Exciting news. I’ve delivered the second project successfully 🙌🏻.
I’m very happy. It has been hard. At first, I thought I would be easier than the previous project as I had learnt a lot in the first project about routes, decorators, paths, etc. Oh my God, I was wrong.
This time the project was split in backend and frontend, what makes sense, for sure. But I’m not an expert in frontend so to start I was struggling to send the data properly.
Unfortunately they didn’t explain well the project and I hadn’t full information of how the webpage I had to built worked. Often, when you have to do this kind of projects where you have to complete some functionalities they do a brief demo of the final solution so you can make up your mind and see how it should work in the end. That wasn’t the case this time.
It just made it more difficult to follow. They recommend start doing the backend at the beginning and test it in the terminal using CURL.
Well, following that instruction I did it has I was said. But when I tried to join it with the frontend, for nobody surprise, it didn’t work.
There were bugs to fix in the frontend before it started to work. That was annoying because that wasn’t part of the course and required an experienced person to help.
In the end, I could implement everything, do the needed fixes in the original code and push it to GitHub successfully.
But there was another part to do as part of the course. It was very interesting for me as it was something I heard a lot and I’ve never could apply it in my job. This is nothing but test your code by coding.
I always test my code, of course. But I do it by testing the final result and document it in somewhere: jira, excel, any specific file… but never using a code to test. I usually write the septs I follow and also the result wether it is the expected or not.
That blew my mind. It is very useful! I really liked it even though I got some unexpected errors in the meantime that I needed to solve before doing the proper test and check the result.
To sum up my experience in this second project:
Positive things:
- I tested my code by coding. I liked this way of working a lot.
- I customised, with some mentor help, the VSCode properly to run the tests and debug my code.
- I installed a theme for the terminal that helps me a lot to read the errors and everything inside.
- I applied my previous learning with databases, Flask and Python.
- I learnt how to identify when an error is in the frontend or in the backend.
- I used a little bit of JavaScript to fix the frontend bugs.
Not that positive things:
- I felt stressed and powerless a lot during the project. The course content wasn’t aligned with what they requested in the final checklist. This bad feeling was bigger as I really enjoyed the videos and explanations. Before starting I felt well prepared to start coding and in the end that wasn’t true.
- The effort was bigger than expected. It took a lot of hours to finish and deliver the project.
- I faced issues when uploading the repo to GitHub. In this case, it as totally my fault because I did it wrong from the beginning when I clone the repo.
Well, three more projects left!
Actually, I have to start the third project this week. I already finished watching the videos and I guess I’m ready to start coding. Let’s see how it goes this time. I’ll back here to share my conclusions.

I think I'm well and truly loving Tempys! She has such a pretty design. Could you perhaps tell me more about her character/role in your story and if she was particularly inspired from anywhere...
OOOH okay so
First of all, let's start with inspiration! A lot of it heavily stems from Zelda games! A bit of A Link Between Worlds, a bit of Twilight Princess, a bit of Breath of the Wild, and a sprinkling of Phantom Hourglass... But, mostly A Link Between Worlds! Purely because of the idea of Lorule, which me and my rp group (mostly consisted of @juan-o-clocks, @hikaririnku-blog, and their S/O) expanded further upon as some sort of Mirror Realm!
Reason why I mention the whole Mirror Realm thing, she's actually Skylyn's mirror counterpart, and they're more or less besties in a sisterly way due to their shared role involving the Dream Realm (Skylyn being a lesser dream goddess, and Tempys being a lesser nightmare goddess) (Also to mention Skylyn having the theme of wind and clouds while Tempys has a general storm theme)
I do also like making Genshin Impact jokes with her, but truth is, she's existed with her storm formchange gimmick since... February 2019, according to my file explorer.
Her role in the (current) story is mostly taking on a sisterly or mentor role to the rest of the group she's been traveling with, and her arc involves her complicated feelings with godhood, where she outright rejects the title of being one, but uses the perks to take care of those she cares about over the thousands of years she's been around... but sometimes her methods are rather.... self-destructive? She'd much rather push herself well beyond her limits for the sake of finding the answer to someone's problem, than to take time to rest and recover. But she also behaves similarly for the sake of knowledge, so...
