I knew the way I went to bed in a bad mood last night was going to affect my day today, but man, I didn't think the prospect of missing out on seeing two of my favorite bands live was going to be this stressful.

Am I the only one who is a little sad that the moment Trixie was single she didn't take a second look at Katya and immediately went to the ex? She could've given her a chance. And I wonder how K really feels now that she wants kids. I know she doesn't want them herself, but I'm afraid this will change things between them and I really really hope they don't.

ugh okay first of all: im totally w u and i a 100% see ur point. these have crossed my mind too, and i can easily get to a place where these topics make me sad for a while. but genuinely i dont think we should worry too much abt any of it. at the end all i want is for them to be happy, no matter how that looks like🤝

on a further note, we cant be like *actually* sure abt any of what is going on? like yes it seems pretty clear, and it might as well be exactly as we think it is, its all spelled out, isnt it? its really just that we were the ones who spelled it out, and not T, or any other person who is practicipating in the situation. all im saying is that i wouldnt advise anyone to bet on whats going on w T rn (if for nothing else then just out of respect), and im sure eventually we will hear either a confirmation or a fully different story that will clear things up.

((and yes. i am really sad miss K got looked over again if thats the case. even if i dont think we will ever get to live in a world they r actually legit dating. in another universe for sure. but in this one? too many hangups. these creatures cant even fucking talk abt the fact that they'd like to hang out more tgthr. like..... be fr😭 they r stooooopid, and thats okay. its sad, its tragic, but its okay, and they have a really special relationship regardless of whether they ever go that far or dont. there is always hope, and even if they fall out now, maybe they need it to break and actually confront the fact that they want to hang out? like there r so many ways for things to go. soooo many. i could sit here and spin this wheel on for hours with no end, i promise. i do think it could have happened in like 2020-2023? maybe even beginning of 24. but as things stand now... eeeh i think it wouldnt be such a clean cut, but they do tend to do things the more complicated way, at least thats how it seems to me. the thing is that they r such complex ppl and they have so many motives that i could make literal lists about what their excuses might be (such as work, but now that T says it doesnt matter that much maybe it changes, or such as age, or what-ifs, or fear of ruining what they have, or thinking that maybe they have missed their chance, new/old confidence issues, mental health states? ...these two...). on the other hand, do we really think K got looked over? Ts literal god? im not so sure, but only time will be able to tell wtf has been going on.))

i see ur concern, and yeah change is fucking scary, especially if such comforting things change. but u see, this could be exactly one of their hangups too. things keep changing no matter what, all we can do is hope they both r okay and happy and nice parts of each other's lives.

i understand that T keeps speaking abt wantimg kids, and sure, pop off! but like, i reaaaally doubt she would be actually having kids this year? like i feel like its maybe a new thing for her to think of having kids as an actual possibility she considers for her future, thus she speaks abt it openly since its one of the things she is interested in now! but like, having a kid is not this quick of a process, even a pregnancy takes 9 months😭😭 and also im pretty sure that her life isnt at a place where she could pick up a kid tomorrow and just go on and be her best self as a parent and i feel like she must be aware of that? T and K would both be at least okay parents, thats for sure!! but like, considering Ts past year... yeah i dont think it will be such a quick happening. once, in a few years, sure! even in 2, why not! but not tomorrow. she'd do fine as a single parent, she'd do fine w a partner, it will be fine, just really not as soon as some ppl r concerned it might be😭 let her just get that birdie first, i think that could be a logical and nice next step!

finally, i really dont think K would have such a problem w children? (even if she did, dont u think shed make an exception for T? im pretty sure she'd do almost anything for/with T.) like she absolutely adores her nephew as far as i know, so im certain she wouldnt delete T's contact info if/when she had a kid. im pretty sure T wouldnt block Ks number either just bc she became a parent, she also seems to know how nice K is to kids despite not necessarily getting them (see: her gifting a lot of money to her nephew's, like, 4th bday? but i could argue that thats a great gift, just more long term great😭). and what if T gets that kid and eventually calls K for help (more likely for herself and not the kid, but this is besides the point), and then K does help, and then they spend even more time together with this newfound excuse, and they realise how well they function as a family, and then they can finally move in together and be lesbians and be disgustingly in love and live happily ever after??? what then???? anyways, my point is that even if they r in a tiny bit of a divitation i highly doubt it would be due to T wanting a kid. i think its more that they both were afraid during T's break that if they reached out more they would annoy the other one, bc "omg what if she needed a break from me too???" (like. T needed a break from her god. and K needed a break from the person who tethers her to this earth. sure jan. emotionally they do have some challenges, thats certain!). and maybe they need to drift a bit apart to then get back together and be even closer (if that is scientifically even possible). things arent as linear and easy as we would like them to be, and since our perspective is and outside one, im pretty sure that from their pov it seems or at least feels sooooo much more complicated. while i just sit on the floor and go "just date ffs its not that hard!!4!4 look back footage of ur faces while u look at eachother!!! thats all u need!!44!", and we r both right! it is very complicated but it could also be manageable. (what i think might be more painful here is if T has the kid w a partner, bc that seems pretty, uh, *certain*, or unchangable, final? obvi its not ***that*** drastic, but it is a bigger deal. so yeah, but i stand by my op that none of this will happen in the blink of an eye, we'll see as it unfolds ig and hope for smth real nice)

It's awesome that you support lesser known groups! I feel like new groups are popping up every other day, it can be hard for me to keep track, but yes! SO many groups that don't have wins absolutely deserve them.

Eye on You is SOOOOO good! Great choice for a favorite video. The black and white scenes are some of my faves in his videos! And the first special performance video he did with the blindfold... Wonho keeps us well fed lol I also prefer him with dark hair! Not gonna lie, I wasn't a huge fan of when he went so blonde it almost looked yellow? And speaking of hair... I'm a bit sad we didn't get a picture of him bald lol Totally respect his privacy, but it's just weird that he's gone now!

Alligator!!! The water scenes are ICONIC. The looks, the choreo, everything about Alligator is amazing!

