It was difficult, but we did it. We've written a lot, so, read on below. Hope it's worth it!

How did they first meet?

What was their first impression of each other?

Hibari & Iroha: The two of them had never really known of each other's existence before their unlikely meeting. Well, Iroha knew about Hibari. Not many people in Namimori don't know about him, but she's never really encountered him personally. An absolute talent for avoiding trouble! Why didn't Hibari know about her, even though she's sort of part of the club and club presidents have to interact with the Disciplinary Committee? It's such a universally forgotten club that it's not even monitored by the Disciplinary Committee, that's all. However, after meeting with Iroha, Hibari did pay attention to this club, but more on that later.

Anyway, it was definitely a bad one first impression. Iroha decided that it would be best not to encounter this guy again, but she didn't take into account Hibari's vindictiveness, so they had to meet many times in the future. Hibari, despite his surprise, was not happy and thought Iroha… had lost her mind and fear.

Mukuro & Anri: Mukuro was initially wary of Anri’s kindness. He was one of the first people in Namimori (excluding Hibari, who knew anyway, and Reborn) to find out that Anri was involved with the triad, so there was no way he could believe that she herself knew nothing about it, and was treating Mukuro well.

After he realized that Anri doesn't really know anything about Shui Zhi Xin, he started to think she's a fool, too naive for this world since she believes him so thoughtlessly. Anri, on the other hand, felt sorry for Mukuro for a long time and thought he was a miserable person. For her, this guy seemed like someone in need of support and understanding, and she wanted to support him no matter what. That was until she realized who was beating up the students of Namimori Middle School, much to her dismay.

Who felt romantic feelings first?

Hibari & Iroha: Well... Iroha and Hibari have a complicated relationship with romance. While Hibari is not without romantic feelings, his approach is really different from the usual stuff in the sorts of love affairs. Rather than experiencing fleeting crushes, he obviously tends to treat his emotions more subtly. Iroha, on the other hand, treats romance with caution, relying on her limited understanding from romance manga. Thus, their journey to recognizing and accepting romantic feelings for each other is marked more by a gradual process of understanding and coming to terms with each other's presence.

With them, it is more about discovering everyday comfort in each other's presence. It is more of a relationship marked by simplicity and subtlety, centered on the comfort and happiness they find later in each other's company. Am I comfortable with you? Does the day get better around you? I don't need more than that.

Mukuro & Anri: It’s hard to say who was first, in their case too. Anri was deeply hurt and angry at Mukuro for his deception, and yet she couldn't stop thinking and worrying about him in prison, while he reached out to her, wanting more of the affection and kindness she had managed to share with him, and reached out so much that he built a bridge between him and the illusion-resistant Anri in her dreams with a pendant (with his blood), which he instructed Ken and Chikusa to give to her.

Anri gradually loosened her boundaries under the pressure of his charm, and Mukuro became increasingly attached to the soft light she radiated for him, so it's hard to say who exactly was the first to feel a specifically romantic attachment to the other.

Did either of them try to resist their feelings?

Hibari & Iroha: It's unlikely that they both had a definitive "no, I don't love them" moment. More likely they brushed off any mention of romantic feelings between them. Iroha might have done so more actively. Eventually, when they reached a point of understanding and acceptance, they had no reason left to deny or resist their connection. After all, why should they when they found comfort and fulfillment in each other's company?

Mukuro & Anri: Both of them? Someone like Mukuro would be more likely to insinuate that he wants to use her and her connection to one of the great triads and Anri is too offended by his deception to let herself just fall in love without thinking it through a hundred times. Is this another trap? Another deception? She couldn't afford to be deceived like this twice, let loose what remains of her dignity. At some point her defenses had weakened, though, and his feelings had overpowered his stubbornness and self-delusion.

What would their lives be like if they had never met?

Hibari & Iroha: On this point, would rather speak more for Iroha. For Iroha, meeting Hibari played quite an important role in her journey of growth and self-discovery. His desire to be free and independent served as a guiding light for her as she overcame life's challenges. Perhaps without Hibari, she would have been able to become a more confident individual anyway, but his influence has certainly left an indelible mark on her personal development. Hibari's unique outlook and attitude towards life contributed to her growth, molding her character in ways that could not have been otherwise. In various ways, he proved to be one of the most important catalysts for Iroha's personal growth.