.... I mean granted, she is also the accidental driving force behind the main story of this particular RP, in her eyes, one of the antagonists is literally her fault. She tried to, for lack of better terms, "foster" an angel who was abandoned, before it willingly fell. A lot of this fallen angel's behavior and abilities is influenced off of her.
Buuuut also she does live in the shadow of a technically-deceased sister that "died" before Tempys was even born--
However!! There is also some notable AU Counterparts that dissect her for the sake of exploration! (This has gotten extremely long so I'll put a keep reading buffer!)
I'll start with Chimera first because A) She has the more obvious Zelda references + Lowkey was also inspired by Professor Layton: Unwound/Lost Future??? Except I completely misunderstood the plot due to a tangled the animated series animatic??? And then the Nickname came from a type of enemy in Mother 3???
Okay hold on none of that makes sense I feel like--
Anyways B) she was initially created for a particular arc in the Main Plot in which the Main Cast ends up fighting bad future counterparts of themselves, versions of themselves that went on darker paths for one reason or another, and Tempys's leaned into her near-obsessive interest in magi-sciences, and fear of mortals turning against gods once more, mixed with a desire for her loved ones to live long enough to see whatever answer they were seeking for their problems (+ guilt over blaming herself for the loss of a girlfriend she had prior to Jira). Which led to her experimenting on herself.
Then we have Nightterror's universe (which I had nicknamed "Inverse" Universe). The complete opposite to Chimera. Giving up her passions. Embracing her role as not only a Nightmare Goddess, but then also taking Skylyn's role as a Dream Goddess when Skylyn was... "incapacitated." Perhaps permanently.
Nightterror's goal was to trap everyone in an everlasting dream so that way everyone can be happy! No one has to die! The cycle could be halted!
Except if everyone could get what they wanted, then obviously that could cause a lot of problems. And when people start recognizing that they're in a dream... Well, she certainly tries to put a stop to those trying to stop it, even if it means bringing harm to her loved ones. Not hurt or kill them, of course, but... if she has to put them in a deeper slumber, just as she did to Gelum and Ignis, her dear sisters... but oh well! They're safe, they're protected this way! Nothing can go wrong!
She's probably the one who is the reason why Tempys has such a huge playlist compared to other OCs of mine. It's just so easy to imagine her singing these songs in some sort of musical format, and roping others in to join her (whether they want to, or not)
And then we have Supercell who is VERY underdeveloped since she's newer in concept, but she inherits what the other two don't: The storm formchanges.
She mulled over the possibilities and gave up everything except for the Storm aspect. No more passions, no more connections... and it make her a cold, uncaring, force of nature. She probably couldn't recognize her loved ones even if she tried.

Scrum Master's Secret Weapon: Enhance Leadership with Jira Assistance
Tumblr media
In Agile project management, the Scrum Master plays a pivotal role. They are the leaders who guide teams toward success, ensuring that Agile principles and practices are followed effectively. While the Scrum Master's responsibilities are diverse and demanding, one tool stands out as their secret weapon: Jira. This blog will explore how Jira can enhance a Scrum Master assistant capabilities and contribute to Agile project success.
The Scrum Master's Crucial Role
Before diving into the power of Jira, let's briefly revisit the role of a Scrum Master. Scrum Masters are not traditional project managers; they are servant leaders who facilitate and empower their teams. Their responsibilities include:
Facilitating Scrum Events: Scrum Masters organise and lead key events like Sprint Planning, Daily Standups, Sprint Reviews, and Sprint Retrospectives. These events keep the team focused, aligned, and continuously improving.
Removing Obstacles: Scrum Masters identify and eliminate impediments that hinder the team's progress. This can range from resolving technical issues to addressing interpersonal conflicts.
Coaching and Mentoring: Scrum Masters coach team members and stakeholders on Agile principles and practices, helping them understand and embrace the Agile mindset.
Shielding the Team: They protect the team from external disruptions and excessive demands, allowing team members to focus on their work.
Continuous Improvement: Scrum Masters facilitate retrospectives to help the team reflect on their processes and find ways to improve continuously.
Jira as a Scrum Master's Ally
Now, let's explore how Jira can assist Scrum Masters in their leadership journey:
Efficient Backlog Management: Jira provides a centralised platform for managing the product backlog. Scrum Masters can use Jira to keep the backlog organised, ensure that it reflects the priorities of the Product Owner, and make it easily accessible to the team. This clarity enhances the Scrum Master's ability to facilitate Sprint Planning effectively.
