#I know a lot of people have already talked about the chloe ep 4 thing
something about how ep 3 of lis1/lis2 ends with Max/Daniel using their powers in risky, extreme ways to do what they think is the right thing for Chloe/Sean, only for things to go sideways to an extent that leaves Chloe/Sean with a permanent physical disability. the main difference being that Max can erase the entire thing an hour into the next episode, while the Diaz brothers (both brothers) have to actually deal with the physical and psychological fallout from the incident and their respective feelings on it for the rest of the game.
like, what Max inadvertently does to Chloe is a smaller part of a larger plot involving the threats to Arcadia Bay and Rachel's disappearance--what Daniel inadvertently does to Sean is the plot all the way through. it's why he flees in a guilty traumatized panic (even if he can't remember exactly what he did until he sees Sean again) and Sean has to find him again while dealing with his new disability, thus setting up everything that happens in the fourth and final episode.
it's so clear in lis2 ep 4 that Daniel's guilt and trauma are distorting his perspective and making him vulnerable to Lisbeth, leading into his self-destructive quest for purification as an "angel." Max's own guilt is visible from the inside looking out, shaping her tangled efforts to save (or "save," depending on how you feel about the whole euthanasia shitshow) Chloe from her altered reality. meanwhile, Sean has to save Daniel from the longterm psychological effects of what happened during the heist before he falls too deep under Lisbeth's spell.
this bleeds into the way that both ep 4s are episodes about deciding whether to take a life (singular, unlike the mass death you deal with in ep 5). only lis1 deals with Max deciding how her guilt and love for Chloe should affect her decision about Chloe's euthanasia request, while Sean and Daniel are confronted with Lisbeth taking advantage of Daniel's guilt to abuse him and almost kill Sean, and have to decide whether to kill her out of wrath (because that "it was her or us" excuse is pretty much bullshit) and love for each other.
it isn't a question--at least not in this episode--of whether Sean's going to be allowed to live with how his life and body have been altered by Daniel's accidental actions, but how he lives. not to mention that while Max's decision about killing Chloe here may not affect her final decision to kill Chloe or Arcadia in ep 5, Sean's decision about killing Lisbeth/letting her die absolutely shapes how he and Daniel will live with themselves and each other and the world around them at his own final decision.
it's all just two dramatically different ways to deal with the same question of superpowers slipping out of control, and I don't know how to be normal about it.

