On this day in 2001, the Kirby anime started airing in Japan, meaning that we share a birthday! :'D And considering it's the 20th this year, I just HAD to draw something. I've loved Kirby since I was little, so happy birthday to both of us! ⭐️💕 (Please somebody release the complete series on DVD I’m BEGGING)

6: Hoshi no Kirby!

So! Today is the 20th anniversary of the Kirby Anime!

It is very important to me because it makes me happy since I was a child! So this is a very special drawing!

Happy anniversary to something that has kept me so happy through the worst few years of my life. Though it’s been hard, a lot of people have found comfort in this show and I want to celebrate that. Below is just some personal input, a story if you will. Feel free to ignore it if you want. Okay nvm I’ll just summarize it: Youtube video had Kirby music. Went on a hunt to find out what that music was. Got tired, gave up and “Oh look an episode of Kirby Right Back at Ya.” “God these voices are annoying. Oh, there’s a sub?” Clicks on the first episode subbed. The next 5 years of my life? GONE.

For Kirby Right Back at Ya’s 20th anniversary I decided to do a screenshot redraw of my favorite episode, Hour of the WolfWrath.

Kirby gals for the anniversary! I wanted to do more of the gals, but I thought I'd keep it simple for the sake of my own wrists. And, um, you know, trying to figure out how to figure out how to fit in the Twins Nuts without making them barely intelligible.

In honor of the Kirby anime’s 20th anniversary the other day, I’ve unearthed an ancient, never before seen sketchbook comic I did WAAAY back in like... 2008?

😅 Lord help me.

It's so old... the pre-teen angst is EVERYWHERE!!! And not only was my spelling terrible, but to really hammer home that "Zorro-esque" Spanish accent for Meta Knight, I put backquotes, apostrophes, and tildes on letters where those things just DID NOT BELONG! 🤣

That aside though, my pencil game was on POINT! I am so proud of baby-me for these drawings, and how I used to be able to just fill whole sketch books with dorky comics nobody was ever allowed to look at. They are inspiring to me even now, and I wish I could be so carefree to do that again someday.

Now... I can elaborate on the story more if anybody is actually interested, but this mostly this focused on Meta Knight having a nightmare projected through his glowy eyes, retelling an old adventure between him and the Star Warriors, particularly the Star Warrior with the epee saber, sunglasses, and feathered hat. ⤵

The story told about the creation of Kirby and his relation to Meta Knight (spoiler: it is probably not what you think it is), as well as *Spanish Guitar Solo* a surprise visit from Meta Knight's mother!!! 😲😅

Kirby of the Stars' 20th anniversary

So I heard that the Kirby anime's 20th anniversary is coming up soon. Although I don't have a favorite episode, what got me into the anime in the first place was the fact that I was just starting to get interested in the Kirby franchise. The first episode of the Kirby anime I watched was Shell Shocked (also known as Naked Escargoon in the Japanese version). Prior to watching the the anime, I watched a reanimated collab version of Cartoon Buffoon (also known as New Anime Program: Dedede of the Stars in the Japanese version). As far as whether I prefer to watch the Japanese or English version of the Kirby anime, I prefer to watch them both.

When I first watched the show back in ‘02, I mostly loved Sword and Blade, I think because they were mostly blank slates. Also Meta Knight, of course.

Currently I’m all about Fumu. I’ve come to appreciate her more as I got older, and find her incredibly relatable.