Visibility into Progress: Jira's visual boards, such as Kanban or Scrum boards, offer real-time visibility into the progress of tasks during a sprint. Scrum Masters can use these boards during Daily Standups to help the team stay on track and identify any blockers or delays.
Dependency Tracking: Managing dependencies between tasks can be challenging but is crucial for successful Agile delivery. Jira allows Scrum Masters to map dependencies, enabling them to address potential roadblocks and ensure smooth progress proactively.
Custom Reporting: Jira offers robust reporting capabilities. Scrum Masters can use these reports to track key metrics like velocity, burn down, and sprint progress. These insights facilitate data-driven discussions during Sprint Reviews and Retrospectives, enabling the team to identify areas for improvement.
Automated Reminders: Jira can be configured to send automated reminders and notifications for upcoming events and deadlines. Scrum Masters can use this feature to ensure that the team is aware of and prepared for important Scrum events.
Issue Tracking and Escalation: When issues or impediments arise, Scrum Masters can use Jira to log and track them. Jira's customise workflows allow for creating issue escalation processes, ensuring that problems are addressed promptly.
Collaboration and Documentation: Jira integrates seamlessly with Confluence, Atlassian's collaboration platform. Scrum Masters can use Confluence to document meeting notes, action items, and project documentation. This integration streamlines knowledge-sharing and documentation efforts.
Best Practices for Scrum Masters Using Jira
To maximise the benefits of Jira as a Scrum Master's secret weapon, consider the following best practices:
Master Jira: Invest time in becoming proficient with Jira's features and functionalities. The more you know, the more effectively you can leverage it to support your team.
Customisation: Tailor Jira to fit your team's unique needs. Customise workflows, issue types, and boards to align with your Agile processes.
Training and Support: Provide training and support to your team members to ensure they can navigate and use Jira effectively. A well-informed team is more likely to collaborate efficiently within the tool.
Regular Reviews: Continuously review and adapt your Jira setup to reflect changes in your project's needs. Regularly solicit feedback from your team to identify opportunities for improvement.
Documentation: Use Confluence with Jira to maintain clear and up-to-date documentation. This ensures that critical information and decisions are readily accessible to all stakeholders.
The Scrum Master's Secret to Success
In today's fast-paced business environment, Agile project management is necessary for organisations seeking to deliver value rapidly and respond to change effectively. Within the Agile framework, the Scrum Master plays a pivotal role as a servant-leader, guiding teams toward success. With its powerful features for backlog management, progress tracking, dependency management, and reporting, Jira can serve as the Scrum Master's secret weapon.
By mastering Jira and leveraging its capabilities, Scrum Masters can enhance their leadership skills, streamline Agile processes, and drive project success. Kandu: Mentortech SaaS B2B Startup
Tumblr media
Nina took 3 years out from her consultancy work with Nyna Consulting to launch her own startup, Kandu. Kandu was a software as a service company which helped organisations to launch, manage and measure mentoring or coaching programmes.
THE PROBLEM
Many organisations seek to run mentoring or coaching programmes to help develop future leaders. However, once they have found potential mentees and internal or external mentors, they struggle to have visibility on what is happening between pairs, and whether or not the programme and mentoring advice is helping mentees/ coachees achieve their aims. As a result, return on investment is hard to monitor and justify to boards.
WHAT WE DID
Nina acted as Product Director, CEO and Founder. She researched target markets and audiences and scoped and built an initial software MVP (including Epics/ product roadmapping and prioritisation) which would help organisations to collect information on mentoring programmes. The software was developed over time to reflect customer feedback; it became fully customisable for different clients, and allowed them to match mentees and mentors, collect data on mentee goals and sentiment/ confidence, as well as collect data on other important issues such as community knowledge ‘gaps’ and programme engagement. Nina raised equity funding from angel investors to develop the product and built a team to sell into and manage relationships with accelerators and corporates, across the UK and Asia. Her team comprised of a CTO, leadership expert Non-Executive Director, project managers/ product managers, engineers, a UX designer, data scientist, customer support team, and business development lead/ client director. Nina also develop a data consultancy arm to the business where we also helped clients analyse their data to identify priorty actions from our insights.