Tumblr PP for Ukraine Let’s all help.
Author’s Summary: This fic is set 7 months after the end of Pitch Perfect 3. Beca is in L.A. working for DJ Khaled. Chloe is still in New York waiting for the fall semester to start Vet school. Beca’s 25th birthday was coming up and the label is throwing a huge bash to celebrate Beca’s birthday and the release of her EP. And all the Bellas are coming to L.A.
Beca is excited which is a rarity these days. She had put together four songs that she was really proud of for her EP which the label was releasing on her birthday. They were planning a huge birthday/EP release party and, with Fat Amy’s newfound wealth footing the bill, all the Bellas were coming to L.A. for a long weekend.
“When does Chloe’s plane get in?” Beca asked Amy for what felt like the millionth time.
“About 4:30,” Amy says with a roll of her eyes. “I have a car scheduled to drive you to the airport to pick up Chloe and bring you both back here. That way you two can get reacquainted in the backseat if you know what I mean.”
“Ew, gross,” Beca muttered. “I can’t believe how nervous I am. I haven’t really seen any of the Bellas, except you, since I left France.”
“Are you sure you’re not just nervous about seeing one particular Bella?” Amy asked, wiggling her eyebrows suggestively.
“I’m beginning to regret telling you about our confessing our feelings to each other,” Beca said.
“Are you still planning to ask her about moving to LA to be with you?” Amy asked. “You have all the information for Vet schools in the area, too, right?”
“Yep. It’s all part of the plan,” Beca said with a big smile. Her smile falters a bit. “Do you think she still has feelings for me? I mean I know we kind of said we really liked each other in more than a best friend way and kissed. But we haven’t really had a chance to talk more about it. And she did kind of have that thing with Chicago when we were on the tour.”
“She said he was just a fling,” Amy said. “So you have nothing to worry about. I think you’re going to have the best birthday weekend ever.”
“Good,” Beca said. “I need to get to the studio. I should be back here a little after six with Chloe. If the Bellas get hungry, order Chinese or something and just get me and Chloe our usual order.”
“You got it,” Amy said as Beca headed out the door.
~ WHEN THE GREEN-EYED MONSTER COMES A-KNOCKIN’~
The day dragged by for Beca and she must have checked the clock a thousand times before Max, Fat Amy’s driver, texted to let her know he was waiting outside for her. She grabbed all her stuff, including the flowers she picked up at lunchtime for Chloe, and ran out her office door. She yelled to Theo that she’d see him tomorrow night and rushed out to meet Max.
They made it to the airport, and Beca jumped out of the car and ran into the terminal. She checked the arrivals screen and squealed a little when she saw that Chloe’s plane had already landed. She made her way to the baggage claim knowing that Chloe would have had to check her bags because the redhead did not pack light even if she was only going to be gone for a weekend.
The airport was busy and there were a lot of people. Beca weaved her way through the crowd towards baggage claim. The smile never left her face even with all the pushing and shoving she had to endure. She could see the baggage claim sign and suddenly there was a gap in the crowd. She stopped and couldn’t help but smile when she saw the redhead. Just twenty more feet and she’d be wrapped up in a famous Beale hug.
She hadn’t even taken a step when the smile dropped from her face and tears pricked her eyes. Chloe hadn’t come alone. A man walked up and put his arms around her shoulders. A man Beca recognized as the soldier that Chloe said was just a fling when they were on the USO Tour. Chloe brought Chicago with her.
Beca swallowed the lump that was in her throat and quickly turned and left the terminal. She found Max and told him that Chloe was at baggage claim and he should go find her. She showed him Chloe’s picture and walked away with her head down, fighting back the tears. She threw the flowers into the first trash bin she came to and grabbed a cab to take her to the studio.
~ WHEN THE GREEN-EYED MONSTER COMES A-KNOCKIN’~
Aubrey, Stacie, Jessica, Ashley, and Cynthia Rose were sitting in Beca’s living room talking with Fat Amy while they waited for Beca and Chloe.
“Beca said she was talking to her this weekend,” Fat Amy insisted as she talked to Aubrey.
“I can’t wait for those two to be together for real,” Stacie said. “Beca told me she confessed to Chloe while they were in France and Chloe said she felt the same. And that they shared a kiss.”
“Chloe told me the same,” Aubrey said with a smile.
“I thought Chloe was into that Chicago guy,” Ashley said.
“Chloe said he was just a fling,” Jessica said.
“Beca was so excited this morning,” Fat Amy said. “I’ve never seen her smile like that before. Bhloe is finally happening guys.”
“You mean BeChloe,” CR said, causing everyone to laugh.
It was the same ‘argument’ they always had with Fat Amy insisting Beca and Chloe’s ship name was Bhloe. Amy’s phone pinged with a message and she quickly read it.
“Hey, guys,” Amy said, causing them to all look at her. “Beca just texted that she was at the studio and not to wait up. She said to tell you all she’d see you tomorrow.”
“Nooo,” Stacie whined. “I wanted to have a Bellas night tonight and let loose. It won’t be the same without her.”
“Is Chloe with her?” Aubrey asked.
Fat Amy’s phone pinged again and she read the text. Her smile fell from her face and she looked a bit angry.
“Oh, no,” Fat Amy said. “Chloe, what the hell are you doing?”
“What’s wrong?” Aubrey asked.
“Looks like Bhloe isn’t happening,” Fat Amy said harshly. “According to Beca, Chloe AND Chicago should be here any minute.”
“What?!?!” five voices ask in unison.
Just then there was a knock on the door. Six heads whipped around to look at the door. No one moved until there was a second knock. Fat Amy looked sadly around at the other girls and plastered on a fake smile as she went to answer the door.
~ WHEN THE GREEN-EYED MONSTER COMES A-KNOCKIN’~
Beca sat alone in her studio just fiddling with the knobs and bars on the soundboard. The tears had stopped and now there was just a dull ache in her chest. Her head snapped up when there was a light knocking on the door. She wiped her face with her hands and went to see who it was. She was surprised to see Demi Lovato standing there with a smile on her face and a laptop bag over her shoulder.
“Lovato,” Beca said. “What are you doing here?”
“I was just working on my album when someone said you were up here,” Demi said. “Just thought I’d say hi.”
“Come on in,” Beca said and stepped aside.
“So, how are you?” Demi asked as she sat on the sofa lining the wall across from where Beca was sitting at the soundboard.
“Um, fine,” Beca muttered. “I’m good.”
“Beca,” Demi said. “I know we’ve only known each other for a few months, but I call bullshit. What’s wrong?”
Beca looked at Demi and couldn’t stop the tear that escaped and rolled down her face. She reached up to wipe it away but Demi was already kneeling in front of her, using the pad of her thumb to wipe away the tear.
“Hey,” Demi said softly. “Come sit with me and tell me what’s going on. I’m a really good listener.”
Beca nodded her head and let Demi lead her to the sofa. The two sat and Beca sniffled a bit and then spent the next half hour telling Demi all about Chloe. From their first meeting to the last time she spoke to her in France to seeing her at the airport with Chicago.
“So, Chloe brought this Chicago guy to L.A. with her without you knowing he was coming?” Demi asked.
“Yep,” Beca said softly.
“And Chloe is staying at your place for the weekend?” Demi asked.
Beca just nodded and wiped another tear away.
“Where is Chicago staying?” Demi asked.
“I don’t know,” Beca said. “I guess he’ll be staying with Chloe at my place.”
“And you’re jealous because he’s here with her?”
“Well, yeah,” Beca said. “She said he was just a fling and now she’s bringing him to a Bellas weekend reunion in honor of MY birthday. How else should I feel?”
“Maybe you should talk to her and find out why he’s here with her,” Demi said.
“I can’t stand in the way of her being happy,” Beca said. “Besides, he’s so much better for her than I am.”
~ WHEN THE GREEN-EYED MONSTER COMES A-KNOCKIN’~
Fat Amy opened the door to find a smiling Chloe. “Hey, Chloe.”
“That’s all the greeting I get?” Chloe asked as she grabbed Amy in a hug. “I’ve missed you.”
Fat Amy patted Chloe on the back. “Yeah, yeah,” Fat Amy said. “Missed you, too.”
Fat Amy pulled away from Chloe and walked back inside the apartment, leaving a confused Chloe standing at the door.
Chloe finally moved when Chicago came up behind her, carrying their luggage. She walked in and squealed again when she saw the other Bellas there.
“Oh, my God,” Chloe exclaimed, running over to the girls. “I didn’t know you all were going to be here tonight.”
She hugged Ashley, Jessica, CR, and Stacie. She saved Aubrey for last.
“Brey,” Chloe gushed. “I’ve missed you so much.”
“I’ve missed you, too, Chlo,” Aubrey said, returning the hug and pulling back.
Chloe looked around. “Where’s Beca?”
“Hey, girls,” Chicago said, joining the group. “It’s good to see you all again.”
Fat Amy picked up the luggage and started carrying it toward the stairs.
“Follow me,” Amy told Chicago.
“Wait,” Chicago said, taking both suitcases. “This one’s mine and can stay right here.”
He set the one suitcase down and looked at Amy. Fat Amy nodded and led the way upstairs with Chicago following behind her. Chloe watched them leave with a smile.
“Seriously, guys,” Chloe asked as she turned back to the girls. “Where’s Beca?”
“What the hell is wrong with you?” Stacie spits out at Chloe.
“Stacie, don’t,” Aubrey said.
“Does someone want to fill me in on what’s happening right now?” Chloe asked, looking around at everyone.
“We were just going to ask you the same thing,” CR said.
“What?” Chloe asked, confused.
“I’m beginning to think you failing Russian Lit for four years,” Ashley said with a bit of sadness, “is because you really are that dumb.”
“Excuse me?” Chloe asked, getting angry. “What the hell is that supposed to mean?”
“Chloe,” Aubrey said, trying to be the voice of reason. “Why is Chicago with you?”
“Yeah, Chloe,” Stacie said, stepping toward the redhead. “Why is the guy you said was ‘just a fling’ in Beca’s apartment? You know, Beca the girl you told you loved, and then sealed it with a kiss. The girl who, right now, is hiding away from you, from all of us, because she saw you and him at the airport together.”
Chloe chuckled, realizing what the girls must be thinking.
“It’s not what you think,” Chloe said. “He’s been transferred back to the States and was coming to LA see his sister. We ran into each other at JFK when he was waiting for the same plane I was. He was hoping to see Beca while he was here, so I invited him to come with me from the airport. If I had known she was coming to the airport, he could have seen her there and then gone on to his sister’s house.”
“So, you two aren’t together?” Stacie asked.
“Nope,” Chloe said. “I want to be with Beca.”
Amy and Chicago came back downstairs. Amy was laughing at something and looked at the girls.
“Beca’s jealous for no reason,” Fat Amy said. “It’s just a coincidence that these two are here together. Chicago just explained everything.”
“We know,” Aubrey said. “Chicago, if you can you should stick around. I don’t think Beca will be too late. I’m sure she’ll be happy to see you, once she knows you’re not actually here for Chloe.”
~ WHEN THE GREEN-EYED MONSTER COMES A-KNOCKIN’~
Demi held Beca while she cried more. Beca finally sniffled and sat up.
“I’m sorry to be such a mess,” Beca said, grabbing some tissues and wiping her face.
“Don’t be sorry,” Demi said. “I don’t even know Chloe and I already hate her.”
Beca just chuckled. “I don’t think I’ve ever heard anyone say they hated Chloe Beale.”
“Okay, maybe I don’t actually hate her,” Demi said. “But, I’m not very fond of her right now.”
The two singers sat in silence for a few minutes. Demi was the first to speak up.
“I’ve written this song and I think you should record it,” Demi said. “I think it fits you better.”
“You know what, I need a distraction,” Beca said. “Let’s hear it.”
Demi pulled a jump drive and her laptop out of her bag. She opened her laptop and plugged in the jump drive. She found the song she wanted and pressed play. Beca listened intently and started nodding. Beca stopped the music and looked at Demi.
“Do you have the lyrics written down?” Beca asked.
“Of course,” Demi said with a smile and pulled out the sheet music.
“Do you mind if I strip this down and remove your vocals?” Beca asked. “I’d like to give it a shot.”
“Go for it,” Demi said. “I love watching you work.”
~ WHEN THE GREEN-EYED MONSTER COMES A-KNOCKIN’~
A short while later, Beca came out of the recording booth.
“Thanks for letting me hear the song,” Beca said excitedly. “It sounds good but I don’t think it’s right for me.”
“You sounded great on it,” Demi said. “How do you feel about the lyrics?”
“Everything was perfect,” Beca said with a smile. “The lyrics, the music. It just all comes together really well.”
“Yeah,” Demi said. “It is really good.”
“I agree,” Beca said. “And, it’s going to be a hit. For you.”
Beca sat back with a sad smile and looked over Demi.
“Come on, mopey,” Demi said. “We’re going out.”
“I don’t want to go out,” Beca whined.
“I didn’t ask,” Demi said and dragged Beca out of the studio and down to her car.
Demi told her driver they were going to Lure Nightclub. When they arrived, the valet opened the door for the two women and Demi grabbed Beca’s hand to lead her into the club. The paparazzi were out in full force and got plenty of pictures of the two holding hands as Demi dragged Beca into the club.
Beca and Demi got drunk and stumbled out of the club around 2:00 am. Demi took Beca to her place so she didn’t have to deal with Chloe and Chicago at hers. Both girls crashed as soon as they got to Demi’s bedroom.
~ WHEN THE GREEN-EYED MONSTER COMES A-KNOCKIN’~
It was a little after ten the next morning when Demi and Beca were awakened by the ringing of both their phones. Each girl fumbled around until they found their phones.
“Hello,” Beca mumbled.
“Beca, where the hell are you?” Fat Amy yelled.
“Stop yelling,” Beca said, sitting up and holding her head. She looked and saw that Demi had left the room. “What’s going on?”
“Where are you?” Fat Amy asked. “There’s some serious shit going down at your apartment. You might want to get over here.”
“What kind of shit?” Beca asked, still unfocused.
“The Bellas all showed up here around 9:00 this morning,” Fat Amy said. “They’ve been going on and on about how you and Demi Lovato are a thing.”
“What?” Beca asked. “Why would they think that?”
“Google your name,” Fat Amy said. “You’ll see why. And, we also have one pissed-off and angry ginger that looks like she’s ready to kill somebody.”
“What is she so pissed off about?” Beca asked fully awake and pissed off now. “She’s with Captain America. It’s none of her fucking business who I’m with.”
“Come on, Beca,” Fat Amy said pleadingly. “It’s not like that. Just come home. Please?”
“I’ll be there soon,” Beca said with a sigh and ended the call.
She looked down at her phone and noticed she had a bunch of texts from most of the Bellas, several of them from Chloe. She decided to ignore them for now and crawled out of bed to search for Demi. She found her standing in front of her TV with the phone to her ear.
“We’re friends who went out and got drunk together,” Demi said into the phone. “That’s all.”
Beca looked at the TV and her eyes got wide. TMZ had a video of the two of them inside Lure and they were dancing and hanging all over each other.
“Oh, shit,” Beca mumbled.
Demi looked at her and smiled a genuine smile as she ended her call. “My publicist,” Demi explained. “Apparently, we are the couple to watch now.”
“Shit, Demi,” Beca said, running her hand through her hair. “I’m sorry about this.”
“Don’t be,” Demi said. “I’m not. It’s good publicity. Plus, you’re hot. I could do worse.”
“Gee, thanks,” Beca said. “Way to boost a girl’s ego, Lovato.”
“Shut it, Mitchell,” Demi said with a laugh. “You know if you weren’t in love with Chloe you’d be all over this.”
“I need to go home,” Beca said, blushing. “Fat Amy called and apparently all the Bellas are there and Chloe’s having a fit.”
“Let me come with you,” Demi said, her eyes bright with mischief. “Maybe you’ll find out exactly where you stand with Chloe if you show up with me. I’ll just tell them nothing happened.”
“Sure, why not? What could possibly go wrong?” Beca asked sarcastically.
~ WHEN THE GREEN-EYED MONSTER COMES A-KNOCKIN’~
Demi and Beca made it to Beca’s apartment around 1:00 pm to find the Bellas sitting around Beca’s living room. As soon as Beca walked in Amy ran over and grabbed her in a hug.
“I was worried about you, shorty,” Amy said before letting Beca go.
“Yeah, well, as you can see, I’m fine,” Beca said.
“Where the hell have you been?” Chloe yelled at Beca. “We’ve been worried sick about you.”
Beca looked at Chloe and frowned.
“I don’t answer to you,” Beca snarked. “You’re not my girlfriend.”
Chloe’s mouth dropped open in shock at Beca’s anger toward her.
“Why are you acting like this?” Chloe asked. “Are you and Demi a thing now? So, you’ve forgotten everything you said to me in France.”
“Demi and I are not a thing,” Beca said. “Why is Chicago with you anyway?”
“He came out to visit his sister,” Chloe said. “He wanted to see you to congratulate you. But since you didn’t come home last night, he left.”
“Yeah, right,” Beca scoffed.
“Beca,” Aubrey said. “Maybe you should hear Chloe out before you say something you’ll regret. Why don’t you two go upstairs and talk.”
Beca and Chloe stood glaring at each other. Chloe was the first to fold.
“Can we talk?” Chloe asked. “Please?”
“Sure,” Beca said and headed for the stairs.
~ WHEN THE GREEN-EYED MONSTER COMES A-KNOCKIN’~
“So, are you replacing me with Demi Lovato?” Chloe asked as soon as Beca closed her bedroom door.
“What? No,” Beca responded. “Are you really not with Chicago?”
“I don’t want Chicago,” Chloe said. “I only want you.”
“I only want you, too,” Beca said.
Chloe smiled and stared at Beca.
“So, uh, what happens now?” Beca asked.
“I'm going to kiss you,” Chloe said, stepping toward Beca.
“Who’s stopping you?” Beca asked.
Chloe didn’t say anything, she just grabbed Beca by the front of her shirt and pulled her into a kiss.
Beca moaned into the kiss and grabbed Chloe around the waist, pulling her closer and deepening the kiss.
~ WHEN THE GREEN-EYED MONSTER COMES A-KNOCKIN’~
“It’s kind of quiet up there,” Ashley said. “Do you think we should check on them?”
“Let’s leave them alone for a bit,” Jessica said. “I’m not sure I want to walk into whatever is happening right now.”
“That’s probably for the best,” Fat Amy said with a knowing smile. “I’m pretty sure BeChloe is happening.”
“I agree,” Aubrey said.
“We’ll have to put a stop to whatever is happening soon,” Stacie said. “Beca will need to get ready for her party.”
“Maybe we should go to the hotel and get ready ourselves,” CR suggested. “Hopefully, they’ll be done making up by the time we come back.”
“That’s an excellent idea,” Emily said. “I’ll text Beca and let her know.”
“I’ll text Chloe, too,” Aubrey said.
“Yes, yes!” They suddenly hear Beca scream, followed by an “Oh, my God!” from Chloe.
The girls looked at each other and made a mad dash toward the door. Emily pulled the door open as Jessica, Ashley, CR, and Flo, practically fell over each other trying to get out.
Stacie smirked as she looked up toward Beca’s room.
“Let’s go, Stacie,” Aubrey said, grabbing Stacie’s arm and dragging her toward the door.
“Wait for us,” Fat Amy yelled as she and Demi ran out after them.