Oh, my beautiful secret Santa Friend, you are a blessing. I am sorry it took me so long to answer this, but I guess it’s because I am not doing well since Wonho left. Ok, I am being dramatic, but I miss him a lot. His messages, his selfies, he was constantly in contact and now he didn't even say goodbye, I need a pic of his shaved head to continue living!!!

Anyways I do understand his reasons and I am sure he will reach soon and he will not let us starve, I know this is something he has to and wants to do as a S Korean citizen and I hope he can rest and have  a good time while doing his duty. I will be waiting for him, loving him with the same intensity as before.

Actually see the OOO video for Libido it’s what made me stan them (and then Love left and it was trauma time all over again) i love the video, the colours, the music, the acting, I normally hate love triangles, but this one is delicious!!!

Some underrated groups I like… TAN, Omega X (I wish them all the love they deserve, I will support them just for how brave they were speaking out about their company’s abuse) I love the concept of second chance idols, they deserve to follow their dreams, and they are more manly and mature (I love pretty young faces, but I do prefer manly idols closer to my age) CIX, victon, (I am not sure how popular they are, but they don’t belong to the big 4 companies) MCND, golden child, highlight (but i guess they are famous) pentagon, I mean I like my noise music but I also love good vocals…. 

Anyways… from the Mx concepts…. I do prefer dark concepts, that’s why I was attracted to vixx, the first video I saw from them was “voodoo doll” and I was blown away! I guess I would like a supernatural concept, as in werewolves or vampires! I have a thing for werewolves. I thought eye on you was gonna be about that and we did get a few hints, but not enough to satisfy me!

-you and Rantaro were on your way to meet his family. You never had the chance to meet them and you were happy when Rantaro announced that his parents and sisters want to get to know you, but now?

-God, you felt dizzy, the world spinned around you. 

-You wanted to run away, but you couldn't disappoint your boyfriend and his family like that.

-both of you slowly reached the gate in front of the house. Rantaro took your hand in his, squeezed it a little and smiled brightly.

-all your fear suddenly vanished and you returned the smile and you two rang the bell.

-the door swung open and Rantaro's parents stood in front of you, you straightened your back and smiled.

-his parents let you come in and showed you the way to the living room where 12 girls were sitting. "RANTARO!" they yelled and started sprinting towards him to jump on him.

-startled you took a few steps back to not get run over by Rantaro's sisters, who seemed very lively.

-"You're s/o, right?" a female, calm voice called out and you turned around. 

"Yes! Yes, I'm s/o! It's nice to meet you, miss Amami!" shook hands and sat down on the couch in the living room.

-"pretty good! They are super sweet! You got yourself a very good partner! I sure hope you don't do something stupid and lose them!" She pointed at Rantaro with a glare, but started laughing right after.

-you laughed too and since Rantaro's hugging session was over

- now started yours!

-"S/O, S/O! YOU CAN'T ESCAPE FROM US!" the whole Amami family was chasing you through the house to give you hugs and you laughed, you never laughed so much before.

- It was the right decision to visit and get to know all of these lovely people.

-You didn't knew much about Kokichi's past, his family or "organisation" he claims to lead.

-you knew that he lies a lot, but you didn't mind that. 

-You even became pretty good at seeing through his lies.

-That's probably why it shocked you so much then Kokichi came home and suddenly said that he wants you to meet his family.

-of course, you were happy! That was a huge step Kokichi took to show you that he trusted you deeply and you appreciated it. 

-but- were you ready for that? What if you mess up?? 

-fear builded up inside you, but Kokichi took your hands in his and you looked at him confused.

-then he started making some weird grimaces with his face.

-you couldn't help but laugh and your fear slowly vanished.

-Kokichi is pretty awkward sometimes and  he doesn't quite know how to cheer people up… 

-so he just tries to make them laugh or distract them somehow to help them feel better, but he would never admit that. He is an evil supreme leader after all!

-and so you would meet his family soon. Something you always wanted and Kokichi finally decided to open this last door in his heart. 

-You were so touched and happy to be trusted like this- you hugged him tightly. Kokichi laughed and patted your back. 

-"Wow, s/o are you soooo madly in love with me that you can't wait to meet my family?" he obviously tried to tease you.

-"yes, yes I am" you answered and Kokichi grew stiff for a second- seems like you startled him with that comment. You chuckled.

-Kokichi just huffed, not daring to pull back from the hug and you guessed that he was probably blushing right now.

-Cute~ you thought and smiled to yourself in his arms.

-time passed fast and today was the day you would finally get to know your boyfriend's family. 

-You were nervous and excited- a pretty bad mixture of emotions, to be honest.

-"hey, s/o close your eyes!" Kokichi took your hand in his and smiled. You were confused, but did what he wanted you to do.

-a few seconds passed until you could hear quiet whispers. 

-"Now, you can open your eyes" you did like he said and- 

-"TA-DA! These are the most important members of DICE! or how I like to call them-" you interrupted Kokichi's speech.

-"your family" you finished his sentence and Kokichi laughed. 

-"Nishishi! Ding ding ding! You're right! 100 points for s/o" he joked, but you could tell that he was just as nervous as you were.

-you smiled friendly. "Nice to meet you all! I'm s/o! I hope we will get along well!" and before you count to three all the members surrounded you, asking questions. 

-Wow, wow that's a lot- you thought, but Kokichi cut them off.

-"Oh my god! Don't act like immature kids-"

-"said the immature kid" you teased and Kokichi gasped.

"How DARE you, s/o! YOU'RE SO MEAN!! WAHHH!" Kokichi loudly fake cried and you patted his head

-"That doesn't work on me, idiot" you said, before kissing his cheeks and shutting him up like that.

- The Dice members stared at you and started to clap in their hands. 

"You're so cool, s/o!!"

"Normally, everyone falls for the leaders tricks!"

"You're really special"

-They all talked at the same time and you had little issues to follow who was talking, but they all seemed to be pretty nice.

-Suddenly they all started bowing in front of you and you almost jumped in surprise.

-What is happening??

-"Please take good care of our leader! He always does crazy stuff on his own" 

-"wait, what's happening?" you asked confused and looked back at Kokichi who surprised the same way you were.

"Please, become our leader's husband!" they continued and now it clicked. They were proposing to you- for Kokichi. 

