Khottie of the Week: Park Jin Young
Khottie of the Week: Park Jin Young
In my early months of kdrama watching it wasn’t uncommon to binge watch, even watching into the early hours of the morning, even on a work night. That rarely happens anymore but every once in a while a drama pulls me in and I just can’t stop. That happened recently with He is Psychometric…I won’t say anything about the drama other than it was addictively good (obviously) but I will talk about my…

Do you ever have those groups where you really want to love them, where you enjoy their music, follow them on social media but have never connected on another level? For me, Got7 has always been one of those groups. I always enjoy their music, I was excited to see them at KCON last summer and SaraG can attest that for one 48 hour period I thought JB might be the one (following a marathon of Dream Knight). But for me, it’s never moved beyond that point.
Got7 had a comeback early March and will be kicking off a world tour in May with stops in the US. Thanks to the Khottie calendar I was informed that this week is Jackson’s 24th birthday and it felt like a good time to highlight a member of a group that I’ll never fully appreciate.
Meet Jackson.
He was born in Hong Kong and is fluent in multiple languages.
He was offered a scholarship to Stanford for fencing but turned it down to be an idol.
He’s well known for working out and is not afraid to forget a shirt on occasion.
Quite often actually.
I’m sure some of us wonder if he has an allergy to shirts.
Even with a shirt not much is left to the imagination.
I would like to be clear that I am not complaining.
With or without a shirt this boy knows what he’s doing.
But I also discovered that he’s just plain cute too.
With a love for animals (honestly not sure who is cuter).
Animals of any kind.
All levels of cute.
Happy Birthday, Jackson!!
You can follow him on Instagram @jacksonwang852g7 or Got7 @got7.with.igot7.

Khottie of the Week: Oh Se Hun
Khottie of the Week: Oh Se Hun
Happy New Year everyone! I hope your new year got off to a rip-roaring start and you are overly excited for all the new khotties 2019 will bring us! So let’s not wait any longer and dive right in.
This week’s khottie should not be unfamiliar to most of you out there. Oh Se Hun, better known as Sehun, is the maknae of EXO.
He’s the other rapper and a pretty terrific dancer.
He’ll be 25 in April.

Chottie of the Week: Chen Kun
Chottie of the Week: Chen Kun
This week’s post is from a reader request. Apparently, she has watched 70 episodes of a Chinese show for him alone and when someone shows that much passion it’s only right that I support that dedication with a post. I am not familiar with Chen Kun at all so I hope I do him justice (and all the pics are correct)!  (more…)

Khottie of the Week: Kim Namjoon
Khottie of the Week: Kim Namjoon
Do you ever think about why a bias is a bias? What makes someone you’ve never met, will likely never meet (except for a second long high five if you’re lucky) the focus of all your fantasies? Someone you get protective over, annoyed when other people notice a particular picture or look. And do you ever think about why you move on from a bias, what makes your feelings change and evolve?  (more…)

Khottie of the Week: Ha Seok Jin
Khottie of the Week: Ha Seok Jin
My sincerest apologies for no Khottie last week. As you have probably read (or heard on the podcast) it’s been a busy couple of weeks with Nerd Herd visits, copious ticket buying and then there is the other stuff that makes up life…like work, non #klife friends and family. With all this going on I felt the need to feature someone I’ve always really liked but never seems to get the attention he…

I saw my first robin while walking the dog yesterday which has always been one of the signs that spring is on the way (we’re going to ignore that Lucy tried hard to chase the robin…she must still want winter). While the comebacks never stop in the world of Kpop to me there is something slightly more special about a comeback in the spring months…and thankfully there are lots to be had. Today’s khottie is a suggestion from SaraG and Winner just put out their first comeback teaser…perfect timing if you ask me.
Lee Seung Hoon, stage name Hoony, is singer/rapper.
SaraG would like you to notice that he has a nose piercing.
YG might not be my favorite agency but they do give their idols a certain level of freedom…tattoos and piercings.
And I’d like to point out he has a really cute smile.
He does the sexy well.
Did someone say sexy?
Apparently, he choreographed a flash mob performance for G-Dragon.
He has an Italian Greyhound.
He wants to learn how to play tennis.
And has been an impressive model.
He’s known for his freestyle dancing.
You can find him on Instagram @maetamong.