Don't know how people are gonna feel about this but Loki should've been dealt with the way they dealt with Lucifer (from the Netflix show) I mean while the show straight up dismissed loki's feelings, lucifer netflix really showed us the natural and organic character growth with ups and downs while still maintaining the comic hilarity (WHICH WASNT AT THE EXPENSE OF THE MC). It's love interest and side characters are all original characters dealt as independent characters rather as brownie or plot points.
And the scenes that prompted me to think this?
1. Lucifer asking his Mazikeen to cut off his wings because he's moved past being a pawn in his father's 'Great Plan'. We could've had loki come to this conclusion and tell Mobius (who would've been an actual all out ally who was forced into doin lg what he did) that he no longer wanted any place in a land that hated him. (Once again like Lucifer calling the silver city hell)
2. Lucifer actually being the way he's supposed to be (angel of light, light bringer etc.) We could've had Loki act like the way he Actually Is. Not like how @iamnmbr3 so eloquently put it 'like larry the dumb lookalike'. We could've had Loki being stern yet having that air of sarcasm and wit that he had in his the films. His eloquence, his physical prowess (none of the falling flat on his face stuff, a lot of people talk about how he was trying not to hurt the people in ep 2 but srsly Loki would just immediately disarm them), and most of all his agency and refusal to cower or the pathetic attempts at lying.
3. Costumes. The lucifer netflix team had an extensive costume department that ironically pales in comparison to what disney is capable of but still we see Lucifer have a wide array of clothes and styles. Have Loki take the first chance to change his clothes. If he wants the 50s aesthetic have at it! he can wear the tuxedos and the nice leather. Or maybe change into some nice Viking-inspired leathers and battle armor. Have him as a pirate, or a knight or a cowboy. You're traveling through time good man! you can at least hit some of the cool spots.
4. In depth analysis of lucifer's mental health. the only episode of the Loki tv show I liked (loose term) is the first one cause it's the only one that gave a fraction of what we were promised: an insight into loki. That's it.
5. Lucifer's organic growth. This is self-explanatory. Loki watched one video and was good. Very good five stars. I understand that they only had six episodes but come-on. You could've had the subtle changes through out all the eps and lead to the big finish finally. With each episode focusing on certain aspects of Loki.
5. Lucifer's exploration of self-loathing. This deserves to be a separate point because Istg it was done so well. Basically lucifer messes up and he's faced with the hatred that's been conditioned into him (not unlike Loki) and then he learns what it is and actually tries to love himself. And not by kissing a female variant of himself (ew and also respect the gender fluid persons). He actually saw the good in him by reflecting and his actual good friends helping him.
6. Lucifer actually wanting to be good. Look Idc what shut mike waldron wrote, loki is not selfish when his whole arc has been doing things for asgard, thor, odin, frigga etc. We all know that New York was mind control, I do not know why it's being swept under the rug. But here's the thing, that self loathing I mentioned earlier is a huge part of Loki thinking he's some monster and intent on proving it.
7. Lucifer facing his 'devil-face'. Loki should've come to terms with his Jotun heritage. The TVA could've had a case in Jotunheim concerning the Royal Family and Loki could've seen the entirety of Jotunheim and it's people not just that most-likely war propaganda the Asgardians force-fed him. Maybe have him meet his siblings or better yet his mother. There's a very nice fic on A03 called Asgardian Galdr that deals with this beautifully.
8. Luicfer having a Breakdown and Crying: First off this happens gradually, his problems pile up etc etc. and he faces off his father and gets angry until he finally breaks down. And basically God says, "I'm sorry but i can't fix you," And Lucifer in all his grief and desperation asks, "But you're God,'. I know we talk a lot about Loki being made weak in the Show but that's specifically about him being made weak and helpless to make Sylvie seem like a stronger character (Don't get me started on the Sif and Narcissm scene istfg), But maybe seeing Loki try awkwardly to be good and near the finish of the show we see it blow up in some angsty way? only for some conversation like this to happen and have Loki understand that being good is something that is innate and something he already had the potential for all along. Maybe learn that he's not lawful good but as always the morally grey character we know him as. (Protector of misfits, god of outcasts i.e all the shit Marvel shat on) and rise as the God of Chaos and Stories against the rigid bonds of The TVA and essentially Kang.
9. Lucifer having a nice healthy romantic interest and relationship. Lucifer and Chloe's relationship is more often than not the main point of the show but no matter how much it is focused on it remains health, organic and not a weird allegory for something disgusting. Even if Sylvie weren't a Loki (once again ew) the whole dynamic was toxic. She constantly put him down, and invalidated his feelings (Sounds like Odin huh?) and guess what Loki fell in love with her after one day, one conversation of what love was and Mobius calling her his girlfriend (he also said that it was freakish and i agree). We could've had Sigyn sweet lord. (I'll make another post about this)
10. Lucifer's Sexuality. There is a whole episode in which Loki's paramours are getting murdered and they all vary from men to women to all that comes in between. And there's no shame, no offensive jokes. Have Loki flirt with dudes, i understand ms.karen that this is for children, don't worry the casual sex ;) was offscreen. Have Loki turn into a woman and flirt with woman cowards, maybe make some questionable remarks about horses (That make Sigyn laugh)
11. Lucifer's Powers: lemme sum up, Lucifer can, let's call it, use compulsion on people. He is known for his strength and prowess and abilites to grant favors. Have Loki shapeshift into animals, absolutely mauling people. Have him use his silver-tongue to coax people into making or changing history (Yes Brutus, Caesar is getting to be a bit much, say have you heard how sharp knives are?)
I'm pretty sure there's more that i can't remember rn. And here is one thing i would like to make very clear.
You are not bad for liking the show or hating it whatever. The problem is that the show framed a lot of bad things as good (Anything the TVA did, Mobius' torture session with Loki, the way Sylvie treated Loki only for them to become romantic partners, the Sylkie fiasco as it was offensive to genderfluid people and the bare fucking minimum of LGBTQ and POC rep). The show was also marketed specifically to make us think hey! Loki might actually be the main character only for it to blow up in our faces. We were also promised an actual plot rather than a constantly plot twisting concept that could've been worth something.
Also i'm still working on a Loki fic rn after which i will write a Loki(TV) Rewrite but unitil then ig.

The content of this article is also available in video format, embedded at the bottom of this article.
Prelude

In early April of 2020, the Korean hip-hop label AOMG ambiguously announced that a new artist was signing onto the label. This label was grounded by the Korean-American triple-threat; Jay Park, who’s also one of its executives. This is a label with a very organic feel and artist-oriented nature, which stands out compared to many other music labels.
On April 3rd, the label’s official Instagram account posted a video. It was titled, “Who’s The Next AOMG?” where fellow AOMG members talked about this upcoming recruit. They sprinkled small hints and details by sharing their thoughts on the artist without mentioning who.
Around the world, fans immediately began speculating on who this could be. The major consensus was that it had to be the solo artist Lee Hi, due to reporting like this: “AOMG responds ‘nothing is confirmed’ to reports of Lee Hi signing on with the label”
A few other names got thrown in fan speculations like Hanbin (B.I), previous member of IKON, Jvcki Wai, and MOON (문) aka Moon Sujin. This despite a few of these already being signed to other labels.
On April 6th, three days later, the account was updated with a part two. This time dropping more hints, which would exclude many names from fan speculations.
On the 7th of April, the label’s official Instagram account posted a short teaser. The video sported an 80’s retrofuturistic setting, with a woman turned from the camera, dressed in all black, rocking braids, and some glistening high-heels. As it seemed to be a female, some were now certain that it had to be Lee Hi. A small few actually guessed correctly that the one who would be joining AOMG would be Ms DeVita.
Finally on April 9th, it was official! She debuted with the music video, from which the teaser clips was taken from, EVITA!, which accompanied the release of her EP, CRÈME.

