"Gooooood morning, my dear!" A voice boomed right above where she was trying to sleep.

She tried to ignore it by turning onto her back while pressing a pillow against her head to block out the sounds so she could sleep a bit more, "Just a few more minutes..." She grumbled a bit grumpily.

Next thing she knew, she had been teleported into the arms of the ringmaster of the circus without notice, "Now, now! None of that oversleeping nonsense, my lovely jester!" He chuckled, kissing her cheek gently. His breath was warm against her face but she couldn't find it in herself something that had grown so comforting to her, "We have a full day of dates ahead of ourselves~" He sounded excited with a singsong voice.

One of her eyes opened slightly as she looked up at him, still a bit sleepy, "...a 'full day'?" She repeated, a bit amused as if assuming that he was exaggerating about that. She was hoping he was at least.

"I've already had the rest of our colorful cast of characters sent out on their daily adventure! So, it's just me and you until they return!" His teeth turned up to an ecstatic grin, "I will fully devote my entire code and being to my love for you!" He announced as tons of images of different sceneries began to spin around Pomni's head, "Look at all the fun activities I've planned out!"

The jester felt her head spin at the fast moving images that her eyes tried and failed to keep up before they suddenly vanished as quick as they came. She shook her head with a light groan, "W-Wait, wait, hold on!"

Before she could voice any concerns, Caine had shifted her a little while keeping her held so he could use a hand to snap a portal open and he rushed through with her where he suddenly dropped her from the sky.

"AHHH-... ah?" Pomni squeezed her eyes and screamed in instinct at being dropped from what she thought was a super high height. She froze as she found herself on something incredibly soft while smelling some pancakes near her nose, "...wha-?" She cautiously opened her eyes and looked down when she found herself on top of a cloud made of... she picked up one of her hands and gave the thick, white substance a careful lick, "...whipped cream?" She blinked in surprise as she looked up at her boyfriend who was currently holding out pancakes in front of her that was in the shape of a certain rabbit with blueberries, bananas and strawberries on top, "Is that supposed to be Jax?" She questioned in amusement as she took the breakfast from him, deciding to use some of the whipped cream clouds to top the flapjacks.

The ringmaster chuckled as he sat next to her with his own pancakes, "Who's to say what the shape is meant to represent." He joked, not fully answering her question as he started to eat his own breakfast.

She snorted quietly as he obviously hid the true answer but simply played along with him, "Right, silly me." She smiled lightly as she began to eat as well. She wasn't certain exactly what Caine had been planning at first but if it was stuff like this the entire day then she wouldn't find herself complaining anytime soon.

After a couple of hours of the two enjoying each others' company a sound began to ring out from Caine's Wacky Watch (tm), "GADZOOKS!" The ringmaster suddenly yelled out, startling poor Pomni but the sudden noises, "I almost forgot about what was next on our itinerary!"

"I- wha-?"

"COME ALONG, MY DEAR POMNI!"

"Ohherewego-"

Before the jester could let out any other word, her wacky boyfriend grabbed her hand and swiftly flew through another portal which this time led to a massage place that also had hot tubs for later on. She stared in awe at how pretty the area was, how good it smelled and the relaxing music. A mannequin suddenly picked her up, moving her over and laying her on her stomach for a massage.

Caine quickly shooed the NPC away so he could take over, "Now, just relax, my love." He smiled at her before beginning to massage her back as gently yet firmly as possible to relax her muscles, humming a light melody for her.

"Caine, as nice as this is, how much more is there-?" Pomni chuckled a little in uncertainty but she wasn't trying to bring down his mood. This has been the happiest she's seen him since they started dating but she was a tad concerned by how it seemed he had things planned for every two to three hours. It almost seemed like he was obsessing over every little detail- it was a bit disconcerting...

The eyes between the pair of dentures looked over at her, "I don't wish to spoil all the details, dear." He hummed as he kneaded her back to help loosen up her muscles, his fingers tapping her skin a little bit in concealed nervousness as if he wasn't sure he was pleasing her thoroughly enough, "But I had planned to give you and I, just us, the entire day and night together." He admitted, "I've seen how exhausted and a bit stressed you've been lately so I just thought giving you an entire day devoted to you would be please you?" His voice changed into a more questioning one as soon as he noticed his jester's expression changed from pleasantly unsure to one he interpreted as more of a displeasure.

"Caine-" She tried to start with a sigh, sitting up while covering her upper half with the sheet that had been just covering her topless back.