-you chuckled. "Guys, guys! Let's get to know each other first and see how everything works out then we can talk about marriage and stuff" you explained with a smile, but to be honest the thought about a proposal from Kokichi made your heart race. 

-"Jeez! You're all acting like I would never propose in my whole life! Do you all think so lowly about me? Seriously- someday I WILL propose to s/o, but first I want to learn about every side they have and also show all of my sides- urgh…nevermind, that sounded really cringy, forget it" Kokichi tried to change the topic, but you were too deep in thoughts already.

-Someday you thought with a smile. Someday.

-well, the dice members loved you so much like?? They didn't even wanted you to leave and that warmed your heart.

Part One: The world as we know it! 

The world has changed a lot since we last connected. For starters, TOILET BOUND HANAKO KUN HAS NOT ONLY A PHYSICAL RELEASE BUT A GORGEOUS ANIME! And not only that, but MY NEXT LIFE AS A VILLAINESS: ALL ROUTES LEAD TO DOOM! IS GETTING AN ANIME AS WELL! The last time I wrote about Katerina there wasn’t even an official English translation of that long-ass light-novel-title. And now?

A WHOLE ANIME. A BISEXUAL HAREM AWAITS! I am JAZZED!

Do you think it’s my fault? No matter, I’ll take all the credit. All the manga I talk about are getting anime adaptations. I’LL DO MY DUTY AND TALK ABOUT SOME MORE!

But first. Let us address the Covid-19 shaped elephant in the room

I deeply regret that it took a whole-ass pandemic to get me back to writing. In my defense, I bought an iPad and started drawing like 900 kokichi oumas. I was really busy with that. And then I started reading fanfiction. Then that got me thinking about how fanfiction such an interesting look into how people interpret fandom, use it for wish fulfillment and escapism, and good god is everyone OK cause that bulimia fan fic was super detailed....and I am officially on a tangent. Off track. Ahem.

We are all staying inside a whole lot more which means y’all probably need some reading material and Dr. Shojo has your back! Go read “Horimiya”! It’s amazing! Ahhhh, my work here is done! I'm serious, if you’re here for a Shojo rec, that’s it! There's also like 8 million more Otome Isekais to check out now. It’s like they’re multiplying like rabbits..............

As a Doctor, I must advise you to stay inside and read some manga and practice social distancing. Embrace your inner hikikomori. 

Allright? All good? Okay now one final disclaimer:

This post is going to be talking about something a little different than usual and I want to start by giving you some context about who Dr. Shojo is in real life. 

Part Two: Dr. Shojo Exposed 

You see, when I was little I was obsessed with Japanese media. This doesn't surprise you at all I can tell. Probably because I walk around calling myself Dr. Shojo and shout about manga that you should read.

Anyways, the reason why I was obsessed wasn’t because of the big eyes or the spikey hair or the interesting new culture. It was because it tended to have more character development and overarching plotlines than the media I was used to in Canada. Dexter’s Lab, Magic School Bus, pretty much everything I saw on TV was episodic in nature, so imagine how much my mind was blown when I saw Naruto and Card Captor Sakura, heck, even Pokémon had the Indigo Plateau! Here were kids that were learning more and more each day and got to see enemies become friends and vice versa. They lived and grew older just like me. Except they were cooler than me. And had more interesting lives than me. I gotta tell you, I was so sad when I was 12 and Kero didn’t tell me I had latent magical powers. But there was magic in my life and it was the magic of a complex narrative story. And not only that, it had a sense of movement and had cool costumes. I was hooked immediately.

Also, fun fact, at that age I happened to be a complete and utter tomboy! I loved pretending to fight my friends in the playground and was really worried that puberty would ruin my life because being a girl sounded so CUMBERSOME.

Which leads me up to my confession. Before I became Dr. Shojo, I was in fact......Dr. Shonen.

Bleach? Naruto? One Piece? I've read every single chapter there is.  

Hundreds of hours of watching fight sequences. Another fun fact, I only got into shojo because my aunt bought me volume 7 and 8 of Fruits Basket thinking “all mangas like the same right? Kids love comics?” It’s a tribute to how episodic western media was back then that she thought buying volume SEVEN and EIGHT was a REASONABLE PLACE TO START READING.

Now you might also say, Hey! Dr Shojo! Cardcaptors was a shojo! And you are right! but back then the anime was marketed to boys over here in the west and they actualy like, edited out episodes that they thought wouldn't interest boys?! Second fun fact, Once when I was in Grade 3 I was told I was not allowed to join a club under the stairs cause I was a girl and it was BOYS ONLY. The point of the club? To talk about how great Cardcaptors was! I Kid you not!

So anyways, your pall Dr. Shojo loves Shonen manga to this day!

The only reason I made this Dr. Shojo blog specifically about shojo is because, being a tomboy with no female friends, reading shojo manga was the first time I really thought about what it meant to be a girl and fall in love. And y i k e s. Shojo manga, like most media, fails miserably most of the time in displaying real world relationships. Or at least, it  doesn't prepare you for how disappointing everything can be. When I had my first kiss, I was thinking about how it didn’t feel at all like how I felt reading Zen and Shirayukis kiss in Akagame No Shirayuki Hime. Those were formative years, and shojo was one of the only places I saw romance being talked about for younger audiences. I liked reading romances where no one had any sexual experiences and were figuring out what love meant to them. But let’s shelve this topic for now.

The point is that gender roles are dumb and if you have an open mind there's a world of stories out there for you. Take this time inside to read something you wouldn’t normally. Critically think about the ways that the worlds you see in stories and how you experience the world differ. What are the messages a story is trying to tell you? And why do you like the stories you do? Reflect on how the stories you tell yourself color your view of the world. Even mindless entertainment leaves an impression on us. Anyways.

Whilst you're doing that, I'm going to absolutely lose my hecking mind over the Shonen Jump series MY HERO ACADEMIA: Vigilantes!

