as much as I love 141 medieval au's here the reader is a noble lady saved from her marriage or some lone townswomans rescued by the group of knights (looking @ my own nun!reader in this) I do love the notion of a lady knight.

A badass woman with no name or backstory that's taken up the life of a sellsword- who scoffs at the notion of "honor" when spilling blood on your blade- death is death. Honor means nothing for God or king.

Her hair is cut close to her scalp, because it's all too easy for somebody to grab a handful of those soft locks and be at the perfect position to slit her throat in a fight. Covered in scars and carried by aching bones that broke years ago but never quite healed properly.

Maybe Price is a king who sees this helmeted figure fighting at a tourney for his name day and asks for their name- their noble house only to learn you have none. Simply a desire for the money awarded to the winner.

Maybe Gaz is beloved prince who often sneaks out from his guards nose to mingle with the common folk- who enjoys sitting in a tavern with others and singing songs while drinking ale with a pretty little thing on his lap until he's walking back to the palace and finds a blade at his neck in a dark alley as you warn him that noblebloods should never walk unaccompanied- it makes the job far too easy.

Maybe a beautiful noble lady is sent to stay under the eye of a royal family in discussion for marriage- when the house offers to gift her one for their personal guards of the 141, she insists she more than happy with her own- you. The silent armor-clad figure standing close to her side. (yes I miss domentzia. she's my wife and always will be).

After spending so much time watching dimension 20 I seriously don’t think I’ll ever be able to tolerate regular tv. My little gay heart has never seen this kind of queer representation in tv and it is nourishing my soul. And queerness is never the butt of any joke and the characters experiencing and figuring out their sexualities isn’t always sad and dramatic.

I have never related to something so much. This silly show of just a bunch of cool actor friends playing D&D has probably changed my life: I feel like I know who I am better now???

I am eternally grateful to Brennan Lee Mulligan and literally every person involved in Dimension 20 for giving us this show and this outlet to figure ourselves out. Also gonna be eternally annoyed with Dimension 20 every time I have to watch a straight romcom - give me gay wizards and fairies and candy people any day

putting aside the filler arcs in the anime between alabasta and sky island, robin has only been with the straw hats for 2 or 3 days by the time they reach skypeia

the first day we see her slide right into the crew, knowing each member's personality well enough to not raise a big fuss over her being there while also proving how useful she is, something i'm sure she had to do over and over, pleasing and proving that she can be kept around so she can continue on surviving for her dream

after alabasta she was ready to die, tired of this life style, but luffy decided to go against her verbal wishes and save her anyway, and in return she decided to make herself his problem by thrusting herself into his crew ....only to find out that she actually likes being with them

the straw hats aren't like most pirates, they don't plot or seek out destruction, they just want to explore the new islands and seek adventure on the seas

robin tried to bring the straw hats into her own pace by slipping into the crew, but in the end she was the one who fell into their pace and in love with the crew, giving her a peace of mind she hasn't had in a long time and the freedom to be completely and freely, herself without having to prove her existence or usefulness

juan loves lucrezia too much in his own peculiar ways. he is fiercely protective of her and becomes hideously jealous when any man comes near her. he was even spiteful and mean to her upon learning about her and paolo. and after killing him, he remained remorseless. however, at the same time, it still pains him that he hurt her, as he never meant to do so. his impulsiveness often takes over, causing him to act or speak without thinking it through. he feels so torn between apologizing to her and his pride that prevents him from doing so. because he truly believed he did the right thing as he thought lucrezia and paolo's relationship would bring shame to the family. yet, he tries to make it up to her by gifting her a rare panther and attempting to win her over but she'll always hate him for what he did to paolo, and that drove him even more insane.

