed the Ender Dragon, then you possibly can spice it up by challenging yourself to killing it within quite a lot of days or even racing your mates to the first Ender Dragon kill on a server. At it's coronary heart both the video games are 2D sandbox video games that generate a procedural worlds for you discover both alone and with friends. Maps in Minecraft are primarily the same mini-video games, all the maps that we saw principally carry one thing more than only a showcase of some items. It’s straightforward to say that you may construct something in Minecraft, and oh so true, however some folks need a more particular checklist to go by for some good concepts. Made for single players, players might want to discover each of the seven biomes for a hidden chest.
Your downloaded map will more than likely be in a .ZIP or .RAR form. The person released the map in 2015 and made it to be a quick puzzle adventure title that won’t hold you up too long. 30 Ways To Die is a puzzle based mostly map. Vertoak City is an enormous metropolis themed creation/journey map for minecraft. PayDay 2: Endgame is likely one of the Minecraft maps which act out as an journey sort recreation. With payday 2: Endgame from creator XANDER369, players will discover up to three hours of gameplay that will probably be unfold throughout seven playable heists. There are also two ruins positioned near town, exploring them will reveal their secrets. Unlike https://www.planetminecraft.com/ , there aren't any targets or rules in Vertoak City, you can explore and do something you need. This is created underneath FISH95 which delivers an enormous city with no objectives and guidelines. Overall, the principles are simple similar to enjoying on peaceful difficulty together with not breaking or putting any blocks.
youtube
After playing the Kidsource Easy Skyblock Challenge map a number of times, I can say it is one of the best Minecraft maps I've performed in a while. The blocky battle royale manages to take the perfect points of survival, exploration and hacking each other up with swords. Then check out CDFDMAN’s Exponential Experiences: CDF AIR. If you would like extra information about this map, or wish to contact the creator, then please visit the map's official webpage, located right here: SkyBlock. An ancient City of Halory is presented on this Minecraft seed for all those who prefer to explore the medieval instances. As you will have guessed, Assassin’s Creep is a parkour Minecraft map. At zoom stage 0, a map created on the point (0,0) has (0,0) at the center of the map. After spawn you get into a lobby degree choice. Important: If you happen to die earlier than sleeping in a bed, it may be impossible to spawn back on the island.
Tumblr media
It provides a complete set of recent blocks with out which this venture could be inconceivable to build. Most blocks can't be destroyed with out the proper instruments. Conversely, most resources can only be acquired using completely different instruments such because the crafting table or the furnace. With this map, gamers are pressured into creating resources utilizing little or no objects from the beginning. There are numerous elements that go into creating the proper recreation, many builders have come shut but just as many have missed the mark utterly. Have an image: If you are attempting to construct something complex, moderately than attempting to do it straight out of your mind, find an image online, print it out and keep it next to you as a guide. All of the homes in this modern city are distinctive and also you won’t discover two copies of the same building - they're all authentic. The map consists of pyramids and temples with lots of related homes scattered everywhere in the valley.
All homes look tremendous cool and have to be viewed with a special texture mod - Mikey's Modern pack. Inside the chest can be resources needed to progress along with obsidian blocks, however you’ll must watch out as you advance. Each biome will probably be extra difficult than the last and when you complete all seven biomes then you’ll be able to head into the nether. Some have described it as being nothing greater than a faction wars kind mod, basically like Clear Sky, however on a a lot larger scale and constructed within the CoP engine. Try this list of video games like Terraria that is full of enjoyable procedurally generated 2D worlds to discover. Maps for Minecraft discovered this map insanely enjoyable and rage-enducing, however who would not love a bit of anger? That's why I believe Epic Jump Map 7 Mario Edition deserves a spot in the top Ten Minecraft Maps. I believe it is Martin's first map, nevertheless it was hilarious.

Down and out in Orgrimmar and London • Eurogamer.net
Spend any amount of time on any popular gaming message board when the issue of LGBT+ representation raises its head, and you can guarantee there’ll be someone waiting in the wings to, at the very least, remind LGBT+ players that it’s 2020 and ‘nobody cares they’re gay anymore’ – oh, and ‘Would you mind keeping your sexuality out of my video games?’. It’s not exactly surprising then that countless LGBT+ gamers around the world are still seeking the comfort of like-minded individuals and social spaces, both in-game and in real-life, where they’re free to be themselves without abuse, judgement, or fear of repercussions – and to simply enjoy the games they want to play.
“I think in mainstream culture there is this wishful idea that because we’ve had too many seasons of Will & Grace…things are just fine and dandy for the queers in our society,” Benjamin Bon Temps, founder of the long-running Rough Trade Gaming Community tells me, “Sadly, nothing could be further from the truth. While things are better, and the average Bubba Beercan Gamer might be more open-minded and respectful, there is still the same slew of tired asshats firing off verbal fag bombs and ‘this stupid dungeon is gay’ type bullshit.”
