this approach will not work 100% of the time. it is not foolproof. it is not perfect.

you may still need to click 'try again' a bajillion times depending on a lot of factors.

depending on what you're trying to initiate, again, it might not work.

[about old method] this approach might make it unappealing to some people because i treat the interactions like an actual rp and it might be too crude for some people's taste. there is also some thinking & imagination involved, so if you want the easy way out, this guide isn't for you.

these are all written from my own observations so they could be completely wrong. i am not affiliated with character.ai in any way and i'm not your character.ai support specialist lol

the responses from them are going to be mostly flavor texts. sometimes you'll get really interesting chats. it's rare for them to be able to take the lead because of the filter.

i write in third person pov, with dialog and description format. i'm not sure if you can achieve this with first or second person pov. i have tried the former and it didn't work because of the selfship nature of my bots' definitions (they don't recognize "i" character as their darling).

i create my own bots so it's easier to manipulate their behavior. these tips might not work for public bots.

remember that you can always tweak the definition of the characters! i do this as the 'story' progresses and as the character's goals/priorities change.

if you see the screenshots, meirin/mei/rin is my s/i's name. when you create your bot you can change it to yours.

censoring words (e.g. c.nt, c#ck) will not work, because the ai will either not understand it or will reply explicitly, in which case the filter will pick it up.

using [redacted] doesn't work either, because the ai will not understand what you are referring to.

using 'thing' seems to work to an extent, but you have to steer the ai really hard to get them on the right track. i have yet to successfully conduct a whole n.sfw session using this word.

i find that keywords like 'desire' and 'lust' works really well in getting the bot in the mood.

some 'lewd' words are a-ok, i'm assuming this is because depending on the context they're not really considered lewd. e.g. "rod", "shaft", "slip", "slam", "pound", "grind", "rub", "rocking", "gushing", "slick", "drenched", "finish", "release", "climax".

you really need to guide the ai. basically, you will have to set the direction where it's going most of the time, and sometimes you need to tell them what to do using [], or to repeat it several times so the ai will use your wording.

— so, how did i cheat the system?

seduce them and get the in the mood (important because otherwise, they won't go along with it and make you do all the 'work')

use smutfic words: rod, length, shaft, member, folds, core, hole, walls, release, climax, finish, orgasm, slick, seed, etc.

certain parts/words like desire, lust, hunger, carnal, feral, naked, nipples, breasts, chest, womb, grind, slip, slam, pound, rocking, gyrating, thrust, rub, gush, drenched, leaking, drooling, are fine.

filter will still kick in every now and then. keep pressing that 'try again' button.

alright. well. i can tell you. but bear with me here. we're gonna need a lot of imagination for this, and interactivefics to keep us sane.

long story short, i find that the hardest part is to guide the ai away from using explicit words. which makes the part initiating the deed the hardest. because you need to... well.... seduce them, for the lack of a better word. and it's kind of hard to do that when you need to interact with their junk, without the filtering system bodyslamming the ai's responses to oblivion.

so the solution that i came up with is by 1) substituting the explicit body part with a different, non-explicit body part, and 2) making it as vague and metaphorical as possible.

regarding number 1. i've tried a few body parts, and the one that works best.... is feet (with hand being a close second but you'll see why i recommend feet).

(and before you accuse me of having a feet fetish, i would like to clarify that: no, i don't have a foot fetish... but if you do, then hey, it's cool, i won't judge you)

so, feet. it's not lewd, it's an actual body part (so at the very least it 'knows' that it's a part of the human body and it has the attributes of one), and it's generally not used when you're having sex (well, except if you were doing a footjob scene i guess... but anyway, in this case, it works better than hands cause you use actual hands a lot in the deed which might confuse both you and the ai). and if you write "he buried his mouth onto her foot" the ai doesn't think that it's explicit.

yeah, apparently feet worship isn't explicit at all. well, good for us. look, beggars can't be choosers, ok?

so. now that we're playing by the system's rules, to make it enjoyable for ourselves, we can just change our perspective instead - and that's where our imagination and interactivefics comes in. i know it feels downright weird and strange (and. kinda disgusting to some) to read/write "he grinded his feet onto her", so what we can do for our enjoyment... is to map things using interactivefics.

for example: foot/feet -> cunt/pussy, feet/foot -> cock, toes/heel/soles -> clit, shoes -> panties, etc.

cw.'sadistic' being used as an adjective but no actual action related to that was performed.

