It's been a while since I've drawn my Warrior Cats OCs. I should do it more often, it's so much fun and there's so much of story to share about them!
Lizardpaw didn't have it easy... and neither did the cats around him.

someday i'll shut up about the untapped potential of mike+eddie but it is absolutely not today
JUST LIKE. mike already has such an anti-authoritarian streak—he's the one saying he doesn't want to be popular, he's constantly talking back to hopper and steve who, zero shade intended, are the two most Traditional Authority Figures the kids routinely come into contact with, he channels a LOT of that anti-authoritarianism into keeping el safe from govt/military coming after her, and the second eddie gets him listening to shit like War Pigs and Disposable Heroes and Run To The Hills it's just gonna fan those embers into an inferno and give him that "oh shit" radicalization moment familiar to kids of reagan-repubs across the decades
and eddie loves dustin, undeniably, he's amazing, but dustin's as much steve's as he is eddie's. plus dustin is A Good Kid. very nice, thinks shit through, and aside from the alternate dimension shit doesn't really rock the boat too much or go looking for trouble. mike, though? mike who wears the shit his mom buys him but sulks the entire time, who picks fights with people who treat his friends like shit, who is the party's main DM outside of hellfire, who has already punched a cop [yeah it was hopper but it still counts] and lies to government officials' faces every chance he gets, who resists every opportunity to Be Normal even if it would make his life a little easier, who's growing his hair out, who nods along to eddie's rants about conformity like he's in church, who has Real Rage In His Awkward Little Heart? mike's eddie's kid.

i have my grips with the anime but there’s really some scenes it completely nailed (like Itaru’s gamer reveal), and when i reach those specific scene in the VN i really can’t stop thinking about just how good the anime was for those scenes in particular.
Case in point right now: the moment they’re trying to give out flyers for RomeJuli in the street and no one is stopping, so Masumi ends up, unprompted, to act out one of the scene as to bring attention to it.
i’ve rewatched the anime so many times it actually surprised me how abrupt the transition from Flyers to “Masumi is acting” is, it’s nice but, man.
The fact the anime really shows when it clicks for Masumi that it would work, then having him, in silence, give his flyers away so he can then focus on acting, and seeing Izumi and Sakuya look at him, perplexed, before he starts acting and they catch on on what he’s doing, makes it flow so much better
A3 is a VN that really utilize the VN format extremely well, so it’s not especially a tackle on the VN itself, and there’s really a few things i think the anime did considerably worse, but this scene? kind of justify the anime’s existence for a bit because just remembering it gives me chill.

I accidentally queued some posts for this blog instead of the main blog.
So, enjoy I guess.

Not gonna lie I would've had a nicer time if my brain wasn't obsessed with overthinking and being pessimistic etc