It’s a sentiment shared by Matthew Hardwick, co-founder of the on- and offline LGBT+ community London Gaymers; “Online spaces can be generally quite a negative experience for minorities as it is,” he says, “but with insults like ‘fag’, ‘queer’, and ‘gay’ often thrown around in a derogatory manner, it can be particularly hard for LGBT people.” By way of illustration, Hardwick relates one of his own experiences, when someone he’d played online with for over a year immediately bombarded him with abuse on finding out he was gay in party chat. “[He] said I should ‘die of AIDS’ and ‘ass cancer’ before threatening to come to my home to murder me.”
Although Hardwick admits this is one of the more extreme responses he’s encountered, the constant minefield of anti-LGBT+ vitriol can be exhausting for players – and he points to an academic study by Jason Rockwood, backed up by London Gaymers’ own research during MCM panels, which found 80% of people have heard anti-LGBT+ slurs online. When I ask Hardwick to describe these encounters in his own words, he simply responds, “Dehumanising”.
It’s for precisely these reasons that countless LGBT+ gaming communities have been established around the world in an effort to provide a safe, welcoming space for LGBT+ players and allies, and remain as popular as ever. The London Gaymers, for instance, started life as a Reddit community and Google group back in 2012, with the goal of providing a means for LGBT+ players to easily find others to enjoy video games with. “What online spaces existed already were toxic, and not very welcoming to any minority that was open about their identity,” explains Hardwick.
And if proof were needed as to how much demand there still is for welcoming social spaces for LGBT+ players, the London Gaymers has, from its humble beginnings, now grown to over 3,750 people on its Facebook Group and over 1,800 regularly visit its Discord channel. Additionally, it has active guilds and clans hosting regular gaming nights for the likes of Minecraft, Final Fantasy 14, and Sea of Thieves; it has one of the largest LGBT+ WoW guilds in Europe; there’s a dedicated space available for women, including non-LGBT+ players, looking for somewhere to play, and for other women gamers to talk to. And London Gaymers even has a pretty large Animal Crossing Turnip Exchange community too.
“Many LGBT people face an increased risk of Mental Health issues,” explains Hardwick, “Isolation, anxiety, and depression are all issues many LGBT people face. Having a group that can knock down some of the barriers to battling those by providing a friendship group and space to express yourself is important”.
Some of London Gaymers members attending real-world Pride.
Inevitably too, these online communities have gradually spilled out into the real-world, and London Gaymers now hosts LGBT+ nights focussed on everything from board games and ping pong to bowling and laser tag. Crucially, these activities help provide real-world connections and spaces some may struggle to find ordinarily. “They may be feeling isolated or nervous, and not be willing to attend gay bars without people they know they can talk to about things they are interested in,” says Hardwick, “or they may be nervous about their appearance or perception in a traditional gaming space. The group provides that intersection for LGBT people to be themselves in both their nerdy-ness and their queerness.”
These days, thanks to London Gaymers’ size and scope, the group is able to use its influence and community to assist other gaming and LGBT+ organisations. It’s hosted panels on games industry representation at MCM, given talks to studios and government departments, and it regularly embarks on fundraising efforts with its members, for charities including the likes of SpecialEffect, the Terrance Higgins Trust, LGBT Hero/GMFA, and the Albert Kennedy Trust.
In real terms though, the London Gaymers reaches but a small fraction of LGBT+ players online and around the world, and thousands of other LGBT+ gaming communities continue to thrive, each catering to different audiences and niches. One of the oldest and most established of these is the MMO-focussed Rough Trade Gaming Community, described by its founder Benjamin Bon Temps as a “counterpoint to and escape from the general immature, homophobic bro culture that still permeates gaming spaces” and, more importantly, a “fun, safe, relaxing space where people can bring their authentic selves and play together” .
“Any queer can tell you that being seen and accepted feels awesome,” he says, “and we do what we can to help make that happen for our members.”
Real-world events are an important part of London Gaymers activities.
The RTGC had its unofficial beginnings over 17 years ago, when Benjamin joined a Dark Age of Camelot guild “comprised of mostly gay dudes and a few ‘mo-friendly military guys”. The group was eager to move over to superhero MMO City of Heroes but, says Benjamin, “I knew from somewhat bitter experience in DAoC that the gaming community at the time was absolutely rancid with frequent expressions of homophobic slang. Furthermore, there was, and still is, a ‘don’t tell, don’t share’ attitude from players claiming to be tolerant and accepting, yet [who] lose their collective minds if a queer character options or storyline is introduced in their favourite game, or if you reveal the gender of your partner in guild chat.”