If you are a stickler for rules and regulations you’ll know that I’m technically featuring this idol eight days ahead of his 24th birthday. BUT it’s SaraG’s birthday and sometimes you have to break the rules…especially for your Kbestie! Besides, I know the Kchat Jjigae head honcho is soft for this guy (and SaraG) so my guess is that she’ll let it slide.
From the very beginning, Hoseok (aka JHope) was SaraG’s BTS bias. He was chosen for her by a Soompi quiz and to this day she has remained faithful to that fateful choice. For me, Hoseok was one of the first BTS members that I could easily identify but, maybe cause I’ve always known he and SaraG were meant to be together, I’ve never fully appreciated all he brings to BTS and #klife.
In case you really do have no clue who he is…but seriously how can you not know?
His ‘role’ in the group is often as the sunshine…with such a bright smile it’s not hard to see why.
He’s not afraid to be silly.
He’s not afraid to show his love.
Especially his love for Jimin…#savejimin.
He’s not afraid to be sexy.
Or sexy and silly.
The perfect combo of sexy and silly.
SaraG might need help breathing sexy.
Rapper sexy and cool.
He’s not considered one of the visuals of the group but damn he sure is pretty to look at.
So pretty.
The caption for this photo online was “lucky pole”. SaraG, just imagine it’s you.
You can follow Hoseok, along with the rest of BTS, on Twitter at @bts_bighit.
Happy Birthday SaraG!!!

It must have something to do with the change in seasons and light but I’ve been seriously craving waffles. I don’t particularly like them for breakfast, too much sweetness to early in the morning but there is nothing more comforting than waffles for dinner. Thankfully I have friends who are always willing to humor me and so Friday night was waffle night…as awesome as I remembered. I feel like I could wax poetic about waffles for awhile but you are all likely sitting there wondering why I am talking about waffles when I should be talking khottie…
Kim Jae Wook, aka waffle guy from Coffee Prince, is a relatively well-known actor and model. He spent a large part of his childhood in Japan, thus his fluent Japanese. Coffee Prince was his first big role and was one of the first dramas I watched. While I’ll admit I didn’t pay him much attention (my focus was elsewhere…), I recently rediscovered him while watching Temperature of Love. He’s playing a strong B lead that while I don’t particularly love what he’s doing I can sympathize with where he’s coming from.
I didn’t recognize him right away as he’s best known for his long locks.
I’ll be honest and admit I don’t love long hair on men but it does look good on him.
Even better when you add glasses.
You can tell his background is modeling as it was hard to find pictures of him smiling…
You might understand why I didn’t recognize him again…
I love a good sexy smolder…especially in the tub.
Or in the city.
The ones you’ve all been waiting for.
He comes across, at least to me, as so serious…not always it would seem.
You can find him, minus any waffles, on Instagram @jaeuck.kim.
I’m off to find me some more waffles!

After a weekend where nothing really goes how you planned it’s nice to have an already thought out Khottie post. I still had to write it but at least I didn’t have to come up with an idea. A few weeks ago Lori sent me a picture of a cute guy and asked if I would consider covering him for Khottie as he was almost 24 and utterly deserving of the title. Sadly I did not recognize him immediately but after this post he’ll never slip my mind!
Kang Young Hyun, better known by his stage name Young K (sometimes Brian), is the rapper and bassist for Day6. They were amazing at KCON NY last summer and I’ve enjoyed their year-long monthly releases, appropriately timed for the 6th day of each month. Young K went to high school in Canada so speaks English well and as you’ll see below handles that bass quite well.
I love how there are always pictures of them with their instrument cases, as if you’d ever forget he can really play.
He doesn’t shy away from hair color…(and I can’t tell you how much I LOVE this color)
Wouldn’t be a good post without pictures of him playing…tongue anyone?
Apparently, that’s a thing he does…I’m not complaining.
It was hard to pick just one gif of him in action.
So I didn’t.
Whoops, I’d say I’m sorry but I’m not.
He has a softer side that’s oh so appealing.
And that smile…
And funny side…or a real love for sheep.
Look Lori, he has flowers for you!
He does the selfie well too…I controlled myself so you’ll have to enjoy just one of them.
It’s his birthday on December 19th…Happy Birthday Young K!!
Thanks for the suggestion Lori!!