Part Three: I downloaded the one month free trial of the Shonen Jump app and made you read all that, so I can tell you that today Dr. Shojo is going to rant about a spin-off of a shonen manga

THAT’S RIGHT, OF COURSE I READ HERO ACA AND YES I DID PICK UP THE SPIN OFF SERIES. SHONEN JUMP LETS YOU READ ALL THE NEW CHAPTERS FOR FREE ON THEIR APP. KIDS, IF YOU LIKE SHONEN AND YOU’RE PIRATING ON A SCANLATION SITE STILL GET OUT BECAUSE YOU DON’T NEED TO SEE THOSE WEIRD PLASTIC SURGERY AND DENTISTRY ADDS ANY MORE.

SHONEN IS HERE AND ITS LEGAL AND ITS FREE FOR YOU. GET OFF MANGA FOX OR MANGA ROCK OR WHATEVER THE KIDS ARE USING THESE DAYS.

OK, so by this point in the article you have learned two very important things about me: 1) I love Shonen manga and 2) I read a lot of fanfiction.

Specifically, I read an absolutely biblical amount of My Hero Academia fan fiction and let me tell you, A solid chunk of it is vigilante/ Deadpool / criminal with a heart of gold themed.

So when I saw Hero Aca had a spin off, and it was about vigilantes, I was NOT SURPRISED IN THE SLIGHTEST. Ao3 sure is powerful.

Now, if you will permit me a tangent in a post full of tangents—HOLY CRAP, THERE ARE TOO MANY VIGILANTE AUS. I CAN'T KEEP TRACK OF EM. IT’S THE ISEKAI PROBLEM ALL OVER AGAIN. I GET AN EMAIL A FIC HAS UPDATED AND I’M LIKE IS THIS THE FIC WHERE DEKU HAS AN ABUSIVE MOM OR THE ONE WHERE HE HAS SPLIT PERSONALITY DISORDER OR THE ONE WHERE HE’S VIGILANTES WITH HITOSHI. OH WAIT, nvm, it’s the one where deku has a healing quirk.

OH WAIT WHICH OF THE 6 DEKU WITH HEALING QUIRK VIGILATE AU FICS IS THIS ONE?! ARGH WHY DIDN’T I WRITE A DESCRIPTION IN THE BOOKMARK FOR THIS!

My gripes aside, there's a reason why there's such an abundance of vigilante story telling—

Deadpool made like an absolute buttload of money and people love sass and memes.

People have a desire for a story in which they see themselves. Or, how they think of themselves.They like a story about someone who maybe came from nothing. Someone who has less money, maybe someone who is unlucky and had some bad breaks. Someone who never learned they had magic, never got their Hogwarts letter, never saw Kero, someone who never got that God-level quirk from All Might. And if your on Ao3 They want someone who also has seen a lot of memes and kind of wants taco bell and is also questioning their sexuality a bit?

Enter our new hero VIGILANTE DEKU.  

But the cannon can't do this, cause hey, Deku is the chosen one. Albeit, chosen by All Might, He’s got his own thing to do. But how can we still cash in on a vigilante story?

And thus enter our New-New hero KOICHI HAIMAWARI—code name Nice Guy and then later The Crawler. True to his relatable roots. He’s just a dude in an hoodie who can go about as fast as a bike.

First off, I love Koichi. He wants to be a hero and fight crime, but most of the time he has to run away because at the end of the day he's just a dude.

He’s cute but not wildly good-looking, A bit of a nerd but not like an extreme okaku. He’s got a part time job and hates violence.

And this is where Koichi really shines—in every day stuff. He helps out wherever he can. Often, that just means listening to people complain and maybe helping his friends out with whatever they’re going through. He’s the kind of guy who smiles, not because he's especially brave, but because he just takes things one at a time and doesn't sweat the past. I think it’s really telling that he missed getting into hero high-school because he skipped the entrance exam to help someone. He’s the kind of person who lets us experience the superpower of human decency and empathy. And you know what? That’s something the world need desperately.  

This theme of human decency is really the driving force of Vigilantes—it’s a manga about how the laws are there for a reason but sometimes they unfairly impact the poor and vulnerable. It's about how a lot of criminals are just people who fell into bad social circles or on bad times. People have the capacity for cruelty and violence but that’s never all they are.  

Now, speaking of crime, the entirety of Hero Aca falls into some murky water when it comes to its evil doers. Much of the fandom has a huuuuuge problem with how much the franchise is willing to sweep under the rug in the name of redeeming their baddies. RE: people getting mad about forgiving Endeavor’s child abuse, or Bakugo’s suicide baiting. Or Mineta’s blatant sexual harassment.

But this theme is in Vigilantes even more than it ever was in the main series. To start off with, there’s this guy who tries to rape Pop Step early on, and the later he later winds up befriending everybody. It becomes a running gag that each new villain winds up befriending the other villain guys and then they all open a cat café together.

Using jobs as a way to lift people out of lives of crime is great and all but in the story there is no nuance or consequences for past wrong and well.....it feels very weird.  It's like Vigilantes plays at having an opinion about moral ambiguity and the complexity of human existence and then just.......lets everyone get along because who has time to get into all that. Make of that what you will but it sits weird for me personally.

Anyway, let's move on and talk about POP STEP our main girl!

I love pop stars and I love vigilantes and a guerrilla performer is defiantly a character I could get behind. And I think they do a good job with Pop. She is actually kind of shy, but has this secret edgy persona she puts on when she performs. She is every girl on tumbler in the early 2000s. I also looooove that they make her not that great a singer. SHE’S GOT PASSION AND CHARISMA and maybe not born talent but like why should that stop you! Talent can be earned through practice and this is a great lesson to show people.

Unfortunately, Pop is also a great example of everything wrong with romance in Shonen.

It’s established early on that Pop loves Koichi because she is the girl he rescued all those years ago and yada yada yikes we’ve heard this one before. Many times before.

Sure, it's fine that they’ve met before, but gosh am I sick of damsels in distress. It's like she can't love him just because she respects what a great guy he is in her life and in the community at large, no no, she just needs to be rescued on top of that. And LOLOLOL isn't it funny he never noticed she was a girl because she was a child with short hair?! Once he realizes she has boobs now they will for sure fall in love! That’s how love works!

She's just with him all the time—nothing romantic ever happens she just gets a little tsundere.

