rewatched sonic 3 last night, still gets me gripping my plushie's hand entire length. have some studies and doodles I forgot to include in the last art dump

#get yourself a partner that looks at you the same way this hedgehog looks at his sister #the movie redraws might not seem to have anything interesting in them at first but in fact i was blending the colors manually #like. going all around the color circle just to figure out how to blend colors myself without picking them from the screencaps lol #my favourite art activity #and i wasnt using any blending/soft brush tools #every. single. strand. of. fur. drawn. manually.#it felt like drawing an entire rendered picture with just dots. not very sane of me #i also messed around with ear positions because i swear they made them too stiff and expressionless #... or i like making them over-expressive. oh well #sonic #sonic 3 #shadow the hedgehog #maria robotnik #intrigued by his fur having blue highlights in the movie #also im pretty sure both sonic and shadow have the ear tufts there??#that one posts only highlights shadows tufts but now i noticed sonics fur also forming ones so idk now #now onto checking polish dubbing again because i have no idea whether the 'ultimate lifeform' line drops there or not anymore #i was convinced they didnt call shadow an ultimate lifeform at all in the movie because i couldnt recall hearing it

toby fox and co youve done it again

#ingi post!#40+ hrs in deltarune and I JUST finished one complete run (ch1-4 no mercy + snowgrave) and have already started another (ch1-4 pacifist)#seeing the consequences of ch2 snowgrave play out in ch4 literally had my jaw drop at the viscerality of it #also just like. with ch1-2 deltarune i felt it was already on the same quality level as undertale but ch3-4 rlly surpassed my expectations #by like *a lot* a lot #3D!!! was not expecting 3D stuff at all!!#and we have still 3 more chapters to go?? holy shit #ch3-4 rlly just set it in for me that deltarune as a game is going to be a much larger and more ambitious game than undertale #anw this run was literally the first time i beat jevil ever (woo!)#second time for me to beat snowgrave spamton neo (literally was asking myself how i beat this guy the first time from a couple of yrs ago #while i fought him again)#and i died to ch3 secret boss' final attack a lot before realizing i was doing the whole fight wrong lol #fav boss fight that i did in the entire run was actually prob ch4 secret boss (in the newest dark world)#(havent done the other one since i fought the darkners in ch3)#loved the vibes of that entire fight #also the jumpscare (dread) of having hard undertale bullet patterns show up in ch3-4 😃 (loved the iteration in the undyne fight mechanics)#and the jumpscare (positive) that is sans deltarune #loved the bits where he showed up 😁 esp at the end of ch4 (i like that they put that whole scene at the end after *gestures at 2nd half #of ch4*)#not looking forward to a megalovania 2 (or similar no mercy fight from another character) if thats in the cards at all tho #anw quickfire thoughts #loved the new lightner dark world designs! unique but still evokes the vibe of their undertale counterparts #what the HELL is the song coming from across the lake??#its raining somewhere else!!! might be the first undertale melody to properly show up in deltarune iirc #i bet the fandom is having fun with battle throuple (happy pride month) shenanigans and whatever happened with spamton and 📺 lol #dess is def in that creepy shelter now (for how long tho? smthn mightve happened to her that makes her no longer recogniseable [to others #and/or herself])#the fact that 📺 is PRE-RENDERED 3D GRAPHICS?? #as i'm going through this refresher in tandem with reading weir's new novel...#she actually writes shelton as being the one that managed to get her mother's letters to her into her hands #even for fiction that feels...far fetched #ostensibly someone had to be getting her letters from chapuys as well; even chapuys reports at times #that he doesn't know how it's possible she's getting letters out to him #but i doubt it was either of the boleyn aunts here #nor margaret bryan; anne's maternal aunt #even the interpretation that anne was a nonentity by this point and had no clout; basically #would not bear this out; if they didn't fear anne then they certainly would've had reason to fear henry #and i doubt they would've circumvented what he ordered #until after jan 1536 (where shelton is allowing visitors from chapuys bcus she's been sent gifts) this just does not seem to be the case #melita thomas #(also had weir been more faithful to primary sources. then this interpretation would mean shelton threw this chamber woman under #the bus...which she did; but in her rendering it would be to save her OWN skin #rather than at great personal risk which is what she #portrays; for the construction a sympathetic character in lady shelton)#i also think there's a question of agency on this unnamed maid's part that i don't really ever seen given space...#insofar as the hierarchy of privilege etc #was she actually willing to risk her income to do this? that's generally how it's portrayed #but it's just as possible that she felt constrained to do so bcus mary; despite her demoted status; was obviously her superior #even if not her employer #not to mention after being dismissed for such a reason; it's not like she was going to get a reccomendation to another household #it's fair to talk about how both coa and mary were placed in these hostile environments but the hostility and tension #those placed as their servants (not those that had chosen to be there; like elizabeth darrell for coa)#is again...not given the same space; generally #it was probably very frustrating to serve two highly privileged women that refused to answer or look at or acknowledge them #because they were addressing them as the law required.#you can imagine the eye-rolls of the servants which coa called 'gaolers'. since. yk.#a person of a servant's status was likely to have a friend or relative that spent time in an *actual* jail cell. if not themselves .