Mukuro & Anri: We already know all about Mukuro. Anri... Mukuro's influence on her life was, of course, very big. Sooner or later she would have ended up in the underworld anyway. Before the Varia Arc, the adult Lambo knows her as White Lotus of Shui Zhi Xin, a rather powerful faction head who won the election for the seat by her own efforts. Because of Mukuro, Anri has formed her own view of the mafia, independent of her father's vision and upbringing. Her altruistic view of the world was transformed by their interactions, she began to think more of herself than of others, and he became a support for the beginnings of her selfishness and ego, which he actively indulged. Her relationship with him saved her from the oppressive loneliness that a status-conscious person always carries.

What was their "flirting stage" like?

Hibari & Iroha: Mmm... Their flirting stage was characterized by endless catching up throughout Middle Nami. But Iroha felt no fear, instead enjoying every moment, much to her personal surprise. It was like a game of cat and mouse. Hibari pursued Iroha relentlessly, while Iroha gracefully dodged his attempts to catch her.

Mukuro & Anri: When Mukuro got bored, he would sneak into Anri's dreams and take control of them. It was quite unusual for him to be confronted with her nightmares or complete darkness every time, and he used his powers to turn her dreams into more peaceful ones, making them the setting for their dates to match his boundless imagination. Initially, Anri was annoyed that she saw Mukuro in every dream she had, but over time she grew accustomed to his constant appearances, and her sleep became much deeper and calmer with his interference.

How do their friends and family feel about them as a couple?

Hibari & Iroha: Tsuna had hoped to the last minute that Iroha would come to her senses and change her mind. Okay, jokes aside, he was certainly... He was surprised, but accepted her choice, as long as the two of them were happy together, so be it. There were few people who were pretty surprised by their relationship, perhaps the ones who were cheering and feeling unrealistic joy the most was Kusakabe and Ryohei. That's definitely who was rooting for their relationship. About the family... Will just say that Iroha's mother dislikes Hibari.

Mukuro & Anri: Hibari has had a grudge against Mukuro before, and his relationship with Anri is an excuse for him to kill this guy. He's not trying to kill anyone, but Li Fang, Anri’s childhood friend and bodyguard, still wary of their relationship. He is happy, but her choice of partner for him is certainly not endearing. Well, and Anri’s father would not be too eager to see his son-in-law a juvenile murderer, who broke even the laws of the mafia. Perhaps only Kyoko and Chrome were really happy for Anri and Mukuro. Ken had resisted having Anri in their company for a long time, but he had been… bribed.

What quality has forged the strongest bonds of friendship for your OC? Shared values or beliefs? Time spent together working towards a common aim? Complimentary skills or personalities? Or perhaps just absolutely hating the same things?

It's hard to say what exactly has forged the strongest bonds of friendship for Kei. He tends to form connections with people who somehow find his bad luck endearing rather than annoying. Sometimes people end up feeling protective of him, despite his tendency to attract accidents and misfortune. Whether it's the shared sense of frustration at the universe's constant attempts to knock him down or just a mix of sympathy and amusement, he often finds himself surrounded by friends who seem to find a unique charm in his unlucky nature. It's a kind of friendship that's built on the shared understanding that life is never predictable when you're around Kei.

Is your OC someone that their friends or companions can rely upon in times of difficulty? Are they a pillar of strength for others? Or do they depend upon others to meet their emotional needs, but find themselves unable to reciprocate in turn?

Honestly, Kei's not the most reliable person in the world. Between his bouts of bad luck constantly ruining his plans and his tendency to crack under pressure, it's doubtful that his friends would choose him as the go-to person in a crisis situation. He's more likely to be the one needing support than providing it. But somehow, his friends see past his flaws and accept him for who he is. Maybe it's because they find his constant bad luck kind of endearing (Miyako for sure).

What has been the greatest test of their friendship with a close companion or ally? Did the relationship survive this? If so, then what helped in repairing that connection? If not, then did they let the friendship go without regret?

So. His the most close friend for some time was only… Miyako. Yeah. And the greatest test of their friendship for Kei came during a particularly disastrous science experiment. Kei, in his typical clumsy fashion, managed to accidentally create a chemical explosion in a lab, destroying all their Miyako’s research data. Miyako, who was working on a project with him, was kinda sad and furious. Kei, being the magnet for accidents that he is, was devastated that one reckless mistake cost him a friendship. Surprisingly, Miyako eventually forgave him after a heartfelt apology and a promise to be more careful in the future. Now, they look back on that incident as just another chapter in their weird friendship.

How strong are the bonds of friendship for your OC? Do their platonic relationships always rank lower in importance than their romantic partnerships or their family loyalties? Or do they have a friend with whom they have forged a bond deeper than blood or romance could ever equal?