The AI reeled back and shut his teeth to cover his eyes, "I-I'm sorry if I was going too far!" He interrupted, turning his back to her as he began to fidget with his gloves.

The girl sighed as she put the top of her jester outfit back on before slowly wandering over to her boyfriend and gently placed a hand on his arm, pulling him down to her level, "Caine... look at me please..." She mumbled to him. He eventually turned to face her, letting his teeth crack open enough to let only his eyes be seen, giving her his attention although he still looked ashamed, "I'm not annoyed or mad at you... Quite the opposite, in fact, I love that you thought of me and loved me enough to want to spend so much time with me." She gave him an understanding smile, "But I think this devotion you're giving me? It's become more of an obsession that you need to snap out of." She put a kind hand on his lower jaw and her other hand in his hand, "I don't need you obsessing over every tiny detail for me, Caine, I'm quite happy just to be with everyday. Even when you're going a bit crazy with your adventures." She chuckled lightly, the most genuine laugh he's heard from her this whole day.

Caine almost melted with her touch, "Then how about we head home then, my dear? The others should almost be done with their adventure by now." He offered, holding up his free hand to snap open a portal.

"We could-" Pomni chuckled before looking at where the hot tubs were before grinning, "Or we could enjoy the last bit of this date to the fullest."

The ringmaster lit up and laughed lightly, giving her a kiss on the lips gingerly, "Lead the way, dear Pomni~"

Bo had to pee. Bo always had to pee. Ian spent an appreciable amount of time waiting around for his partner to use the bathroom and showing up to the movie theater was no exception. Sure, Bo had peed before they’d left the house but Bo was already proclaiming he had to go again before Ian could park the car. It was their first time going to the theater since all of this mess had started. Finally, as they were approaching spring without any further attacks they were feeling more comfortable inviting the activity back into their lives (maybe). Ian was finding that a lot that they used to do together was no longer an option. Their days of reckless and large gatherings alike didn’t grab at his partner’s attention like they’d once had. Whether that was due to the effects of the attacks or the fact they’d grown up over these past few years apart Ian wasn’t sure. He hoped for Bo’s sake much of it was the latter but he didn’t prod him when it came to stuff like this. He never wanted to stir up any more pain in his partner making him think of things like why they weren’t going to the movies every week like they used to, or going out to parties, or even hanging out at Showtime. None of that was on Ian’s mind now walking into the movie theater. Though he still felt an overwhelming urge to protect his partner constantly the laborious task of doing so wasn’t at the forefront of his mind and he’d hopefully be able to keep it in the back for this date. It was just a matinee but he missed the movies. Anytime he came in for popcorn he always lingered on the titles showing. He felt he’d missed a lot of films he’d love to see and while Moonstruck hadn’t been high on his list of must sees but he did like Cher and Nic Cage and that was enough for him. 

As they entered from the bright sunlight into the darkness of the moviehouse there were several things on his mind and Hen Wen had been none of them. Ian had given Bo’s ass a playful little pat as they parted ways so Ian could get in line while he used the bathroom. Ian was in high spirits, a small smile on his face as he headed for the concessions only to be faced with the last person he wanted to see. Fear bubbled up in his belly but it was nerves he at least knew how to handle. Ian felt like Hen Wen had a vendetta against him (or fun in general) with the sheer amount of glares and window taps and threats of bannings thrown his way. Part of Ian wanted to make a B-line for the bathroom upon seeing them but he held his ground, besides people had already trickled in behind him in line and he didn’t want to cause a scene by getting out of it just to wind up back in it in a minute. No, he held his ground as he figured out whether or not he should pray that Bo finished up early so he could join him in line for this or pray Bo lollygagged and he could get through the interaction without his co-conspirator by his side. Ian kept himself busy looking anywhere but Hen Wen’s direction as he slowly but surely shuffled forward in line waiting until he inevitably had to face them.

A giant cloud of smoke invaded your line of sight and you coughed, waving your hand to push away the smoke. Your eyes shut tight, you hear maniacal laughter from the smoke. 

"It's showtime."

You scream and fell back, the smoke disappeared and revealed a man. A plump man wearing a disgusting black and white suit, his face pale which heavily contrasted his dark eyes and green hair. 

"Hey there!" He smiled and showed his sharp teeth and you yelped. 

"What the fuck are you!?" The man laughed again. 

"The ghost with the most, the demon with a meanin', the man of your dreams!" He whispered right afterwards "Or nightmares if you're into that." 

Your face scrunched in confusion as you stood, "Are you." You grabbed the fallen business card. 