“Much of the social aspect in gaming happens during the downtime,” he points out, “waiting on other players, recouping between battles, repairing armour etc., and that’s when chatting about our lives happens. I’ve heard countless stories from other members of RTGC about how they’d have to lie about the gender of their partner and other details so as not to instigate the possibility of harsh comments from other intolerant players.”
While some groups prefer to offer a somewhat sanitised space for their members, Benjamin notes the RTGC is relatively unique in that it has never shied from the subject of sex. “There always seems to be a secondary censoring of queer lives and stories by the mainstream,” he explains, “something along the lines of ‘Okay, you are gay and you can talk about it a little, but nothing about your sexual acts, preferences or fetishes please’…but I’ve always been at least mildly interested in what excites people, whether it be geekery or in the sack or sling.”
And so, from that goal of building a community that didn’t just enjoy games, but celebrated all kinds of sexual expression, the Rough Trade Gaming Community was created as an “unapologetically queer [place to] celebrate geekdom and fetish life.” Benjamin admits the group “might not be everyone’s cup of tea” thanks to its openness to fetish and kink, but says he believes it’s a “good fit for the queer person who may feel too queer, too kinky, too hardcore in mainstream gay social spaces.” What’s more, it happily welcomes “heterosexual-identified players who, because of their own kink, political views, spiritual practices, or whatever else, don’t feel comfortable in standard gaming social spaces” too.
RTGC’s Taint guilds continue to have a significant presence in WoW.
“We’re also a great testing ground for those of us emerging, or considering emerging, from the closet,” says Benjamin, “We are a very welcoming bunch for the most part and online experimentation in a gaming environment can be a fun and safe way to experiment with self-expression.”
It’s a social mix that’s clearly working; the group now organises real-life meets around the likes of San Francisco and New Orleans, and Benjamin is proud to have helped build a community that can cater to both younger gamers and “an older and more mature player”.
These days the RTGC has over 9,000 active users online, split across six officially supported games (World of Warcraft, World of Warcraft Classic, Final Fantasy 14, Guild Wars 2, Elder Scrolls Online, and Phantasy Star Online 2), alongside a variety of forums and social media sites including Facebook. “Our Xtube channel has close to 2 million views,” notes Benjamin, “but honestly most of those are probably from me.”
One of the RTGC’s most high-profile activities comes in the form of Pixel Pride, an annual virtual Pride event that started out back in the group’s City of Heroes days and is now celebrating its 16th year. “We wanted to show how many players in the game were queer,” says Benjamin of that initial event, “so every queer superhero in the game wore the colour red and we flew, leapt, and teleported to a central meeting place, and had a great time.”
These days Pixel Pride takes place every July on World of Warcraft’s Proudmoore server that many of the group’s guilds calls home, and this year’s pride celebrations – which occurred last weekend – passed in a flurry of ‘donations, support, dancing, laughing, flirting, and duelling in their skivvies’.

“Pixel Pride,” explains Benjamin, “is important because of the ease of accessibility for folks who can’t and don’t want to find parking at real world Prides, for folks who for whatever reasons can’t be fully out in the real world, and to also remind the non-queers on our servers that we are here, and we are legion, and that the toon tanking in your party, or healing your ass in a dungeon, or peeling aggro off you in PvP might be one of us, so watch your fucking language.”
Benjamin also believes Pixel Pride is valuable for those group members in rural areas too. “We know that queers can tend to flock to big cities to find their tribe, but we also have tons of players who live in remote areas as well”, he says. “I’ve heard from folks like that who are grateful for our Pixel Pride celebrations because, due to distance, or being in the closet, or mobility challenges, that is the only Pride they can safely or reasonably attend. This has, of course, become even more important during the current pandemic.”
Yet despite the obvious demand for the kind of LGBT+ communities and spaces fostered by the likes of London Gaymers and the RTGC, resistance still remains in the wider gaming community to the idea that visibility for LGBT+ players is even necessary, usually, and tellingly, alongside the declaration that ‘politics doesn’t belong in video games’.
“In much the same way a fish can’t really tell you what ‘wet’ feels like, because it is all they’ve ever known, straight folk can be blind, and sometimes stubbornly and wilfully so, to how inextricably enmeshed expressions of affection, sexuality, longing, romance etc. are in our everyday lives,” says Benjamin. “It permeates everything we experience, games included. Every game I’ve played has some element of a love interest storyline, an unrequited romance, etc. It is just fair play that some of those reflect our lives as well.”
A note from an RTGC member attesting to the importance of Pixel Pride.
