Ranking my favorite Star Trek TOS girlies

This is specifically about the women of the week, excluding those who appeared once in TOS but later reappeared in other Star Trek shows (like T'Pring, Amanda or Una). There are so many! Most are kinda meh eye candy, however, some are just great. Here we go...

13 Kelinda (2x22 By Any Other Name) : she's not a girl, she is hundred tentacle alien trapped in a woman's body

12 Roberta Lincoln (2x26 Assignment: Earth) : just there to slay, she has some serious Doctor's companion vibes

11 Lenore (1x13 Conscience of the King) : a murderous girlie with an unhealthy fixation on her father, you gotta love her

10 Irina Galliulin (3x20 The Way to Eden) : Academy drop out in a sexy hippie polycule, what else do you need?

6 Daras (2x21 Patterns of Force) : she's an undercover freedom fighter who turned her own father in to get the enemy's trust, hardcore af

5 Marta (3x14 Whom Gods Destroy) : criminally insane Orion who quotes Shakespeare and then claims she is the author, iconic

4 Vanna (3x21 The Cloud Minders) : in her first scene she beats Kirk in a hand to hand combat, 'nough said

3 Janice Lester (3x24 Turnabout Intruder) : yes, go exercise your girl power by murdering a lot of people and stealing Kirk's body, you can do anything, I believe in you!

2 Romulan Commander (3x2 The Enterprise Incident) : the only female captain we'll get to have for a long time, absolute queen, so sexy and powerful with great sense of fashion

1 Miranda Jones (3x5 Is There in Truth No Beauty) : my favorite by a lot, she is conflicted, annoying, petty and ready to kick sexist and ableist asses on the spot

There are more that I could mention, but I thought 13 is an okay number to stop.

“The Monster Male Lead Living Under My Bed” returns December 30th.

Review: I am biased because I love slimes, like Dragon Quest, & while this isn’t exactly one of those slimes, our ML meets our FL while he’s a slime. I also like “The Villainess’s Stationary Shop” & “He’s Just My Brother, Your Grace”, so biased.

Summary: Our FL transmigrates as Irina Sordier, who quickly befriends a smart slime (who she names “Lime”) her older brother, Valentin Sordier, gives her. Lime can understand her & bring her food. Valentin learns Head Maid Rosia (their father’s mistress) has been abusing Irina. Irina tells Lime she transmigrated into an adult romance, & she likes abduction & confinement. Duke Sordier has Irina take Kelinda flower poison, which will make her walking poison overtime, but the cure is near ogML Duke Ruslan's estate & if she takes it after the flower on her wrist blooms, she'll become healthier than ever & be able to purify demons. Duke Sordier makes Valentin fight. Rosia tells her daughter Bella that one day Bella will be lady of the house. Irina tells Lime, if anything happens to go North & she'll find him. Lime gets a scar killing a nightmare demon Duke Sordier sent after Irina. Irina's mother was a priestess that Duke Sordier only married for her divine power (1-14). Rosia overhears Irina talking to Lime & plants a recording device in her room, but it's wiped clean. Irina is thrown in a cell & tells Lime to run away, but he returns with a recording device & food. She records 2 maids confirming they're spies for Baron Follen. Irina & Lime promise to meet at the hut in the Choco Forest. Bella helps Irina escape because she knows Irina is being poisoned & about Lime. Irina says goodbye to Lime. To protect her mother, Bella tells the truth. Lime is attacked by Baron Follen, but teleports to the hut. Valentin gives Irina the handkerchief she embroidered for Lime & says Lime is probably dead. Bella & Irina make up because Irina understands. 5 years later, Duke Alexei Ruslan returns victorious from war & Irina prepares to debut (15-25). Irina goes to a salon to meet Yellie Isla; the ladies try to exclude her by speaking the ancient language, but Irina knows it at & more. Irina tells Yellie she wants someone as cute & cheerful as her as her first friend, & they go to a cafe on the outskirts together, which is what Irina wants because it's the cover for Dark Guild N. Irina asks Halcyon Spinx, Guild Head, to watch Duke Sordier & the archbishop's rosary for the temple in the capital, & tells Halcyon his 13-year-old sibling, Mirron, lost their memories & is in Oseeria in the North & about to be sold to a slaver. Alexei is trying to rush the marriage & his aide, Vasily, is trying to get him to be patient. Halcyon finds Mirron, gets the Rosary, which Irina breaks because she just wants the jewel inside. Irina asks Halcyon to look for Lime. Alexei's worried about Irina's health & proposes (26-31). Alexei tells the empress he plans to kill Duke Sordier, not work with him. Alexei has monster blood (32). Valentin interrupts, but can't stop the wedding, so he gives Irina a map she can use to escape & she gives him the jewel from the rosary to protect him from their father’s brainwashing. Najejudah, Alexei's sister, is upset he's making changes to the manor without consulting her & plans on keeping her power. Duke Sordier sent Bella to make sure Irina takes the poison. Najejudah tells Irina she'll continue performing the duties of archduchess because Irina never left Sordier, & is surprised when Irina agrees. Najejudah tells Alexei she won't accept Irina & he tells her if she keeps it up, he'll take it as her turning her back on House Ruslan. Alexei brings Irina the same food he did & Lime & Irina confesses he reminds her of her "childhood friend". He promises to become the best husband (33-37).

