John Barrymore (born John Sidney Blyth; February 14 or 15, 1882 – May 29, 1942) was an American actor on stage, screen and radio. So I noticed that this film, and my 2020 review of it, had been removed from Letterboxd at some point. Not sure why this would have been done, considering it's a legitimate short film, but here's hoping it sticks around this time, and that some new people are inspired to see it.

I did still have a copy of my review cross-posted to my blog, so I will include it below. I have only a couple of small additions after this rewatch:

First, I want to stress how incredible John Blyth Barrymore's performance is, giving such ludicrous material an uninterrupted, hour-long delivery. I also want to note how remarkably well the Philip Glass score, transplanted from Kundun (1997), sets the tone.

I liked the part with the analysis of the Garfield strip.

Happy Pipe Strip Day! No matter how many times I see this, I remain utterly enamoured. Everything from the core concept, to the writing, to the delivery, to the soundtrack, is simply genius. It’s rare that anything so perfectly aligns with my sense of humour the way that 07/27/1978 does.
