Le Guin), The Lost Books of the Odyssey (Zachary Mason), and Country (Michael Hughes)... I could go on but these are the ones that stand out the most to me 𝟎𝟖.  ( LAST SONG LISTENED TO ) —— Scar of an Angel (Vanden Plas) 𝟎𝟗.  ( LAST FILM OR SHOW WATCHED ) ——  Harley Quinn (the animated show on DC Universe) 𝟏𝟎.  ( INSPIRATION FOR MUSE ) —— With Elena, I apply a lot of myself to her, but it’s also just a lot of how I interpret her mannerisms in the main game. When it comes to BC era interpretation, I usually see her as her typical, chatty self but less hardened by the world. She’s innocent and naive and hasn’t really experienced anything extremely dark. The period between her graduation from high school and main game, I took a lot of inspiration from Lucy’s character in the Jekyll and Hyde musical. Lucy is a prostitute by necessity, but she has dreams of eventually leaving that behind and finding a better life for herself. At one point she meets Henry Jekyll who is the first person to show her genuine kindness and she falls in love with him because of it. Jekyll is engaged, but he does try to help her. I kind of view Elena in the slums as going in that kind of downward spiral, wishing for a better life than the one she wound up with. And when Tseng recruits her into the Turks? That’s like the moment where Jekyll shows kindness toward Lucy for the first time. 𝟏𝟏.  ( STORY BEHIND URL ) ——   Laney is the name Reno calls Elena and she’s a Turk. There really wasn’t that much creativity that went behind it lol.

BACKSTORY

    Draculaura was born in Transylvania to Camille and Gaius in 412 AD. Gaius is a descendant of Dracula’s servant and dies in battle. Leaving Camille a widow, Dracula takes Camille in and takes care of her and Draculaura. Camille becomes sick of tuberculosis, and ends up dying. To prevent Draculaura from also dying, Dracula turns her into a vampire.

    Raised in Transylvania, Draculaura befriends Elissabat Stoker and spends most days in a privileged vampire setting. Attending high school she met her first boyfriend Kieran Valentine (The story between her and Draculaura is not the same as How Do Ghouls Fall In Love. That storyline will come up later). One day, while out on a trip to the human village, a normie who was run over by a carriage was on the verge of death. Dracula rushed to save him, and resulted in trying to bite him to turn him into a vampire saving him from his state. Nearby humans saw Dracula biting him, and took the story out of context. Dracula was framed for being a murderer and he and Draculaura were forced to refuge to early America in 1612.

    Spending her teens in early America was difficult for Draculaura, for reputation of monsters were not that better in the US than they were in Europe. She was homeschooled up until 1814 when Headmistress Bloodgood and Dracula built Monster High, Monster Middle, and Monster Elementary to open up to local monster children in need of education. The schools got larger and larger over the years both in physical size and numbers. She finally entered Monster High in 1919 and has continued attending ever since. She would have graduated far earlier, but with a combination of wanting to continue her education through each generation and the fact that enrolling in college when there wasn’t one present yet for monsters was not really an option.

    Currently, Draculaura spends her days at Monster High with ghoulfriend Clawdeen Wolf. She loves modern culture with a passion and finds pleasure in hobbies such as cosplaying, watching anime (and reading manga), writing, and helping her fellow monsters (and normies, though she’d never tell her father).