"Betelgeuse?" You pointed to the small bug man. He nodded. 

"Except I'm way hotter, don't you agree?" He smirked and threw his arm onto your shoulder. 

"Now. Why'd ya summon me. Money? Revenge? Lust?" His eyebrows wiggled and you shivered. 

"What? No!" You threw his arm off of you and backed away. "I didn't even mean to 'summon' you. I just read from the card." You used air quotes with the word summon. Looking at the card you scrunch your eyebrows. 

The strange man looked around the room, grumbling about how you don't have any picture books. 

"So what are you exactly?" You asked and he perked up. 

"Well" he snatched the card and pointed at the words 'Bio-Exorcist'. "I get rid of the living."

"Like a hitman?" 

He shrugged. "Something like that. I'm normally hired by ghosts, ghouls, spirits, poltergeists. They hire me to get rid of you." His dirty hand poked your chest and you slapped it away. 

"Well no ghosts, ghouls or spirits here." 

"Not even a poltergeist?" You shook your head. 

"Damn you're boring." He huffed. 

"If you have no business to attend to here. Then leave." You crossed your arms, the man shakes his head. 

"Oh ya can't get rid of me that easy babes!" He started to float and you backed up, not expecting that. 

"Ya can't just leave me like that, ya practically givin me blue balls!" He smirked and suddenly with a snap of his finger you started to float too. 

"What- put me down!" You yelled. 

"Come on, let's have some fun while I'm here!" You started to uncontrollably spin. Ya this is gonna take awhile to get used too. 

It took an hour for him to put you back on the ground, only after he tried to twirl you and dip you into a kiss. Which you socked him in the face for. 

"Damn tough crowd" he felt his swollen cheek as he sat on your loveseat in your living room. You came into the room with a bag of ice, "I'm not sorry for punching you." You said and handed him the bag. 

"Fair." 

"So how are you able to do all that..magic?" You asked and sat next to him. He laughed. 

"Magic..ha! Honey that's just talent." You raised your brow and he huffed. 

"I'm only able to use it if a mortal says my name three times." He grumbles, the ice started to melt. 

"Like an activation spell?" You said, remembering your life in the 70s playing dungeons and dragons with a group of nerds. 

He nodded. 

"But I'm not a mortal." You said and his eyes widened. 

"What?" He grabbed your shoulder. "Well ya alive ain't ya?!" He said a bit too loudly and you frowned. 

"I'm an immortal." You confessed and he let you go. 

"A wha-now?" You laughed from seeing his face scrunch in confusion. 

"I can't die." You explained and his eyes widened. 

"Can I test out that theory?" He snapped his fingers and suddenly he held a knife. You raised a brow. 

"Maybe another time." You took the knife from him and left to the kitchen. 

Setting the knife down on the counter you sighed, gladly he didn't follow you. You needed a breather. It's been about four hours since you've met the demon ghost man and every minute is pure confusion. 

Does his mere existence mean there is an afterlife, or the exact opposite? You want to ask him all of these questions but something in your gut is saying it's better if you don't know. I mean it's not like you're dying anytime soon anyways.

"Uh babes? What ya thinkin'?" You yelped and grabbed the knife turning towards him you pointed the knife at his face. 

"Woah there!" He pushed the knife away. 

"If ya wanted to get rid of me that bad ya coulda just asked." He chuckled and you frowned. 

"Sorry, just...not used to other people in my house." 

"Our house." He stated and you raised a brow. 

"Pardon." 

"I've taken a liking to this house." He hummed. 

"So." He twirled and suddenly had two suitcases in his hands. 

"Hello roomie!"

Persona 5 Royal Thoughts

I just finished the game a few hours ago and just in that state where I’m feeling empty and not sure what to do with myself. So I’m just gonna jot down some random thoughts, specifically on the characters and events involved in the 3rd semester.

Overall, I just really love this game, the character’s and it’s story and I’m gonna miss it very much and I don’t know if Persona 5 Scramble is gonna help much with this feeling. Really thankful that Atlus decided to come out with Royal and I basically got to capture that feeling of playing this wonderful game again for the first time.

Sumire Yoshizawa

- Sumire’s confidant and story overall was really amazing. I was honestly spoiled a bit early on that there was a character named Sumire, but I never expected “Kasumi” was really Sumire early on. Just all the little hints scattered throughout the story that you only see in hindsight, or how seeing her ID changed your cognition to only see her as Kasumi was executed really well.

