I have a lot of complimentary things to say about rustaceans but one strong point against them is that they love love love to use absolutely bleeding edge features that you have to jump through several hoops to access without mentioning it at all.

It's better now than it used to be, when I tried to get into rust in like 2018 I remember multiple projects using different non-stable branches off of nightly because the developer wanted to use some specific new language feature.

#computer stuff #considered writing my own IRC library and decided that I actually want this to work since it's going to do moderation #I am learning about async and it is Convoluted #the runtime idea was cute but it does not seem to have panned out well