I am never ever going to believe Koichi likes Pop because he spends like sooooo much time with her and they never have like, a moment. The first time he considers her is when Makoto is like, ‘hey I would love to get together with you, but have you thought about if you are crushing on Pop’. (Also this entire plot point is suspect—she's arbitrarily falling for Koichi cause he.......is the protagonist?)  

Say what you will about shojo, they give you the emotional conversations, the moments where you think.....ahhh I can see why she is falling for him. They give you context! Shonen likes to just say HERE’S A GIRL YOUR AGE. YOU CAN DATE LATER WHEN THE ADVENTURE IS DONE.

Just when they might get together, Pop suddenly turns evilllllll. The evilllll beeeees made her eeeevilllll (and more sexy).

Because why on earth would they get together if Koichi didn’t get to rescue Pop one more time?

I’m tired. These troupes are tired. I’m sure you are too. HOWEVER! If your still with me, Let’s move into why I'm really writing this post. Let’s get to the part that got me screaming to my friends, who by the way, don’t even care bout Hero Aca….but listened anyways. May you all find nakama like these my friends.

And now, I would like to formally defend my claim that DESPITE HOW AMAZING IT WAS, ERASERHEAD’S BACKSTORY HAD NO BUISSNESS BEING IN THE VIGILANTES SPIN-OFF MANGA.

Eraserhead, aka Aizawa Shouta, is a side character who is working with the police on some crime stuff. He is not a main cast member in this spin off. He’s a guest character that fans of the main series will be like OH COOL. GRUMPY CAT MAN LIKES CATS ON HIS OFF HOURS TOO. LOVE THAT FOR HIM.

So, my imagine my absolute surprise when Aizawa runs into Koichi and the following happens:

It starts to rain, so, like in any good manga, this means some great FORCED BONDING TIME

Except no. It doesn't because rather than start talking, Aizawa JUST STARTS REMEMBERING—ABSOLUTLY SILENTLY TO HIS OWN PRIVETE SELF—HIS ENTIRE TRAGIC BACKSTORY.

AND THIS GOES ON FOR CHAPTERS.

THIS GOES ON LONGER THEN ARC ONE IT FEELS LIKE.

I LOVE IT, BUT KOICHI IS ABOUT TO JOIN ATSUSHI NAKAJIMA IN THE DUBIOUS CATEGORY OF “PROTAGONISTS THE SERIES FORGOT ABOUT IN LIEU OF COOLER SIDE CHARACTERS”.

You and Jimin did start hanging out a little more often after that Sunday. Your relationship grew and you could see the way he would attempt to make you a part of his plans every here and there and not to get you wrong, it wasn't much but it was a start. Not to mention an upgrade from how he used to treat you, which wasn't the worst, looking back at it, but for some reason, you just wanted his attention and he never really gave it to you so you guess you could say you grew bitter feelings towards him because of it.

As for Taehyung, you hadn't seen or heard from him in a couple days which made you worry about what happened. You really wished that he wasn't in trouble because of you. Whenever you asked Jimin about him, he would just tell you not stress over it and that he's okay but that was about it. But Taehyung was your best friend, you just needed to see if he was alright for yourself.

So after school on Friday, you decided you should make your way to their dorm. You had never been there before but you knew their address because Jimin gave it to you to come over a day prior.

When you got to the apartment, you almost didn't want to knock so you just stood at the front door, debating like a weirdo when someone suddenly opened the door.

It was Jungkook. You noticed him from school. You two occasionally talked but you knew very little about him. He never really showed up to school and when he did, he didn't necessarily associate with anybody who wasn't already his friend. But around his members, he seemed really outspoken and loud.

"Hyung, I told you it was her!" he shouted over his shoulder, banana milk in his right hand, slightly smirking at you.

You shyly smiled back, hoping he wouldn't see how nervous you were. Jungkook was one of the most popular boys at your school and in BTS in general. You swear, like, everyone had a crush on this man. And you couldn't blame them to be honest. He was hot.

"We have CCTV," he explained. "Saw you on the camera."

You swiftly nodded your head in understanding. "Ohhh, gotcha." You then looked away awkwardly, finding it hard to look him in the eyes with the way he was smiling at you in a cocky manner.

Just then, Jimin came up. "Yah, stop flirting with her like that," he teased Jungkook, making him laugh as he walked away. Jimin turned to you. "Hey, I didn't know you were coming today, come in."

You did as told and as he locked the door behind you, you took a moment to scan their living room. It was quite cramped and messy, which honestly didn't surprise you but still, something needed to be done about it.

"Jimin, this place is a pigsty," you said in disgust.

Jimin put his hands on his hips and stared at you. "Well, maybe if you told someone you were coming over, miss."

You cocked your head, disapprovingly. "So you mean to tell me you only clean up when you have company?"

He laughed. "What? No. Pfftt--"

"Yes he does," a voice spoke. You turned your head to see where it was coming from only to find a semi tall boy with black hair and tan skin, coming out of one of the rooms. He was wearing red boxers and a white T-shirt. "He never cleans. If and only if someone is coming over and he half asses that too," he continued as he walked to the kitchen.

You started laughing. He looked like he was annoyed at just the thought of it. "I believe it," you said back to him.

Jimin sucked his teeth. "Wow, so you guys are just gonna gang up on me, huh? I see how it is."

You and the boy both laughed before he looked at you fully. "I'm Hoseok," he finally introduced himself.

"I'm y/n," you replied, slightly bowing in his direction. "It's nice to meet you."

"Y/n," Hoseok repeated, slowly scanning over Jimin, grinning. "I see, I see." He looked back at you. "Well, it's nice to meet you too." He then turned around and went to the fridge.

Jimin rolled his eyes. "Let's go to my room," he said before grabbing your arm and pulling you into his room with him. It was small with two bunk beds, stuffed animals scattered around on almost every one.

"Well, wait," you spoke, making him turn around and look at you. "I actually came here to check on Taehyung. Do you know if he's around?"

Jimin's eyebrows raised in realization. "Oh... Taehyungie.. I-I told you he's fine, you don't need to worry about him." He shook his head and sat on his bed.

"I know you said that," you replied, sitting down next to him. "I just want him to know that I'm sorry."

"Sorry for what?"

"Getting him in this mess. He'd be okay if it weren't for me."