THE OUTCOMES
Nina successfully designed and built a product and business, and sold and account managed a variety of clients over three years including a major bank and multinational communications company. The service was well received and gave clients vital data insights such as which mentees were developing/ achieving hoped for goals, which mentors were adding value, engagement levels into programmes, and vitally ROI into these types of programmes. Sadly the COVID-19 pandemic severely affected Kandu’s sales pipelines during 2020 and the business was closed.

rae! i hope you don't find this invasive and i obviously don't want you to say your age but how many years of experience did you have before becoming a PM? i'm still in uni so i'm trying to see ways to find a job in another country (i'm from latam!)
i had like, 4-5 years of relevant career experience total including my jobs in college! i'm a big proponent of getting your foot in the door, because that's what worked for me - i got some relevant internships/part-time jobs in college, started off at an entry level secretarial job in a relevant field, and found a mentor who helped get my career started.
project management is a really broad field, though - different industries have different requirements and different methods (like agile vs waterfall). i'd say look into certifications, like the junior PMP or agile certification, because a lot of jobs look for those and they're international standards. get familiar with common PM tools like jira or asana. see what industry you like (marketing, software, web, finance, etc. etc. or a mix!) and see what kind of jobs are out there.
also, you can always reach out to recruiters, hiring managers, or other PMs you (or your friends/colleagues) may know for informational interviews. talking to someone who has your dream job is probably the quickest way to figure out a good path!
there's also freelance. upwork is common for PM contractors and it's a way to get clients or build some experience you may not get otherwise.
i hope this helps!

(   PROMPT   )
@dokuhebi WROTE :
Bambi + Moana (headcanon asks) //Jira <3
—— —   Bambi - What is your muse’s relationship with their parents like?
Nonexistent next question
No but that wouldn’t be a terribly inaccurate way to describe it. Both of his parents are dead now, of course, but there presence in Jiraiya’s life wasn’t much different when they were alive, either. He had an absentee father for the first ten years of his life, raised only by a depressed alcoholic of a mother until the man appeared one day out of nowhere all hugs &&. smiles as if he hadn’t abandoned his family for an entire decade. Jiraiya had been upset, but nonetheless overjoyed to have finally met his father, so of course he was excited when the man offered to take him out for the night for some much overdue bonding time.
His mother had tearfully encouraged it &&. even gave them a bit of money to treat themselves, just as lost in her ex-husband’s deceit as Jiraiya. All was well &&. good until the two of them got into town &&. Jiraiya’s father immediately became distracted with his own indulgences, using all the money his estranged ex had so generously given him. Excessive drinking   (   which wasn’t too out of place as far as Jiraiya was concerned   )   , partying, the works. Hell, he even brought Jiraiya into a damn brothel &&. left him to wait in the lobby while he disappeared for several hours. Jiraiya was doted on by all the mistresses, but for once he couldn’t bring himself to appreciate the attention because he was too busy waiting for his father to come back.
It wasn’t until much later that he finally re-emerged, high off his ass, &&. completely ignored his long - lost son on his way out. Jiraiya had chased after him, but he only made it to the exit of the brothel before he just...gave up. It dawned on him that the man who claimed to be his father was nothing more than a stranger who truthfully wanted nothing to do with his son but for an excuse to indulge himself at someone else’s expense.
He’d walked home, lied to his mother about having had a great time, &&. cried himself to sleep   —— —   not out of sadness, but anger. He’d decided that night that if his so - called father wanted to ignore him, then Jiraiya would ignore his father in turn.
When that man showed up again out of the blue a few years later, daring to show his face &&. try to spout a new sob story &&. some half - assed apology, Jiraiya nearly beat him within an inch of his life before his mother finally pried him away. Jiraiya told him never to come back if he knew what was good for him. To his credit, he listened.
But Jiraiya’s over it.
—— —   Moana - Does your muse believe in fate or destiny? What is theirs?
The answer to that is rather obvious: yes. He readily believed the prophecy the Toad Sages gave him all those years ago, unwavering in his faith in such ancient &&. knowledgeable beings. Truth be told, he had always believed in destiny, though he didn’t know what his was up until that point.
(   He had his own suspicions, of course, most of which involved a certain snake bastard who shall remain unnamed.   )
Now he knows without a shadow of a doubt that his fate is to find &&. mentor the child of prophecy. It’s his grand purpose in life &&. he won’t stop until he fulfills it.
