Before the Leigh-Perrie-Jade trio, the Little Mix sisterhood was a quartet. I’m sure almost all GLAMOUR readers will remember Jesy Nelson’s shock departure in December 2020, citing the toll that being in the band had had on her mental health.
“It felt like a breakup, to be honest. It was really, really sad,” Leigh-Anne says. “I think that was normal, after us all being in the group together for so long. It was definitely something that took a lot of getting used to. It was a really hard time,” she says with a matter-of-factness that surprises me. Leigh-Anne is normally extremely reticent about her strained relationship with Jesy after a widely publicised feud in 2021. Leaked Instagram messages allegedly from Leigh-Anne accused Jesy of blackfishing in her solo music video for Boyz, which resulted in Jesy partaking in a scathing Instagram Live with collaborator Nicki Minaj, who seemingly accused Leigh-Anne of only speaking out at that time because Jesy was no longer helping Little Mix make money, and repeatedly referring to her – albeit without naming her directly – as a ‘f*cking clown’.
“It was about a month after giving birth to my twins, and I was suddenly caught up in this horrific online row and toxic Twitter debates,” she recalls. “But the fact that I had just given birth to these two angels is what saved me in that time. Because I feel like I probably would have had some crazy, like…” She pauses. “I don’t know; I would have let it consume me, and it probably would have been bad. But the fact I did have them made me go, ‘Just put your phone down, that stuff isn’t real. This, in front of you, is what’s real.’ The fact I have these two little lives that I have to take care of? Nothing else really matters. God, I just feel so grateful to experience it.”
this narrative of treating her like she’s the victim here when she herself doesn’t even want to be associated to little mix anymore & she probably will start talking about LM again because she’s flopping and will need a reason to be relevant. you can’t behave this way and expect people to respect you no matter what. she said some shit and she didn’t take any responsibility for that, she did some disrespectful things and thought people would feel sorry for her. guess what? your past and what you’ve been through doesn’t excuse you for the fucked up, messed up things she said and did. period. just freaking stop worship a blackfishing mean white girl who can’t be thankful of the people she despises so much that’s been with her even in her darkest moments. the same people she didn’t even bother to call and give them and heads up before leaving the band that gave her a chance to be a singer in the first place. she isn’t entitled to play the victim card anymore. deal with the shit you did and people defending her should just touch some grass for once. her stupid ass fans (the ones she’s left with because she doesn’t have many) threatened leigh anne and her twins after leigh MISTAKENLY reposted a post of woman like me turning double platinum today with a OT3 picture. do you think leigh anne deserves to be bullied again from her fans after what happened years ago? are we freaking forgetting what jesy nelson put leigh-anne through during pandemic? because of what? because leigh-anne spoke up and told her she was being disrespectful with the blackfishing and miss white girl jesy nelson didn’t bother to listen to her or the reasons why using that much fake tan so people would consider her black was and still is wrong?
in my opinion jesy nelson should find another occupation very soon and ditch music because and if she’s going to come back the shitstorm will be big. and she can’t handle it at all.
i’m sorry but i had to vent about this, i can’t do it on twitter because some of my friends would kill me if they’d read this since they still support jesy. in any way i don’t support a blackfishing ungrateful girl, never. ever.
attaching a post to make it make more sense for y’all
i know your focus is harry styles, but are there any other celebs you feel like they are just as overrated? i personally have the biggest one-sided beef with jesy nelson (to keep up with ex members of british groups!)
I think the vast majority of the manufactured pop acts are overrated but they’re designed as money making machines, so it’s no surprise. It’s not based on talent.
Not everyone is well liked and sometimes, no matter how hard you try to do the right things, you still end up with a bad reputation. If they’re going to think you’re bad, you might as well have some fun. Who cares what people say or think or feel about your life decisions? Carpe Diem is all about seizing the day so actually seize it, make the most of your experience here and don’t let anyone hold you back. Even if your reputation is bad, at least you’re being talked about. #famous

I think people are scared to call out jesy because of the documentary. And i am in no way invalidating her struggles but that doesn't give her the leeway to blackfish when she has a black member in her band who has endured so much racism from people and still she does that instead of speaking up. Because i have seen the same people on twitter relentlessly bullying the Tomlinson girls for the same thing but when it comes to jesy they keep quite or some of them bring her struggles with bullying and call us problematic. If they actually cared about us then they'll call jesy out too.
no one’s struggles gives them a pass to be racist. if people who went through hardships get a pass then everyone gets one. and calling out someone’s racism will never be as hurtful and violent as their racism is. if allies are too scared to have these conversations then you can stop calling yourself that
Every year in Boots Little Mix exclusively release their beauty range called LMX. Their collection is a full range of cosmetics from lips to eyes and I decided this year I wanted to try something from the collection after seeing makeup tutorials. So I was in Boots together and currently they have a 25% odd Christmas presents so this £8.50 lip kit only cost £6.36 which was a total bargain.
The Lip Kit I got is named “Gettin Lippy”, this lip kit comes with a lip liner, a matte liquid lipstick and a lip gloss that can be used as a lipgloss by itself or a lip topper for the matte lip. This set is the nude collection and the matte lipstick is a warm nude brown which would suit a lot of skin tones. The gloss itself is a gorgeous shimmery nude that looks lovely with just the liner as well as a lip topper. I’m slowly getting used to posting swatch pics so I apologise if they aren’t quiet what you expect but I’m learning 😂.
I have to admit I’m a little surprised at how good the liquid lipstick actually is, last year there were some mixed reviews online about the collection. But this year it looks like they’ve made some changes, the matte lipstick in this collection feels so lightweight on the lips and doesn’t leave your lips looking cracked. The gloss also leaves your lips looking glossy and hydrated and luckily doesn’t leave your lips feeling coated in product.
I’m excited to try out a few more products from this collection in the future especially the eyeshadow palette and other lipstick colours. If you’re in the U.K. this collection is exclusively sold through Boots both in store and online.
