My Rise! Venus and Jennika

The girlies<333 @roninreverie is the origin of the big brain idea of Venus getting adopted by Grandpa Sho and Jennika Big Mama's Assistant and the mystic abilities

I chose Kemp Ridley turtle for Venus because I liked how similar its color scheme was to idw Venus, I didn't realize until looking at roninreverie's Venus that she was the same turtle species so I tried making Jennika a different one by making a list of semi-aquatic turtles (to reference how the fandom like to make BM's assistant a slider like Leo) then narrowing that list down to 7(because I had 7 sea turtles to choose from for Venus) then using a random name picker to narrow it down to 3 and chose from there

And then

I ended up choosing a painted turtle.

THE SAME SPECIES AS RONINREVERIE'S

I DIDN'T RELAIZE TILL I WAS TRYING TO DECIDE COLOR PALLETTE FOR HER AND LOOKING AT RONINREVERIE'S FOR INSPO AND READ HER REF SHEET AGAIN AUGH

I was in too deep to change it tho, it was just written in the stars Rise! Jennika is to be a painted turtle I guess (this reminds of when I shipped Mikey with my spider guy oc and discovered MilesxMikey a few days later)

Kimie Plautilla Hamato

The eldest of the turtles

Same age as April

Uses her classic weapon of tessen

Shorty but built like a brick shithouse

Girly girl (affectionate)

I didn't mean to give her gyaru like makeup but now that I think about it I think I think she'd love that kind of subculture

Her cloaking brooch form looks like a mix of Yoshi and Atsuko, which if Sho had been alive to see would really fuck him up me thinks

Her mystic ability is water bending!

She's also a really strong martial artist, had a pilgrimage to China to learn Kung Fu (also tie in to prev incarnations being raised Chinese)

While she grew up knowing Hamato traditions and Hamato ninpō, she stopped practicing when Grandpa Sho passed away out of fear she wouldn't/would contact his spirit and that's when she went on a warrior's pilgrimage to China

Hence why she was unaware of her brother's and Splinter's existence and Shredder's defeat

Can lift Raph in one hand

Wears her ninja mask occasionally, because she sometimes wacks herself in the face with the braid but refuses to get rid of it

Somehow both the most clumsy and graceful of the turtles

Has confused/complicated feelings about Splinter, he's technically her dad but also the grandson that shirked his duties for "Hollywood Land" and causd great pain to her beloved Grandpa Sho

But also was kidnapped and then mutated and had to raise 4 baby mutants on his own so who's to say if he would have stayed away forever or tried to reach out

She grew up with an image of Yoshi that would have been like a wayward big brother or cousin to her

And then it turns out that that's her dad which is a big Hm. moment for her

Older than Raph but younger than the elder sisters of the Hamato Clan

Assassin and Big Mama's Assistant

She teaches Elisabetta poisons

Uses tekkō-kagi and senbon

Not a fan of the ninja masks and only wore it because of a x5 puppy dog eyes from her siblings

Her human form looks like a mix of Karai and Atsuko, and I have her 12 Karai's hair style because it is a Look

Similar to a dad not wanting a pet and then becoming obsessed with it, she wasn't super into being a family with the turtles at first but is now ride or die for them that she hides under her bad girl attitude

Mikey knows

Donnie looks up to her the most, for he too holds the bad boy image (lies)

Her existence was a big driving force for Big Mama's redemption arc like how Mikey was for Draxum and Kimie for Sho(although I don't think he really needed one)

She thinks of Splinter more as her mom's ex(?) Boyfriend than her dad. And the less said about Draxum the better, her and Leo have roast sessions about him

Golden web mystic ( think spiderman)

Like a cat in how she bonds with her family, very private and not very social but she enjoys simply spending time in their presence with no interaction

While Kimie makes Plautilla her middle name like how the boys have their colors/Japanese names as middle names Míng Huì views Artemisia as her nickname rather than a new name hence the quotations

Speaking of their artist's names; they picked them out as a sort of bonding activity with the boys+April, to get them closer as siblings.