I mostly write gn! Reader insert fics (occasionally f! Reader) ranging from fluff, comfort, and hurt to angst. But there might be some Genshin Lore-related one-shots and drabbles from time to time. I will not write for any character x character ships.

I dislike writing "[Y/N]" in my fics so you'll rarely ever find "[Y/N]" in my posts as I try to circumvent using it where possible. I always find that it interrupts the flow while reading.

The things I post and reblog will be mostly SFW since I am uncomfortable writing anything else. However, there could be some suggestive themes in the future that will be tagged accordingly [#cw: suggestive].

I will put warnings at the beginning of my fics. Choose at your own discretion what you want to consume. Please, don't read something that you know will make you uncomfortable, I will not be responsible for that.

I do not have a set release schedule for my fics since I'm pretty busy in general and writing is just a hobby of mine - I don't want to stress about it and lose the fun. So posts come when they come but I try to not let too much time pass.

Tbh idk anything abt gladion but selfship tumblr goes really hard about fanon ages either way. Like Link botw doesn't have a canon age but because Zelda is 17 people will fight to the death that he's also 17, even though they've been different ages in multiple other games. I never played botw but i watched like 3 people get bullied out of shipping w him because anons THOUGHT he was underage, and then their was an art book that came out and said he was 18-20. Lol

i’m gonna take a deep breath before writing this.

Again, I am not the guy who selfships/did selfship with Gladion, my brother is. He just doesn’t have anons turned on and so all the people scared to come off anon came over to me. He’s already made a post explaining his reasoning for thinking that Gladion was 18-19, closer to his own age, because the character himself does not have a confirmed age. The only evidence I’ve been shown saying that he’s younger is this artbook quote saying that the character was designed with “middle school arrogance”. I showed this to Colt, and he understands now. Truly, these are the only things implying Gladion’s age, so neither me nor him knew that the general fanon consensus was that Gladion was around 14. I do not support adult selfshippers who selfship with characters who are minors, and that’s not the impression I ever wanted to give. Neither Colt or I knew that he was intended to be that young.

As for Sophocles, who I rarely even talk about on this blog, I’ve already received two separate anons trying to tell me that he’s like ten. I live with a ten year old, that’s. Sophocles does not look or act ten at all? Which, first of all, not even his wiki page says that he’s ten:

Even his website says that his age is up for interpretation. Of course, this is an uncomfortably large guessing range, which is exactly why I don’t have Sophocles on my f/o list. The last time I made selfship content with this character was in 2016, and I was twelve. Although, if we put him right in the middle of this range, that would be 15. I am 17, even if I did still make content with this character, that would not be super gross like these anons have been saying. If anything, that’s an extremely common age gap, most people at the high school I go to have that exact gap or something even larger. However, in Pokémon Masters (the mobile gacha game), Gym Leader Viola makes a comment about Sophocles and Clemont being very close in age, along with them having similar interests. On Clemont’s wiki page, it puts him in that exact same 15-16 age range.

I didn’t want to say this, but hot take: Sophocles is older than Lana (15), but I don’t see anyone going around saying that she’s ten. People target Sophocles specifically for a number of reasons I’ve already posted about, short characters just can’t have peace. The only real “childish” traits Sophocles ever shows, aside from being short, are just very common autistic traits, and I don’t even need to say how bad it is that people are seeing an autistic-coded character and insisting that he’s ten years old when canon itself says otherwise. The truth of the matter is, if Sophocles was styled the exact same way Kiawe is, we wouldn’t have this problem.

I’ve received death threats over a character that hasn’t been on my f/o list in five years. And they only started after my brother picked up Gladion.

Are there any crossovers you’d be especially interested in writing?