If there's one thing consistent about Kei's luck, it's the resilience of his friendships. Whether it's the seemingly unbreakable bond with friends who laugh at his misfortune or those who secretly offer him support on his bad days, Kei somehow manages to form strong connections with a unique flair. While he may stumble in every aspect of his life, his friends' loyalty remains unwavering. It's almost as if their bond can weather any storm, including his perpetual accidents and blunders. So, no, his platonic relationships are just as important as the rest, even though they can be a bit chaotic.

Does your OC draw strength from the thought of their friends? Do they sometimes push themselves onwards for the sake of their companions - or in memory of the sacrifices of others - when they would otherwise give up and accept failure? Or do they see themselves as uniquely capable or responsible, regardless of what others may or may not have done?

Surprisingly, Kei does find strength in the thought of his friends. Despite his bad luck constantly bringing him down, he often draws motivation from the support of his companions. There are times when the thought of disappointing them or letting them down acts as a powerful driving force, helping him to keep moving forward even when the odds are stacked against him. His friends' loyalty and faith in him serve as a constant reminder that he's not alone in his struggles.

Hello 🍎Anon 🫶✨👀 Thank you for sending this over and enabling me to yap more about my blorbos 🥰🥰🥰 I only know what to talk about when I draw them, but for pure text posts I often blank out on what to say, so I love asks! I will try my best to give you Kana crumbs too!

🍎Kana: What controversies/drama would your character incite in fandom?

If Kana were a canon character, Kana and controversies/drama are like blood brothers, like soulmates. They are a set package. It wasn't there at the start or perhaps there will be initial discourse about her gender. But fandom will find out eventually that they have bigger fish to fry. As more and more layers of her character gets revealed, the more fandom discourse there is. She is certainly not a character for people who view things in a black or white manner or those with low reading comprehension 😭🤣😭🤣 *looks at those gear grindingly loud mfs on twi//ter*

On the surface, she would prob be reduced to either a some kind of siscon (memes included) or straight-up a cruel/heartless character with ulterior motives ("maybe her love for Kurumi is just a facade? and she has ulterior motives?"). If you peel off the first few layers, you will see that she really does genuinely love Kurumi and her family, for better or for worse. If you peel off more layer, you will see an asshole. If you peel even more layers, you will see an even bigger asshole banned from hell.

Also do you know that one meme where they keep putting Oi\\kawa (from Hai\\kyuu, a VOLLEYBALL series) in a line up of actual villains/war criminals?

Kana would be there, except she kinda deserves to be there. People who don't get the joke would complain about why Oi//kawa keeps getting included in these fuckass lists that includes Kana and other messed up characters lmao (truthfully i didn't get it at first when i saw it and was lowkey pissed since im an oi//kawa oshi lmaooo now it's just funny every time i see it. still crazy to see him lined up with characters like d//io or aiz//en or gri//ffith like damn wwwwww)

The least spoilery thing I can come up with on the spot on is Hibari telling her "You're so stupid (affectionate & relieved)" after she does (and says) something objectively very stupid that could even give YuiRumi&family a heart attack & a stroke simultaneously.

Short, simple, effective. ME, personally, I will lose my mind and latch onto it even on my deathbed.

For Kurumi, I think modern fandom would focus too much on her gender? There would be a divide in the fandom based on how they interpret the "Gender: ?" in her profile lmao We can see a lot of people insisting that she's non-binary. That's fine and all, everyone is free to interpret characters as they like (except if the creator has reiterated clear rules and boundaries for it). The problem is that we can also see people say that you can't refer to her as anything else but non-binary sjdgbhjsdfvhjsbfd

🤖Yui: If your character had a breakout show/film/comic, what would the plot be? Who would be in their supporting cast?

My understanding of this question is that it's asking for a Yui spin-off where he's the MC! It would be in a light novel format under the romantic comedy genre (with some sci-fi, perhaps? because he loves making robots hahaha inb4 it becomes a mecha story). The story's main couple would be him and Hiyori, because that's what Yui would've wanted. He is delusional and down bad.

In terms of shipping, we actually have three main ships we've committed to. It's just that I often end up posting about the two CanonxOC pairs more sjkdfjskdf but the third one is an OCxOC pair between Yui and Hiyori (YuiHiyo). Sowwwwyyy Yui! uwu Hiyorin is holding me at syringe-point and telling me to shut the fuck up about it.

Either she always looked cold, or he was just being nice and considerate towards her all the time. Not wanting to disregard his good will, "thank you Yamamoto-kun, your jacket is warm. Aren't you going to be cold though?"

With hushed breaths, the two were stalking through the woods. Eyes and ears open to any sign of life within the near vicinity.