What does the name DeVita mean?
The name DeVita, draws inspiration and meaning from two things. Firstly, Eva Perón – also known as Evita – who was Argentina’s former First Lady. When Chloe was learning about Eva’s life, it inspired her to combine “Devil” and “Evita”, thus creating “DeVita”. The name signifies the duality of how both Eva Perón and DeVita could be perceived. Either being a devil, or an angel depending on the eye of the beholder. Secondly, Salvatore Di Vita, a character from Cinema Paradiso, was also a source of inspiration.
An introduction to DeVita
Chloe Cho – now known under the artist name DeVita – was born and raised in South Korea, until the age of eleven. In 2009, she moved to Chicago, where she would learn English.
In 2013, she went back to Korea and participated in the third season of the show; K-pop Star. A talent show, where the “big three” (the three largest music labels in Korea) hosts auditions to find the next big k-pop star. However she didn’t win, therefore neither got signed.
Tumblr media
Later on, she returned to Chicago and graduated high school. After reflecting on what she wanted to do next, she decided to make music. In 2014, her pursuit to become an artist brought her to the talent show Kollaboration. On this show, she performed covers and actually ended up being a finalist. Despite her talents, she did not triumph as the winner of the show.
Not letting these losses stop her, she started releasing music on Soundcloud. The earliest release I could find, Halfway Love (Ruff), was from 2016. Her catalogue consisted of both covers and original music.
One day, Kirin, an artist and CEO of the music label 8balltown Records, was introduced to DeVita’s music. He liked what he heard and the two linked up. In May of 2018, WEKEYZ, one of 8balltown’s producer duos released a track titled Sugar. This track featured both DeVita, and the AOMG rapper Ugly Duck. This was the beginning of many collaborations to come.
On August 28th of 2018, just a few months later, AOMG released Sugar (Puff Daehee Mix).
This was a remix done by Puff Daehee, the alter ego of Kirin. Along with this track, it was accompanied by a music video starring Kirin, DeVita, and Ugly Duck. For most people, this was their first time seeing DeVita.
Tumblr media
DeVita continued doing features on many songs by Korean artists while creating a little buzz for herself. There’s one notable feature, which could be seen as an important milestone in her career. That is her feature on the track Noise, from AOMG artist Woo Won Jae’s project, titled af.
In a tweet a few days after the release of CRÈME, she shared the significance of this moment.
“I was still making minimum wage working at a restaurant back when Noise dropped- I wrote my part during my shift on the back of this receipt paper. This was about a year and a half ago. A little bit after that I got a call from Pumpkin at 3am Chicago time. He said Jay wanted to meet in Philly in 4 hours. They put me on a plane and the rest is history.”
The phone call she mentioned in her tweet, about Jay wanting to meet, must have been made around September 2018. Jay was performing in Philadelphia at the time. The moment they met in Philadelphia was actually captured through a photo of the two. However, this picture ended up getting removed later on.
Tumblr media
Fast forward a few months and Jay had just released his Ask About Me EP. The project focused on a western audience, so he went to the States on a promo run. During his visit, he also met up with DeVita once again, as can be seen here.
Finally, on April 9th, her being signed to AOMG was officially announced and she debuted with her EP titled CRÈME. Her joining AOMG, looked like something that happened pretty naturally. The vast majority of artists she had collaborated on tracks with happened to be AOMG members. Getting comfortable with the AOMG family, likely made the decision to join crystal clear.
Artistically
Just a quick look at her body of work thus far, a majority of it is in English. However, she has no issues singing in Korean, as proven by her feature on Code Kunst’s; Let u in. The tone in her voice has this sort of mixture of many singers, a melting pot of sorts. It reminds me of Audrey Nuna, SAAY, H.E.R, some vocal riffs from Dinah Jane, and at times, just a tiny bit of Ariana Grande.
As an artist, she’s still in the early stages of carving out her own unique sound and style. There’s incredible potential here, but her distinct identity is not completely there yet. I see before me a caterpillar that within a couple years, will transform into a butterfly, with its own identifiable pattern to spread its wings out on.
From what she’s shown so far, I would say she seems most comfortable doing R&B and soul music. However, beyond a quick description I prefer to refrain from categorizing her. Mostly because artists generally feel limited when categorized. More importantly, because we have no idea what she has in store for the future.
Debut EP: CRÈME
Tumblr media
CRÈME is DeVita’s “crème de la crème”. She constantly modified the tracklist to present her debut project in a way that held her personal standard; essentially presenting us her best tracks. The result is CRÈME, which consists of five tracks, with a runtime of fourteen minutes altogether.
This EP showcases the fact that she is a competent songwriter, able to write some soulful, emotional ballads. It is completely in English and all the tracks are written by her, telling both life stories of her own and that of others. A majority of the production was handled by her “musical soulmate”; TE RIM, but other notable names, like Code Kunst show up as well.
Tracks:
Movies, introduces the project in a very gentle manner. In the track, DeVita paints a picture of a criminal couple, getting a rush, by committing crimes together. The lyrics feel inspired by movies like Bonnie and Clyde. My initial thoughts were that, for some ears, it could possibly be “too” calm as an opener. It doesn’t demand attention the way EVITA! does. Simply put, it’s not a bad track. I would just have put this track later on in the EP.
EVITA!, is something different compared to what I hear from others in the K-R&B lane. I love the 80’s aesthetic in both the track and music video. Sonically, the nostalgic saxophone riffs, warm lush synth pads, thumping bass line, results in a trip back to the 80s. With this recipe, topped with DeVita’s “current” contemporary soul and R&B voice makes for an interesting combination. The music video had that futuristic 80’s look with the neon colors, and I loved how the guns she played around with looked a lot like the “Needlers” from the Halo franchise.  The title is once again just like DeVita’s name, an ode to the controversial Eva Perón. The instrumental was originally used by TE RIM, the producer of the track in 2017. His version has the same title as DeVita’s version and I recommend giving that one a listen as well, as it has a different feel to it. This track was definitely one of the highlights of the EP.
All About You, is a simple yet beautiful piano love ballad. Originating from her own tales of love, her vocals effortlessly capture what she felt during these moments.
1974 Live, is yet another ballad, but this time, with a calm guitar backing, playing a poppier R&B chord progression. DeVita’s voice is given a lot of space to be in the center of the track. As soon as I heard this track I became curious. What was the significance of this year, which would have her title the track as such? My questions were left unanswered… until the EP had marinated a while, when she tweeted: “1974 Live is about Christine Chubbuck”. In case you’re unfamiliar, Christine Chubbuck was a television news reporter, who made history in 1974. She was the first person to commit suicide live on air. According to her mother Christine’s suicide would on paper be due to an unfullfilling personal life. All throughout her life, she had experienced unreciprocated love. With this information tying back to the track, it becomes a lot less ambiguous and reveals a more cohesive narrative.
Show Me, is the final track of the EP, featuring immaculate production from the talented CODE KUNST. The sound is very moody, which fits her voice like a glove. This is my favorite performance on the entire EP, both lyrically and vocally. The lyrics present someone who’s fed up dealing with men, who talk the talk but don’t walk the walk. Now she’s looking for love with someone who’s honest and “real”.
With the project being a year old now, it has already gotten her nominated for both Rookie of the Year along with EVITA being nominated for Best R&B & Soul Track in the 18th iteration of the Korean Music Awards.
A majority of listeners seemed to enjoy the project. Many seem to be in love with her voice judging by the endless amounts of praise she has received, often described as painfully addicting, soothing, smooth, and so on.
I also asked a friend who’s a huge fan of Korean music, especially the hiphop and r&b scene to share her thoughts on the project. Here’s what she said:
"This whole project is empowering, in particular the tracks Show Me and EVITA! DeVita being a new artist, managed to impress me and many more listeners through this EP. As mentioned earlier, empowering lyrics with unique melodies and beats. Especially with the track EVITA! The fact that 1974 Live and EVITA! was referring to, two historically important women, is something that I love. This is one of my favorite EP:s of 2020 and DeVita is now included in my list of favorite artists." @Haonsmom
From what I’ve seen, only a few have been vocal about not really being too fond of the project. Some were left a bit disappointed, as they were expecting more hip-hop and R&B from an AOMG artist. The lack of “danceable” tracks was also a concern to some. Despite these criticisms, one thing was always mentioned; the girl has a beautiful voice and is obviously talented.
After listening to this EP, I hear a lot of potential. Being an EP with just five tracks, it definitely avoids overstaying its welcome. It’s brief enough to allow a listen through the entire project, no matter what you’re doing. My favorite tracks would have to be Show Me and EVITA!, but I found the whole project to be enjoyable. This EP is sprinkled with lovely vocal performances and simple but captivating production. I do still stand by my opinion that Movies would have fit better later in the tracklist if you’re chasing that mainstream ear.
I think the way EVITA! kicks you in the face, demanding attention, would’ve been a better fit as the opening track. In contrast to the other tracks, the energy level is unique, making the placement feel odd as the rest of the tracks have a chill vibe. All in all, this project gave me a taste of the “crème” but left me with a curious yearning for what this chef will whip up for dessert.
Bright future ahead
The addition of more female artists to the AOMG roster was much needed. Hoody was the first and only female member for about four years. This was the case up until late 2019, where she was then joined by sogumm, who had just won AOMG’s audition program called SignHere. Now funnily enough after DeVita, Lee Hi actually did end up officially signing with AOMG on July 22, last year.
Based on what I’ve heard during Devita’s Kollaboration days, she has improved immensely. This topped with her leaving the impression of someone passionate about their craft, bodes well for what's to come. She seems to be someone who'll constantly evolve.
Following an artist, at the early stages of their career, is something that I always find exciting. With such a lovely debut, I cannot wait to see what the future has in store for DeVita.

a random thought:
An unpopular opinion: I like season 3, which seems an UO
My Canon OTP: is Adrien/Marinette canon? I mean, they are for me. If not Sabine/Tom
My Non-canon OTP: Ummmm.... Kagami/Chloe will be interesting
Most Badass Character: Marinette
Most Epic Villain: Gabriel/Hawk Moth is a good villain for me. From the akumas: Guitar Villain

My favorite non-romantic relationship for this character: Frigga, Loki, but in very different ways
My unpopular opinion about this character: Not an unpopular opinion, but not having watched Ragnarok is most likely blasphemy
One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon: I don't have a lot of things I want from Love and Thunder. I just hope it is entertaining as a movie and it shows us how Thor deals with not being a prince/king anymore

