#I also got a wide toothed wooden comb to help avoid static and to help neaten up my wigs without losing too much of their shape!

Where do you get your wigs from? They always look so amazingly good and I wanna get one but worried it'll look like a horrible halloween costume wig.
Annabelles wigs are my favourite for vintage styles!
Lush wigs are fabulous for alternative styles!
Following the social medias of those companies and some of their models has also given me lots of ideas on how to get them looking more natural/less costume-like!
I also find a few pretty cool ones just looking at synthetic wigs on amazon in the £20-40 price range??? Just check reviews! And be ready to make some adjustments to the wig irl. Lots of youtube videos on making wigs look more lifelike!

Switching to Wooden Hair Tools
Tumblr media
Check out my new hair brush and wide-toothed comb replacements from The Body Shop! I’ve been in need of some new ones since I’ve had the same brush and comb for many, many years. Wooden ones appealed to me since they’re known to cause less friction and static, help distribute oils better, and are safer to use on wet hair. Let’s face it! I’m not going to stop coming my hair while it’s wet. If I didn’t, my hair would be a hot tangled mess!
The brush handle and pins are made of bamboo sticking out of a rubber pad, while the comb I think is made of sandalwood. The cool thing about this company is that in addition to using natural ingredients and avoiding animal testing, they also use sustainable and ethical business practices by doing community trade and limiting a negative footprint on the earth. Even better: There is a brick and mortar The Body Shop near me! No shipping involved, woohoo! I actually have several other products on my wish list from them.
Now these are what I’m replacing.

These guys served their purpose, but I didn’t know what was wrong until I tried the wooden ones. Less hair pulling and less static! Notice how there is more space between the pins and teeth of my new products? I’m sure that is probably a lot better for curly hair too. We shall see how my hair does with the wood from now on.
Also, as a side note, I FINALLY got my new shampoo and conditioner from Acure Organics! I’m so happy to move on from the soap nut shampoo and try something new. I love the smell and I love all the beneficial oils in these products: argan oil, seabuckthorn oil, sweet almond oil, and more.  Now check out this list: Vegan, Gluten Free, Sulfate Free, Paraben Free, Phthalate Free, Cruelty Free, Petroleum Free, PEG Free, Synthetic Fragrance Free, Silicone Free, Won’t Clog Pores, 100% Biodegradable. Now that’s something I can get behind!