Every snap of branches or the rustling of the leaves would have either or both quickly glancing in the direction of the source of the sound. You could cut with a knife the tension that hung between the two. Keeping close, without a word exchanged between the two, they relied on their instincts and their trust in each other to navigate through the woods.

Yamamoto stops suddenly and whirls around, having sensed something, but Squaletta had reacted first. She pushes Yamamoto out of the way and a splatter of red fills his field of vision. She says something about how they couldn’t have gone far. Before it’s too late, give chase.

“Bad luck that they got the white part of your uniform. It’s going to be hard to get the stains out.” The Rain Guardian doesn’t hesitate and he runs off in the direction that the bullet came from, deeper into the woods.

Today, the Vongola were playing a game of war with paintball guns. Reborn had opted to train them in this manner and had recruited some of the Varia members to play with them. Yamamoto had been paired off with Squaletta and now it was just him to finish the game.

I've been thinking about KHR's bonds. (When am I not?) And I've thought about the way that Amano likes to write bonds. You'd be pressed in this fandom to find people who don't care about at least one area of it whether that's the Vongola kids, Varia, the Arcobaleno, Kokuyo, etc. After a conversation with my best friend, I realized it's kinda interesting how Amano has somehow successfully created so many realistic bonds for such a diverse cast. Like we see so little of them, but you'd be pressed to convince the KHR fans that the funeral wreaths don't adore Byakuran.

So there's the thing right? Katekyo hitman reborn is the shonen that is 100% about the power of friendship. Like yes other shounens use it and its a meme for a reason, but they also have other stuff going on. Other motivations. Other theming. Meanwhile Tsuna growing up and becoming a better person for his friends /is/ the theme of Reborn. That is the entire motivation for the series. There's no grandiose scheme where Tsuna will save the Mafia world and be the chosen one, though the series tries to put Tsuna in this position to his chagrin.

As evidenced by the scene in Future arc, where Tsuna is unable to light his ring because he is so stressed about sending everyone back to the future and fighting this unknown powerful enemy. And so Reborn walks up and tells him "You're not a hero. Stop trying to be. It's not like you. What were you thinking about when you first lit your flame?" And he responded with "I just..wanted to protect Kyoko." Reborn satisfied with that answer then asks, "And who do you want to protect now?" And Tsuna answers with "Everyone." And then his ring lit up. That's the core to the series!! Right there!! All it ever was 403 chapters worth of these characters just wanting to protect each other.

So, in talking to my best friend, he pointed out that outside of daily life arc, these characters don't really have moments of vulnerability towards each other. Frankly, it seems the cast of KHR is allergic to being vulnerable. There aren't that many scenes of "you guys are important to me. I love you guys." Y'know stuff that tells the audience yeah these guys are close. And when Tsuna TRIES to have these moments, like with Reborn, Reborn pretends like he's asleep and doesn't hear Tsuna say that he's going to save him. Yet somehow, we all understand that these characters love each other so deeply.

And that made me realize it's all in the dialogue and actions, rather than inherent bonding moments. It's Reborn clenching his fist when Tsuna is getting gravely injured by Daemon. It's Yamamoto and Gokudera having a fight about Gokudera not being worthy of being Tsunas right hand man as Gokudera doesn't care for the other members of their family. And Gokudera never addressing this again, there's no verbal indication that Gokudera even heard Yamamotos criticism. Yet later during Merone invasion, Gokudera reaches a hand out to catch Yamamoto when they're getting separated. And later, he protects Ryoheis unconscious body as he is fighting Gamma to the death. It's Byakuran saving the funeral wreaths from their miserable lives and them protecting him even when he begins to strike them down. It's the way Mukuro runs to assist Chrome when she is in danger, or swears up and down that he is not allied with Tsuna but also feeds the Vongola information about Byakuran. It's the way Squalo refuses to cut his hair for his vow to Xanxus, or Mammon's gratitude towards Xanxus's willingness to fight for them. It's Ken ensuring that Chrome is always fed by giving her the snacks and candy they bought. These characters don't need bonding moments, their love for each other shines through their every breath and finger twitch.

And I think that's a fascinating way to write a connection on Amanos behalf. And it was done so well we can't even argue that these characters all love each other.

The way I summarized it is most characters love each other because they spend time together and improve together. KHR characters spend time together and get better together because they love each other

🥩 (steak) - Does your oc have any coping mechanisms? Healthy or unhealthy?

Iroha: She often employs the tactic of simply ignoring problems and acting as if they don't exist, hoping that somehow things will work out on their own. This coping mechanism is deeply ingrained in her, and it can be quite ineffective at times. She often attempts to tackle challenges that concern those near to her, but if the problem pertains to herself, she might unconsciously choose to overlook it or delay addressing it until a later time.

