I love absurdly long and unhinged video essays like yes please tell me a nearly 6 hour long history of Kirsten the American Girl Doll whilst I crochet

2, 4, 6, 8, 10, and two other questions of your choice.
2. which American girl looks the most like you?
-Honestly, I’m not sure, mostly because I have a hard time looking at my face and trying to think of how it would be described (heart-shaped, square, long, etc.—always struggled with that), so I’m not sure which face mold is closest to my doppelganger. I do remember the moment I was brushing my new Josefina’s hair and realized that, like me, her dark brown hair actually had some red in it, which was pretty cool, but I’m much paler than her, so again, I’m not sure. Maybe Samantha with an undercut pixie cut?
4. which girl is your least favorite and why?
-So many have come out since I was a kid and able to keep up with the books that I don’t know if I feel I know enough about the line up to make a call on that. I like the historical that I have read (that is, up through Julie’s first book), but know very little about most of the girl of the year/modern characters, beyond what’s discussed here. sorry.
6. which type of doll do you have the most of (ex. historical, truly me, girl of the year, create your own...)
-Historical, with 5: Kaya, Elizabeth, Josefina, Kirsten, and Kit.
8. if you had to pick one AG character to get rid of forever, which would you choose and why?
-Like before, I feel I don’t have an opinion of my own on this. I’m aware of the Tenney debacle, but I never read her books and wasn’t in the fandom at the time, so it’s more of an opinion I’ve absorbed from the rest of the fandom, but don’t really think of as fully my own, even if I agree. If that makes sense? (Sorry, 4 and 8 were two of the questions I was lest prepared to answer).
10. which best friend character is your favorite?
-The writer;/actor/fantasy nerd in me will always have a soft spot for Ruthie, especially as younger me, falling into the whole girly-things-aren’t-good-things mentality trap was a fan of the Kit books, so they’re the ones I read the most.
1. who was your first doll, and how did you get it?
-Oops! I keep messing this one up! Even just now, I almost said Alex, my JLY 28, since she’s my first AG doll (I saved up my allowance for a couple of years and picked her out of the catalogue, because my parents were NOT going to spend that much money on a doll. So, I was a little older by the time I finally had saved up enough to get her), but the truth is, Maddie, my 18 inch Madeline doll, was my first! I spotted her on a shelf in a Goodwill, and I was so little I thought she had to be an AG doll, even though I knew I didn’t recognize her from the catalogue I’d gotten or the books I’d read. I’m embarrassed to admit how many years it was before I noticed her tag with the ‘Madeline’ logo...
5. how many dolls do you have in your collection?
-Currently, 9: my five historical, mentioned above; Alex, my JLY 28; Maddie, my Madeline doll; and Holly and Tatiana, my modern oc’s of indeterminate other brand (second hand and loved, if not known!). I do plan to get at least two more, probably three, but I’m trying to space them out. Still, I’m thinking my next one might be a Christmas gift to myself, so we’ll see...
Thanks for the ask, this was fun!
