RIP Alex Trebek and RIP Howie Meeker.

Alex was a mainstay in my home growing up as was Howie and his Hockey School. I never had the opportunity to meet Alex Trebek and wished I had, but meeting Howie Meeker at summer hockey camps was a thrill as I watched him on TV.

It's the little things you remember and the nature of both their celebrity was such that they didn't feel above the fray, and were always personable and approachable.

Rest in peace Alex and Howie. You will be missed.
