The Wedding…

Another scene we were deprived of 🥺

First of all, thanks for the ask, @dreamerofthewinds 🤭

I never know when an innocent question or mention can influence me, but this was one of those instances 😆

So yeah, I do get asked occasionally about Kakashi’s and Arina’s wedding.

It’s as “easy” as planning your own wedding, only even harder 😆

I don’t know when that should happen: probably after the war when he has completely let go of the past (even though I don’t really put that as an obstacle to their relationship in my stories). But still seems about right. Also the fact that he is to become Hokage also makes sense for this timeline - they should enjoy some time together before that happens. But on the other hand having kids right during his Hokage era is a bit cruel 🥴 but again, I don’t see a better option - going through war with the kids is hardly a better idea… so yeah, sacrifices must be made 🙈 after all, Minato and Kushina managed to have a family despite Minato becoming Hokage 🥲

But let’s get back to the marriage then, now that it’s settled for roughly half a year after the war ends…

I have too many and often controversial thoughts about this:

* they wouldn’t even want a grand wedding because both are not very public people

* but on the other hand, they would want some close people to share the day with

* Oops, the list went out of control

* Arina secretly wishes for a traditional ceremony but at the same time feels she doesn’t deserve it

* She also loves seeing Kakashi in kimono 🤭

* But I would want to see her in a “western” outfit 🤔

* I guess it’s possible that they had two ceremonies: Shinto and civil, which solves the problem with outfits: they get to wear both

* But Kakashi hates formal attire, especially western suits (head canon)

Also I can’t decide how to go around Kakashi’s mask and kiss: one option would be Arina to use the bouquet to cover them during the kiss.

On the other hand, I rather enjoy the naughty idea of Kakashi disrupting the ceremony by carelessly removing the mask for the kiss in the heat of the moment.

Imagine: they kiss, fully absorbed in each other. And at some point they simultaneously realize it’s dead silence in the hall. They break the kiss, glance sideways at the crowd to find everyone going “😳😲🫢🤩”

And Arina would poke Kakashi while everyone is still frozen and reproach him jokingly in whisper for stealing the moment 🤭🤭🤭 (I also think it’s a bit unfair to do that to a bride 😅).

So yeah, after all of these brainstorms, in the end I got a bit carried away and messed up completely with the illustration I made - there is no kiss during the Shinto ceremony, so they shouldn’t be dressed like that if they were kissing… 🤣

Well, the perks of being an artist is that you can draw as many absurd scenarios as you want 🤭

But I hope that one day I will find a satisfying solution for their “canon” wedding 🙈

The scene is as follows:

«Arina wiped away her tears, removed her hand from her face, and was about to continue walking, when she almost jumped on the spot: Kakashi was standing in front of her, barely at arm's length. There was concern in his eyes.

An indignant – and completely unfair – "are you spying on me?" was about to break from her lips, but Arina noticed just in time that Kakashi looked like he had just emerged from a skirmish. It was evident that he was on his way to the Hokage's office right after completing a mission that was unlikely a simple and routine one, given that he didn't even take the time to freshen up.

Arina opened her mouth slightly, but almost immediately pierced her lips together again. She hadn't seen him for over a month – just about since she discovered his role in her ‘sustenance’. In a way, it was for the best, as she never had the chance to express her opinion about it to him.

By now, the former passions had already settled down, and after a fleeting outburst of indignation, she suddenly wanted to embrace him like never before. However, she sharply rebuked herself.

"Are you... are you all right?" Kakashi was the first to break the silence. “Did someone hurt you?” His face began to darken rapidly, promising nothing good for the offender.

“No, no,” Arina hastened to assure him, “nobody did anything bad to me... But... but you?..” After taking a closer look at him, it was her turn to look at Kakashi with concern, bordering closely with horror: there were numerous abrasions on his body, his uniform was stained and torn in some places, his left shoulder bandaged, and unmistakable brownish marks appeared through the stale bandage. The deep shadows under his eyes indicated that he had not had a proper rest in a long time. “What about you?”

“Oh, what could possibly happen to me?” Kakashi shrugged his shoulders deliberately carelessly, covering a particularly spectacular slit in the abdomen area with his palm. “And yet... you're obviously upset about something. What happened?”

