I don’t think Nanami would ever be the romantically jealous type. I can see him getting platonic jealousy, for instance, if a SO goes to a place they wanted to go for a very long time with a friend first. That would get him upset. But romantically jealous? Not so much. He probably sees the relationship in the light of “if she/he is with me, it’s because she/he loves me just like I love her/him. There’s no need to be insecure about it” (I love a self-assured man 🫦)

"I still can't believe you've been on Broadway for a month and I'm only finding out about this today," Jason said in disbelief as he sat beside me on my couch. This show called Hadestown just opened a few weeks ago on Broadway, and I was the understudy for Eurydice herself. I haven't told most of my friends yet except a few of my closest ones. And today, I finally told my boyfriend.

"You're not mad at me, are you?"

He cupped my cheeks and kissed my nose playfully. "Of course not! I'm proud of you, baby. But I'd really want to see you up on stage. And I'm pretty sure the rest of us would like to see you perform live, too."

I took his hands and pressed them to my lips. "I work on weekends, so you guys could see me this Saturday."

Jason leaned forward and pressed his lips to mine. "I'm looking forward to it."

I leaned into his chest as his hands played with my hair. The silence was comforting. It's the type of comfort that you get from sitting down and stretching your legs after a stroll around the city.

After what seemed like hours, I sat up and lead him to the piano. I sat on the piano bench, motioning for him to sit beside me. "Come on, I wanna share something with you."

"What's this?" He asked curiously, although obliging to my request as he sat beside me.

I raised the lid of the piano keys and set my phone on the music stand. I talked to him as I setup the livestream on my non-demigod account. "Well, at least once a week since I've started doing professional theater, I go live on Instagram and just catch up with the fans, or maybe even sing a few songs. And, I don't know. Do you maybe, want to be in this one?"

He looked at me in shock. He opened his mouth to say something, and ended up smiling instead. "I-I... Yes! O-Of course I want to do this with you!"

You had the widest grin as you gave him a peck. You started the livestream and saw that fans were joining in by the tens to the hundreds. They started commenting on the livestream, saying how excited they were to see you again. A handful of them were already intrigued by the new blond boy that was sitting next to you.

"That's a lot of people." Jason scanned the flurry of comments as he ran a hand up and down your back.

"Hey guys," you smiled at the audience sweetly, which was a softer side of you that Jason rarely saw. Sure, you were sweet and kind and friendly, but the way you interacted with fans was something that Jason wasn't used to, especially because he only found out half an hour ago that his girlfriend is on the road to stardom. "You wanna introduce yourself, Jase? They're getting really curious about you."

Jason smiled and waved at the camera. "Hey guys, I'm Jason and I'm y/n's boyfriend." He wrapped his arms around your waist and placed his chin on his shoulder, causing you to giggle.

"So," you said at the camera, "Jason here only found out a few minutes ago that, um, I have been on a little Broadway show that you might know as Hadestown. He hasn't seen the show or listened to the album yet. So, I'm going to play him one of my favorite songs from the show."

You turn to kiss Jason's cheek and start to play the first bars on the piano as you talk (just like in the video above). At this point, everyone was commenting how cute of a couple you were. "And I think you're gonna like it, too, Jase."

You started singing the song, pouring your heart out into every word. As you sang, memories of your relationship with Jason flashed in your mind, fueling the emotions you brought to the song. You remembered how you survived all those years of questing at camp, especially the Titan War. You thought of how you've survived so much that you never realized how much you needed someone to hold you through the nightmares, someone to kiss your bandaged wounds. You've braved the dangers of the world and you've never realized how lonely, scared and cold you felt at times until Jason came into your life and he wrapped you in a warm embrace full of love.

Jason felt the same way. Listening to you sing made him subconsciously tighten his embrace and snuggle closer into your neck. Your siren-like singing entranced him, making him think of how much love you were pouring out right now—truth be told, he couldn't fathom how people were capable of giving so much love to someone as much as the both of you loved each other. The emotions hit him hard as a brick, and he knew how that felt. He was on cloud nine, and he felt like he could just faint and melt into a puddle anytime.

He glanced at the comments as you continued to sing: "they are sooo freaking cute together", "get you a guy who looks at u the way jason looks at y/n", "if this isn't goals then idk what is", and so on.