Jimin sighed. "It's not your fault, y/n. Or his. You guys didn't do anything wrong. It's just some fans... they... I don't know. But you didn't do anything and he's not mad at you."

You thought about it and he was right. You had no reason to feel guilty but for some reason, you did. "I just want to see him," you whispered, looking down.

You could feel Jimin staring at you as you both sat there in silence for a while. It had to be at least a minute or two before he spoke up again. "He's out right now and I don't know when he's coming back but I can tell him to give you a call."

You shook your head, knowing that there really wasn't any other option.

"And it's okay," he reassured. "We're not even that famous, this will die down in a few days," he laughed. "I honestly am surprised there were people that cared in the first place."

Honestly, this made you feel a little better about the situation. "Hey, don't say that," you chuckled. "You guys will be big one day, I just know it."

"Ha, yeah, right," he said, rolling his eyes and laying back comfortably. "Have you even looked us up? Like at all?"

Your eyes widened as you tried not to burst out laughing. You truly hadn't look them up and you never really thought to until he mentioned it. You suddenly felt like a horrible friend and you guess the fact that you, in fact, hadn't was present on your face because Jimin rose back up and got closer to you, examining your face. "Wow," he said. "You haven't looked us up, have you?" he shook his head in disbelief. "You're a fraud."

You felt like sinking. "I'm sorry?" you attempted to apologize. Eyes closed, he shook his head no. You grunted. "I'll do my research when I get home later. I promise!"

He opened his eyes. "And you have to take me out for ice cream. Maybe then I'll accept this apology."

You sighed at the pettiness but agreed anyway.

After leaving, you went straight home, took a shower, ate, studied, then did your research on the boys like you said you would.

If you were being truthful, you never looked them up, not because you weren’t interested but because you wanted to continue looking at the boys as friends rather than K-pop idols. But alas, you knew the day would come where you would have to see their work someday.

You took a look at the only three music videos it appeared they had. You liked them. Honestly. They were so talented, it left you in shock. You saw some dance videos their company uploaded and was even more in awe. How come they never bragged about their talents? And Jimin's doubting that they're gonna be big? Not a chance in this world, not with that kind of talent.

You also decided to take the time out to listen to their albums. You pretty much watched and listened to them all night long, eventually falling asleep to their music. You now saw why the little amount of fans they had went as hard as they did for the boys. Can't say you could blame them. They were different from other groups and it showed. You knew that with time, they could really be something huge.

The next day at school, you excused yourself to use the bathroom and while heading towards your destination, you saw a familiar face walk by, stopping you in your tracks. He glanced black at you but continued to walk away. Did he really just walk pass me? you thought. You scratched your head in confusion.

"Taehyung," you called, turning around.

He stopped walking and just stood for a while, looking down at the ground. You repeated his name. He turned, an extremely annoyed look on his face. "What?" he asked blandly.

You flinched at his tone. It was much different from the one you were used to hearing from him. "Are you mad at me?" You knew Jimin said he wasn't but you just had to ask because with the way he was acting, it sure seemed like he was.

He sighed.

"You haven't been answering your phone or coming to school," you continued. "I tried to talk to you yesterday but you weren't home... Jimin said he'd tell you to call me."

"He did," he said sternly. "What about it?"

You started to feel sad, as if you were about to cry or something. Your eyes were definitely teary, at most. Taehyung was such a good friend to you, you had never seen him be like that before.

"Tae... What's wrong with you? Why are you acting this way?" you sulked, looking down at the floor.

"I'm not acting any way, y/n. Just leave me alone, alright?"

"What?" You looked back up, your heart beating a bit faster than before. What did he mean leave me alone? "Tae, come on. You don't mean that--"

"I do."

You were at a loss for words. This wasn't like Taehyung at all. He would never be so harsh and he was someone that truly valued every single type of relationship he had, no matter who it was with. This was way too out of his character and that's what caused a tear to drop.

You then heard a tsk as he rolled his eyes and looked slightly away from you, clearly feeling a tad bit guilty. 

"Taehyung, I don't want to lose our friendship over something so dumb," you stated. You had no idea how serious this was and some part of you actually did believe that he wasn't mad at you at some point. But you were wrong. He was mad at you, as you thought the first time. Before Jimin made you believe otherwise.

"It's not dumb, Y/n. My career is in jeopardy. And we're still rookies, it's not too late for them to kick me out--Jesus, why am I even explaining to you?" He scrunched his eyebrows before rolling his eyes once again. "It’s not even like you would get it. I'm leaving. And don't even think about contacting me again. It's best that we both keep our distance so that these rumors clear."

He turned and was ready to walk away before he stopped and turned around one last time. "Oh and that also means staying away from Jimin," he added.

You couldn't believe the attitude from him. It was so usual. What got him so upset? You understood about his career but the way he spoke to you was just so uncalled for. Maybe if it came from someone else's mouth you would have been okay but hearing it from Taehyung's was another story. Feeling hurt, you proceeded to head to the ladies room where you locked yourself in a stall and cried it out in private.

It only last about 30 seconds before you got it together and got out the stall to fix your appearance in the mirror. Your eyes were still puffy and red but at this point, you had been out of class long enough to stall any longer so you made your way back. You re-entered the class just as Mrs. Lim was putting in a movie.

Walking back to your seat, you passed Jimin who was leaning on his desk as if he were about to fall sleep. Until he saw you, that is. He peeped his head up, staring and looking back at you as you sat. His assigned seat was two rows up and one seat left of yours.

You looked at him, looking at you. "What's wrong?" he mouthed, seeming concerned.

You shook your head. "Allergies," you lied. You didn't want him to know. Not only was it embarrassing but you didn't want him and Tae to argue. So you decided to keep things quiet.

A few minutes passed. The lights were out and the movie was now on. Out of nowhere, balled up paper landed on your desk. You already knew it was Jimin.

"Pizza after?" it read. You semi smiled, looking up to a cheeky Jimin. You nodded your head as a ‘yes’, then put the note away and focused on your work for the rest of the class, although it was kind of hard to.

You was honestly just worried about how you and Taehyung would end up after this. You didn't want to stop being friends with him or at least make sure that it didn't end of the way that it did. You felt the two of you still needed to talk regardless, you just needed a plan on how.