Anri: She tries to maintain the image of a successful and unflappable girl, and this applies to everything, including in relation to herself. She insinuates that she has no problems, denies them and assures herself that they are something she can handle. Often in order to postpone solving the problem and not think about it, she goes to work or some other activity: studying, reading, cleaning.

🥊 (boxing glove) - Has your character ever been in a fight? Did they win? Do they fight often? Are they professionally trained or self taught? Do they enjoy fighting or only do so when necessary?

Iroha: Mmmm… Well… While Iroha is by no means an experienced fighter, she has developed quick reflexes as a result of constantly being surrounded by conflict due to Tsuna's presence. In situations where she feels threatened, she won't hesitate to defend herself, utilizing any nearby objects as makeshift weapons. Whether it's her backpack or a pen, she has been known to strike with surprising precision when backed into a corner.

Anri: She knows self-defence because when Anri was a child, she had to occasionally stop Hibari from being overly aggressive (he was even more violent when he was younger), but her experience with him has been limited to small fights until recently. Although she can fight hand-to-hand, Anri relies on her gun for most of her fighting. Who was your OC’s first friend? What drew them to each other? Were they expecting to get along? Or was it a surprise to them both?

It is difficult to pinpoint with certainty who Haruka's very first friend was. Like the leaves on a maple tree, memories tend to flutter away, leaving only faint impressions of who played that crucial role in their early life. However, what can be said is that their first friend was someone who understood them on a deeper level, bringing out a side of themselves that remained hidden beneath the surface. Sadly it doesn’t last long enough.

Does your OC find it easy to make friends? What barriers are there to them doing so? Has this changed over time?

Yes, generally speaking Haruka finds it relatively easy to make friends. They possess an affinity for connecting with others and are often seen as approachable and sociable. However, their tendency to maintain a certain emotional distance means they may struggle with forming truly intimate connections. While they have no trouble making acquaintances, they may find it more challenging to cultivate deeper, long-lasting friendships due to the barriers they've instinctively erected around themselves. Over time, these barriers might loosen as they learn to trust and open up more.

Do other people experience your OC as having a “peaceful” energy? Or are they inclined to restlessness - or even fractiousness? Do others find them relaxing company?

To what extent does your OC believe in the perfectibility of mankind? Do they believe that they are playing a part, no matter how small, in ushering in a new utopian age of co-operation and peace? Haruka holds a viewpoint that tends more towards the latter side of the spectrum. They perceive the imperfection of mankind as an inherent, unchangeable aspect of humanity. In their eyes, despite any efforts to strive towards an ideal society, people are intrinsically flawed. Therefore, they approach the concept of perfectibility with skepticism, recognizing that the best we can achieve is a delicate balance of trade-offs and compromises, rather than a utopian age of perfect peace and cooperation.

Who is your OCs most unlikely friend? What made their friendship so unexpected?

The question is quite complicated, perhaps it's Gokudera. seriously doubt he'll pay attention to Haruka, and they also have such characters..... Most likely they'll unknowingly annoy him and it'll be like a dog yapping with a cat who doesn't give a fuck. Can that be called a friendship? Well... I don't know. Haruka doesn't mind considering them friends tho.

I think Yui would suit any world where intelligence and strategy is a main focus or even ones that has lots of technology/machines used in it (appropriate genres should be war, psychological, mecha, futuristic, etc). However, I don't think he'll fit that well or shine that much in worlds where raw strength is the main focus and the only thing that drives the story. His physical capabilities ain't that bad (it only ever looks really bad if you compare it against Kana & Kurumi), but that isn't his specialty.

Kurumi is definitely a planner when it comes to planning her outfits! She's very committed and meticulous about it and it is something that she considers as a major part of her identity, as well as a way to truly express herself. So she takes this aspect very seriously. Everything else though? She usually just wings it. Don't worry, Yui is usually there to do the thinking anyway.

Unfortunately, Yui can't be there during quizzes and exams. She's on her own on that one.

Science is not exactly a subject she's good on, but she appreciates it to an extent since it's related to Yui's interests. On the other hand, Art is definitely something she personally puts more importance to, since fashion is technically art.

Hibari x Haru (Okay this was never blog canon, but I’m breaking the rules here for just this one. There was one specific Hibari blog many years ago who got very close to my Haru. He gifted her a lil Hibird, in fact (If I’m ever mentioning Mi-chan that is a throwback reference). Hibari gets an honorary placement here all because that blog meant a lot to me and he is one of the reasons why I didn’t quit KHR rpc years ago. I mean, I also ship them in general so it still fits the meme theme shhhhhh)
