even tho the idea of commodified sexuality isn't a new thing to humans, i find it so bizarre how it can be so rampant in a predominantly monotheistic society? like it only be one or the other, leaving no room for nuance.

and it makes more sense when you think about earlier polytheistic societies where women weren't lusted over and treated like total shit. Just look at the indus river valley sculptures. most of them aren't even wearing tops!! but even though by our standards they would be inherently sexual, people just did not see it that way back then!!

because they understood all of this as a life vitality/force that simply existed, and held it's sacredness to be revered. they openly celebrated the role of fertility and creation, and acknowledged the power/influence it had in their lives.

what we deny ourselves oftentimes ends up consuming us whole, which is why our obsession with "masculinity" "grind culture" and "materialism" makes the idea of female sensitivity so bizarrely off putting, yet inextricably tempting. it's also why a lot of us have a fucked up subconsious!! it comes from generations of conditioning. if we all just cultivated an inner sensitivity and respect for our matriarchal figures and lineages, you would NOT be seeing a society that is obsessed with squeezing every dime they can out of a woman's body.

brash prudence and unrestrained immorality are actually wayyyy more connected then you might think.

I just realized something while rewatching some scenes from the 100.

Do u remember the scene in s1 ep10 when bellamy asked clarke does she believe finn and jasper will pull it off (shooting the bomb on the bridge) and she paused for a minute and said “I’ll get everyone inside” claming she doesn’t.

But every time someone asked her about bellamy....”do u trust him?” “ do u think he’s gonna make it?” etc she always said yes without even thinking about it.

This might be the worst day of my life

Nothing particularly terrible happened. Just one bad thing, I broke my laptop. Normally I would be on top of the situation but bad things have been happening to me every day for the past two months. The love of my life finally has telling me he be with me only to cheat on me two days later, my aunt dying, failing 3/4 exams, finding out my only really close friend in this city is only being nice because he’s in love with me, finding out I’m not straight and stressing about how to tell everyone about it, my parents calling me every day to remind me how much of a disappointment I am, being broke and late to pay my bills, sucking at my job (while being overworked and majorly underpaid), not having a clue of where I’m going to live next year or how I am going to afford to live anywhere, my anxiety attacks coming back, not being able to focus on my studies for shit because I’m always busy with work and when I do have free time my attention deficit always gets the best of me ( while I also hate the course I’m taking)... The laptop is just the last drop. I am done. So done. I am going to take a nap and ignore all my problems. I wish I could just stay asleep forever because everything is getting to be too much, but I know that I shouldn’t and I’m not going to. No matter how lost I am right now, I know I will manage somehow, I always do