It was Saturday night when one of her friends was practically dragging her out of her flat into a club. Strangely, they went into the same club as she used to with Junmyeon, her ex when one of his friends was throwing a birthday party. Junmyeon and (Y/N) broke up roughly 4 months before that night. Her friends have set her up with a bunch of different guys, but none worked. The last solution they have in mind was alcohol. "You are going to look 10 years older if you keep on a sad face as that" her friend said. "I'm not, it's just how my face looks like" they went to the bartender to get their drinks. She ordered rum and coke, her favorite. She took a sip as the hotness of the alcohol traveled down into her throat. Soon, she found herself sitting at one of the couch while her friends were dancing right in front of her. She stirred around her drink with heavy eyes, probably because of the alcohol, she thought to herself. She looked up into the dance floor and saw Junmyeon at a glance. Funny, that must be an illusion. Once, space felt the one that she used to be with him. People were laughing and drinking, everyone was having fun. She was drowned within her thoughts that she heard someone shouted "Junmyeon". Her eyes almost shot up to see where the sound came from. But then again, she realized there was no way such name could be heard within the loud music. Was it because of the alcohol that made her more delusional or the fact that she might miss him after months? She took another sip from the glass.

Earlier that night, her friend passed up the news that she has seen Junmyeon hanging with a woman she has never seen before. She wanted him to live a happy life but she didn't think that it might come as early as that. As soon as she said that, many thoughts run through her mind. What's that woman like? Has he taken her to places they used to go to?. She tried to shake her thoughts away and that's mainly the reason why she is getting another glass of rum and coke. She tried her best to chug the drink away, she didn't want to think how happy he's without her. It's that classic feeling where you want your ex-partner to live happily yet it saddened you the fact that they live their lives better than you do. Turned out, the alcohol didn't do much help. Her brain kept on running thoughts that exhaust her. Heart and brain were fighting, she didn't want to miss him, she tried her best, but in the end, she did miss him. That one person that used to light up her life. It's funny how she remembered what went wrong within their relationships. Junmyeon worked a lot, that so much time he spent working she even thought that he doesn't feel the same way as her anymore. He rarely got home earlier than 12 am, he left the house early too. That was the beginning of an end, so much more of it that she decided her void must be broken.

The next Saturday night, Baekhyun was throwing a birthday party at his house. Baekhyun's a friend of (Y/N) and Junmyeon. Of course, he would invite both of them. Baekhyun has known (Y/N) since they were in college but befriended her after she was dating Junmyeon. Since then, Baekhyun has been a good friend to her. Junmyeon made his way into Baekhyun's house where he could hear music was blazing from the house. He was greeted by Baekhyun who showed him the counter full of alcohol as he has known how much Junmyeon needed that. He swallowed down a shot of vodka, it gave burn and pleasing feeling at the same time. Secretly, Junmeyon was waiting for her to show up. But hours later, after many shots passed through his throat he never seen her came out of that white wooden door. Baekhyun watched the figure of his friend, he appeared from his back and sighed. "In case you are wondering, she couldn't make it. She said she's sick of eating too much spicy food from Thai restaurant yesterday" Baekhyun placed down his drink at the counter. Junmyeon was startled to hear his voice, he didn't know since when Baekhyun has become a mind reader. "I saw her last week while I was having a business meeting. She didn't seem to notice me but I could see her back. If I'm not wrong, she was having lunch with a guy?" Then it hit Junmyeon pretty hard. "I don't mean any harm but you need to be happy too" Baekhyun gave him pats in the shoulder and left.

Sure, he tried his best not to think of her when he's working, the problem seemed to reappear at times like this. At the time where he felt lonely at best. Junmyeon took more shots that night. His mind kept on repeating all of the good stuff they had done in the past. It's funny that he couldn't seem to remember the reason why they broke up, he remembered that one day before they broke up, they still had ramen together at her favorite place. He could even feel her wide smile warming up his body that night. It was a confusing one between vodka and her. He tried his best not to contact her again after the day they broke up. It was one of the requests she asked him that chilly evening. Months later, his sister even paid a visit to check up on her brother. Junmyeon lived in the city where his sister has been working abroad. She frowned a few times seeing the condition that her brother was in. Although he said that he's fine, she knew that he's not.

Back at Baekhyun's party, all of their good memories have flooded their ways back into his mind. He started to think, what went wrong between them. Sure, he has planned his life 3 to 5 years ahead, one of the plans includes him marrying her. She was one of the figures that kept him sane from working. Alcohol did generate some wild thoughts around his head. He even crossed his mind to call her, he wanted her to remind her so badly what went wrong between them. He knew that even when people asked him whether he has moved on or not, he would always give them a big smile with a nod yet inside he's falling apart. He's afraid that even if he's sober, he'll miss her again even more than the state he was in that night. And there he said it through the loud music, "I miss you".

The next day, Junmyeon woke up with probably one of the worst headaches he has ever felt within his entire life. The clock showed 9 am, he was able to make some good breakfast and took aspirin. There was a light pain burning through his chest, at a second he thought maybe that's because he was having too much drink. Then he realized, he still missed her, very much. He made his way into the bedroom to take his phone. The line was buzzing three times,

"Hello? Junmyeon" her voice was still as sweet as before.

(1/11)Oh my gosh yesss I'm glad that you like long messages too because I talk way too much 😂 (And yeah about my friend and just hanging out w/ her more that's exactly what I was thinking 😂) It's actually kind of funny bc just yesterday I was hanging out at her house and her younger brother needed to go to Walmart and I was like 'I've been meaning to go to Walmart, I'll take you' and ofc since I have a bluetooth radio adapter the whole drive I had my Spotify going with some quality k-bops, lol

2)And as we were driving I noticed him kind of jamming and I was like 'Oh my god Mickey do you actually like this???' And he was Like 'yeah, these are some good bops 👍' I was shooketh. I had to go home before I had the chance to show him any music videos but he says he's open to watching some with me next time I see him. One way or another I'm going to turn someone in my social circle into a kpop fan you mark my words ☝ and then maybe we can team up and try to work on his sister some more 😂

3)I only started first getting into kpop last June so I'm still very new, but it's definitely super frustrating how so many ppl act like it's an inherently bad or cringey genre of music just bc it's kpop! The stigma is ridiculous! I also started out with BTS (lol) and since they're pretty popular in the US at least I was able to be like 'See, this isn't just a niche thing, lots of people know abt and like this group' but of course my dad still says 'Just cause it's popular doesn't make it good'

4)And I'm like? You're a band teacher, you of all people should understand that music doesn't have to be in your native language (or even have lyrics) in order for you to enjoy it, but go off I guess... It's the same with one of my college friends. They make fun of me for liking kpop but this is coming from some who still treats March 22nd (the day My Chemical Romance broke up) as a day of mourning. Like, no tea no shade no pink lemonade, MCR was a good band nothing wrong with liking them.