Replayed Life is Strange ep. 5, thoughts below.
Buckle in - I had a lot to say.
I was nervous about revisiting this one. The first time I played, this ending wrecked me. And I mean wrecked. I was in tears for hours. I had trouble sleeping for weeks. I couldn’t think about the game without wanting to cry. I wanted to draw fan art for it, but couldn’t without breaking down. In many ways, I’m still affected by it. This game changed me.
So, I was nervous. And not just because of how hard it hit me the first time, but I was nervous about how I’d react in replaying. Would I notice something I didn’t the first time, that would ruin the experience for me? Would I cry as much? And if I didn’t, would that mean that I didn’t like it as much? How much of that original feeling was satisfaction, and how much was disappointment?
-spoilers ahead for LiS Ep. 5-
I touched on this very briefly last time, but I want to talk about it further here, where it comes more into play:
I do not like the Jefferson twist. Coupled with Rachel’s death, it is a shallow and uninteresting answer to her disappearance, regardless of their attempts to pretty it up with the Prescott’s involvement. Strip away the red herrings and tangled threads, and what you’re left with is a dead girl and a murderer. Jefferson becomes unrecognisable in his unveiled role - his tropey villain dialogue and mannerisms separate him so far from his earlier scenes that it may as well have been an all-new person. Maybe this was the intention, but it reads to me as utterly cliche. How frightening would he have been, had he kept his familiar composure? How much more menacing, now that his mannerisms are given a horrific context?
Even within the narrative, his portrayal in this episode feels completely wrong. Jefferson goes from a man with a sick passion for capturing true innocence, to one willing to murder multiple people. It is never understood that murder is part of his pattern. Rachel’s death was an accident at Nathan’s hands, yet now we have Jefferson killing him, Chloe, Victoria, and the intention to kill Max, all with nary a hint of remorse or doubt. He is just the bad guy now - plain and simple. And in a game where so much else is designed to be not so clean-cut, that’s... pretty boring.
With that out of the way, I do think the scenes themselves are done well. Awakening in the dark room is genuinely tense and scary - moreso with Victoria present. Desperately hopping in and out of photographs to different moments of captivity is incredibly effective - it packs on such helplessness and danger.
And even while not being thrilled with Jefferson as the villain, and while understanding it would soon fall apart, it is incredibly satisfying to help Max attain the following victories via time-hopping. A lot of the game focuses on retreading conversations with new information, and consequently, Max displays boosted confidence upon these repetitions. Returning to the first scene is where this is at its peak. She knows everything - and she’s powerful. It’s also in parts like this where I would like to applaud the designers for having a clear vision from the outset (even if I wasn’t entirely thrilled with aspects of that vision).
A really strong story-telling tool is introducing a solution before the problem arrives, to trick the audience into thinking it’s unimportant until the reveal. Having us take the selfie right at the start of the game is a great use of this. What seemed like just a moment in a scene becomes absolutely vital - but only after we discover we can rewind with photographs. (this is also why the ep.4 Warren moment feels so weirdly deliberate. We already know how her powers work by this point so we’re paying attention every time a new photo is taken.)
--
I’d been put the ending off for a while.
Once I played up to the art gallery, I took a break and then just... left it there. Left Max in a peaceful moment.
I wasn’t ready.
But lately it seemed like the real world was telling me to return to it. After a week with no breeze, the wind began picking up, and it looked like there could be rain. I found myself idly doodling Chloe and Max in my intervals between work. I had someone here ask me if I’d be writing thoughts for episode 5. I was discovering new music that aligned all too well with where I was at with the characters.
So, I finally decided it was time, and sat down, and finished playing. Only the next morning did I realise I’d done so on October 11, the in-game day of the storm.
Before moving into the next act of the episode, I want to say I really appreciate the way they’ve sculpted so many different ways to apply Max’s rewind power. It’s great that they’re able to keep surprising me while not emptying their cache too quickly. However, I reaaally wish (and was expecting) that time-freezing would make a return in this finale. It’s used well in ep.2 with Kate, but I feel like it introduced a new threat that is never paid off. Once it’s established that Max’s power can weaken her to the point where it doesn’t function, there is now a looming danger for when that will happen again - maybe this time, the cost will be Chloe, or the town, or even Max herself. But it never does. The closest we get is when Chloe is shot at the end of ep.4, but the power's failure is more directly from Jefferson’s sedation, rather than a weakness on Max’s part. And when she does falter again, it manifests as a prolonged out-of-nowhere dream sequence. There’s some creative stuff present there, but it also stands as a missed opportunity to toy further with tangible peril.
On with the escape. Don’t have much to say here. I may not have been happy with his new portrayal, but it’s still satisfying to watch Jefferson get taken down.  It’s nice to see David on the same team as Max, and it’s a good start to a series of character farewell scenes.
Followed closely by a bad one.
Nathan is thrown to the wayside to an unforgivable degree here. He’s been pivotal in Max and Chloe’s connection uptil now, even though a lot of that happens off-screen. But as soon as he’s no longer the main threat, his presence, character, and life are all discarded. His phone message in the car provides some closure, but is far too little too late and serves more as insult to injury than any kind of saving face.
Meanwhile, Warren, a character with more screentime than Nathan but of relative unimportance to the main story, is given a spotlighted farewell. I don’t get this. I have no harsh feelings against Warren, but insofar as his relevance to Max and Chloe’s arcs, he is a sideliner. Since his primary presence has centred around a potential romance for Max, his farewell scene should be treated with an equal amount of focus. It really annoys me that you are forced to tell him about Max’s powers - there is no way to opt out of it, and all it leads to is him guilt-tripping Max with ‘Chaos Theory’ and ‘choosing the right thing’, which the game is about to throw at us anyway in the dream sequence. It’s also unjust to the scene’s purpose, which is a farewell. We may not fully know it, but we’re saying goodbye to these characters one by one. We’ve just come away from our farewells with Joyce and Frank, and all Warren wants to do is talk plot. But whatevs, I still hugged him.
The confession about letting William die was painful. I wasn’t predicting it to come up again, and by this point it felt like so long ago. And yet, it works. We’ve returned to a Chloe who’s early off of discovering Rachel’s death - and she doesn’t want to listen. And we need her to listen. Most conversations in the game can’t lead to a failure, but I find it really interesting that this one does.
I’m very conflicted about the dream sequence. Conceptually, I love it. I love when games mess with their established order, and they’re certainly evoking a feeling of helplessness in me upon returning once again to that damn classroom. But, it rubs me the wrong way here, too. We’ve beaten the mini-boss of the game. We defeated Jefferson. Yet the final time we see him is here, forcing us to say words we don’t want to, and watch him take photos of Chloe with us strapped to a chair. I get this is Max internalising her insecurities... but we beat him. We’re onto the final boss, now - the storm. Jefferson is obsolete at this point, and there’s no rhyme or reason to show him in power again.
(sidebar: the bottle-collecting in the hide-and-seek segment was confusing and dumb and made me angry that they were still injecting completion rewards this late in the story)
I also don’t like the Dark Room sequence of the dream, because it villainises Chloe. All the other sequences present us with twisted versions of Arcadia Bay residents. Dead versions, cruel versions. We’re witnessing the weight of guilt that coincides with the coming choice, culminating in an encounter with the Other Max, and Chloe saving us from her. This should have been Chloe’s first appearance in the dream. The Dark Room sequence where she jeers at Max’s shortcomings seems so out of place with the rest of what is being said. I think this is especially noticeable given the following walk down memory lane, showing us everything we’ll lose on the alternate side of the choice.
(sidebar: I wish that the walk had been done better - I never knew when to stop and listen to the voiceovers and when to continue onto the next highlighted moment, and it was always jarring whenever the dialogue got interrupted)
I was fully ready for Rachel to appear in this dream, in some form or another. With everything culminating, and Max messing more with time, coupled with how blunt they were to put Rachel in the ground in the previous ep, I was waiting and I was hoping. But she never showed. And I don’t understand why. As I said with Nathan, Rachel is integral in the centric plotline of Max and Chloe’s reunion. I need to stress this - even though she’s never seen on-screen, she is a dominating factor in our two main characters’ growth, and is little more than a footnote in this finale.
What we get instead at the end of this dream, is Other Max. I don’t have much to say about her. In my eyes she’s very much just a culmination of the dream thusfar. She doesn’t represent much to me beyond that, except a missed opportunity to meet Rachel and find out what the hell is going on.
Can we touch on that quickly, before the final scene? What the hell is going on? I don’t want to have everything bluntly spelled out, but... did the designers really feel like they’d laid enough groundwork that the answer should be obvious? When Chloe hamfistedly states it’s a mystery we’ll ‘obviously never figure out’... damn. That hurts. I mean, I have my own theory - I like it, and it’s the lens I choose to view the story through. But it’s unfair to put it on the players to do this heavy-lifting. We relied on the designers to draw the path for us to follow, and they took us to a dead end.
So let’s talk about the final choice. Even in replaying, and with the dream sequence’s attempts to balance the scales last-minute, my decision here still remained the same, for a couple of reasons. The first being the game’s true title, as I have mentioned earlier - ‘Save Chloe: The Game’. And hey, this doesn’t suddenly change in the final episode. This was, for me, the fixed goal as soon as I caught onto it. And to save Chloe here, she needs to be able to live past her grief. Contrasted to the alternate Chloe, whose prison was inescapable - saving her came from letting her go. But here, we need to hold on.
Hold on, hold on, hold on.
My second main reason is Max’s character growth, and the overall narrative. This young girl is warned of a coming storm, and is then given time-altering powers. And she is constantly asking why. Not just why she got powers, but what she is meant to learn from having them. On the surface, what she learns is ‘don’t mess with time a bunch because a storm will happen’ and with that you can lean either way on the choice. But if I was going to carve right to the heart, I see the story saying ‘you can’t fix all your mistakes, but you can move through the consequences and grow in the aftermath.’ Every problem she's faced in the story uptil this point, she has tampered with to some degree in order to solve. And to do so, again, for this final decision, would make her arc amount to nothing. This needs to be different from letting William die, otherwise the game could have ended there. There is no easy decision, but the storm is here. All the pieces lie where they fell, both good and bad.
I’m tearing this damn photograph.
All that said, I can’t and won’t fault anyone for going the other way. I haven’t played or watched the alternate ending, so far all I know it performs well and ticks story checkboxes that I can’t see over here on the ‘bae’ side.
This choice felt and still feels like the right one to me. From outside the narrative, I can certainly weigh the options and see sacrificing Chloe as the more viable. (though if you want to talk pragmatism, there is absolutely no reason why either of them should think that letting Chloe die should fix everything)
But while it’s important to ask ‘what would I do?’, it’s also been immensely important to me in these playthroughs to ask ‘what would Max do?’, or further, ‘what could Max do?’
So that was my choice. As I said at the beginning, I was nervous as to how I’d feel at the end, after having been so deeply affected the first time. And now, after crying through the whole epilogue, I found myself wondering if I’d cried enough. I looked up the scene online and watched it again, and cried. And then again, and cried. But what was this empty feeling? Is this what it felt like before, or was something blocking me from experiencing it properly?
After stepping outside into the 4am light, and then another rewatch, I realised I was, in a way, messing with time. Trying to force things, just like Max was. I even had my own Other Max in my head, making me question my own thoughts and feelings. So it was time to let it be what it was, and move on. I couldn’t recreate my first play, but I could let myself get swept up in this one.
Since finishing the game, it’s been raining non-stop here. I’ve kept inside, surrounded by the aftermath of this playthrough.
Playing this game changed me. For all it did right and all it did wrong, I was affected. It’s the first time in my life that I’ve consciously noted a tangible shift in who I am as a person. It’s brought me closer to my emotions, and has altered my creativity. It made me revise one of my comic ideas into a game - something I would never have considered on my own.
Even with all these thoughts, I reckon this comic I made accurately sums up my whole experience.
And as I’ve done each time, here are my favourite moments from this episode:
-'I’ll always be with you.’ ‘Forever.’
-Clasping hands, as the storm rages.
-Max, unable to watch, leaning into Chloe, who looks on with newfound strength.
-Driving through the town, now in pieces. Max, too, in pieces.
-Max’s weak smile when Chloe moves to comfort her. It’s going to be okay. They’re together.
--
(heck, I cried just typing those out, I am so done, haha)
To anybody who read this far - thank you so, so much. This game holds a lot of emotional value to me, and hence these write-ups are probably the most personal thing I’ve put out here for people to see. So thank you for taking the time to look at this. I hope you’re having a wonderful day.
Wah, this was all in preparation for the first episode of Before the Storm, and now episode 2 is about to be released. I gotta dig in!
As always, here’s a lil sketch <3

Losing Chloe BROKE ME. listning to Bye Bye mariah carey and crying!!! this is for the people who just lost somebody... SHOOT. I wanted her to blurt out more of her votes in tribe chats. RIP. a fallen Goddess...
Tumblr media
SWEET BABY JESUS I GET A SECOND LIFE IN THIS GAME!! THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!! OMG I LOVE THE LAGOON RN! BUT HOPEFULLY I CAN MAKE IT TO THE POINT WHERE I CAN RETURN BECAUSE I HAVE A FEW PEOPLE TO STRIKE BACK AT.
Tumblr media
I’m so dumb, completely missed the voting deadline, in my defense i was teaching, but still. Never again, its merge (maybe) and im not gonna jeopardise my game like that.
Tumblr media
I'm glad we merged but two people are returning to the game? This has been the most cracked game I have ever played.
Tumblr media
Renee and Chips have a chance to return. Between the both I hope Renee comes back. She was an ally for me and most probably work together again.
Tumblr media
Go rennee!