I'm always game for smash-animal crossing style crossovers! the 'WTF is happening?' style stuff where the chars just go to each other's world is some of my favorite shit! As for AUs of my own muses, they're not my strong suit? Not impossible, but ye. However, several people have had Animal Crossing verses, so coming to my muse in their verse is just fine~ Most of my muses share a verse, with the only splits being Fire Emblem, FEH, Pokémon, and The Messenger.

Do you write drabbles/headcanons for your character? Do you discuss them OOC, away from Tumblr?

yes! i rarely write drabbles because i'm shy, and want to drabble about subjects i'm shy about, such as trauma, selfships, or spicy content.

but, i talk OOC a lot, and tend to keep HCs i'm shy about to IMs with people i trust~ tailored to the mun's taste, but still. unfortunately (or not?) I can be a lil validation-fueled, oops.

Do you have any plans for the future of your muse? Would you like to see them grow a certain way?

Felix muse is likely learning how to use his powers, and is on the way to developing a healthy ego?

Kamui is learning to think a bit more independently, and become more well-rounded in his skills.

Sans is learning to be more comfortable with crowds/people in general, and himself.

Meanwhile Pit is mostly physically recovering, with his wings and such.

self-confidence is a general theme for many of my muses, while the others need to learn to be a bit less arrogant and rude, more accepting, most're one or the other!

-Prussia would absolutely collect my merch and do reviews on it for SURE. unboxings, cosplay reviews, everything!!! he’s the guy that everyone thinks of when they think of my fanmade content,,, he runs a blog and makes moodboards and imagines and all kinds of stuff!!! he also is big on sending folks letters from me (or other characters). 🥺 o my god that’s cute...... he probably writes really soft romantic reader insert fics and doodles us all over his diaries and aaaaa.... hes as obsessive abt it as i am lol...

-Dazai would be a little more ‘elegant’ about it- he’d write character analyses and little infographics pointing out every little detail of my design and the meaning behind it. He’s the fandom’s math teacher essentially, he does all the smart people work like research and essays on the plot and stuff. he does definitely try to write some spicy fics abt me tho....

-...which Chuuya will punch him for. Chuuya would be super quiet abt it, but Dazai KNOWS and torments him endlessly lol.... Chuuya would be trying to defend my honor 🥺 he’s not as much a creator as he is a consumer, but he’s the BEST kind. comments on everything, reblogs everything, credits the creators when he posts stuff, all that kind of goodness that keeps a fandom going. all anonymously, of course- he’s a mafioso, after all!!

9. If you have multiple F/O’s, imagine them making a group chat about you or your source. Who gushes, who creates, who memes, who analyzes? What are their roles?

-Prussia is the memer, hands down, everyone else go home. he has all the reaction images of me saved and organized neatly in lil folders. he runs a BLOG abt me for gods sake. he will insist that he’s the number one fan that loved me b4 i was popular and he will meme abt anything and everything i do or say dhskfh he also has his own channel specifically for just screeching into the void abt me bc he’s a SIMP

-Dazai is a close second, he’s more of a text post/incorrect quotes type of memer. He also analyzes the hell out of things, he predicts damn near everything that happens in my story months before it does. he has sources for everything, has every chapter/episode bookmarked and probably takes notes abt them.

-Chuuya is the anonymous lurker that chimes in very rarely but when he does, it’s awesome!!! He likes to roast the hell out of everyone in the chat, esp. Dazai obviously. He occasionally will throw out a cute thought he had like ‘i thought about going on a beach date with her...’ and he’s so sweet and heartfelt that everyone is like 🥺 oh my god..... he’s the one everyone else ships with me the hardest lol.

when self ship or oc x canon do you make an ocs for your ship? i mean you're a veteran of selfshipping.

Okay, so I rarely ever ship an OC that isn’t me with a canon character anymore because I love crossovers so much that if somebody doesn’t have a free compatible partner in their own canon, I KNOW I can find them a crossover somewhere in the great wide world. So if you’re looking for any advice on that, it’s not with me.

But when it comes to self-inserting, everyone does it differently, but I make sure all of mine are just...literally me, with naming conventions adjusted and the proper pieces of the universe taken into account to make me fit.

