just wanted to say that i adore your art, and you kinda got me into psychonauts. i already knew about it and had been wanting to look into it, but then i saw your tf2 psychonauts crossover art and went CRAZY over the designs and shapes i just had to buy both psychonaut games. i’m actually playing the second one as i type! i’m having a blast and this series is definitely going in my top favorites already, so thank you!!

anon you have no idea how happy this makes me. My favoritest games of all times it makes me so so happy to know other people are still getting into them and enjoying them! They’re both great games, but psychonauts 2 is really just a good game to play. Absolute blast bc of story and gameplay, I really hope you enjoy it!! Favorite and least favorites… good question!

Favorite in game one: Meat circus I LOVE you meat circus. I knowww everyone’s always mad about it because of the shitty gameplay and like. YEAJ. I agree. It sucked major ass but I don’t care. I love weird circuses SO much and I love Coach Oleander so it was fun getting to see the merging backgrounds of him and Raz. It just has so many super cool parts to the level that I think get overlooked because of people getting upset at the gameplay.

least favorite: Gloria’s theater :( it’s like the whole reason I haven’t replayed the first game . The setup of the level itself is boring and cramped and the mechanics for the level are confusing and i dont like it!!! Which sucks bc i love Gloria and her story is really sweet but i really dont think her level does her justice in any regard.

Favorite in game two: It’s such a tossup every time because like. Psi-King’s sensorium is full of wonderful music and in-your-face art design, Loboto’s Labyrinth is so well designed and a wonderful intro into the game that lets you know exactly what you’re getting into, Bob’s Bottle’s is gorgeous and fucking HEARTBREAKING oh my GOD. But I think Cassie’s Collection is my favorite overall because it has stellar level design, great music, and is the level of one of my favorite characters. Honestly the fact that Cassie is my favorite character is probably the only reason i can make this decision. I lvoe her sm shes so wonderful and her level tells such a good story :) I genuinely think the only downside is how lackluster the final boss is. It feels like its missing something and I completely forget about it until the moment I have to fight her.

Least favorite: Lucretia’s lament… Fun area, but very clearly meant to be a quick exposition level. Not a lot for you to really uncover, unlike a lot of the other levels that are packed with hidden secrets and details and stuff. It’s really pretty, I especially love the quilted area, but you just feel so boxed in when you play through it that it feels like setdressing. Type of railroading feel that is more reminiscent of the first game than the New and Improved psychonauts 2. I feel like if i had more of an opportunity to look around and explore and Experience the different areas I’d have more of an appreciation for it, but you don’t really get that unfortunately!

Close second is Hollis’ Classroom/Hotstreaks PURELY because ive restarted the game and only gotten halfway so many times that I’ve replayed those sections an unGODLY amount and its left a Hollis’-Classroom-shaped-indent in my BRAIN. But then i remember how cool her level is and I get normal.

Which do you think is more important to the franchise teenage age/high school era Spider-Man(even though he was only in high school for the first 28 issues) or adult Spider-Man(the way he's been for most of the franchise)?

It is vitally important that Peter Parker become a hero as a high school teenager but equally vitally important that he never remain there statically.

Equally you should not leave him stagnate as an adult either.

Spider-Man’s character and all the marvel characters were DESIGNED in such a way wherein, you can pause them in one status quo for awhile or slow down a bit but never truly stop the journey at one place indefinitely

Which isn’t advocating for stuff like Superior or Parker industries.

Peter and the Marvel characters were created with characetr development and progress in mind.

Reed and Sue are dating. Reed and Sue get engaged. Reed and Sue ge married. Reed and Sue get pregnant. Reed and Sue have a baby. Reed and Sue’s baby becomes a toddler, then a child, then a pre-teen, etc.

The X-Men are teenagers with Scott and Jean having a thing for one another. The X-Men graduate. Scott and Jean hook up. The X-Men mature and strike out on their own. Cyclops forms a new band of X-Men. Xavier created the next generation of mutant students, the New Mutants. They grow up and become X-Force.