MERGEMERGEMERGEMERGE!!!! glad my zodiac sign is known for being loyal cause I sure ain’t.
Tumblr media
This challenge is always weird but i think if people tell me the truth i may have cancelled out some of my stuff im getting. M&M&M are good standings hopefully. I also trust kait thomas and timmy. Hopefully i can make itndeep in the game.
---
This challenge was a total meh i guess this works. Hopefully i win immunity. If not hopefully im not a target. My relationship with Madison may be rocky right now cuz i blindsided her tribe friend in another game. So im kinda nervous. Hopefully she doesnt pass it her vengence here and tries to take me out.  Im slightly worried a but for this tc.
Tumblr media
This merge is a little different from my norm game, I usually have 2-4 alliance chats going but I don't have a single one so far this game.  All my deals have been side deals so far, I do not know if that is a good or bad thing as of this moment in time.  Corey did fill me in that there was an alliance being formed that included him, at least it's indicative of him wanting "The Bull and the Lion" to continue to work. I am also way to mentally drained to give a damn, I just needed to make a confessional to not strike. I worked for 14 hours today but I made 325 dollars and now only owe 4k on my student loans.  Thassss a win in my book even if I get voted out, I'm just gonna drink some beer, hold Jenifer and go to bed.  Good night Moon.
Tumblr media
THANK GOD I WON IMMUNITY. You have no idea how good it feels to not have to stress out too much this round. Considering there are 14 of us, really anything could happen, but it's great to know that I will make it through at least one more round. The only key here is just making sure that I stay on the right side of the numbers. The line will most likely be drawn in the sand, so it's important that I stay on the right side of it. So far, I think the people that trust me the most are Ian, Corey, and Matt. I talk to them the most out of everyone, and I do trust them all to an extent, Corey and Ian the most. I would love to find a way to get all three of them on the same page, but I know that will be a heard feat. Next in line would probably be Maynor, Madison, and Kait. I talk to these three a good amount, but for some reason I am having a hard time putting my full faith into them. I talk to Owen a good amount too, but he is a MAJOR threat, and someone that I do not want to be in the game for too much longer if I'm going to have a chance to win. For this round, in an ideal world, Thomas would go home. But that seems too easy. I am hoping someone starts throwing names around, but if not, I guess it will have to be me.
Tumblr media
WHY DOES MATT HATE ME SO MUCH?!?!  I genuinely wanted to work with him after first impressions, I bet he was the one who voted Taurus now.  My idol now has a name attached to it, so thanks for that Matt.  In a way, I guess you did end up working with me in some fashion.  Ideally this round goes down with a clear majority on Stephan and Corey can get his save a vote activated and I play the slow burn on good ole Matteo, I wanted to butt heads with Owen at merge, but Owen has been a delight while Matteo has been nothing but a thorn in my side.

Tumblr media
Phew child this merge! 14 people is so so so many and I did in fact vote out Adrian and Chloe, both people who I’ve worked with. I’m left in a really interesting spot because of the warzones it’s still hard to see who has a pattern of voting together. I feel that I’ve positioned myself to be in a lot of threesomes, and hopefully nobody really catches on to that? I know Kait is my number one currently and I have trust with Madison and Devon and Corey. But I’m also fully aware that everyone is a huge threat, and I have to downplay myself as one as well. Hopefully a stepehen vote will provide me with good positioning, as we’re removing someone I personally can’t reallt work with, and lessening the numbers. I also wanna really work with chips but I’m sure everyone was chomping at that bit! Who doesn’t want a bite of chips!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I wish I could put an image in this form bc the joke I’m about to make is so funny Anyways lol I told Kait about the idol I felt like I had to or else I’d break her trust if I ever used it. But THEN LOL SHE TOLD ME THAT matt also has one LMAO THAY HE NEVER TOLD ME ABOUT!!!! So that meme I linked above is literally me and matt with our idols Here’s my prob tho I like l.... I have to tell matt bc he knows I guess the coordinate. So I guess that’s a thing that’ll happen
Tumblr media
Finally have an alliance chat with Kait and Owen...it’s been so many rounds in the making tbh, it just needed to actually be made. I feel safer having that as well as us going to make one with Matt and Maynor as well, making sure that Matt is okay with it...Maynor already seems to be on board. The only name that’s been going around is Stephen so that kind of sucks because I wanted to work with him, but he isn’t around enough to try and rock the boat for in this game unfortunately.
Tumblr media
I found a hidden immunity idol which is awesome! Also, everyone has been silent this round after we decided on Stephen so that’s a bit suspicious
Tumblr media
This is a really hard round because I really like everyone. If any good came from it, it's that I solidified myself into a strong alliance that should be able to keep me safe for at least a few rounds. Corey did not seem to bite on my idea to vote out Owen. Matt says he is most threatened by Ian and Timmy. And everyone just seems to want to vote Stephen. I think this round will be pretty easy, but from this point on it just gets harder. I assume that Chips is in a bad spot and most likely will go next. But at final 12, it's going to be a doozy to see who can stay on top of the vote.
Tumblr media
So thisrounf there is an alliance of 6 however I have 0 faith in Thomas. He is a wild card and will be hard to judge and work with. No idea what’s going to happen tonight.
Tumblr media
Aight a lot happening this merge!!! Fourteen people we losin our minds. First of all let me say half these ppl were kinda boring to talk to but I’m liking it a little better today. I came in wanting Stephen GONE because I lied to him during the taylor vote and we haven’t clicked since and I promised I would get out whoever lied to me in this food challenge and his bitch ass didn’t submit so I didn’t get my perfect ZERO!!!! So I was all ready to press him but suddenly Devon had already thrown out his name! Easy as pie. I rlly trust Kait and her and corey get along. I was branching out to some others too like madison is bae, Devon is fun, I like talking to Ian. My FAVORITE is Maynor I rlly like him but I’m scared matt has a hold on him. Anyways I helped set up some alliances today that I hope are solid. One is me Kait madison corey and then they wanted to add Devon and tommy which is cool. Still kinda pressed at Thomas because yesterday I said ily to him and he replied with lol but other than that it’s a good group. But then suddenly Timmy wanted something with Kait and I so I took that as an opportunity to solidify something with Maynor! Precious angel. Kait and I are worried because the tension between corey and matt lmao which is honestly kinda stupid. Matt was sus about corey after he spearheaded the renee vote which like I understand. And I stirrred the pot a little because I told corey that matt was after him lmao. But for now I’m rlly working hard to keep them from targeting each other and so is Kait. Idk how long that can last tho. Ummmm trace’s THOT HOE ASS told corey he wanted me out?!!! So he gotta GO! And Kait and matt think Ian is dangerous which I’m like ok maybe..., sure. Ummm Cullan is just mind boggling. He ate tater tots for breakfast who does that. But he’s sweet I guess. Id prefer him and Ian and trace gone soon but corey likes all those people oop. I rlly think Kait wants to stick with going to the end with me and matt which like.... I rlly will keep allegiance to Kait but matt? Idk. He kept his idol secret from me and it’s clear he doesn’t trust me as much which is fine, I wasbsure Stephen would target me tonight but apparently now he’s going for Thomas. Hopefully it’s an easy vote and Stephen goes and I get what I want and next round I’ll figure out what to do when it gets harder
Tumblr media
Well. Tonight the vote is Stephen. Well, for the majority of us. For little young me, I will be voting for nobody! We acquiring a save vote. Hopefully, at our next tribal, Timmy leaves! Woo! I am in 2 alliances: Mighty Happy Meal (Owen, Kait, Madison, Devon, Thomas) and Queer Eye-ish (Madison, Matt, Trace). Period... I am loyal to my own people. Madison, Owen, Ian, Devon. Kait too, to an extent. The rest need to go at their time. I do what I can. Matt is a priority for me to get rid of. Unless Timmy wants Matt gone, I want him gone too for next time. x

Ep 11: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1-fEEBtT8R4hk_587qknbxwLmB8yhN_lt/view?usp=drivesdk
Tumblr media
This is my placeholder confession for until I am at a computer and able to type something out. I got back in the game!
Tumblr media
alyssa said put ep 11: just a quick recap bc i have to play this silly flash game now before i pass out - corey and matt allegedly not liking each other is still a problem - owen found an idol - i told owen matt has an idol bc i have a big mouth - corey told owen all this shit about the vote and idk just other game sensitive stuff and not me and - there's an aliens of trace, matt, madison, and corey that trace allegedly made. this is a big question mark bc either it's just really random and people that trace wants to work with despite what they said or this beef??? between matt and corey is fake which i wouldn't be too surprised by - corey told all of this to owen before tribal but told him that he was going to wait until after tribal to tell me like.... i don't appreciate that. - i think that kind of solidifies that if/when corey v matt happens and i have to pick a side i wanna go with my matt. - im sure i will think of more tomorrow oh also i want ian to get deleted from skype thx
Tumblr media
EP 11 Confessional: I got an idol this round which is cool. I heard the vote was stephen however it’s been kinda quiet. Not sure if that’s a good thing or a bad thing.

