Is tbhk your fav manga? If not what is it?

I do love tbhk and it is among my fav manga when I see how much I talk about it ^^ I do have a fixation on it, but I know some manga I read had better written plots than tbhk :00

hmmmm my fav mangas :00 it is a hard question. I've read a lot of manga when I was a kid (the classics, like DB or One Piece) but I honestly don't have that much which stood out for me x')) especially because I have a really hard time with fan service and how female characters are written now ahah 

And I like absurd humor as much as I like compicated plots too x’))

Mangas I adore since I am a kid

Doraemone my beloved (I have so many shirts and merch from this, it’s insane) and Keroro, which is so so stupid (there is a strange fanservice in Keroro? But honestly I didn’t see it when I was a kid ahah)

Doraemon is a really good manga for a kid, with super creative ideas and stupid interactions :D It is mostly for kids but it those two still have a special place for me dhskjds

I ADORE YOTSUBA

I’ve been reading this manga since a really long time too and it is adorable and stupid I like it so much :DDD Yotsuba is adorable and a lot of my humor is coming from this manga tbh

The only series I am purchasing rn are tbhk, witch hat atelier and Heaven’s design team :DD

Kamome Shirahama is an absolute queen dshdkjs and I adore the story, characters and the artstyle which is absolutely insane! This take on magic is everything! If I had to recommend a manga I would go for this one! I do know it is pretty popular but there is a reason dhskdhskj

Heaven’s design team is so stupid and has no right being this pretty :DD If you want a cool manga to read, where you see designers having artblocks, the strangest ideas ever and stupid characters of all ages, while learning how animals work this is perfect :DDD

Gokushufudou is the best manga if you wanna laugh a lot x’) The art has no reason being this good again and the concept is hilarous :DD

 Im great priest Imhotep have a special place in my heart :DD 

Really basic shonen plot, but the characters are funny, the art is cool and there is a lot to learn about egyptian mythology ^^ (and I adore Makoto Morishita ahah she is so funny and talented) 

 Land of the lustrous is amazing too! (I haven’t read it in a while, because of the hiatus but the art is dhskjdhsj) A really original concept with a lot of good plot twist and characters ^^ 

The anime is really cool to watch too 

I really really like Jiro Taniguchi’s works! His writing style is really chill, not that much is happening, it’s just life in its simplest ways. And his water colors and drawings are insane, he is really good at doing backgrounds.

(if you can check the animation movie ‘le sommet des dieux’ too which is one of his manga it is incredible dshjds)

I really like the manga for Nausicaa. More violent and with deeper meaning than the movie (which I absolutely adore) and you can appreciate Miyazaki’s manga art :DDD

I am a big fan of Naoki Urasawa’s works too :DDD

I am reading 20th century boys rn But I really liked Pluto and Monster :DDD (Ig there are some triggers for these mangas? idk) I used to read astroboy as kid so his darker take on it is really nice to see :DDD and the plots are really greatly written, it is even hard sometimes to follow what’s happening :’DD

Prepare for endless ranting. And as a certain someone says: さあショーの始まりだ わ!

I. Takagi Wataru

The Babygirl and Malewife of My Heart Personal Special Tag: #takagi is a good man

Points that I feel need a little elaboration:

I am so normal about them: I use the word "normal" as a synonym for "utterly obsessed with" and "absolutely love and adore". (I don't like the word in itself, hence, the only context I use it in, is this. But that is another story.)

*puts them in a salad spinner*: as in, the salad spinner is my brain, and he keeps rotating in it at high centrifugal force.

Canon isn't real if I don't look at it and That's a solid design right there: Detco Canon is... As much as I love it, I think we can agree it has its shortcomings/issues, and one of them is coming up. These two points go hand in hand at this moment because LOOK AT HIM!!! LOOK AT HIM!!! THIS MAN IS A BABY!!! LOOK AT HIM, HE'S PERFECT!!! THE SPIKY HAIR!!! THE SHAPES!!! THE COLOUR PALETTE!!! HE'S SO CUTE!!

I resonate with this particular video: his new design in the anime (partly thanks to the general Square-and-Pointy-fication) is just... THEY HAD THE PERFECT MAN. IT'S A CRIME. Bless that he is at least still cute in the manga, even if not the same way as in the early anime. The sharp cheekbones and soft looking hair have their charm.

My point is: THIS!!!! MAN!!! IS!!! A BABY!!!!

Literally I would kiss them and I want to BITE them: he makes me go FERAL with LOVE, and makes me feel like I want to gnaw on something or eat a whole fridge or scream endlessly into a pillow. I wouldn't do it to HIM (I'll leave that to Satou Miwako), but generally, the feeling is there. (Okay, I'll be honest, I would totally give him forehead, cheek, or hair kisses.)

To close his section, have one of my favourite bits about this Baby Of A Man. That poll was absolutely right about him, THE ULTIMATE BABYGIRL (and Malewife TM).