The good news, though, according to London Gaymers’ Matt Hardwick, is that attitudes do slowly seem to be shifting. “Anecdotally, I would say things have improved over the years, certainly within some areas of online gaming,” he tells me, “[but] there is still a long way to go.”
“I think that developers play a big part in this. Weeding out toxic behaviour is something that a few studios say they are dedicated to but is seldom reflected in their feedback loops or reporting processes,” Hardwick continues. “Gamers at large can help by calling out the behaviour when they see or hear it. Remind them that whilst they may think it’s trash talk they have no idea how their words affect those around them. I do however appreciate this is often easier said than done and that’s why spaces like London Gaymers exists – nobody wants to paint a target on their back – but using reporting processes is always one small step that doesn’t require you to interact with trolls.”
Yet while a harmonious gaming future will ultimately benefit everyone, and is a goal worth aiming for, Benjamin doesn’t think it will spell an end to LGBT+ gaming spaces.
“It can obviously be challenging to be your true queer self, in the ‘real’ world and in-game, and a lot of old, tired attitudes and beliefs can get in the way and make that difficult to attain,” he says. “Once we have though, one of the great blessings about being queer, for me anyway, is the ability to be a little left of centre, to be slightly outside what is considered ‘normal’ or ‘average’. I think that is intensely valuable, both for queers and for the heteronormative, relative ‘centre’, to have that perspective and space for folks who don’t feel they fit in with whatever the fuck ‘normal’ is.
“For that reason, I think and hope we’ll always occupy that space, to question and challenge expected norms, ‘common wisdom’ and convention. To not have that, to have everything and everyone in one homogeneous space, would dilute the colourful and diverse part of the human experience and that would just be boring as fuck…Things could be, and certainly might be, better than they are today, but whether that happens or not, the Rough Trade Gaming Community will be here as a space for anyone fun, friendly, and ready to play.”

Rebuilding the World is Way More Fun With Friends in Dragon Quest Builders 2
When I told a friend that Dragon Quest Builders 2 was one of the games I was most looking forward to this summer, he asked me if I was a Minecraft fan or a Dragon Quest fan. Surprisingly, I answered neither. I played Minecraft back in its early beta days and enjoyed the freedom, but the lack of formal structure left me wanting more to do. I decided to leave the game to those who would happily reconstruct the Great Pyramid of their own volition. Dragon Quest had the opposite problem. Having missed the earlier titles, I never developed the fond nostalgia for what seemed to be fairly rigid, if charismatic, JRPG dungeon crawlers. But when freedom of Minecraft is combined with the structure and goals of a Dragon Quest? There's an incentive structure I can get behind!
What Dragon Quest Builders really reminds me of is the long vanished "restore the world" JRPG genre that Enix specialized in with titles like ActRaiser, Soul Blazer, and TerraNigma. In these games, you usually played an emissary of God tasked with restoring life to a blasted wasteland filled with demons. Nothing quite matches the power trip of turning a poisoned wasteland into fertile fields and building a thriving community where death once reigned. Dark Cloud and Dark Cloud 2 were the last of the genre, which seemed all but dead until Dragon Quest Builders came to revive it in 2016.
Where the first Builders based itself off of the first Dragon Quest, with its setting of Alefgard and great enemy the Dragonlord, Builders 2 references the second Dragon Quest. Here the foes are the evil cult the Children of Hargon, who despise builders and forbid anyone from improving their lot in life. Also making an appearance from the classic title is NPC Malroth, who assists the main character in their journey. As with the first game, at no point does knowing the Dragon Quest lore become necessary to enjoy the adventure. Fans however will have plenty of in-jokes to appreciate and some foreshadowing of the direction the story will take.
Development duties for Dragon Quest Builders 2 was handed off to Omega Force of Dynasty Warriors fame, and quite fitting, as as the game progresses a ton of characters and action is happening onscreen. The name of the game for Builders 2 seems to be teamwork. Builders was often a solitary affair, with the hero traveling from stage to stage in a  linear fashion, sometimes making allies they would leave behind to continue in their quest. Builders 2 takes a page from the open world playbook, with a hub world called the Isle of Awakening and three other major islands from which to recruit villagers and building materials. The first Builders had some artifice in its world construction, as portals warped you to stages within stages. It felt very much like a game, but there was always something interesting to do. Builders 2 makes the tradeoff to make the world feel more authentically real, but with most open world games, there's an awful lot of space between points of interest. A lot will come down to player preference.