- Her gradual progression from thinking so down on herself, to having faith in herself and her abilities is relatable but also something I wish I could do. It really is much easier to run away and forget or break down and want to be someone else. But it’s impossible to do that forever, so like Sumire, sooner or later we all need to face our demons and they illustrated that wonderfully with Sumire’s confidant

- Her character as a whole also pulled on my heart so much that I decided that she’d be the one I ended up dating. I don’t know if it’s because of the game sorta actively shipping her and Joker together or what, but I just really like their chemistry. It also helps that she is the only female confidant that actively confessed her feelings, not to mention Joker’s reaction to it right after with leaning in so close to her.

- I’m kinda upset but I managed my time improperly and somehow didn’t get my showtime with her. I’m trying to not be too upset with it but it’s a bit hard to say the least.

- I also wish she got a proper goodbye on the final day, but oh well I still overall enjoyed her a confidant so much and her overall role in the story.

- It really was amazing that if not for her cognition being changed, she really wouldn’t have met Joker, and events definitely would’ve been different.

Goro Akechi

- I honestly did not like Goro in my first playthrough of vanilla P5. I refused to use him in my party and sold all his gear, because I was highly suspecting he’d betray and I was right

- However, after seeing,liking, reblogging month’s worth of content and fanart surrounding him I was slowly coming around to him prior to the release of P5R. 

- Once I started going through his confidant I started to appreciate him a bit more, but I still didn’t use him in Sae’s palace. When I fully maxed out his confidant and had that 1v1 I thought his confidant was amazingly reworked, and that damn he was actually being treated a lot better by Atlus. By the time Shido’s palace came around I just felt bad for the poor guy.

- By the time he came back for Maruki’s palace I kept him in my part and then I really started to like him. He was just so bloodthirsty and reckless and he never held back. I guess that’s maybe why I didn’t like him prior? cause he’d always have that smug facade. Also his showtime with Joker is so cool, like his and Sumire’s showtimes take the prize. Still wish I got to see her’s though in my playthrough :(

- Everytime he opened his mouth against Maruki it was clear that he wouldn’t hold back anymore even if it was at the cost of his life and I just really respect that. And I love that he’s always pushing Joker to do the same in a way.

- Overall I’m sad that he faded away, unless the final scene means otherwise. I may not like the things he did, but overall I respect him and I wish things were worked out different for him

Takuto Maruki

- You can’t help but feel bad for Maruki as the story progresses. Just all the unfortunate things that happened to his loved ones and his powerlessness. You really feel for and empathise with him. And it makes it almost easy to understand where he’s coming from. All he wants is no-one to go through what Rumi or her family went through ever again, through any means possible and that in itself is an admirable goal.

- By the end of the game, when he’s trying to use his powers on the world you can honestly say it wouldn’t be that bad. Everyone happy? Noone gets hurt sounds pretty good. But as pointed out in the game, it’s akin to running away. And yes it is an option when faced with tragedy and it’s easy. But you can’t do it forever and though it may be hard it is not impossible to face the past and move on, especially with enough support. They just really honed in on that point.

- As the boss fight proceeds through it’s face you just feel worse and worse for trying to defeat Maruki especially with THAT song playing. You legitimately feel bad for facing off against him, but it had to be done and like Goro I wish maybe things could’ve turned out differently. I’m just glad in the end Maruki stopped running and decided to keep pressing onwards wholeheartedly as a taxi driver. I imagine he’d be doing his best talking to his passengers helping them from their day to day. At least I hope so.

Plot

- Really did not expect that Maruki was the one that brought back Goro, and didn’t think that the choices I made during the game were that ones that made Maruki do it. That plot twist came out of nowhere and I’m happy with how it played out. Now that’s how you do a plot twist.

- Kinda sad the ending was just them seeing him off at the station, and not the whole gang going back to Joker’s hometown with him, but I assume it was to set up for Persona 5 Scramble, maybe?

- As I mentioned before, still sad that Sumire didn’t get a good bye scene or an item or anything, but oh well what can you do

- I was surprised that they’re all giving the whole gang new goals to strive for and basically having everyone go their own paths. But it makes sense and it was needed. They couldn’t have the group just be defined for their Phantom Thieves actions and I like that change. I especially loved that during the credits, they displayed each character doing their own thing. Was really touching.

- Speaking of the ending, I was just so sad as the credits rolled by, and another tearjerker by Lyn started playing. I’m not gonna play it again anytime soon but I won’t get to see them again in a new light until Scramble, and even then there’s no Sumire, or Akechi supposedly so sigh.