II. Kuroba Kaito/Kaitou KID

LOL I DIDN'T EXPECT TO GET A BINGO, EVEN WITH THE FREE SPACE HAHA

Some points are the same as for Takagi, but here is elaboration on the ones that don't match:

Bastard, A Beast Unleashed and They didn't get bullied enough: let's be real. He's an Absolute Menace. And I sort of love that about him. Highly competent (competency makes me go weak), and if that is not scary (and hot) I don't know what. And sometimes he also goes too far (lifting skirts is not okay at all, Kaito) and needs someone to put a leash on him (or kick a soccer ball at him/chase him in a classroom). I feel that sometimes he needs a bit of bullying a challenge, to think about things. And again, honesty: I love seeing him suffer a bit, I love his Panic Moments LOL. Not in a mean way. But I also love how kind he is; the baseball chapter in the MK manga has my heart, and the Clock Tower Heist, and the Red Tear chapter... Not to mention the Nightmare arc. He cares about people and making others happy. I feel I went on a tangent here. Onto the bastard bit: he CAN BE SUCH A BASTARD AND I LOVE THAT ABOUT HIM TOO. Two of my favourite bits of Bastardry from him include 1) HOW HE DISGUISED AS RAN AND HOW HE BAITED SHINICHI AT THE VERY END OF THAT ENCOUNTER and 2) THE WAY HE SENDS SHINICHI CAREENING IN THE SIDECAR LIKE IT'S NOTHING (but also Shinichi getting right back at him and setting fire to the fckin fuel.) Pure Bastard Energy.

I want their gender: I love the way he is just so free-spirited about how he dresses/disguises. And I love the thought of him and Aoko doing outfit swaps (I blame that competition in MK for these. Also look at these delightful posts on the topic).

Canon isn't real if I don't look at it: I have... issues, with canon, you could say. Like the way he has no support system, especially bothers me. I would like to see his character treated with more care (be it MK or DetCo). I live for good character development, and I crave that for him.

III. Australian Animal of Choice: Koala

Fun fact: I've been in love with koalas ever since I got a keyholder plushie from relatives in Australia when I was like... in kindergarten? Or early elementary? Also don't worry, *puts on sunglasses* I wouldn't have mentioned animals, if I thought I couldn't work with them.

Elaboration is needed here I feel.

I am so normal about them: I'm not as obsessed as I used to be but I'm eternally fond of koalas. Did you know their fingerprints are so similar to us they could be mistaken for human fingerprints? Or how they spend most of their time sleeping because the eucalyptus they consume is toxic? Or how they can actually swim well? Or how they are literally surviving by being Dumb As Shit because Being Dumb Saves Energy? Yeah, I'm totally normal about them.

*projects onto them like a mf* and I want their gender: Oh to be a koala, just existing, sleeping, sometimes waking up to eat some eucalyptus, then going right back to sleep. I want that.

That's a solid design right there: HAVE YOU SEEN THEM? SO FLUFFY LOOKING!!! WITH BIG CLAWS!!! THE BIG NOSE!!! SO SHAPED!!! NOT TO MENTION THE EARS!!!

They are so silly and They Sure Do Exist: how did this animal even come into existence? Weird lil creatures. THEY ARE JUST SO SILLY. THE NOISES THE MAKE. Like oh my god.

Literally I would kiss them: THEY JUST LOOK SO SOFT, HOW DO YOU EXPECT ME NOT TO BURY MY FACE IN THE FUR?

A Beast Unleashed: another MENACE OF NATURE. You cannot let him roam free, he finds trouble like it's Breathing. Also love it when he goes ballistic. Or when he shows how competent he is. Like GOD. HE'S AMAZING, and he's a danger to criminals and himself, mostly.

Everyone else if wrong about them: not EVERYONE, just... some people. We agreed with a friend that some of our issues in portrayal lies with the fandom sort assigning him traits that Hakuba has, but not Shinichi (Hakubification). Of course, people can have their fun with it, but it's not for me and have my own opinions on the matter.

Canon isn't real if I don't look at it: again, DetCo has issues. Like the lack of continuity/ erased character development, or not bringing up issues ever again, and the like. Early DetCo was GOOD at these, and I miss those times.

That's a solid design right there and I fuck with this aesthetic so hard: HE IS!!!! SO SHAPED!!!!! SO ROUND!!! (or at least used to be) THE GENTLE CURVES OF HIS FACE!!! THE SILLY HAIR!!!! NOT TO MENTION HIS FCKIN WARDROBE!!!! I'M OBSESSED WITH HIM!!! Also, I have a huge thing for blue eyes and dark hair combination, not to mention the glasses... I'm fckin weak for glasses... god. He just hits all the right spots in my heart and brain. (Not to mention his personality, I WANT TO CRY I LOVE HIM SO MUCH-)

They didn't get bullied enough: I live for others teasing Gremlin Child. It's not quite bullying (never HURT HIM FOR REAL, I'LL CRY), but he needs to be TEASED MORE FOR SURE. I guess Bastardry also fits into this, that's good too.