Perang pemikiran akhir-akhir ini lebih halus, keliatan wajar, keren apalagi, yatawwaaaaa!

Kalau ga bekalin diri dengan pemahaman agama yang mumpuni, kelindas kita. Belajar agama, syariat yang kita nilai terkesan kaku, seolah batu sandungan, pemahaman jumud. Padahal, yang jumud itu orang yang cuman ngerti syariat sebatas kulitnya. Maka dibutuhkan kesungguhan dan kesabaran ekstra dalam meniti jalan menuntut ilmu.

Kalau kalian termakan dengan kampanye isme-isme ini dan itu dalam balutan kekinian, ya silakan aja. Asalkan makin merasa terbaluti, kuatkan lagi pondasi keilmiahan ilmu agamanya. Tapi abis itu, dijamin ada 2 pilihan. Kalian mau condong ke isme-isme ini dan itu atau belajar ilmu syar'i yang katanya JUMUD. Karna, keduanya akan saling hantam. Bahasa syariatnya, syubhat atau bahasa kerennya abu-abu.

Dulu, saya sempat berpikir bahwa agama ini membatasi pergerakan saya. Bahkan, pernah hampir menghentikan pencarian 'hidayah' sebab terlalu banyak syubhat yang saya temui, entah dari buku bacaan, medsos, pertemanan, komunitas, pengajar dll. Tapi, karena rasa ingin tahu yang besar, sehingga terus memotivasi untuk mengkaji lebih lagi dan lagi. Dan hal yang saya dapatkan, semakin dikaji, semakin ngerti bahwa Islam ini sederhana. Yang rumit manusianya yang tidak mencukupkan dirinya dengan syariat. Kenapa tidak puas? Karna tidak mengkaji lebih jauh sesuai standar prosedur yang sudah ditetapkan dalam proses 'belajar'. Merasa sudah tahu banyak padahal aslinya ga tau apa-apa. Itu pengalaman.

Setahun lebih belakangan, saya concernbelajar psikologi. Akhir dari semua yang saya dapatkan apa? Alih-alih mencari psikologi yang bersifat umum, ternyata Islam sudah mencakup Psikologi. Intinya, berikan dulu pondasi tauhid yang baik. Setelah itu, Psikologi Islam. Abis itu, silakan baca buku psikologi umum, karna dasar pemahaman psikologi Islam akan mencounter isme-isme diluar sana.

Hati nurani kita akan memberikan kode ke mana kita harus membawa diri kita demi keselamatan akhirat.

Pada beberapa 'isme', kata keselamatan itu jumud di telinganya. Ya, silakan saja. Dan ujung dari isme yang kita pegang adalah pengamalan. Dan pada akhirnya hanyalah amalan yang bisa membebaskan kita kelak di akhirat. Jika isme ini hanya kita jadikan bahan perdebatan tanpa adanya nilai amal kebajikan yang kita harapkan disana, lebih baik pulang ke rumah, matikan lampu, naik kasur, tarik selimut, tidur dan selamat bermimpi indah.

Syariat; pagar, batasan. Ada yang sesuai akal, ada yang tidak. Ada yang sesuai perasaan, ada yang tidak. Sebenarnya, syariat itu menyesuaikan. Yang tidak menyesuaikan adalah manusia yang merasa akalnya sudah di atas segala-galanya. Padahal, akal kita masih terbatas. Ada beberapa hal tentang akhirat yang menurut alquran kalau dibaca tidak masuk di akal kita, tapi nanti setelah kita berada di alam akhirat, akal kita barulah sampai. Untuk pembuktiannya, silakan wafat dulu.

Makanya, dalam religiulitas ada namanya Iman. Lantas dimana fungsi iman jika segala sesuatu harus kita landaskan dengan akal -akal kita yang terbatas di dunia- ?

Manusia memang dibekali akal untuk mengkaji. Tapi tetap ada yang harus kita counter. Kunci dari semuanya adalah terus belajar, perhatikan adab-adab dalam belajar termasuk pemilihan guru. Budak akal dan perasaan itu kurang baik buat kesehatan iman dan imun. Stay safe, gaes.
