but anon. ais. ily, but i have indeed read shadow and bone and mal is literally like…the scum of the earth i hate him SO fucking much it’s not even laughable😭😭😭😭 like top 5 least favourite literary side characters of all time. i physically cannot compare him to woo because one is my pride and joy and the other i was constantly wishing he’d just kick the bucket since like the 50th page of book one💀

i heard he’s better in the show though (which i haven’t finished), so like maybe when i watch it i’ll understand. if i think about it harder i’m sure i’d see the parallels, but thinking of mal also enrages me so i physically cannot do it.
