As much as I am not a UGA fan (and am not sure they made a good choice with Cecile, but whatevs), I am glad that Kara is back on a team!

Hopefully this is a better experience for her and she's able to get some healing from this.

Did you see Kara Eaker’s Instagram statement on her experience at U of U gymnastics? My heart is breaking for her and countless others who suffered so much, when will enough be enough?

It’s just…so disheartening. You want to think that NCAA is a safer system than elite, but it’s all so engrained that I know that’s a silly assumption. And the fact that someone as prominent and successful as Kara can STILL be getting pushback and not believed is just…disgusting.

I know fixing systems is never a small thing, and it includes these kinds of speaking out and reckoning, but it does get exhausting as even a spectator. For the athletes? You just feel awful.

Do you think that the drop in new talented juniors during the Tokyo quad could also be due to more gymnasts not attempting elite/going to level 10 earlier? With all the scandals surrounding usag I certainly wouldn't blame them. Plus college gymnastics seems to have gotten even more popular the last few years.

I think there is more lag in this than that. I think the Nassar scandal and upheaval at USAG doesn't make people switch quite that fast but I think relative lack of depth in this (the Paris) quad can be attributed to that.

I don't know that you can read a switch path narrative to anyone that's already reached this level and even if you wanted to with Dennis and Flatley they were seniors before the scandal broke. What this doesn't show is the army of juniors Texas Dreams in particular had during this period.