My Top Songs of The First Half of 2019
⚠️Long Post⚠️
⚠️The Songs I’m writing about we’re more than likely not in the top 40 on the music charts (some might have)⚠️
1. Jax Jones & Years & Years: Play
A lot of these songs I fell in love with on the first listen. This song was one of them. It’s very generic pop with a tropical house beat that’s, for me, very hypnotizing. The song talks about someone falling in love with someone else over song that their dancing to. It’s very, love at first sight. But it works. And the cartoon that goes with this song is so cute!
2. Charity: Millenials
Even though this song was released in October of 2018, I first heard this song in January of this year (thanks Spotify). This song struck a chord with me, with it being so relatable. The songwriter talks all about the struggles millennials are going through and basically telling us we are not alone. All of this over a R&B/ Gospel beat that’s the glue of the whole song. I won’t tell my whole story of what I’m dealing with right now, but this song is basically tells about 70% of my story.
3. Judy Garland: Come Rain Or Come Shine
This song is one of many songs that was released before 2006 that I have’nt heard about until this year. I love it when little gems like this song is revealed to me an any way. This song was revealed to me via RuPauls Drag Race All Stars Season 4 the makeover challenge. The whole episode was Judy Garland themed. I thought I was cultured until I saw that episode and I was like, “I know nothing about Judy Garland.” This song is just one of many thing I’m learning in the way to being the ultimate scholar in LGBTQIA+ history. This song is very quiet in the beginning but the build-up is to die for! It’s like marriage vows, “I’m gonna love you come rain or come shine.” The song says. It’s basically someone’s marriage vows. The trumpets bellowing in the background is the cherry on top and the orchestra itself, is everything. If you know what I’m talking about, thank you Naomi Smalls for introducing this song and immortalizing this song for me and millennials everywhere who just found out about the song when you did an epic lip-sync performance to this amazing song.
4. John Legend: Preach
This song is truly EVERYTHING. Over a slow-tempo pop ballad instrumental, the lyrics tell a story. He talks about, he can’t just preach. Preaching is not enough, there has to be more he can do, to help the problems that this country is facing. With so many shootings happening across the US, there has to be more we can do. I love this song so much. The meaning is so heartfelt and genuine and John Legend just comes through shining and being motivational. I highly suggest this song if you are looking for new songs to listen to. It’s universal, it’s for everyone.
5. Jonas Brothers: Sucker
This song is catchy. It’s everything I love about the Jonas brothers and their recent release of music after their hiatus. It’s a perfect mix of DNCE (Joe Jonas and friends) and Nick Jonas’s style of music. It’s very Alternative rock and generic pop fused together. The lyrics talk about their wives (all of the Jonas brothers are married), and basically being so in love with them that their own personal rules, they break them, for them, because they’re so in love. It also helps that my foot can’t stop moving when I hear this song 😅
6. Kehlani: Buttlerfly
This song is soft and inspiring at the same time. Over a soft R&B/Soul vocals and beat that don’t come in until the second chorus, the lyrics talk speak about a metaphor. Comparing the butterfly, to the feeling you feel your stomach when you’re in love with someone, to finally expressing that love to that special someone. It doesn’t help that the outer of the song is exposing how Kehlani understands this feeling when it comes to virgos and how they process this. It’s chill, slow and the vibe is top notch.
7. Toni Braxton: You Mean The World To Me
This song was released in 1993 but I first heard this song this year as well. I was curious one day, because I’m a big fan of Toni Braxton, I just pressed shuffle on all of her music one day and this song started playing. I just started smiling from the groove and her voice that seemed to float over the instrumental. And the lyrics are EVERYTHING! To avoid being redundant and rambling on about what this song does to me, let’s just say is just wedding vows being recited in the best way possible with Toni Braxton singing.
8. Dash Berlin & Jonathan Mendelsohn: Locked Out of Heaven
This EDM song was definitely made for the club. And it’s music to my ears! The fact that is a Bruno Mars cover that’s mixed in with a whole beat symphony basically is everything. The beat mixes in tropical house & dubstep so well. Dash Berlin did a great job with this one.
9. Beyoncé: Sorry - Homecoming Live
This song is in the list because of 2 reasons:
1. Beyoncé released her 2 performances she did at Coachella as a fabulous documentary this year and she released lemonade on Spotify this year FINALLY.
2. Beyoncé did a mashup of this song with “Me, Myself, and I” at Coachella which she released on her 1st solo album “Dangerously in Love”.
I love this version even more because the marching band being the bulk of the beat in the back is genius, having a skit in the middle is great little break if you want a laugh and some motivation all at the same time. I don’t have to summarize the song for y’all, but for the 10% of people who don’t know this song: The song describes a lady catching her partner cheating, and the lady herself moving on with no regrets. It’s the perfect f**k you song is you in your feeling about your significant other.
10. T. Murray & Dr. Maya Angelou: 1:19 AM
This song is pure poetry. PURE POETRY. The groovy R&B poetry slam beat in the background is such a vibe against the poetic voice that is T. Murray. This song is very inspiring. The writer talks of her soul flourishing after a break up. And then asking for everyone else to spread love and not hate. It’s so powerful and groovy and the epitome of soul.
11. Leikeli47: Post That
“Hit that pose, take that flick, check your angle, post that s**t.” Instagram models everywhere, this is the song for you! That line is everything, this song is everything. I swear I get my life every single time this song comes on. By the way, be prepared to “Naomi Campbell walk” down the hallway my fellow gays when this comes on 🥰
12. Todrick Hall: Glitter
This song rang in my soul when that chorus came in. This song has a disco remnant in it that just has me lost in time. The lyrics have a metaphor in it comparing glitter to love and basically he wants all the love from that special person. Just like glitter, he wants it all. When this song was released it was February or March of this year when it was released, but I didn’t hear it until pride month when Todrick released a whole ep: Haus Party Pt. 1. The whole album is a bop, but this and 2 other songs stuck out and I can’t enough of them. This song is definitely timeless, to me at least I don’t know about y’all. Y’all have to listen to it to determine your decision of course.
13. Todrick Hall: Nails, Hair, Hips, Heels
Todrick has placed this song in the LGBTQIA+ hall of fame as the LGBTQIA+ anthem of the year basically. This song oozes with fierceness with that house beat and the lyrics are everything, “I don’t dance ,I work, I don’t play, I slay”, is just a taste of the lyrics. Todrick also wanted to make a song where if you couldn’t to the dancfloor fast enough for the first 2 minutes of the song the last minute will definitely have you on the dance floor. He wanted to make a “Get Me Bodied” replica if you will, and he succeeded and then slayed us all. YAS.
14. Todrick Hall: I Like Boys
This is me, this is all me. I already came out, im not coming out again, but if I ever did, I would just play this song, because it’s basically describing me and what I like ☺️ It doesn’t help that beat is infectious and works so well with the lyrics.
15. Diana Ross: Swept Away
I was swept away, if you will, when I heard this song fully for the first time. I heard part of it on “Pose” on FX. During the first season of the show, which highlights the underground ballroom scene in 1980s New York, 2 groups were doing a dance battle and this song was playing in the background. I didn’t notice it that much the first time I watched that scene, but the second time I was enthralled by it. I “shazamed” the song and it was love ever since then. Ms. Diana Ross slayed with this song and the scene in “Pose” immortalized the song for me as well. The song has this infectious 80s Pop beat in the back and Ms. Ross’s voice just floats over the beat. It’s entrancing, really.
16. Chloe x Halle: who knew (from Grown-ish)
This song is so smoooooth. Chloe and Halle’s voices just floats in this song so well! When I first heard this song I was in a trance listening to this song, just swaying back and forth. Ugh! It’s so good! The beat is a mix of R&B/Soul and African drums, but slow. The lyrics talk about a girl unknowingly falling in love with another person. It talks of fate bringing the 2 people together.
17. Sabrina Carpenter: In My Bed
This song got me by its beat in the chorus, and then the lyrics got me as well. The beat is a good mellow pop beat to start and then it picks up but mellows out even more during the chorus. It’s so chill but so powerful and relatable as well. The lyrics talks of a situation that gets stuck in your head and when you wake up your still thinking about it and your blowing it out of proportion at the same time. It could be a positive or a negative situation, either way she’s still still blowing it up to a size that it’s not meant be. It’s so relatable because I do that so many times and I’m sure a lot of other people do too.
18. Lebo M.: He Lives In You
To be honest I have heard this song before, but this is the first time I’ve heard it in the Zulu language. This song is absolutely gorgeous, powerful, chilling, and goosebump-making. The fact that Lebo M. decided to remake this song in Zulu, is amazing in so many ways. I want to thank Lebo for remaking this in a native African language, and for having The Lion King full of pan-African languages and references. It’s so powerful that Lebo decided to bring this song to life again and make even more inspiring in 2019. This song I recommended that everyone listen to.
19. Jade Novah: Show Out
I didn’t even know this song existed and I’ve been listening to Jade Novah for 3 years now including obsessing over her debut album last year. This is song is so underrated, and I use that word very loosely. This one is truly underrated. It’s melody and core of the song is a circus-inspired string of notes and over that is a hip-hop that’s infused to perfection over that. The lyrics are no-less than perfection. It’s inspiring using the circus to say show us what you got that’s so awesome. It’s telling you to show out. To show the world what is so special about you, what makes you different. I’m still obsessing over this song. And probably will forever obsess over this song.
20. Beyoncé: BIGGER
The fact that Beyoncé released a lion king inspired album and put a bunch of voice-overs from The Lion King itself in between songs to introduce the next song is absolute perfection. And she has African influences all over this album. Furthermore, this song is no-less than perfection and African inspired. The intro that came before is perfect for the introduction of this song, and this is the first song on the album. And it’s the perfect 1st song on an album like this. It’s powerful, chilling and, inspirational. The beat first and foremost, has African drums in it, which is appropriate. Over the drums is Beyoncé vocalizing in the background and a orchestra that melds so beautifully together to create this masterpiece. “Life is your birthright, they hid that in the fine print. Take the pen and rewrite it.” EVERYTHING. The lyrics seem personal to Beyoncé but also relatable to our lives as well. I almost cried listening to this song for the first time. This song could save a few lives. I’m so serious, this song could save lives. “You are a part of something way bigger.” And we are. Our lives, our problems are nothing compared to what’s happening around us, and our world. Look past, from what you see in the mirror. Look outside up in the sky, the universe, that’s you, the Stars, that’s you too. That’s us, all of us. We are all meant to do big things. Step outside of your little box and thing bigger. You might be surprised what you find out.
Even though some of these song I said already I recommend you listen to, all of these songs are worthy of at least one listen. Some of these a couple of listens. Well that was my top 20 songs of the first half of 2019. There’s so many songs I was unable to just strip it down to 20 songs of the whole year. Plus 40 songs at one time, is way too long. So, enjoy, and remember to always:
Eat
Slay
Live
Love
Laugh
&
Repeat.

