Downcast in thought, Ash steps forward as the line shifts. A distant electrical buzz rises from his armor. Blips of static tingle my fingertips. “It would take divine intervention to change his mind.”

“Maddox can be reasoned with, you know. I don’t think it’s personal. He’s being cautious.”

He smirks, eyeballs rolling when he thinks I’m not looking. “I’m really sure it’s personal. If you want help, Dione’s right there.”

@infinitedimensions Yesss! This is exactly like what we wrote in our notes about Gloria! How dare she be treat our baby like that! And yes Jason deserves a wonderful girl that will see him for the incredible guy that he is!

can’t help but be a little mad at Gloria. I mean, Jason’s so devastated she broke up with him that he wears cardigan sweaters for a year. Then she marries another guy 6 months later! She had Jason and she left him for some other man– she’s an idiot. 

I picture her as blonde. It would be easy to portray her as not the brightest, but I think instead she’s manipulative and a little shallow. She’s intelligent and knows how to get what she wants. In headcanon, she’s his first serious girlfriend, and this is in college. It has a big impact on him. Obviously. Perhaps one reason, besides his job, he hasn’t had many girlfriends other than Tasha, and hasn’t gotten close to them. He was hurt deeply. And– she wasn’t worth it. I feel sad for Jason feeling so awful about someone who didn’t deserve him. I think perhaps she was a bit of a psychopath, perhaps even emotionally abusive. To just lead Jason along like that and then– leave him. No thought for his feelings. Obviously she didn’t feel for him as he felt for her. Good riddance. 

And poor young Jason! getting his heart broken like this. I suppose it had to happen at some point, but for someone so shallow and petty (as I imagine her… but it seems to be implied by those few lines…..). To have his first real love do this to him. Throw away his love like it was nothing. Makes me mad. 

at least– well, he learned his lesson not to get close to people. Easier in his job anyway. But he’s got this simmering pain inside him he tries to ignore– be active to smother it– perhaps a bit too much, a bit too manic and perhaps self-destructive…. 

Then, Tasha comes along and she helps him heal from some of it. 

And, eventually, he finds someone worthy of him, who shares his faith, who won’t leave him and will always consider his feelings and loves him wholeheartedly…..

Thoughts about the club episodes.

Totally understand why AIO has exclusive episodes in the club as it not only serves as an incentive for people to become members but it also allows them to feature different ministries at least several times a year. However, club episodes are not without their cons as it comes at the expense of longer mainstream albums meaning that it takes much longer for story arcs (such as Buck’s relationship with Eugene and Katrina) to progress and move forward. Additionally, we know nothing extremely important or life changing is going to ever happen in club episodes themselves because not everyone would be able to hear them. Because of this, some episodes (especially lately) have felt a bit boring and even silly and ridiculous at times. Making us wish there weren’t any club episodes at all and we could go back to main stream albums that were 12 episodes long instead of 6. Recently, though we came up with an idea that would allow the show to still have club episodes while making them more satisfying and meaning for us to listen to so it would be a win/win for everyone. What if the writers, in addition to writing episodes about mission trips, fairytales, every day life events, etc., also wrote some shows taking place in the past. We could hear the backstories of different characters that we love and want to know more about. Hearing a young Dr. Blackgaard would be awesome! We could also hear more episodes about the young Whittaker family back when Whit, Jenny, Jerry, Jana, and Jason all lived in California. We could hear how Whit started UPF and when they all moved to Chicago. How he started working for the government. How Jason came to work at the NSA and first mission. Him meeting Donovan and Tasha for the first time. More young Whit episodes would be great as well. We could also hear more stories with Connie and Eugene as kids. And anything else that would give us a more in depth look at these characters and witness different events that have happened in their lives. So yeah that’s what we were thinking. Please feel free to share your thoughts.

@infinitedimensions YESSSSSSS!!!!!!! We think alike so much! This is exactly something we have said for a while that Jason need his own spinoff show! As you said there is so much to be explored with his character!!! We would be the first to hear those episodes! As for everything else you mentioned, such as how Jason came to want to become an agent and Whit’s and Jenny’s reaction to the news, we were thinking the same thing as well!! It’s so crazy that we’re so alike!

The Jason spinoff idea needs to happen. We thought that it could also feature our fav Odyssey characters but be Jason centric. It also would be the perfect opportunity for Odyssey to delve into more serious mature topics. The target agent range could be 12 or 14+.

That way we could hear more serious issues (such as mental health) candidly discussed since on AIO they can’t be address as deeply since it’s target age range is 8-12.

Imagine all the storylines we could hear. Jason struggling with his mom’s death. Witnessing horrifying and tragic things as an agent and trying to cope with it. Learning to rely more on God to help through the pain and challenges of his life.
