pledging for GYWO 2024 is open! I’ve pledged again - I’ve done GYWO since 2012 and this year is the second year I’ve completed a pledge (first time was in 2018) though I’ve come close a few times and also some years fallen very short of the mark.

There are several pledge types and throughout the year (and the month) there are various voluntary activities one can participate in to stay motivated. Only mandatory thing is the formal check-in every month.

I’ve seen whispers on here wrt people wanting to check out or go back to dreamwidth; if you are writing minded then this community could be a great way to use dreamwidth more actively and connect with people.

january update ✨

happy new year! for once i did Not start the year sick, and it's been a surprisingly good month for writing so far.

some miscellaneous updates:

i pledged for get your words out for the first time this year! i went with the smallest habit pledge at 120 days, since i have no idea what 2024 is gonna throw at me but i'd still like to keep writing when i can. i've already worked 9/10 days for this month, so off to a great start 🎉

i opened sweetheart bingo over at @sweetspicybingo

i started posting my winter break advent stuff, and still have a bit more to go 🏃‍♂️

i started using writer bot on discord and i don't usually track word count nowadays but honestly. the whole project manager and xp system is fueling me

things that i am for sure posting within the rest of january:

6 more winter break advent fics, all of which are nu: carnival

2 more moodboards and an icon set for the remaining creation challenges

other things on the horizon:

would like to write something for blade bonanza, happening the first week of february

just got my assignment for the candy hearts exchange, posting in early february

waiting for an assignment for the seasons of drabbles exchange, posting at the end of january

hoping to get a bingo on my own sweetheart bingo card at some point during february

what else i've been working on:

finally writing that introductory fic for pain management, my nu: carnival hero/villain au 👀 i've decided that instead of one long fic it would better serve me to write my little connected one shots i love so much more. but since this fic is kinda setting the premise it'll probably be like 2-3 chapters

i am thinking about genloss again. it's in my brain. that is all
