Anime I Watched in 2022: Part 4

31. Bleach: A Thousand Year Blood War 1000/5

I started watching bleach right after it ended in 2012. Back then it was considered a mid anime and the weakest of the “Big Three” but I didn’t care, I absolutely love it. Then when it was known that the final season was being produced suddenly it was the most popular anime ever 🙄 don’t get wrong I’m glad that people have come to appreciate Bleach but after all the years of hearing how lame it was compared to One Piece and Naruto, I’m still a bit salty. That being said, this season was absolutely amazing, the studio knocked it out of the park!! The goosebumps I got when Ichigo and his crew came on screen for the first time were endless. My absolute favorite thing about this season was the lack of censorship, it’s dark and gritty just like the manga. I reallllly can’t wait for the second cour to air.

32. Chainsaw Man 4/5

This was a good anime for me but it wasn’t great. It wasn’t one I was religiously waiting for each week, it was more like whenever I got time to look at it I would. The animation was spectacular and the OST were superb. I think my biggest critic about this was one was the fact is that I just couldn’t like Denji at the beginning. I understand that he had a verrry difficult life early on and his dreams for the future would be different from a normal person’s dream but honestly he was kind of a creep. This will be a very unpopular opinion but if mineta from MHA looked like Denji then more people would be simping for him just like they were simping for Denji. I’m glad to say that the MC slowly grew on me as the series progressed, especially his friendship with Power. This series had a lot of interesting characters and I really wished we got to know more about them before it ended.

33. Reincarnated as a Sword 4/5

I’m going to be very honest here, I only watched this anime because of the name. I pondered on how the heck could a sword be the MC of anime and I’m glad to say that I was impressed. The action was riveting and the OST’s pulled you into each scene. Fran was such an adorable main character that I really want to see more of her. Really hoping we get another season of this anime.

34. I’m the Villainess so I’m Taming the Final Boss 4/5

Honestly this was just a guilty pleasure for me. I’m a huge fan of Villainess manwha so I gave this one a try. The animation left a lot to be desired but the quirky characters and top of the line voice acting made up for it. My other critic is that the story felt rushed especially coming down to the end. No doubt that there weren’t be a season two. But overall it was a fun watch that didn’t make me lose too much brain cells

As an avid anime watcher who is hard to please, I decided to finally make a list of shows I recommend called “2023 Binge-worthy New Releases That Are 12 Eps Long”. My criteria is the following:

-A new series (not a second, third, etc. season — so you can pick it up fresh).

-More or less well rounded with excellent story telling / character development.

-Made me feel many things or a LOT of one thing.

-Has kept my AuDHD ass hooked. Trust, this was the toughest requirement of the criteria list.

So without further ado, 2023 Binge-worthy New Releases That Are 12 Episodes Long.

We had the “I’m the Villainess so I’m Taming the Final Boss” and “Romantic Killer” animes both with Leona’s VA Yuichiro Umehara voicing the male lead in these respective animes.

And now we get that again in “The Reason Why Raeliana Ended up at the Duke’s Mansion”!!!

I’ve never read the manhwa but I saw the anime trailer (linking for those who wanna check it out) and now I’m HOOKED. I LOVE HEARING LEONA’S VOICE THROUGH THESE ROMANCE ANIMES SHSJSJOSOALS SQUEEEEEEE

I'm the Villainess, So I'm Taming the Final Boss could not be more up my alley. Glorious wish-fulfillment.

Protagonist dies and wakes up as the antagonist of a dating game at the moment she’s publicly dumped by her betrothed. Makes the smoothest post-jilt exit I’ve ever seen. Then decides to prevent her own off-screen death by marrying the final boss, the Demon Lord. Who is also her ex-fiancé’s (hotter) older brother.

Literally walks up to his castle and proposes. She’s in a freaking wedding dress during the opening credits. There’s no question on endgame here. He’s already so smitten he magically made some roses bloom. It was as silly as it sounds.

The only downside is THERES ONLY ONE EPISODE RELEASED SO FAR!! I have to wait a week for new eps. Intolerable!

Also I’m seriously digging their color schemes. Both have elements of red and blue, though his are more dark ‘n broody. It’s a deliberately complimentary contrast.

Also he can turn into a dragon.

This has been a damn good year for me and isekai anime.

One of the best anime crossovers just begging to be done is I’m the Villainess So I’m Taming the Final Boss x Hamefura. Both shows have their own merits and their own creativities..... but....

Aileen: can bake cookies, composed, has ideas of turning land into farms

Katarina: loves baked sweets, chaotic but in a good way, loves farming as stress relief, and has the added bonus of making anyone who meets her immediately fall for her

Both: trying to find a way out from their doom ending

Tell me these two don’t perfectly complement each other! They’re pretty much a perfect duo and boi would I love to see what kind of chaos happens when characters from whole other genres (more serious toned) are thrown into the Hamefura mix 😆 and vice versa!

Plus I think Katarina would have a blast with all those cute critters/ demon fluffs (especially fenrir puppy! Would make excellent friends with Spot, Katarina’s fluff ball)

Essentially this crossover creating an ultimate plot for the whole isekaied as a villainess genre.

Until this becomes a canon crossover (one can only dream haha), fanfics and fanart it is....

Something I haven’t screamed about yet, but has been an ongoing thread in the like 4 episodes so far:

Aileen is basically already acting as Lady of the Manor.

Claude has given her what appears to be unrestricted access to and authority over his resources, subjects, house, and even his personal aides! She’s overseeing the repairs to his palace, financing it with the business she started (Claude is basically a silent partner), and putting her own people in charge of all the projects.

Claude’s primary concerns are that his subjects aren’t being mistreated, that the peace treaty is upheld, and otherwise maintaining the day to day of his kingdom. And this is entirely correct, and what his responsibilities as Demon Lord entails.

Really, Claude and Aileen are a classic Nobility Power Couple. He manages the lands, resources, laws, and general politics; she manages the household, finances, and social politics. Which basically means she’s an entrepreneur, CFO, project manager, head of marketing, PR, and does it all while maintaining the image of carefree, idle wealth.

All that work Aileen did preparing to be Empress really paid off because, holy shit, she is GOOD at it! Girl wasn’t even lying when she told Issac that marrying him would have been a waste.