Plautilla's favorite nephew is Eijirou as they both rock tessen and are heavy hitters, tanks and gentle souls; while Artemisia doesn't actually really have a favorite and likes her nieces and nephews equally, although she spends the most time with Sandro and Elise because they spend the most time with Big Mama out of the next gen kids and she has the most things in common with those two.

#FandomFriday This mini comic strip by @roninreverie of Tech and Phee. It’s inspired by the Leia rescuing Han scene from “Return of the Jedi”. I think it’s a very believable scenario and would match up well with Phee’s capabilities. I don’t understand why Tech would be fully clothed in a tank, but we all know that Hemlock is a big enough jerk to just do that to him.

As for the clothes, it's accurate because they showed us Rex one (1) time without a shirt, and the Internet had no chill, and I firmly believe that is why Hunter is always bandaged on the outside of his shirt. They know we couldn't handle those physiques in the updated animation style LOL.

Hi so I found out that the Rise fandom shares a singular braincell(affectionate)

Because a month or so ago, I had a thought for a Rottmnt au where the turtles are separated. I’m working on designs for them, I check tumblr as a break, and I see at least a dozen AUs with this same core concept.

Not complaining tho, I do enjoy seeing where people go with this concept we all apparently thought of. It’s very cool, especially when minor concepts overlap but are still distinctly different. It’s awesome to see!

But that’s beside the point, the premise of my separated au is

What if Draxum tried to take the turtles back from Splinter?

The au revolves around the disaster twins trying to find their 2 missing brothers in the hidden city.

Their father tasked them with it, but their brothers are something they’ve always wondered about and hoped to some day meet. April is still the twos friend, and she is determined to come with them. So they set out with their fathers city key, and look for the first place their father said to check, the lab of Baron Draxum.

Here’s some basic info for the characters:

Leonardo

Same cocky asshole(I love him, dw) as ever, it’s still a mask for his insecurities. He just only has Donnie to annoy, for now.

He fears that he’s not useful enough for his family, being that Donnie is the smart one, Leo’s not that strong, and these feelings only get worse after seeing what his other brothers can do.

Gender: Trans boy

Sexuality: Gay

Pronouns: he/him

Donatello

Still has a affinity for all kinds of science, and has even worse issues with his own self worth than his canon version. He tolerates Nardo, barely.

He feels like he can only be of use for his inventions, and worries that if he asks for help, he is being a burden. Like his twin, his insecurities are multiplied after meeting his other brothers

(I realized that Draxum probably wouldn’t know, or care, about what Splinter called the turtles, so I had to make new names for him and “Raph”. Tang is the last name bc of the theory by @roninreverie, the point that’s relevant to this post is that big mama either is Tang Shen, or replaced her. + I’m not calling Him Big or Mama, it’s funny, but no. Yoshie is his first name bc it can translate to “Good Painting”(it fits bc he’s a creative), and it’s splinter’s real name. She obviously still has feelings for him.)

(Baron is the last name bc everyone refers to Baron Draxum as Draxum, so I assume Baron is the last name. Takeo is the first name bc it can mean “military/martial hero”(fits bc Draxum wanted to use the turtles as soldiers), and it has a strong and bold sound, which fits for his character.)

In the au they meet Raph first, since they destroy Draxums lab in the first episode still, and Takeo lives with him. They meet Mikey second, but don’t realize it’s actually him at first bc he’s wearing a cloaking Broach.

Will there be leosagi? Maybe. Will there be Shellshocked? Also maybe, but more likely than leosagi. RaMona? Probably, I like the dynamic they had in 2012.

"Why am I dressing up like this again?" Raine asked for what felt like the thousandth time as Eda covered their face in some questionably green paint.

"It's a suprise!" Eda replied which did little to settle Raine's nerves. Still Raine sat patiently on Eda's bed, trying not to move too much so that the paint didn't spill onto their purple jumpsuit.

