|VOLUNTEERING DAY 2| We were greeted in Huayllabamba with confetti 🎉 We first went to one of the locals houses to learn how to properly construct the stoves in the morning, where there were some newborn kittens and a room full of guinea pigs! “Yes, maybe you can help me?” Peeta started, holding out his set of papers. The woman turned towards him, finally, hitting him with the grey of her irises, a color such he hadn’t seen before.

“I am Dr. Mellark, and I’m supposed to meet a Captain - let me find his name …” He looked through the papers he was still holding, searching frantically for the name he was sure he’d seen somewhere…. “Captain Everdeen? He’s supposed to take me to Huayllabamba?”

INCA TRAIL CLASSIC4 DAYS - TREK MACHU PICCHU

DAY 01: CUSCO - WAYLLABAMBA

We Will Start The Tour Picking You Up At Your Hotel At 06:00 Am; We Will Be Driving From Cusco To Ollantaytambo And Then To Km 84, Place Where We Have To Register To Enter The Inca Trail And Place Where We Will Meet All The Staff Members That Will Do This Trip With Us. From Km 82 We Will Start A Simple Hike For 2 Hours Until We Arrive To Our Lunch Spot Known As Miskay. After Lunch We Will Take A Short Nap And We Will Continue With Our Adventure For 4 Hours, Until We Arrive To Huayllabamba. In The Way We Will Be Able To See The Archaeological Site Patallacta. Finally In Huayllabamba We Will Prepare Ourselves For Dinner And Sleeping In Tents And In A Camping Site

DAY 02: WAYLLABAMBA - PACAYMAYO

During The Morning We Will Drink Coca Tea, Recommended For The Altitude; After We Will Have A Brekfast Prepared By Our Chef. With Energy, We Will Start Our Second Day Adventure. We Will Hike Round 5 Hours To Get To The Top Of The Mountain Named Warmihuañusca; There We Will Have An Amazing View Of The Andes; After We Rest We Will Start Going Down For About 1 Hour Until We Arrive To Our Lunch Spot. After Lunch We Will Continue Trekking Until We Arrive To Pacaymayo; Where We Will Have The Rest Of The Day To Rest, Relax And Sleep In Tents..

DAY 03: PACAYMAYO - WIÑAYWAYNA

After Having A Nice Coca Tea And Breakfast We Will Continue With The Inca Trail, We Start At Pacaymayo, We Pass By The Archaeological Site Sayaqmarca, Where After Visiting The Beautiful Inca Structures We Would Be Stopping For Lunch. After Lunch, We Will Continue Walking Until We Arrive To WiñayWayna, Where We Will Build Tents And The Camping Site To Have Dinner And Sleep.

DAY 04: WIÑAYWAYNA - MACHU PICCHU

It Will Be A Very Important Day And We Will Be Waking Up Early Since We Have To Hike 2 Hours From Wiñay Wayna Until We Arrive To The Sun Gate Or “Inti Punku”, Here The Inca Trail Officialy Finishes; From This Place We Will Be Able To Admire The Great Beauty Of The Inca City Machu Picchu. After Taking A Rest And Relaxing, We Will Start The Visit To The Sanctuary Of Machu Picchu; The Guided Tour Lasts Approximate 2 Hours; We Will Go To The Most Important Places Of The City Like The Main Plaza, The Circular Tower, The Sun Clock, The Royal Rooms, The Temple Of The 3 Windows, The Royal Cementer And Much More. Ending The Guided Visit, You Will Have Time To Continue Exploring, Take Pictures And Enjoy 1 Of The 7 Wonders Of The Modern World. SEP 21 – UN DIA COMO HOY – AÑO (1740) – NACE EN CHINCHERO, CUSCO. MATEO PUMACAHUA PRÓCER DE LA INDEPENDENCIA DEL PERÚ.

Mateo García Pumacahua Chihuantito, nació en Chinchero, Cuzco, 21 de septiembre de 1740  y falleció en Sicuani, Cuzco 17 de marzo de 1815, fue un militar y funcionario indígena del Virreinato del Perú. Fue el más destacado líder de la Rebelión del Cuzco de 1814, por lo que es considerado prócer de la independencia del Perú. Su rebelión fue comparada con la de Túpac Amaru II.

Nació en 1740 y heredó el cargo de cacique de Chinchero (su pueblo natal), Maras, Huayllabamba, Umasbamba y Sequecancha.

Al frente de milicias indígenas, persiguió a José Gabriel Condorcanqui (Túpac Amaru II) durante su rebelión de 1780 y 1781, contribuyó a la causa realista con pertrechos y hombres. Paralelamente, ganó prestigio entre la nobleza inca, siendo elegido Alférez Real de Indios Nobles del Cuzco en 1802.

También apoyó las campañas de "pacificación" posteriores a la derrota de los rebeldes indígenas. En reconocimiento por sus servicios obtuvo el rango de militar, llegando a ser coronel de infantería española; la historia lo reconoce como brigadier, grado equivalente al de general de brigada de la jerarquía vigente.

En 1811, respaldó la campaña en el Alto Perú del brigadier Goyeneche.

En 1813, siendo integrante de la Real Audiencia del Cusco, de la que había llegado a ser presidente interino en 1807, tuvo noticia de la Constitución liberal española de 1812 y de las muchas "Leyes de Indias" que no se aplicaban.

Pese a su avanzada edad - tenía entonces 72 años - se unió entonces a otros líderes indígenas descontentos y a criollos liberales demandando la vigencia de la Carta española de 1812. Junto con el criollo apurimeño José Angulo y dos oficiales del ejército, el Coronel Domingo Luis Astete y el teniente coronel Juan Tomás Moscoso, formó en el Cusco, el 3 de agosto de 1814, una junta de gobierno según dicha Constitución y llamó al pueblo a ponerla en vigencia por las armas. Luego encabezó una expedición hacia Arequipa, que venció a los españoles en la Apacheta el 9 de noviembre e ingresó a la ciudad al día siguiente.

Ante la proximidad de las fuerzas realistas, Pumacahua dejó Arequipa el 30 de noviembre y buscó hacerse fuerte en Cusco y Puno. El 11 de marzo de 1815, en las inmediaciones de Umachiri (Puno), el ejército rebelde sufrió una aplastante derrota Batalla de Umachiri. Pumacahua fue apresado en Sicuani, donde se lo sentenció a morir decapitado, pena que se cumplió el 17 de marzo.

Los pronunciamientos y la carta al virrey José Fernando de Abascal y Sousa, Marqués de la Concordia (1806-1816), firmados por la junta de gobierno del Cusco en agosto de 1814, tienen el mérito de expresar un anhelo de soberanía basada en leyes libremente votadas.