SQUEAK: sometimes he is just so DUMB I want to SQUISH HIM HARD OR SHAKE HIM. I LOVE HIM, I SO DO, even if he is an idiot at times. God. I love him.

Nitro+Chiral (hypothetical cos it’s not cannon apparently) timeline AKA the periodical order of each game events

Since nobody did this before as far as I’ve seen in this commmunity and because I am very bored and forgot airpods at home so I could watch playthrough of TGC (last game I have yet to see) I am gonna try and attemp to periodically list time settings of all games. Warning- this is just my own interpretation on how I would it - since I was 90 % sure all games take place in 1 big universe. Also it’s been a while since I’ve played these games so my memory might be clouded. So take it with grint of the salt and let’s do this:

1. Sweet pool

Time setting: Japan, urban area Tokyo? probably early to mid 2000s - no earlier than 1990 and no later than 2010 (assumption based on those flip up mobile phones)

Reason: We are starting with sweet pool simply because no magic (well if you don’t count whole Adam and Eve equals new race of perfect humans shit),no major technological development or dystopia shit or war has happened yet there. We only have some crazy occultism which should already warn us N+C is not going to play with us fair and square (as reality is cruel). Ironically, NC released sweet pool first lol

2. Dramatical Murder

Time setting: Midorijima, fictional island, Japan, 20XX

Reason: Dmmd already takes place in some neomodernistic era since the presence of Allmates, Coils and other technological advacements such as robots (Clear and Alphas), games such as Rhyme and Rib, whatever Akishima is carrying - plus they have ID chips in their bodies. Yet it seems like it is not advaced enough for Aoba to wear anything but headphones (well airpods were not invented yet at the time of game’s release so we can’t have anything). Now you can argue DMMD could happen AFTER TGC, after country was restored after WW3 but we have no direct proof of war even taking place before events of DMMD as far as I can recall at least

3. Togainu no Chi

Time setting: post-war Tokyo, Toshima ward, 20XX

Reason: Shit has really go down with the world of NitroChiral. In DMMD you don’t see young people depressed like at all (or simply generations moved on and mostly recovered and accepted their lives - again we simply don’t know as mainland was only briefly mentioned in Noiz’s and Koujaku’s drama CDs). Most of teens and young adults just wanna get high or/and fight and it is not all shine and rainbows with adults either as we have an evidence that most adults are unable to take care of these kids either (at least two characters experienced abuse, one with alcohol problem and other is just ignored altogether). All of this as a result of military training they couldn’t put to use - it is mentioned Tokyo (and Japan as a whole) is gonna recover in few years time but for now East and West are divided. I reckon if Dmmd happened AFTER all this then many years must have passed (at least one decade) and then our last game would have to take place which brings us to

4. Lamento

Time setting: Sisa- No humans, some forests, villages, remains of human inhabitation only in one capital we know about, probably located at place Japan used to be. The beginning period of nekos ruling lands is unknown but definitely at least one millenia after humans, proof of existance is demons who used to be humans and one and only sorcerer (well after everything from previous games it should be given cats can use magic when they are fused with cat god and humans who probably have magic brains divided into Desire, Reason and maybe Restraint or something) - it’s very likely that Sisa are more similar to humans not only because of their appareance - it’s just that due to cat genes their instics (Desire section) tends to rule over their Reason

Reason: should be pretty obvious - this is post-apocalyptic “fantasy” world ruled by Cats that is now also on verge of destruction thanks to our beloved Leaks (but honestly Leaks is my fav antagonist of them all he is very well written and I can at least symphatize just a little with him although it does not excuse his actions just like wih other antagonists’ actions from other games)

Edit: Slow Damage: Time setting: Shinkoumi, 20xx, very fucked up piece of land, after Japan fucked up Olympics (this is prob world without covid??), Japan’s recenssion started (haha as if our world isn’t in one rn) and made one entertaiment town into full blow shithole where yakuza rules as kings (and somehow people on mainland think they are construction company). A decade later even yakuza “monarchy” starts to stop working (divided into two sections both equally shitty) and now you have poverty everywhere you look but hey at least our mc Towa has cool scars and fucked up method for painting his very cool art Ig (he srsly needed his LIs does not that matter who cos this boi is traumatised and prob most fucked up on NCH Mc list here ilh agavahzgbw). Oh ya and humans have Smoke which is like aura?? I wonder how that is linked to our big three emotions but it definitely plays a role in how Smoke shows when human experiences emotions and various situations

reason: after playing two routes from SD I can safely say that timeline would be perfect for few years before TGC (tension between Shinkoumi mainland just beg for war conflict and I don’t think any ending would make it better) Not sure where DMMD would fit but Ig it doesn’t matter - personally I see it take place after SD. I am not going to number it again so I am puting SD as 1.1 on list because hypothetically it’s like section between two extremes war and high tech era (at least when it comes to setting) - in other words SD takes place before TGC and after TGC we get DMMD