"Ta-da" Eda proclaimed, apparently finally finished painting their face. Raine glanced at the mirror held up on the wall of Eda's bedroom to see that Eda had also added a green antennad headband to match their face along with earlier added shoulders pad and cape onto of the jumpsuit Raine already owned.

Raine rolled their eyes as Eda joined them besides the mirror, pointing finger guns at her reflection as she checked out her own green makeup along with the pointed hat and bathrobe that Eda claimed to have liberated from a museum.

"Well then, whaddaya think?" Eda asked, standing back.

Raine had to admit that the costume did pretty accurately capture the picture from the cover of the human item Eda had showed him. It was known as a video and the humans worshipped the device they were played on as it told true stories of their realms history. Eda had made them watch that particular video on one of their previous sleepovers and whislt Raine still didn't entirely understand why the human called Goku hated the demon Piccolo so much, they had still enjoyed the fight scenes.

"It's great. I just still don't understand why you've dressed me up in it." Raine stated.

"Because of this!"

Before Raine even had the chnave to ask what "this" was referring too, they were blinded by the brightest light they'd ever seen. When Raine was done blinking away stars, they saw that the light was beaming through the opening of an old wooden door that looked scarily similar to the briefcase Eda sometimes caried around.

"Wh-what... what is it?" Raine stammered, to shocked to comment on Eda's smirk as she learnt arms crossed agasint the door.

"A door to the human realm." She said in a tone that would've been non-chalant if it weren't for her shit eating grin.

Too shocked to speak, Raine stared at the blinding portal, numbly taking the plastic pumpkin head Eda placed on their arm.

They supposed that would at least explain how the Clawthornes came across so much human stuff.

"Come on!" Eda said.

But Raine found themselves rooted to the spot. They liked to think they were a pretty skilled witch. But this was barely comprehensible!

"Hey," Raine blinked to find that Eda back by their side, hand outstretched. "It's okay.  trust me." Eda said and for once Raine found no trace of teasing in her voice.

Raine accepted her hand, questioning if they were really going to follow Eda into trouble again. Raine stepped forward, all hesitation gone.

In an instance the walls of Eda's bedroom disappeared, replaced by a small forest of trees.

Through the branches, Raine could see a line of identical houses in parallel. They were suprised that it wasn't too dissimilar from the demon realm with headless statues and skeletons decorating the street that was lit by candles that burned flame red within orange fruits. People with horns, tails and fangs passed from house to house in a midst of cries and shouts.

"Are you sure this is the human dimension?" Raine asked.

"Are you doubting my brilliance?"

Raine just gave her a blank stare.

Eda had the gall to look offended.

"The humans call it Halloween. That's what I wanted to show you. It's great see. First you disguise yourself as a one of the humans most popular celebrities. Then you go to their houses one by one presenting your severed gourd head to the home owner. And if they don't give you an offering, we get to prank them within an inch of their lives!"

"Human holidays are weird." Raine stated, although they had to admit that humans did appear to be having fun.

"Not as weird as you." Eda said, elbowing them. Rained shoved her back.

"I beg I can get more candy than you!"

"Hey! I'm the human expect. I am so going to get more!" Eda declared before breaking through the branches.

Raine ran after her because after following her to the human realm, they might as well follow Eda anywhere.

Me crying about the kanji meanings of names:

I'm making a ROTTMNT version of "Venus/Mei Pieh Chi"

So look forward to that

I got the inspiration from @roninreverie 's version of rise Venus being taken in by Grandpa Sho and since it wouldn't really make sense for her to have the name Venus or a Chinese name I decided to give her a Japanese one referencing the meanings of the Chinese characters in her live action name

And y'all these names I'm looking at have such touching kanji meanings, so sweet and loving and just

Thinking about Grandpa Sho carefully choosing which kanji to use for his new ward just🥺😭

Putting all his hopes and love in the name for her

OMG I love this hahahaha. I can absolutely see Tech going through this as a powerpoint while they're all still processing him actually being alive, and he gets done and Wrecker raises his hand and is just like "YOU'RE ALIVE?"