After what felt like an eternity in heaven, you sang the last few lines of the songs and looked at Jason. He had a lovestruck expression in his eyes at he looked at you with a dopey grin. His glasses slid lower down his nose. You pushed them back up and poked his cheeks a few times to see if he was still there.

"Earth to Jase," you teased.

"Gods, you're amazing," he muttered as he kissed your cheek. The audience was going wild at this point. Honestly, you probably also had the same lovestruck look in your eyes, and everyone else could see how the two of you looked at each other.

You playfully pecked his lips and whispered an 'I love you' before turning back to the camera. "Okay," you breathed out with a grin, "so, um, that's it for this week I guess. I'll see you guys next week, or this weekend if you're coming to see the show. Good night guys, love y'all!"

Jason waved to the camera as you ended the stream. Now it was back to the two of you again in your apartment. You faced him, he still had that soft look in his eyes. Before you could say anything, he placed a finger under your chin and pressed his lips softly on yours. You melted into the kiss—no tongue, no movement, just a soft kiss that lasted for what felt like forever. If the song was your expression of how kuch you loved him, this was his expression to you. It held just as much love, maybe even more, as the song you serenaded him to.

He pulled away and grinned at you. "I can't wait to see the show on Saturday."

Your hand moved to caress his cheek. "Know that I'll sing that song with you in my mind. And I'll want to find you in the crowd so I can meet your eyes at least once so I can pretend like I'm singing it to you."

He smiled at your words. "I'll look forward to it, baby. I love you with all my heart, y/n. You have no idea how lovesick I am for you right now. You're crazy talented, like you just told me how much you loved me in a song, and you never even said the word love!"

His comments made you giggle. "Well, you did manage to take my breath away with that last kiss. And to be honest, you have no idea how much I've fallen in love again with you just now. You make me happy, Jason. And I can't remember how I even felt before I met you. I love you, Jase."

The two of you went back to cuddling on the couch, your e/c eyes would stare at his blue ones for hours. He would rub circles on your lower back and you would steal kisses every now and then. It was that sense of comfort again, amidst the bustling city of New York, you found a haven in each other's arms.

As long as you stayed with each other, you hoped that it would always be like this.

first of all, i’d like to say this fic really had me missing my friends. i remember doing the exact same thing not for dates but for a video assignment bc we're all happily single yessir now all i wanna do is stream netflix with them and hang out when this quarantine is over and i really appreciate you writing this even though i did say my fave ship is nova x friends djdfjsksjd i enjoy romance, but there's a severe lack of friendship-centric fics out there which is tragic for my platonic love starved self, and i don't know how to comment without saying thank you every other sentence, so now here's my even less composed commentary:

i vibe with narcissa flinching bc of what danna said. i, too, fear that my loved ones are secretly annoyed by me. it's tiny, but manages to flesh out their dynamic even by a bit, especially with danna noticing and comforting her.

i've also had hair straighteners very close to my face. this part brought back flashbacks, really put me in the scene.

how cute of nova and her friends to all be clueless about this #solidarity

i dont know why but my mind was completely present and focused when nova's outfit was getting described. i saw nova with that pan bottom to top camera, the pose and snap editing—

lastly, i love how the entire squad's dynamic panned out! nova's still a bit awkward but trying in her own way. ruby's laid back with the occasional side comment. narcissa, despite being the last one to join the gang, seems to blend in naturally with the rest. with danna i had to back-read because i should've expected they still weren't complete bffs. (am i wrong to wish tho...) she jokes around, but does keep some distance. although it's bittersweet, i kinda it that way. makes me look forward to their development as friends, earning back that trust and whatnot.

overall i rate it: all* the heart emojis i got on my phone 💘💝💖💗💓💞💕💌❣️❤️🧡💛💚💙💜💟

In the moment those words slipped out of Danna’s mouth, Narcissa flinched. A very mild, yet noticeable gesture that made Nova scoff, although Danna remained unbothered. 

“Not you, babe. You’re hot but you’re not annoying and I love you.”

Nova considered punching her in the arm, but then she realized that wasn’t a very smart thing to do. After all, Danna was the one with a straightener in her hands, very, VERY close to her face.