Khottie of the Week: Seo In Guk
Khottie of the Week: Seo In Guk
Anyone who knows me well can you tell you that I go through phases (just ask SaraG). I’ll find something I think I’m madly in love with, whether that be a specific song/album, a type of food or an individual (these days it’s almost always a k-individual) and I’ll binge on that item for weeks. And then, suddenly, usually out of nowhere, I’m over that obsession and left with five bags of kettle…

Anybody here play StarPOP?  It’s a phone game that basically lets you keep an idol as a pet – think Farmville, but with more hand hearts.  Until recently they only had SM Entertainment artists, and I had slaved to keep Key and Xiumin happy before I inevitably lost interest in my sweet, but high maintenance, boys. Well, they recently announced the addition of B.A.P to the lineup!  (They have also added CNBLUE!).  I decided to rejoin so I could play with Bang, but his avatar is sort of odd looking, so I went with Winwin instead. However, SaraG is playing with Daehyun, and he’s perfect in both looks and personality for the game.  He’s always been fabulous at fan service.  So in honor of the game, and B.A.Ps impending comeback (Yay!), this week’s Khottie will be Daehyun.
Seriously, SO GOOD at fan service.
One of the things I have always admired about Daehyun is he is very fan focused.  Even when they’re between comebacks, he is always reaching out to BABYs on media or putting out some kind of performance.
I don’t love his solo singing – Sorry, Daehyun – I think he blends beautifully with his group though. And I love to watch him perform – he’s very emotive and dynamic.
Have you watched any of the show on V Live called LieV?  Idols climb into bed, under pretty soft lighting, and talk you quietly to sleep.  I love watching it.  They always look gorgeous, and its really soothing. No games, no screaming, just them talking to you. It’s the best thing ever.
So so pretty!  Daehyun is one of those idols that looks good in everything the stylist puts on him.  The Dude Ranch Cowboy thing for B.A.P’s Rose was a lot to deal with visually, but look how good he looks!
He can wear any hair color.  I found a lot more than even this multitude of colors below.  I wonder what conditioner he uses to keep his hair from turning into straw?
He can do the tough concepts – gangster, street kid – you name it. Especially now that his face has matured and its not as tempting to pinch his cheeks.
The Boyfriend concept (or as I like to call it, “Boys is regular clothes”) is perfect on him.  This is how he appears in the StarPOP game.  So cute!
But of course, my favorite is the sexy concept.  I think they’re his favorites too.  Look at him working that gorgeous little mole under his eye.
So, I hope everyone is looking forward to what B.A.P and Daehyun have in store for us with this Blue comeback!  The last one for Wake Me Up was wonderful and they deserve all of our love.  See you next week!
P.S.  If you join the StarPOP game and want to friend me, just let me know!

I had my first request this week (from not just one person but two) so how can you say no to your readers. Especially when a request means that people are actually reading the stuff you write! I had planned to stay far away from anything related to CNBlue and StarPop but the masses have spoken and this one is for you, DBChen and Molly in Kdramaland.
Kang Min Hyuk is the drummer and maknae of CNBlue; however, he also has done a fair amount of acting and that’s where I mostly remember him from. As you might have gleaned from a prior post my CNBlue bias rests elsewhere so I’ve never really paid much attention to Kang Min Hyuk other than to realize he was the incredibly young and adorable drummer in Heartstrings. He was 18 when CNBlue debuted in 2009 and in researching this week’s post it’s clear how much he has grown in that time.
Until I started digging this is how he was always pictured in my head.
While he was adorable he is definitely all grown up now…that smile is still there.
I wasn’t sure he could do sexy until I was very happily proven wrong.
Sexy and smiles
With denim.
And then I saw the fur…
And then the bed…
Because I’m writing this in between my weekend chores this picture seemed appropriate…if only he was the one doing my laundry.
And I’m also eating while writing…
Of course, a post wouldn’t be complete without images of his drums.
He’s currently starring in the new drama Hospital Ship. I had no idea it was him until SaraG pointed it out…can’t wait to start watching!
Found this while researching for last week…they do look good together.
You can find him on Instagram (@mr_kanggun) where you can see him and his cat (though this is not his real cat).
Let me know if you have requests for future posts!