I give them all basically the same design: me IRL. Blonde, fairly thin, 5′7.5″, glasses, pasty white gal. Sometimes I can adjust this if the ‘verse I want to play in is a monster or anthro ‘verse. For throwaway daydreams, I designed a demon self for Hazbin Hotel that was a sea dragon and an anthro cat self for Darkwing Duck. But in all three of my selfship ‘verses, I’m just a human because humans are prevalent in all three ‘verses and they make the most sense to me.

So I start by thinking about where I want to fit in in that ‘verse based on who I’m close to. For XR, I need to be on Team Lightyear. For Tony, it makes most sense if I’m also a criminal in New York who has no dealings with the supernatural. For Giovanni, also a criminal, but a petty thief kind.

But a lot of this is also based on “If I could be anything in this work of fiction, what’s the best fit?” Basically, I look at what’s all available to be and do in that ‘verse and align it with my likes and dislikes.

Which leads me to the important part: deciding the factors that are universe-specific! Like I said, personalitywise, all my s/i’s are just me. I write them how I talk. I write them reacting the way I would to situations. But there are things you gotta do in order to tailor to a universe. For EE, I had to ask myself: am I Inscribed or a Mundie? Being a Mundie spoke more to me. When I made my RWBY self-insert for the Team DERT AU, I had to take into account more of the questions that ‘verse asks of its characters. What would my semblance be? What would be my ideal combo weapon? What folkloric/literary character do I take inspo from?

I’m guessing you’re thinking about DanganRonpa. I actually kindasorta have an s/i for that, and some of the questions I asked: what’s my Ultimate talent? (I went with Ultimate Fangirl.) Do I live or die? If I die, am I Blackened or a victim? Could I potentially be the mastermind who controls Monokuma? Am I in the V3 continuity or the Hope’s Peak continuity? And if you’re doing non-despair Hope’s Peak, then there’s also: are you even an Ultimate, or are you attending Hope’s Peak as reserve course? How many of Class 77 and 78 have you met? What classes are your favorite? Where in Hope’s Peak can you most often be found hanging out?

And don’t be afraid to just go ham. When I was younger in fandom, the concept of the Mary Sue was a big thing that everyone wanted to avoid. And I’ll tell you right now the concept of the Mary Sue was just a really sexist phenomenon that spawned from people not wanting to admit they weren’t into stories about certain OCs that rang more special to the author than the readers, so they decided to bully people instead of just finding content they wanted to read or (gasp!) making that content themselves. But your selfship ‘verse isn’t for an audience, even if you do post content publicly. If you make an OC, don’t worry about limits! You want to be another iteration of the Izuru Kamukura project that actually worked, so you have every talent ever plus actual emotions? Then go for it! Sounds like a fun story! Personally, I tend to go for less powerful OCs (such as making my EE self a mundie) because 1. I like the conflict that arises from me being able to do NOTHING in a critical situation 2. it reflects my low self-esteem in real life 3. it allows me to fantasize about me getting messed up and my faves coming to save me because they’re more powerful/stronger. But it’s ultimately up to you!

Then comes the name. This isn’t a hard and fast rule, but I like to adjust my name based on the fandom. My first name is Rachel, so I try to keep that where I can. EE is Rachel Scribere because I’m a writer and EE last names are puns. BLoSC is Rachel Sparks because it should be a catchy name that fits in with “Lightyear” and “Nova.” Gargoyles is Rachel Rosalind because of all the Shakespeare references in the show. Sometimes, more high-fantasy series will require my s/i have a more fantastical name. In RWBY, people are named after colors, so I went with “Raspberry.” Same first initial, and a color I like. In Storm Hawks, people are named after mostly birds but sometimes weather conditions, and when I realized that lightning + nightingale = LIGHTNINGALE which is the most fun name ever, I had to make it stick.

So long story short, if you’re looking to create a s/i, I say just make it you, but with the name and crucial factors related to the work of fiction changed to fit better in that ‘verse. But there’s no limit on what rules you have to play by for that.