this kind of depends on whether u as a person believe there are things that you can get over/accept/move on from etc but like: chloe price. the girl hasn’t gotten over anything.
we meet her at a point in her life where a bunch of other shit is going on including dealing with literal superpowers/(super)natural disasters ((but also like, things like having feelings for ur childhood best friend, trying to find ur missing best friend, trying to work out what the fuck’s going on with the drugging and corruption in the local school lol, etc)) so. there are so many focuses. although a massive chunk of the story is largely centered around chloe, and max’s relationship with chloe, and the lengths max would go to for chloe-- chloe doesn’t have a massive character arc? she doesn’t? like, people wanna say things like, oh yeah she was Selfish at the start and then was willing to sacrifice herself for the sake of the town-- girl, she wants to die either way. she’s depressed and suicidal. her saying that she’s okay with max letting her die at the end isn’t some massive Character Development. maybe dontnod wanted it to be? but they suck so much that honestly their whole vision of what they wanted to portray is just messy garbage, unfortunately, so i can’t tell if they did or not. but anyways point is: they failed. regardless. they didn’t portray the message that chloe, as a character, had been fully developed and could be put to the side like ‘yes, this is a Complete character right here, we done good lads, we told her story’. they just Dint!!!!
yes, chloe is one of the more developed and more consistent characters in the game, i do think they did a good job with a lot of her writing (except her fate, and how they didn’t want to give her a happy ending). but! g o d! one of the reasons why she’s so good is because she’s so rich and multidimensional? they give her this backstory (i don’t care if ppl say it’s clichéd like i just don’t care, i already give dontnod a ton of shit but i won’t give them shit for chloe’s backstory being tropey, her teen/childhood pain is too relatable for me to bash) that’s Painful and Show us this girl with so many issues and problems and... she’s just so wonderful and, playing as max, you’re meant to grow to just Care for her so much and you can SEE how much max cares for her so you. want to see her happy? you want her to be okay, and for issues to be resolved, and so on. but............. y’know... when you reach the ending..... they’re so. ignored. they’re just brushed to the side? and i really doubt dontnod have the capacity for it to just be symbolic of the message “sometimes you just have to push issues to the side and deal with One Big Important thing for the Greater Good”. they’re just....... well, they’re careless. they’re lazy too but like in this situation they literally ran out of money (like, literally) and couldn’t make ep 5 as long/developed as they wanted to. soooo.... all chloe’s shit got pushed to the side. and the only Chloe thing that matters at the end is her willingness to sacrifice herself for the town. which is sad. and just implies that in the sac bay ending, she would have a lot of personal issues to sort through in ADDITION to the fucking issues that arise from letting your girlfriend watch as a tornado destroys the town. ‘for you’. shit’s fucked up dude.
but ALSO. this Also implies. like, in the sort of happy everything’s fine AU that we all like to believe in where ep 5 just didn’t happen-- chloe’d still have a lot of shit to deal with? and i’m not just talking about her mental illness bc i talk about that all the time; i was actually thinking about william in particular before making this post. chloe is Fucked Up about william. and it’s been. 5 years. it’s her dad, of course she’d be fucked up for years, but like. it’s still affecting her A Lot. her breakdown in ep 3 was triggered by rachel cheating shit, fueled by her thinking everyone betrays her, and we’re meant to believe the Root of it is because of william (i know it might’ve seemed like it was just for plot purposes, and i guess it kinda was, but i’ll be nice and lenient for dontnod for once and believe ‘em). aaaand. then of course there’s the arbitrary episode 4 bullshit that’s completely unnecessary and mildly ableist and just for Shock Factor and so on- which. completely uses up a part of the game that could’ve been used for talking through her william stuff or. Anything. something. i don’t know. thing is, we come back from that universe and are thinking like, alright, william’s GOTTA be dead so we’ve accepted that but. chloe hasn’t? the only sort of indication that chloe has even thought about it since is her text that’s her apologizing for freaking out, and still, like. that does NOT imply she’s worked through it in any way, she’s just. calmed down. not breaking down anymore.
also back to main canon and not inc. happy au: we’re meant to get some kind of resolution/acceptance when we find rachel dead, like that’s just another one of chloe’s issues (and the story’s plot points) ‘completed’. chloe doesn’t even get the time to GRIEVE before she’s murdered herself. she’s resurrected in the next episode, then she briefly talks about rachel getting revenge, and max making things right for rachel or w/e, but it’s not enoughhhhhhh. it’s just not enoughhh. we play the whole game with this secondhand desire/mission/motivation to find rachel (for chloe!!!!) and then... nothin! nada! like 1/3 of chloe’s character is rachel-related and we don’t even get to see her Properly react or talk about it except for crying and then wanting to kill who did it (which... wow, yes. that was kinda powerful and telling for characterization, i’ll admit, but STILL probably the rushed-ness of it was unintentional on dontnod’s part and not actually to do with chloe’s quick harsh emotions and reactions. an accidental good thing). there was such a build up to... nothing. and i don’t think it was deliberate
and. she hasn’t gotten over max leaving her either :_) she.... she hasn’t. dont get me wrong i LOVE how she puts it to the side really quickly and forgives her Just Like That and still fucking falls in love with her (bc it’s so THEM, it’s so pricefield) but ... that’s. largely because chloe desperately needs max at this point in her life. and like literally every single fear of abandonment/betrayal chloe harbors has been influenced by max leaving like THE GIRL JUST AINT OVER IT even in the future their relationship is still gonna be a tiny tiny bit insecure for chloe bc she’s worried she’ll be left again or Not Good Enough or anything (like, duh she’ll figure out that max isn’t gonna leave again, and she really does love her, but still. those annoying feelings are real and STILL THERE). that’s Fucked her up good! she’s just a fucked up girl! whom i love.
chloe has soooo many !!!!!! Personal Issues that just aren’t fully explored in lis.... and it’s disappointing but .... not the worst, i guess, because she is the best character in the game and the rest of the stuff To Do With Her can maybe make up for it. and yeah, it would take years to work through some of this stuff so i know it’s impractical to expect it to all be ‘’solved’’ in the game or whatever but like.... some further acknowledgement of underlying issues and insecurities remaining after a while..... would be nice. lmao this post wasn’t even meant to be critical of lis/dontnod at first it was literally me just trying to say “chloe hasn’t gotten over shit” lol. like, she’s just Coped Unhealthily for years and years. ignored things, resorted to Bad Shit, gotten in nasty messes, and didn’t give a shit about it bc she didn’t give a shit about herself.lbr this fucked up Lass is more fucked up than she lets on

UNDER THE RADAR: OCTOBER 2019
Tumblr media
Under the Radar is coming nice and early! This month's (not-so-spooky) selection of tunes are courtesy of Peach Luffe, Pacific Colours, Hotel Mira, Zoe Marie Welch, Zach Benson, and WASHERS.
1) Peach Luffe - “Wave”
“Somedays I want out, somedays she wants out,” both sides of a story, a complex relationship that has its share of trials. Peach Luffe’s (fronted by Toronto’s Jong Lee) “Wave” sounds of candy floss, sweet and soulful – smooth edges that fall between psychedelic indie and DIY bedroom pop. It has gentle yet crisp instrumentation, production giving layers that reveal an emotional depth. The landscape provided is simple observations, often difficult to admit to oneself or another.
I love the melancholic groove, it’s easy to find yourself swaying to the track while love (or rather, lack of) is on the mind. Is it just a ripple in a longer story, or have we met an end?

2) Pacific Colours - “Beach”
If you’ve been reminiscing about the summer since fall has arrived, you’re not alone. Pacific Colours’ indie/surf rock cut “Beach” is your answer for those blues (unless of course, we’re talking fresh ocean water). It’s fun, uncomplicated, and simplistic in lyricism (“We’ve been working so hard now, let’s take a break”). It doesn’t lend itself to being misinterpreted, and it’s relatable for anyone needing to take a breather. Driven by dynamic electric guitar and upright bass riffs, lead vocalist Spencer Hiemstra lets his laid-back, conversational tone shine through.
If you miss the rays of sunshine, and the freedom of the sand beneath your feet – relive those feelings in the vacation happy “Beach.”

3) Hotel Mira - “This Could Be It For Me”
Enigmatic frontman Charlie Kerr has called this song “a battle cry for help,” and it’s easy to see what he means. While the lyrics are often a bit bleak – specifically the line “If it’s not tonight, then it’s still on my mind… how nice,” where he refers to struggles with depression and suicidal thoughts – the song as a whole is actually really upbeat and danceable, especially the chorus. And the message in the end is optimistic. In Charlie’s own words, “what makes it a battle cry and not a full wall-to-wall downer is that I am asking if anyone else feels this way and that has, in my past, been my best strategy for feeling less alone in the world."

4) Zoe Marie Welch - “Turn on the Lights”
“Turn on the Lights” is a poised musical debut from Zoe Marie Welch, whom has already exercised passions in both dance and theatre.
Easing right into her bluesy R&B, Welch sings of opening her heart to an individual who ultimately doesn’t feel that same connection. Her vocals are smooth, passionate – keys playing to a classic sound with the spunk of her youth. “All I got to say is that I’m thankful / I’m thankful that I know today,” she says, pulling what’s worthwhile from the situation into a cozy, dimly lit dance hall. Welch’s four-song EP As Promised is out now.

5) Zach Benson - “everything reminds me of u”
Memories stay, even when the people in them don’t. Zach Benson’s “everything reminds me of u” is a testament to that—unflinching, house-tinged pop in the same vein as MUNA or The 1975. Saturated piano and distorted vocals liven the nostalgia; a trip home evoking the highs and lows of a past relationship (“I thought you were a memory / but now I'm here again”). Part confessional, wholly anthemic, “everything reminds me of u” is a danceable addition to the New York-based artist’s catalogue. Nothing says goodbye to summer like flickering reverb and a racing heart.

6) WASHERS - “Oak Hill”
Rambunctious and unpredictable, “Oak Hill” is the perfect introduction to noise rockers WASHERS. There’s so much energy in the first minute of this track, the way it builds, drums, bass, then two guitars picking furiously. For the rest of the track we’re presented with an eight-minute opus that pulls the listener through an expansive sonic landscape of tempo changes, breakdowns, and unpredictable shifts in tone. The track grows into peaks of epic guitar layers, only to subside momentarily before ramping things up again. It’s a powerful performance, with a lot of the emotion of the song being communicated through the guitars. It’s the kind of song that I can just imagine being performed live. They do a great job at capturing their energy on this recording.