Sanuso T4T hits so good no matter in which direction. Canon adjacent transmasc Sanji and Transmasc Usopp? They literally laid eyes on each other and just went “Wow, what a dreamboat” they get each others insecurities, they both work on figuring out what being a man means to them instead of relying on someone else. Transmasc Sanji and Transfem Usopp? Sanji is her biggest cheerleader. He lays it on extra thick with her and she loves it, thinking he’s just indulging her and trying to make her feel good (it’s working) but he’s actually so deeply in love with her and he shows it in the only way he knows how to. Meanwhile he’s her Prince Charming, not only the most handsome man she has ever seen but also her best friend and such a good person even tough the world has been so awful to him. If anyone makes him feel like less of a man she’s gonna fucking snipe them immediately. Transmasc Usopp and Transfemme Sanji? Make way for protective boyfriend Usopp who just immediately knows when his girlfriend is doubting herself and has been trough something like this before, so he is more than ready to lend an ear and share his experiences and she’s just so overjoyed because while it’s not the same there are some things where Usopp just GETS it. And other times he doesn’t quite get it but when she starts to spiral downward he just always seems to know what to do and how to make her laugh and just kick her self doubt straight in the ass. Meanwhile he’s just as equally smitten and wants to give her the world. Transfemme Sanji and Transfemme Usopp? I feel like there’s not even much I can add here because there has already been said so much but goddamn the transbian experience of it all. The soft butch four futch or the high femme for butch or hard femme for femme or WHATEVER the energy they have it’s just all lovely and perfect and I wish girls were real! They are so in love. The love each other so much and their crew loves them so much and Zeff shed manly tears when he walked his “idiot eggplant daughter” down the aisle I just know it .

Basically, Sanuso is great in any shape or form because they have so much chemistry it works with every gender and sexuality you headcanon for them. My personal favorite is either Transfem Sanuso (I like women a lot, don't laugh at the lesbian here. I have my reasons) and Transfem Sanji x Transmasc Usopp because those headcanons are my favorite for them and I think that they'd be the cutest fucking thing in the universe of ships. "Protect traditional marriage" when Sanji screams and cries when she sees a bug and Usopp moves it away (never kills it) for her. And "Girlboss x Malewife" whenever Sanji kicks somebody's butt for her boyfriend bc big big monster wanted hand-to-hand combat and Usopp is not built for that type of fight. They fit the whole "I'll do what you can't" thing perfectly in this one, I think. My beloveds.

historical fashion question: what is your favorite period for fashion(including location, you may specify womens or mens or something more specific)? also favorite piece of historical clothing? cause tie on pockets fuck hard

I had to think to whittle down to favorites, haha. My favorite period for fashion is Edwardian/Late Victorian and Ancient Greek. I'm a huge sucker for the Late Victorian curved silhouette, and I really like the loose, pinned/tied functionality of the Greek chiton. Probably women's fashion for the Victorian era, but all genders for Greek. I'm also a huge sucker for colorful men's clothing of any nationality ~1730-1800, but I think that's just because I like color in general~

Favorite piece of historical clothing: maybe the maternity corset.

It SOUNDS counterintuitive, but it's still functional for back pain and bust support during pregnancy, and there are other versions for jumps and stays throughout history. I'm definitely not an expert on them, but I love esoteric, forgotten undergarments; I wish they got a little more limelight in fashion history.

Pride and Prejudice (2005) - in my top 5 favorite movies, top 4 on letterboxd, even! (my letterboxd is “batb2017” hehe, feel free to follow if you’re there!) but yeah just a gorgeous piece of cinema. an absolute work of art your honor.

Rosaline (2022) - perfect for your url, this is a comedic take on romeo & juliet. it’s from the perspective of juliet’s cousin rosaline. honestly it’s so funny and has a great romance too. it is fully canon romeo & juliet in my mind now lol

Enola Holmes (2020) & Enola Holmes 2 (2022) - both GREAT movies, highly recommend. romance is a secondary factor for sure, but i think they’re both so wonderful and enola is an incredibly charming main character. (+ henry cavill is absolutely my new favorite sherlock holmes, and this is coming from someone who used to be obsessed with bbc sherlock haha)

Little Women (2019) - also just so stunning!!! i have nothing against the 1994 version, for the record, i simply have not seen it yet lol.