Like, for instance, the first game you're given a giant hammer for brute work and gloves for finer work. With the hammer, you can bash up rocks, items, and trees into raw materials. Gloves allow you to pick up and put down individual blocks. Material blocks when set down build walls, and when you enclose a space with a wall two blocks high and a door, you create a room. With crafting stations you can create furniture and accessories, creating specific rooms to your villagers' or your own personal preferences. When you start out on an island, most resource collection, crafting, and building from blueprints is a solo effort. A lot has been streamlined and improved this time around, with blocks and items specially marked if they're needed for a quest, to prevent having to check the quest requirements for a specific building over and over again. Additionally, you're given more inventory storage space early on, meaning you're never at the mercy of having to build chests like the first game. As you complete quests, you get hearts of happiness from the villagers which allow you to level up the town itself. As the level increases, villagers will gather resources, cook, maintain the village, and take care of a lot of the tedious busywork. I never had to go on fetch quests for specific ingredients or rebuild the village after an enemy attack after I had showed the villagers how to do it themselves.
You can also sail to smaller Fortune Islands where you play a scavenger hunt for plants, materials, and animals for a great reward: Infinite resources of a specific type. Early on I traveled to one of these randomly generated islands for a story quest, but stuck around and searched the island thoroughly for the reward of infinite wood. For the rest of the game, I never had to put my construction plans on hold to go chop down yet another tree. Having all of the minor busywork automated away once it no longer presented an interesting or novel challenge was a wonderful upgrade and made the process of creating these towns much more rewarding.
One problem that does emerge from this is that near the end of a island's story quest, there is usually an incredibly elaborate building that is constructed with all of the villagers' help. Supermassive, with three floors and over 500 blocks per floor, these projects are not ones you'd want to complete on your own. While you often have missions of your own to complete while the villagers work, you can end up having to wait for the villagers to complete their task. Still, it's a minor nuisance, especially compared to a similar issue with combat.
Combat has never been Dragon Quest Builders' big draw. The boss battles are fun, but routine combat involves one or two kinds of attacks at best, running away to dodge, and smart use of healing items. In the first Builders, you were often the strongest member of your party due to your ability to craft weapons and armor, and a few NPCs lent a helping hand. Here, you are second best. Your game companion, Malroth, blessed with the powers of destruction, is a much stronger fighter than you. While you, being a creative builder, have a powerful ally of destruction is fun for the story, it doesn't add much to the gameplay. When it works out, it can be convenient to have Malroth take care of persistent mobs for you, or to deliver finishing blows to weakened enemies. When it goes badly, and you have no healing items, you can run around waiting for Malroth to defeat your enemies. Fixes to this would have been reducing the incidence of combat overall, or letting you control Malroth in high stakes combat situations. Playing second fiddle is just no fun.
The tower defense segments are slightly better, as there you have a group of villagers fighting a group of enemies. Battles are often lost or won ahead of time by making sure your villagers are equipped with the best weapons. You can play a supporting role by carrying wounded villagers back to a bed to rest, but your inventory of offensive building projects like spikes or flame-breathing gargoyles have been reduced from the first game. Again, if a fight goes wrong, you can end up waiting for your allies, especially Malroth to carry the day. I died a lot less in combat in Builders 2 than I did in the first game, but I also can't say I enjoyed battling outside the boss battles, where you always play a central role.
Considering the mechanics on paper is one thing, but Builders 2 also has a massive amount of charm going for it. It's a beloved world for a good reason, and Akira Toriyama's goofy loveable characters allow you to overlook combat shortcomings. Traveling to an island, seeing the dismal state of the village when you start, and seeing just how vibrant and lively the village is when you leave is a lot of the appeal of the game. On an island, you have a Story Quest necessary to defeat the Children of Hargon, and villager quests, necessary to level of the village itself. These tend to be fairly structured and linear, but there are still secrets to find and bonus puzzles to solve if you check for hidden areas. A new auto-map and fast travel option make this easier than ever. Building the most bare-bones structures to reach the goal, the main story took me over 40 hours to complete. If you work hard to make your villages look pretty and cohesive, this could take even longer.
The game doesn't end with the story islands, however. You still have the Isle of Awakening to build on, with missions to both improve the landscape of the island with rivers, forests, and greenery, and a variety of building projects, both tiny (an item shop) and massive (a giant pyramid). I haven't had a chance to even dent this postgame content. Although I wasn't able to try out this feature in the review copy, the Isle of Awakening has a portal to allow 3 friends from over the internet visit and work together with you on building projects. You can also take pictures of scenes that impress you and share these on the game's bulletin board system. For dedicated builders and veterans of multiplayer Minecraft servers there's a lot to love here.
Reservations about the combat aside, I really enjoyed my time with Dragon Quest Builders 2, and I look forward to tackling more of the endgame content. There's something really satisfying about building work that keeps me coming back for more. The addition of a farming village on the first island also gave me some of the same satisfaction I got from the Harvest Moon series back in the day. If you enjoyed the first Builders, you'll probably enjoy this as more of the same, and if you've been looking for a series like Dark Cloud or Actraiser you owe it to yourself to try Dragon Quest Builders 2.
