Alright, time for our next poll!
March 15th marks the 57th year anniversary of Gamera vs Gyaos, so I thought I’d shake up the streak of Godzilla or general kaiju fandom polls and give us all a Gamera-centric one, in time for the birthday of his most common enemy. Hoping this gets some traction despite Gamera not being that popular, come on, let’s spread the word of the turtle-
Please remember to reblog so this can get a wider sample size!

Hm, not much to say here. Had an old uncolored picture of Iris lying around too. I’ll get the Gyaos out some time this week I think.I’m pretty sure I struggled to figure out the creature’s build from just watching the movie so it’s a bit off.

oooooooough gamera brainworms why do so many of them have pointy faces
for extra clarification these are my own designs I made up on the fly (guiron, iris, and legion are extremely close to canon however. I just wanted to draw these guys and not really think about it), and the monster in the middle is garasharp

Warning-I may become very annoying about The Big Turtle (and a few other things maybe)
Okay, so during the week I was without my tablet, I thought I'd take the opportunity to start watching stuff and trying some new shows. I'm kinda one of those people who has stuff I wanna watch but I, like, "never get around to it" if you get what I mean.
Started off with Gamera Rebirth, which to be fair I found out about fairly recently....I think it has changed my brain chemistry. Got me really hyped to draw monsters again (once Fazbear Collection episode one's art is done. Got a few pages left, including the "big" scene of the episode). I might take a while for me to get back to things like the Godzilla stuff I've been posting every now and then.
In the meantime...
Y'know how I may have mentioned getting distracted by possible side projects? Yeah, here's an example. These aren't "final" designs by any means gonna need to find some better reference images and stuff. Kinda funny that "My Take on Gamera" was the most popular option in the poll.
Been watching Ultraman Blazar this past week or so (might actually finish it tonight). So I may also become annoying about the Giant Silver Alien Dudes too. Maybe.

if no one will do a chill monster-island-esque designs for the gamera universe I will
Gamera works spraying for pest gyaos and dealing with the occasional asshole alien/ancient civ kaiju, he's great at parties
Guiron is his turblent on-off partner

Akira Ohashi taking a break from the Iris suit during production of Gamera 3: Revenge of Iris (1999).
Ohashi-san had previously played Gamera in Gamera 2: Attack of Legion (1996).
Shusuke Kaneko, who directed all three movies in the Gamera Trilogy, also directed 2001's Godzilla, Mothra and King Ghidorah: Giant Monsters All-Out Attack. He hired Ohashi-san to play King Ghidorah in that film.