Belle (2013) - a wonderful story & romance, and based on a true story! definitely absolutely worth a watch.

Titanic (1997) - i’m sure we’ve all seen this but hey, it deserves to be here. it’s not among my absolute favorites but it’s a great story.

Outlaw King (2018) - this film is definitely more about the scottish war against england (i’m paraphrasing bc i don’t remember the official name of this war) so if medieval war movies aren’t your thing that’s very valid. BUT!!! there is a sweet romance mixed in there that keeps me coming back for a rewatch <3

Emma (2020) - i didn’t LOVE this one but i did like it a good amount. it’s sweet and fun and certainly worth the watch.

The Man Who Invented Christmas (2017) - i just watched this like two days ago and it’s not a romance, it’s just about charles dickens and how he wrote a christmas carol. but i personally loved it and found it funny/relatable as a writer, so you may enjoy! and perfect for the season!!

AND! here is a list of movies that i have not seen, but are on my watchlist. so i can’t vouch for their quality, this is just to say they have intrigued me (or been recommended to me) and i will watch them some day haha.

Jimmy walking across the heather fields to Sea… Ok, I'm kidding😄 One of the 100 plots for JS is the plot of Shakespeare's The Taming of the Shrew, only removing the leitmotif of "marriage" and "wives must be obedient" and replacing it with something else. I don't even know which of the two of them would be organic in the role of stubborn "Kat". Sea is asking for it ofc but Jimmy… Jimmy has this diamond of stubbornness hidden in him, I'm sure.

SCREECHING AT A FREQUENCY ONLY BATS CAN HEAR OH MY GOD ANON I WOULD LOVE A MODERN BL RETAKE OF THE TAMING OF THE SHREW Á LA 10 THINGS I HATE ABOUT YOU WITH JIMMY IN THE ROLE OF KATHERINA/KAT AND SEA IN THE ROLE OF PETRUCHIO/PATRICK IT WOULD GIVE US THE FLIRTY SEA CHARACTER WE SO DESPERATELY NEED

i’ve actually been trying SO HARD in these past couple of days to come up with a good plot for it because i really want to add it in my 100 jimmysea series list, but im having a hard time thinking of one that could work well enough, because i don’t want to do just a copy/paste of the play or even of 10 things i hate about you. im currently stuck on two main ideas:

1) a modern retake where jimmy is a CEO who took over his father’s company after his death and also became his younger brother’s legal guardian. jimmy is very strict and protective when it comes to his brother, and they often end up arguing because jimmy basically scares away every single one of his brother’s dates, both men and women alike. jimmy himself seems to only be interested in his work, so his brother comes up with the idea to ‘hire’ his best friend’s cousin, sea, who’s famous to be a big flirt, to seduce jimmy in the hope that being in a relationship will make jimmy become less strict, but also happier.

2) a period piece where, as the first son, jimmy is supposed to inherit the family’s land and marry well, but he’s not really interested in either, and the only reason he’s willing to do that is because of his sense of duty. finding him a suitable wife, however, proves to be difficult, because his stubborn and serious disposition chases all the potential suitors away. on the opposite, his younger brother is cheerful and charming, but he resents jimmy for not appreciating the privileges he has. when their father ends up arranging the marriage between jimmy and the woman who jimmy's younger brother fell in love with, he (jimmy's brother) comes up with a plan: he convinces the woman's brother, sea, that jimmy would not treat her well, and knowing both jimmy's and sea's preferences, he also persuades sea to seduce jimmy, with the aim of making their father disown jimmy.

in both cases of course sea ends up falling in love with jimmy for real and there's a lot of angst when jimmy finds out, but eventually there's the happy ending