“It’s more of what will not happen…” Arina spoke with bitterness and hurried to bite her lip, feeling tears welling up again – her self-control was hanging by a thread. “Sorry, I need to go…”»

P.s.1 I’ve told about this before but at some point I looked up Arina’s name and one of the interpretations is that it comes from Ancient Greek Εἰρήνη and means “peace and tranquility” 😌

P.s.2 I almost flipped out when I looked in the stats and it turned out this artwork took me 22.5 hours to make 😵 I don’t know what slowed me down so much, I even cheated by using an old background… 🤦🏼‍♀️

Getting to know anew…

I was very skeptical about this artwork - I was sort of in art block - I keep wanting to draw something but I don’t know what 😬

I still don’t know, but oh well… maybe some day it will hit me 🙈

Anyways, so with this artwork, as time progressed and I stubbornly continued with it, I gradually began melting 🤭🫠

This scene is from the final chapter (17) of part 1 of my first fanfic (‘Outlander: Found on the Path of Life’). Basically after their first time (🤭) Arina gets a chance to admire Kakashi’s handsome face 🥵

«Kakashi smiled contentedly in response. He wanted to kiss her, but the girl held him back, cupping his face in her hands. She could finally get a proper look at his face, as if getting to know him anew: the previous time she didn't really manage to do it, too stunned by what had happened — she only fixed it with the edge of her consciousness.

Reality surpassed all expectations — she thought that Kakashi was hiding some kind of flaw under the mask. However, a charming mole to the left of his lower lip could hardly be considered a flaw — and so his face was just as fine as his body, Arina concluded. And as for the scars — as everyone knows, scars define a true warrior.

"Why do you wear the mask at all?" she breathed out: Kakashi, failing to reach her lips, gave free rein to his hands, causing sweet tremor all over Arina's body.

"Well... it adds to the appeal and mysteriousness, don't you agree?" he said in a velvety voice, pulled the girl to him and covered her lips with his after all.»

This is an improved illustration for a veeeery old chapter - chapter 5 of the first fanfic...

Ah, seems like ages ago... :D initially, I posted this illustration as an ink drawing and I crack up every time I see it because it's so ridiculous but also endearing at the same time 🙈

Also I'm looking at another illustration from that chapter, which I made like around 2.5 years ago and damn I need this to remind myself how much my art has changed 😱

A small extract from the chapter:

He knew perfectly well what it was like to wake up from a nightmare, and then take ages to recover senses, and the nightmare would not end with awakening, but instead would continue to devour you, drive you crazy — but in reality. He was just beginning to cope with it himself. So now he held her tightly to him, whispering a simple "it's okay, it's just a dream" and stroking her trembling shoulders and back, somewhat awkwardly.

In fact, at some point it dawned upon him that the back was completely bare, except for a strip of bandage and the hair — apparently, in the heat of the struggle, the ill-fated blanket had slipped off. Mentally giving himself a slap to get back on a serious track, he tried to make his soothing strokes as neutral as possible. It didn't help — it was still insanely obscene for him. He panicked slightly and stopped stroking her altogether and instead just hugged her, minding to keep his hands off of her bare back, pressed his cheek to the top of her head.

Little by little, the girl began to calm down. When she finally quieted down, he whispered softly: "Will you tell me?"

The girl raised her tear-stained face up at him.

Look her in the eyes! IN THE EYES, Hatake!!! — Kakashi's consciousness screamed.

This is an improved version of one of my old illustrations for the first fanfic - to be specific, chapter 3 of “Outlander: Found on the Path of Life”.

The scene is as follows:

«As he thought, the girl hadn't gone far. A frail figure huddled against a tree. She did not raise her head even when he openly approached her and, after a little hesitation, sat down next to her, also leaning his back against the tree and almost touching her with his shoulder.»

Back then, when I drew this, I had no intentions of making proper artworks for my fanfic - I was only going to post sketches 🤔

But I think here I was already losing my resolve a bit because while I drew this with ink, traditionally, I further processed it digitally. And the more I did that the more I was dragged into this until I began making proper digital artworks 😅

I have a silly custom of mentally marking the New Year as it happens across the countries I’ve been to. The farthest I’ve ever been from home is Tonga, and they are celebrating New Year riiiight about now 😁

This year for me personally it’s not really about celebrating but rather the desire to leave the old year behind in the hope that the new year will be better… I sincerely wish for that… 😔

P.s. I tried a few new brushes and a thicker line art this time, and I don’t particularly like it 🥴

Also in general I have to admit I’m not too happy about where my art style is heading - I feel like it used to be better, and I’m sort of downgrading instead of improving 😔 but maybe it’s just a part of my overall down state…

After doing the sketch of this artwork I have spent exactly 3 weeks not touching the iPad (well, I did once - for about 15 minutes, but it was literally 5 strokes after which I decided that I’m stuck and went to sleep 🙈).

To be honest, at some point I even feared that was the end of it - that I won’t be getting back to drawing at all. Because I mean, when I was on holidays I was always drawing and this time… I did anything but drawing…

So I’m happy at least that I managed to complete this artwork once I got back from holidays 🥴 but since I’m not too happy with the result… I don’t know how long I will last anymore 😔

Sorry for moaning… but I’m really sad to be sort of losing my drive 🥲