  REVIEW ROUNDUP
+ Keeps the fundamentals of the first Dragon Quest Builders
+ 40+ hour story mode plus even more post-game content
+ Building has been streamlined to make completing quests and gathering resources easier
+/- Levels constructed to be like game stages have been replaced with a more open world
- You're the second fiddle in combat, which makes combat less fun
Are you a seasoned Dragon Quest Builder or still a Child of Hargon? Will you be giving this building thing a try? Let us know what you think of the game in the comments!

Dota 2 on the Dinner Desk: How do you clarify Dota to your family members?
New Post has been published on https://takenews.net/dota-2-on-the-dinner-desk-how-do-you-clarify-dota-to-your-family-members/
Dota 2 on the Dinner Desk: How do you clarify Dota to your family members?
It’s a reality of life, just like the passing of time. If in case you have a pal that you simply see a number of occasions every week, for a minimum of an hour per day, and you retain in touch with them for a lot of the day, then someone goes to note. If in case you have a job that requires a lot of your time and a focus, somebody goes to ask about your job.
Likewise, possibly you’ve dumped a minimum of a number of hundred hours into Dota 2. You most likely go on a minimum of one web site, if no more, the place folks convene to debate it. You’re studying this text, on an whole web site devoted to Dota 2, by somebody whose job it’s to jot down about it. (Howdy!) There’s a nonzero likelihood you personal overpriced, late-to-arrive merchandise.
However there’s no motive to be scared about this encounter. In truth, I’d argue that you have to be excited. It is a new frontier in your interpersonal relationships along with your family members!
It’s additionally doubtless a welcome subject of debate on the desk. Frankly, the yr 2017 was outlined by many unusual issues: that “Hollyweed” signal, Kermit The Frog’s actor’s departure, Ryan Reynolds introduced as taking part in a Detective Pikachu, and the Academy Awards’ Greatest Image mishap. A TON of celebrities died final yr. Politics.
Dota 2 pales compared to a lot of this. Even within the gaming world, whereas Dota 2 is nuts, it’s nothing in comparison with that EA loot field drama. Take solace in figuring out that you’ve one thing comparatively constant grounding your life and existence, and that you’ve an opportunity in grounding the dialogue. Once more, comparatively talking.
So it’s time stroll by some quite common and doable dialog eventualities which will come up when the topic comes up at a gathering. No have to worry!
This one at all times feels loads trickier than it really is, since you’re very doubtless to enter full defensive mode over it. Possibly you’re being judged, however that shouldn’t have an effect on your strategy!
Lay it out in naked phrases; go over the fundamentals. It’s like an extended sport just like king of the hill. Everybody picks a personality that has totally different magic powers, or is stronger, or can hit tougher. (And there are 115 of them.) You must develop extra highly effective, then struggle your method to the opponents’ staff base and destroy it.
If they’ve easy questions, reply them! Folks actually do need to perceive, no matter how they need to really feel about it. (By that I imply, sure, possibly your aunt/uncle does need to hate it, however that opinion received’t change regardless, so what’s the hurt?) On the very least, they discovered one thing new.
And you’ll speak about folks dedicate a LOT of money and time on it, as a result of it’s simply such an intensive sport. But when somebody finds that odd:
Okay, effectively, someone has to level it out. Not that you simply don’t comprehend it already.
Right here’s the factor: Dota 2, like many different issues, is a passion, very like how “gaming,” as a complete, is handled as such. And it’s not a meaningless one both, I promise. (Or a minimum of, that’s what we maintain telling ourselves.) For one, it simply takes so rattling lengthy to study, that you’ve to spend so much of time on it as a way to get deeper enjoyment out of it.
That’s positive, as a result of different persons are grinding too, and also you all study collectively! Actually, 13 million distinctive customers (most likely extra like 12 million after smurfs) can’t all be improper. Past the sport, there are occasions and meetups, little chat rooms and complete dialogue websites. Different folks make it price your time.
Hey, you realize what? It makes you cheerful. Simply so long as you rise up and do your work from time to time, and deal with others round you with respect and the correct quantity of consideration, and most significantly, deal with your self—what’s improper? Somebody’s gonna decide you one way or the other for nearly something you do that you simply get pleasure from. Simply don’t get too defensive if somebody does get essential. Shrug it off. It’s most likely a generational factor.
One of many previous’ems goes to say Pong or one thing. It’s price noting, like many issues, Pong’s authentic iteration runs on a large brick of a pc with much less processing energy. However, um, PLEASE don’t level that out until they bring about it up as an element of fascination.