5)But like if you're 22 and you still haven't grown out of your emo phase do you really have room to pick on other people for their music taste?  🤷 Anyway that's the person who follows my main that I didn't want to know I had a kpop sb. I think I made it around July. Tbh it was pretty dead for most of 2018. But like I said I've started using it way more since I recently revealed that it exists, lol. Especially since that good good Astro cb 👏💗😩 But honestly Astro is such a blessing

6)Idk how I lived so long w/o them. When I first got into kpop I was planning on just sticking to BTS since the reaction to me being into kpop was so volatile. I was like 'I'm only into one group, ppl already are negative about me liking kpop so I'm just gonna stick to this and not become a full on multifandom fan' and then in Nov I accidentally let myself fall in love with Monsta X and that plan was foiled. And realizing I wasn't gonna be able to stick to just one anymore opened the floodgates

7)And I was like okay in that case, let's just start getting into *all groups* Lol. My story of getting into Astro was actually bc of my best friend's roommate (can you tell I have like one friend and my whole social circle kinda revolves around her? Lol) so this roommate when she heard me being sad about having no kpop friends was like 'oh hey, I'm kinda into kpop' and it turns out she didn't like very many groups and was one of the ppl who blah blah BTS is overrated, which ya know isn't ideal8)But I was just really desperate to have someone to talk about kpop with. And Astro was her favorite so I was like, okay I'll get into them so that I have something to talk about with her! So I started watching some videos and I fell in love with them pretty much instantly! And I was real excited bc #1 now I can talk about kpop with someone! And #2 this group is actually amazing? Bonus! ... And then they got in a big fight about their living conditions and the roommate ended up moving out RIP

9)So that didn't work out, lol (Your story about finding them during that internship sounds amazing though! Haha) But yeah, so this is my first cb too! And although I love them w/ my whole heart and would have loved to have them in my life even sooner what an amazing cb to be your first! The concept was wonderful, the album was excellent, the visuals were to *die* for. They worked so hard and I'm so proud of them and I'm so happy we got to see their work come to fruition and get them a win 🤧🤧

Okay SO I’m very sorry I haven’t had the time to answer everything until now bc I’ve been busy studying for midterms and also I was a lil trashy today since my uni closed bc of freezing rain so I slept in but I’m glad that FINALLY everything got sent like damn tumblr you really don’t want us making friends huh. 

Yessssss I love the feeling of seeing someone else also get into the same interests! I’ve been pretty lucky in the sense that I grew up around mostly other asian americans, so kpop was never something that was considered super “weird,” like some people were into it and some weren’t but even if you weren’t you still would’ve been familiar with the more popular groups from when you were younger. Even now, I have a bunch of friends also into kpop (one of them is even my roommate) so tbh I was definitely the one in my friend group late to the party aha. Even my university hosts kpop nights at our bar and I’m pretty sure we have a kpop dance team as well? So tbh if I met someone new there’s probably like a 50% chance they’re into kpop or at least listen casually. 

Tbh I used to be a little bit judgy too but moreso because of the obscene amount of money I’ve seen some of my friends spend (no joke one of my friends has spent probably like $500+ on Loona stuff in the past month and a half and another friend bought like 5 copies of the same album for herself like damn idk how do you have that much money).

I also really don’t like it when people bash other people’s music tastes, since I feel like it’s something so personal? Idk but for a long time I used to be really self conscious about sharing my music with other people and even now I feel like that sometimes. For me after getting into BTS I kind of expected to get really into other groups since I was in Korea anyway and I was already listening to a lot of other artists casually. For me it started with NU’EST (fell for them immediately at the same concert that I saw Astro at) and then after was Astro, and then I just started slowly getting into other groups after that (even though I haven’t totally been able to get into Got7′s music they’re SO funny and I just kinda fell for their personalities  you know). 

I honestly think that they did such a wonderful job with this comeback too! I like seeing their concept evolve and mature but they’re not straying too far from their original cute concept so I feel like it’s a nice middle ground that’s very unique to them, you feel? Also I feel like the visuals especially and the execution of the whole plant concept was just done so well?? Even my friend who’s not in kpop was like “k idk who they are but that was the prettiest music video I’ve ever seen”. What are your favourite eras and songs? For me I’d have to say either the Spring Up or Baby era BUT right now my favourite song is probably Again/Should’ve Held On though tbh my mood and my tastes change like every few weeks loool. 

I have no idea why I tend to be most attracted to the dances rather than vocals or rap (maybe has to do with the fact that it’s something I’ve always wished I could do but have always been bad at lmao). But Astro’s stood out to me for the exact same reason! I just thought it was so funny seeing them all break character at the end because you really get to see how hard their choreos are and you get a glimpse of their personalities like damn, how can you not stan these dummies?

That’s really unfortunate that you won’t get to see them either :/ They’re also coming to the closest city to me but it’s on a Tuesday, but I *hypothetically* looked up flight prices and tried to see if I could get away with just missing a day of classes if I flew back in the middle of the night since I have some friends who did the same thing and drove down to Buffalo but I seem to have underestimated the size of New York State LMAO. But apparently my university’s too far from the airport so it’s “not realistic” (and also I’m hella broke from travelling to Taiwan and Japan while I was in Korea but that’s a minor issue ig). I hope we do both get a chance to see them live though! Who knows, after the success of this comeback I’m expecting a lot more cbs and world tours out of them ;)
