a couple of pals have said that they used to really like makoto but after p5r and p5s and whatever other spinoffs are out there they've been liking her less because atlus kind of upped her being just like. violent to the guys, because atlus loves violence towards guys used as physical comedy which is super annoying (especially since a core part of ryuji's whole deal is that he's been subjected to physical abuse) (multiple times.) (and it's not just the gals, still pissed off about how ryuji's s.link is resolved like 'you watch ryuji's former teammates beat him up because that's what everyone needs for personal growth) (-_-) I got off track, anyway I get why they're less fond of makoto now but I'm also like NOOOOOO YOU KNOW THAT'S NOT HER HEART IT'S BECAUSE ATLUS IS MAKING HER A COP!!! AND RIGHT AFTER HER WHOOOOLE DEAL IS THINKING FOR HERSELF AND RESPECTING HER OWN SENSE OF JUSTICE INSTEAD OF BEING MANIPULATED INTO BEING A TOOL OF THE OPPRESSOR!!! HER CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT DIRECTLY CONTRADICTS COP BEHAVIOR BUT ATLUS IS SHOVING HER IN THAT HOLE!!!!!! you have to do operation on her character you have to take out and rewrite every time atlus replaces makoto with cop makoto