In truth, it’s one factor to be condescending about your kin’ previous experiences with gaming. Don’t provoke a roast in your kin for being behind on the occasions; go along with the tone of the dialog.
It’s one other, significantly better factor to speak about how goddamn cool video video games are these days. It’s like going to Disney World within the 1970’s versus now. It’s not higher or worse (although most likely higher), simply totally different. Extra high-tech, extra fascinating, extra issues to do.
So clarify it that method! Dota 2 is free! The brand new graphics are fairly cool! You’ve 115 characters, which suggests 18-freaking-billion (upwards of 19 billion) character/staff mixtures are doable. You may play ONLINE with STRANGERS, and are anticipated to, and for those who’re good you might be ranked and well-known! (Although not mutually inclusive.) Folks receives a commission to educate and assist different gamers get good at it!
Think about taking part in no matter sport they’re speaking about, on the Web, and you’ll even signal as much as win cash and fame since you’re so good at it. It’s a ability, like swinging a golf membership, bluffing in poker or no matter you need to level out and examine this to. It’s one thing to be hyped for and happy with.
…and the child spins his head round to take a look at you…
HOLD UP. KEEP THAT ELITISM IN CHECK. RELAX. DEEP BREATHS. BE NICE.
I do know you don’t need to hear this child rant about Minecraft as you’re making an attempt to observe soccer. However be the higher individual right here: Gaming is definitely SUPER cool. You already know it. The adults comprehend it. The world is aware of it. You get to be the cool individual right here, and it’ll make the dad and mom completely happy.
And have a look at the truth of the state of affairs, as a result of truthfully, for those who attempt to again out of this one, you’re solely making your choices worse. As a result of choice one is, you may speak about this child’s customized server, or how he’s high 50% on this planet in Name of Responsibility, or his favourite Freddy Fazbear fan animation. A minimum of you’ll be studying about what video video games the youngsters are taking part in nowadays.
Whereas coping with somebody with parallel however not the identical hobbies might be obnoxious, the opposite choice is: You retain the door open to your kin asking in regards to the actuality of your life. Even when your life isn’t unhappy, your job is nice and you’ve got a terrific relationship, I don’t suppose anybody likes the conversational intrusion. You simply know somebody will likely be judging you.
If the child does ask what the heck Dota 2 is, simply inform them there’s an enormous competitors for it yearly. 5 gamers, like king of the hill, and everybody performs totally different characters. Like an enormous battle.
But when they’re like, 13 or youthful, inform them to keep away from it as a result of it’s an enormous child sport that takes a whole lot of studying to study, and they should give attention to their schoolwork. That’s not removed from the reality, anyway. (That’s to say, don’t break this child’s life, please. We’re all begging you.)
Improbable! Somebody may very well keep in mind it! There’s an opportunity this finally ends up being the head of your night. You get a shot at legitimizing one thing you get pleasure from as a result of it’s simply so goddamn large!
There’s a really small likelihood they might be mixing it up with one other esport occasion, however that’s okay! It is a fantastic alternative to speak in regards to the deserves of esports. Whereas Dota 2 has the most important occasion, esports occasions nonetheless have tens of millions of at stake. League of Legends and Overwatch gamers are salaried, and plenty of have advantages. They attract tens of millions of viewers at finest, and 1000’s, if not a whole bunch of 1000’s, on a gradual day. It’s gotten the designation as an business that actually sports activities staff homeowners are attempting to take a position into. (The Patriots! The 76’ers! Golden State Warriors! The homeowners of the Bruins and Celtics!)
Whether or not or not they acknowledged the sport correct, it’s additionally a terrific likelihood to clarify why there’s a event. Dota has 14 years with constant gamers who’ve performed almost so long as it’s existed. It takes a whole bunch of hours—we’ll say numerous hours equal to every week—to know the sport effectively sufficient to know it at a primary stage. There are the technical points of the sport: the reflexes, decision-making and consciousness. Given the characters, gadgets and map mechanics, it might have a ability requirement corresponding to few different hobbies on the market. Plus, once you’re within the thick of it, you want 4 teammates of comparable information and ability, and you should beat 5 gamers of comparable ability.
It goes past gameplay, although; Dota 2 is a global phenomenon. You may inform them how the final match of the most important event of the yr was a European staff versus a Chinese language one, and the way it stuffed and shook the stadium. Folks come from everywhere in the world to fulfill others and watch these video games for six days. You may inform them to think about a World Cup for an exhaustively troublesome online game, and the analogy will most likely stick effectively.
The lengthy and in need of that is, get them as excited for the aggressive side as you doubtless are, as a result of severely, when it boils down, a $24 million worldwide gaming event is fairly freaking cool.

