The Giggleland demo kinda sucks and that's amazing if you've been closely following the ARG and know that it's completely on purpose.

The generically spooky atmosphere, the clichéd voiceless protag who is motivated by a desire to find someone in the scary theme park, the tedious and repetitive fetch quests, the creepy background lore that just suddenly comes in without much fanfare?

This is the work of someone intentionally trying to cash in on Mascot Horror and the concept of harmless kids' media turned dark in-universe and doing it badly.

You can tell KMW has no love for these characters or their world. Their only purpose is to be as shocking and unsettling as possible. There's no passion here, no sincere desire to use these dark elements to try and tell a good story. It's just out to maliciously scare you.

Nothing about this game is right, because it's the result of exploitation, creative theft and a fundamental misunderstanding of what horror, and especially Mascot Horror, at it's best could and should be.

Truth be told, we don't know who the creator of the game "Giggleland" is, since they use the nickname "KMW", but I have a theory (or rather, a guess) that the person who created the new mascot horror game must've been inspired by another mascot horror game as well (the game could possibly be "Shipwrecked 64" created by Squeeks DeCorgee, which happened to use its own ARG). And who exactly loves ARGs and wanted a fresh spin on Mascot Horror games since playing "Shipwrecked 64"? One guess would be Nick Nocturne from the YouTube channel "Night Mind" ever since he completed the gameplay of "Shipwrecked 64". He did say that after he had played that game, he wanted more. And what does someone do when they want more of it? They go and create a game of their own. My guess is that it's actually Nick Nocturne's game, and let's not forget that he's got a boyfriend who's good at artwork, so the art of the game must be from him to help stylize the game Nick made. And also, doesn't it seem strange that for one month, you're suddenly NOT Ad-free, and you get ads, and one of them is an ad for a game called "Giggleland"? It could obviously be the doings of a really popular YouTuber asking the higher-ups to show off an ad for a game that they made.

But remember, I'm not saying that it is Nick Nocturne's creation. It's just a guess, I could be wrong, and I'm not going to point fingers. It could just as well be a possibility!

on that note, i also think simon may end up being the bad guy, since eliot starts out innocent in the cartoons, but then turns evil, or maybe he seems evil, but turns out he's not? maybe he's the one in the eliot costume and was made to do evil by sm sort of ritual or smthin done by kmw??