Peter Parker is a teenager in high school living with Aunt May and has no friends sans his girlfriend Betty brant. Peter Parker graduates and goes to college after breaking up with Betty. Peter gains a new social circle of friends falls in love for the first time with Gwen and moves out of May’s house. Peter get his own place and experiences bereavment and new love with MJ. Peter leaves college and experiences his first bad relationship with Felicia. Peter and MJ fall in lvoe again and get married. Peter and MJ expect their first child. 

The Marvel characters literally do not FUNCTION properly if you try to maintain a default setting for them or else take them off on temporary tangents intended to return them to default square One eventually.

They HAVE to be allowed to (at whatever pace) move forward in a positive, organic progression. 

That’s part of what i adore about Spider-Man. It’s not that I can pick up late 20 year old married Spider-Man and say this is just inherently awesome. It’s that I know the journey we’ve been on to get us here. I can look at the lonely teenager from the first page of Amazing Fantasy #15 and see how far he’s come and follow that development across the stories.

It is not a dissimilar phenomenon to say Game of Thrones, Dragon Ball or Harry Potter, Digimon and Breaking Bad and the popularity of those franchises. 

It’s not so much the coming of age aspects so much as just the progression, development and transformation of the characters.

It is also why i think Dick Grayson is so immensly popular.

Having him just show up as Nighwing is meaningless or at least less meaningful if you don’t know he was once a circus acrobat orphan Bruce Wayne took in and made Robin the Boy Wonder now turned Adult defender of the night.

oh god i’ve been to so many concerts and they’ve made me feel so good ok this isn’t gonna b in order

1. MELANIE MARTINEZ i felt amazing bc i met her and she complimented my care bear bag and my hair!!! i love her shes so small and she sings amazing!! i was a bit bitter bc after her australian tour she started changing it and started bring characters into it but she was beautiful and i loved it so much

2. THE 1975 i felt AMAZING it was such a relaxed atmosphere but my hair looked like shit and i went by myself but when matt came on with a cigarette and a glass a wine i was in love  

3. SIMPLE PLAN & TONIGHT ALIVE oh gOD hands down the best concert i’ve been to ever i fucking love simple plan so fucking much i’ve loved them for so long and that concert also made me realise i liked girls bc of jenna mcdougall from tonight alive so it was a bit emotional and she looked amazing like fuck and then when i got in the car i just bawled into tears so hands down my fave concert to date

4. BRTINEY SPEARS i was 9 but i remember feeling so gooooood bc shes amazing and she puts on such a good show like!!!! i remember it being kinda like a circus show??  but it was so amazing i loved it

5. PIERCE THE VEIL AHHHHHHHHHH I LVOE THEM SO MUCH I FELT SO HAPPY THEY WERE AMAZING FUCK I LOVE THEM

6. SLEEPING WITH SIRENS AMAZING SO GOOD???? LIKE I AM BLESSED

7. TWENTY ONE PIOLTS i didnt know them that well!!!! but they put on a good show!!!!

8. HANDS LIKE HOUSES amazing!!!! im seeing them again in a couple of weeks but they were kinda buttholes on stage but i love them 

9. ACDC i was little when i saw them but i remember it smelling like smoke and everyone was loud and wearing black and i was wearing shitty ass jeans

10. and of course ONE DIRECTION i’ve seen them twice one was during the take me home period which was AMAZING I JUST i cant even talk about it bc i love them so much and they were so happy and i just love them a lot and the last time i saw them was just before zayn left in 2015 for their on the road again tour and it was amazing?!?!?!?! harrys hair?!?! niall!?!?! louis!?!?! liam!??! zayn??!?! zayn left half way through my concert which sucked but the rest of the boys dealt with it so well!!!! and i saw troye sivan at my concert too!!!

i’ve been to heaaaaps of concerts that i cant rlly remember so they obvs weren't that good but these are my mains!!!!!