Be respectful - You can have as much fun as you want, but when it becomes too annoying; be respectful. Know when to stop!
Be ethical - If you're reading this you know what it means!
Use common sense - If you want to do something, it's all good. However if someone is annoyed by it or it's making them upset, stop! You can curse too, however if you know there are younger kids online then don't; you feel? Use situational awareness!
x
Have fun!

Rules
1. Listen to Staff
This rule is quite simple but extremely important. Listen to staff! Everyone on the staff team cares about you, and the well being of the server, it’s why they’re there! If a staff members ask you to do it, do it. If you are instructed to cease whatever you’re doing (spamming chat, being rude, being disrespectful, ignoring staff instruction) please just listen. If you don’t, well… whose fault is it if you end up in jail (or even worse, banned)? It’s never the staffs fault. However if you’re being abused by staff you can always report it to us on Discord. As stated earlier, we’re here to help you.
2. Be Respectful / Ethical / Common Sense
Being respectful ranges from a variety of things. This just means you should understand the general vibe of the server and not disrupt it. This can also mean being nice to people, or helping/listening staff. Being a bad boy or being rude to staff counts as disrespect. Just be a good boy! In another sense please be ethical. You have a built in moral compass and know when what you’re doing is wrong. Please don’t intentionally try to hurt someone or ruin someone’s day. This ties into both being respectful and ethical at the same time. Finally, please use common sense. Let’s say you fight staff, should you argue a lot you should realize ou might just get in trouble. Let’s say you find a secret room with some overpowered gear in it. If you know you can’t take it, ad know there’s a no raiding rule… well… taking it is going to get you in trouble. These three things are golden rules to live by even in real life!
3. Racial Attacks are Not Allowed
This means being racist man. Is it really that hard to understand? Don’t use any racial slurs, don’t be mean to someone for where they’re from. It ain’t cool, and will result in your soul going to limbo.
4. Griefing is not allowed
Players are not allowed to grief, griefing means any form of destroying player/staff made property. Doing so causes jail time. The only exception to this is during town wars. However those are official and watched. So you can’t make the claim you thought it was for war!
5. Taking from chests is not allowed
Don’t steal from player chests, simple!
6. Killing a player and taking their stuff is allowed
Should you kill a player in PvP, you are allowed to take their gear and keep it. You are NOT allowed to kill them with stolen goods. If the fight is kept clean you can keep what you get! Keep in mind getting your bahookie handed to you will feel horrible. You know why? It’s partly because you didn’t get the Victory Royale, and partly because all your stuff is gone. Don’t go complaining to staff about this; you took the fat L. Learn and grow from the mistake!
7. Do not beg staff for items/gear/materials
It’s always okay to ask for help; or if you’re in need of something. However constantly nagging at staff to give you materials or gear is not allowed. This ranges from a simple iron sword to enchanted diamond gear!
8. Do not spam the chat
You know what spam is, you’ve probably done it once or twice in your younger years. Please refrain from spamming stupid messages, memes, quotes, phrases, letters, numbers… etc. Keep the chat area lookin’ nice and tidy.
9. Hacked Clients are not allowed
There isn’t much to say here, using a hacked client that allows flying, XRay, god, spider… etc/etc. Is not allowed! You will face being IP banned on sight. Keep in mind you can submit ban appeals through the Subreddit; however half of that is being known and understood on the server. So, chances of you joining, using a hacked client, getting banned, and said ban getting appealed are slim to none. No one is stupid enough to think it was an accident. Stick to playing the game the way it was meant to be played.
10. Duping items is not allowed
Minecraft is a buggy game, we all know this. There is always a way to get something you have duplicated into another; does this mean you should? Or that it’s allowed? No! It isn’t allowed. Duping items in any form is not allowed. That being said exploiting the game in any way can be seen as punishable.
11. Do not promote products/servers that are outside of this server
People don’t come on to hear you talk about how cool another server is. If you are found promoting another product or server through us you will be terminated from existence. Most likely temporarily unless guilty of multiple infractions.
12. Please remember the staff team is here to help you!
Everyone who is on the staff team is here because they care about you, and your well being. When a staff member enters any given situation it is to cease the conflict. You may be right in said situation; and you may be wrong. However this is up to the staff to see!
13. Please report any bugs/glitches you find in game
This can be from a simple opening in a barrier to an infinite giving machine. Anything you find; please report it!
14. Staff are in charge for anything not listed here!
Please keep in mind anything not listed here doesn’t mean it’s out of the ball park. If you do something you know is wrong, it IS wrong! If you have questions about whether something is allowed or not just ask in game or DM in Discord.
